On the fifth anniversary of our marriage, my wife's first love gave her a set of sexy lingerie as a gift at the dinner. The people around us burst into ambiguous laughter.

"Don't mind it, Jeremy. I am also trying to promote the relationship between you and your husband!" The first love smiled and spoke, but his tone was full of sarcasm.

My wife blushed shyly and glared at him coquettishly. But when her eyes fell on me, her eyes were full of ridicule.

There was wine on the table and I picked up a glass and drank it silently.

"Jeremy, I thought you wouldn't come! Isn't today your wedding anniversary with your wife?"

My colleague joked with me with a smile, but when he saw my lonely expression, he immediately fell silent.

Someone put a microphone in my hand and the atmosphere became lively again. I felt relieved, put down the wine and sang along.

I didn’t know how long it took, suddenly the phone lit up. It was already 12 o'clock in the evening.

Emily sent a message, full of strong questions.

[Where are you? Why haven't you come back yet? ]

I glanced at it, turned off the screen and continued to sing at the top of my lungs. I tried to get Emily out of my mind.

"Jeremy, the branch has been developing well recently. Are you really... not going to give it a try? You are so young and there is still a lot of room for development in your work."

In between drinking water, my boss came to me and invited me to the branch as a manager again.

After joining the company, I worked hard and won several major projects and was deeply loved by the leaders. Recently, the headquarters opened a branch in another region and the leader repeatedly invited me to move in.

Coincidentally, that place was my hometown and the company's address was not far from my home. But in order to be with Emily, I declined several times.
