Chapter 1

I gave my husband, Simon Fuller, a luxury cruise VIP card, one of only three ever issued worldwide.

Yet, somehow, it ended up in the hands of a lowlife thug.

Using the card, the thug strutted around the cruise ship like a king, barking orders and acting untouchable.

No one dared to stand up to him.

"This table is too low. You! Get over here. Kneel and hold the plate up while I'm eating."

"With a skirt that short, who are you trying to seduce? Some big-shot CEO? Why don't you just come with me instead…"

I couldn't take it anymore, so I spoke up.

The next second, I was beaten by his men! The thug claimed to be my husband's brother-in-law.

I was so angry I laughed.

Then, I called my father.

"Dad, please have the cruise turn back to port immediately. I want Simon Fuller gone and with nothing to his name!"

On the day of the gala, I was assigned to the first-class dining department. I served guests while waiting for Simon Fuller, my husband, to arrive.

Suddenly, a loud commotion broke through the rather quiet first-class cabin.

"Damn! I never thought that I'd get to come to such a fancy place in my entire lifetime!"

"Of course, look who you're with! This is all thanks to Hugo!"

"I have to take more photos. This will drive the girls crazy when I post them! Hahaha!"

I looked over to see a group of men in t-shirts and torn-up jeans entering, not to mention the cigarettes placed behind their ears.

They looked around in excitement. Amid their flattery, their leader was thoroughly pleased with himself.

He was dressed in an expensive suit, which complemented him well, yet he looked rather out of place.

In the hall, several guests were already casting annoyed looks at them, yet they seemed utterly oblivious to it, laughing loudly while constantly flattering Hugo.

I frowned.

Who would have invited these types of people to the gala?

Yet, I still flashed a professional smile and walked up to them.

"Gentlemen, welcome aboard the Symphony Cruise," I said politely. "However, this is a public space. Please keep your voices down so as not to disturb other guests. Thank…"

Before I could finish my sentence, the leader of the group glared at me. Then, he took a card out of his pocket and threw it in my face.

"Enough. Why are you so annoying? Who are you to police my behavior? Look at this! Do you know what this card is? If you do, just get lost!"

Two guys behind him exchanged glances before letting out exaggerated noises. "Oh, my god! Hugo, you're amazing!"

The commotion had drawn plenty of attention. The dining department manager, Jill Light, who had been watching the scene unfold, quickly came over to pick up the card and handed it back to Hugo, ingratiatingly, with both hands.

"Sir, I'm so sorry! She's new. She doesn't quite understand how it all works yet. Please don't take offense."

Hugo snatched the card back, cursed under his breath, and swaggered away. When he walked past me, he swept a lewd glance at my chest, not even planning on hiding it.

I gritted my teeth.

One thing Jill got wrong was that I might be new, but I recognized that card.

It was the Swift Corp Platinum Membership Card. There were only three in the entire world.

My parents had one, and my in-laws had one, too. The last one was with me.

I had lent my card to Simon so he could use it while negotiating business deals.

So, how did that card end up with some lowlife thug?

Before I could get to the bottom of that, Jill pulled me to the side and rolled her eyes impatiently at me.

"How unlucky am I to be on the same shift as you! Do you not do your research on customers? Don't you know who that is? Hugo Church! His older sister is Sherry Church, the secretary to the CEO of the Fuller Group!

"How dare you offend him? It's one thing to get yourself destroyed. Don't drag us all along with you!"

Then, she stormed off, rolling her eyes.

I froze.

Where the hell did Simon get the nerve to keep a mistress at work behind my back?

I stood in the same spot, thinking about how Simon usually behaved. For the past three years that we were married, he was always respectful toward me. Even during the holidays, he behaved impeccably in front of my parents.

My parents, who were initially unimpressed by him, started to change their minds about him.

Would a person like that truly betray me?

Would he dare?

Chapter 2

I remembered the prenuptial agreement we signed before our wedding, and I felt relieved.

I retreated to the side, remaining on standby as I observed Hugo.

Even after my reminder, his behavior did not change in the slightest. In fact, he and his crew got even more impolite.

Soon, the entire dining hall was filled with nothing but the loud, shameless chatter of the four of them.

Many guests could no longer take the noise and left for other decks.

Suddenly, Hugo looked around as if he were looking for someone. Our eyes met.

When he saw me, he smirked maliciously before pointing at me and yelling, "Hey, you! Come over here!"

I did not like him, so I ignored him.

However, he strode over to me and sat down in front of me, leaning back and crossing his legs.

"You! Kneel and hold the tray for me. I want to eat. The table is too low. It makes me uncomfortable eating."

A smile plastered on my face.

His other two men started chiming in rudely, saying, "Hugo, that's amazing! You picked such a beautiful one!"

"Hugo, my table feels short, too. Can I also…" He let out a lewd smile.

Hugo beamed triumphantly and replied, "Of course. There are a few others there, right? Get them over here!"

Those two actually began eyeing the female attendants in the restaurant, crowding together and commenting without restraint.

I stared at them coldly.

"We don't have such services here."

Hugo stopped smiling. He got up and kicked the table.

"What the hell do you mean by that, huh? You're dead set on going against me today?!"

Then, he pulled out the card once more and tapped it on my head twice, rudely.

"Open your stupid eyes and have a look. Do you see what this is? As long as I'm here, I'm the law! Who cares about what you think! If you offend me, you're done for!"

He then said, "Unless you kneel right now and apologize. Prostrate yourself to me and tell me what you've done wrong. Then, maybe I'll be generous and let you off the hook."

Hugo adjusted his collar in mock elegance, staring at me with blatant mockery.

Watching him continue to humiliate the staff there with that card, I finally could not take it any longer. I sneered coldly.

"Sir, is this really your card? You dare to pretend it's yours and bully other people with it?"

Hugo naturally knew where he got the card from. He just did not expect someone else to openly question him.

Humiliation turned into rage. He threw a punch at me.

His two other men knowingly went over and pressed me down, trying to force me to kneel.

One even touched me inappropriately.

I tried to shrug them off, but I was no match for two adult men.

"Let me go! Security!" I looked around nervously to see that the security guards nearby were looking away.

They did not dare to interfere, so they pretended that they saw nothing.

My heart sank.

Hugo got even more emboldened by their reactions. "Yell all you want! Let's see who dares to come and help you!"

The other two chimed in and yelled at the security guards, "Smart that you know not to interfere! This guy here is the Fuller Group's CEO's brother-in-law!"

They then kicked me in my knee. "Kneel and apologize to Hugo at once!"

My knees hit the ground hard. A sharp pain shot through me as if my bones had cracked.

Yet, I was refusing to yield.

"Hugo Church, you'll regret this!"

Chapter 3

As if he had just heard a great joke, Hugo pointed at me and bawled out laughing.

"You're nuts! You think you can make me regret it? You?"

Then, he added mockingly, saying, "Oh, wow, I'm so afraid! Come on then! Let's see what you'll do to me!

"If you're not going to prostrate yourself, I'm going to make you do it! You two! Press her head down and make her bow to me!"

Hugo's two other men enjoyed the feeling of lording over people. Now that they had received the order, they did not hesitate one bit.

They held my head and were about to press it on the floor when, at that moment, the doors swung open, and a woman entered.

She was in a tight, strapless dress that hugged her figure tightly. Her long curls cascaded down her chest. Even in sky-high heels, she moved effortlessly.

When Hugo saw who it was, he immediately yelled, "Sherry, I'm being bullied by a server! I'm asking her to kneel and apologize, but she refused! Get Simon to fire her!"

I looked at the woman who just entered. So, she was Simon's mistress, Sherry Church?

Sherry quickly walked over and stood next to Hugo, sizing me up.

She snickered condescendingly and said, "You lowly dumb server. Don't you know that in hospitality, the customer is king? If the king asks you to kneel, you kneel. You hear me?"

I stared back at her, not backing down. "In my industry, there has never been such a request to servers!"

Sherry instantly lifted her hand, covered with encrusted nail extensions, and slapped me on the face hard.

"Enough! I don't care what request you have or do not have. My brother is not happy right now. So, it's your fault. I'm going to give you five seconds to do what he says. If not, I'll make sure you won't be able to survive in this place anymore!"

I never thought that she would get violent. I could not swerve in time, so I took the slap right in the face.

Instantly, a burning pain was on my cheek as something warm trickled down my face.

I glared at her. "How dare you?!"

Sherry was furious that I had the audacity to glare at her. She pulled my hair hard. "You idiot! Look at who you are. Then, see who I am. There is nothing that I dare not do! Even if I feed you to the sharks today, no one will help you!"

My arms were restrained. My scalp was screaming in pain as my hair was nearly ripped out by the roots. I could only lift my head with the force of her pull.

No one stopped her violent actions.

Sherry was just about to slap me again when a man behind her called out her name. Her menacing expression instantly changed into her normal smiling self.

She let my hair go and turned around. Her voice was shrill and coquettish as she said, "Simon, you're here."

She affectionately hooked her arm around his. He went along and wrapped his arm around her waist.

He was wearing the custom suit that I bought for him.

Simon Fuller.

I snickered.

'Your good days are over!'

Sherry nestled her head on Simon's shoulder. Simon lowered his head and looked at her, saying, "I heard your voice. What happened? Did someone bully you?"

Sherry pouted aggrievedly. "I was just being bullied by the staff! I was only asking them to help, but not only did they refuse, they even threatened Hugo…"

Sherry started sobbing. "I got them to apologize, but she also glared and yelled at me. How could they do this? How could they be such bullies?"

Simon caressed her head and said, "Don't cry. How dare they bully you? Don't worry. I'll seek justice for you two."

Hugo eagerly ran up to them and pointed at us. "Simon, it's them! They have such a terrible attitude as servers!"

Simon did not even look up. He was wiping tears from Sherry's face.

Without even asking the reason, he said threateningly, "All of you. Kneel and apologize right now. If not, I have the power to fire you from Swift Corp, even blacklisting you from the entire industry!"

I was instantly furious as I heard his threats. Who knew he had such powers to interfere with matters in Swift Corp?

While two of Hugo's men were distracted, I shrugged them off and stood up, glaring at Simon.

"Simon Fuller, you must be out of your stupid mind! I dare you to say it one more time. Who are you asking to kneel and apologize?"
