Swift Retribution Luxury Cruise
I gave my husband, Simon Fuller, a luxury cruise VIP card, one of only three ever issued worldwide.
Yet, somehow, it ended up in the hands of a lowlife thug.
Using the card, the thug strutted around the cruise ship like a king, barking orders and acting untouchable.
No one dared to stand up to him.
"This table is too low. You! Get over here. Kneel and hold the plate up while I'm eating."
"With a skirt that short, who are you trying to seduce? Some big-shot CEO? Why don't you just come with me instead…"
I couldn't take it anymore, so I spoke up.
The next second, I was beaten by his men! The thug claimed to be my husband's brother-in-law.
I was so angry I laughed.
Then, I called my father.
"Dad, please have the cruise turn back to port immediately. I want Simon Fuller gone and with nothing to his name!"
On the day of the gala, I was assigned to the first-class dining department. I served guests while waiting for Simon Fuller, my husband, to arrive.
Suddenly, a loud commotion broke through the rather quiet first-class cabin.
"Damn! I never thought that I'd get to come to such a fancy place in my entire lifetime!"
"Of course, look who you're with! This is all thanks to Hugo!"
"I have to take more photos. This will drive the girls crazy when I post them! Hahaha!"
I looked over to see a group of men in t-shirts and torn-up jeans entering, not to mention the cigarettes placed behind their ears.
They looked around in excitement. Amid their flattery, their leader was thoroughly pleased with himself.
He was dressed in an expensive suit, which complemented him well, yet he looked rather out of place.
In the hall, several guests were already casting annoyed looks at them, yet they seemed utterly oblivious to it, laughing loudly while constantly flattering Hugo.
I frowned.
Who would have invited these types of people to the gala?
Yet, I still flashed a professional smile and walked up to them.
"Gentlemen, welcome aboard the Symphony Cruise," I said politely. "However, this is a public space. Please keep your voices down so as not to disturb other guests. Thank…"
Before I could finish my sentence, the leader of the group glared at me. Then, he took a card out of his pocket and threw it in my face.
"Enough. Why are you so annoying? Who are you to police my behavior? Look at this! Do you know what this card is? If you do, just get lost!"
Two guys behind him exchanged glances before letting out exaggerated noises. "Oh, my god! Hugo, you're amazing!"
The commotion had drawn plenty of attention. The dining department manager, Jill Light, who had been watching the scene unfold, quickly came over to pick up the card and handed it back to Hugo, ingratiatingly, with both hands.
"Sir, I'm so sorry! She's new. She doesn't quite understand how it all works yet. Please don't take offense."
Hugo snatched the card back, cursed under his breath, and swaggered away. When he walked past me, he swept a lewd glance at my chest, not even planning on hiding it.
I gritted my teeth.
One thing Jill got wrong was that I might be new, but I recognized that card.
It was the Swift Corp Platinum Membership Card. There were only three in the entire world.
My parents had one, and my in-laws had one, too. The last one was with me.
I had lent my card to Simon so he could use it while negotiating business deals.
So, how did that card end up with some lowlife thug?
Before I could get to the bottom of that, Jill pulled me to the side and rolled her eyes impatiently at me.
"How unlucky am I to be on the same shift as you! Do you not do your research on customers? Don't you know who that is? Hugo Church! His older sister is Sherry Church, the secretary to the CEO of the Fuller Group!
"How dare you offend him? It's one thing to get yourself destroyed. Don't drag us all along with you!"
Then, she stormed off, rolling her eyes.
I froze.
Where the hell did Simon get the nerve to keep a mistress at work behind my back?
I stood in the same spot, thinking about how Simon usually behaved. For the past three years that we were married, he was always respectful toward me. Even during the holidays, he behaved impeccably in front of my parents.
My parents, who were initially unimpressed by him, started to change their minds about him.
Would a person like that truly betray me?
Would he dare?
