The plan to finally get rid of her husband and be with who her heart belongs to now was going perfectly for Veronica, these days she has exhausted a lot of things from Kyler all in guilt of having cheated on her.

What’s more it is that they don’t share the same bed anymore and in order to heal her wound she has requested a time space between them which includes a travel out and a secret romantic trip with Conrad.

Life for her couldn’t have been so hard and this for her is the beginning of a new life of freedom, with a divorce paper in place and evidences to proof that he cheated on her, veronica felt on top of her game as she took a cocktail to celebrate her success.

She requested a maid to open the drink and pour her a glass, with her drinks in her hand she click glass to the air and took a tiny sip then dropping the glass as she felt nauseous all of a sudden.

Not wanting to make a big deal she took the glass again and finish the content once and for all but then her stomach begin to feel upset and in a moment she hurried to the bathroom to throw up.

“what the hell” she wondered, not sure why the nauseous pop in, without wasting time she put a call through to the family doctor and ask to see him tomorrow for her checkup.

The illness got worsen the next day and Veronica could hardly get out of bed, she needed so much for Kyler to be there but for more than seven weeks now they haven’t talk to each other and hardly see so there is no way he’s going to be here.

The maid who came in to clean her room saw her weak state and quickly call for a doctor to come over, angry at the maid for calling an unfamiliar doctor to check on her Veronica yelled angrily but seeing she has no choice with the headache and other emotional feelings right now she accept to get treat by her.

“Congratulations ma’am you are pregnant” the doctor announced happily as she help her sit up

“What crab are you talking about? I’m on contraceptives” she said throwing her hands off

“Well madam that doesn’t guarantee hundred percent, although I don’t know why you might not want a child now but I hope you keep this one”

“What?” Veronica yelled reality dawn on her at that moment, this is disastrous, how could she be pregnant this is definitely trouble for her.

“Doc” she grabbed her hands which she had just thrown away minutes past

“I need this baby gone, I don’t care if it cost my life but I definitely can’t have this thing inside of me” she said desperately and the Doctor look on not sure what to do

“Why would you want to hurt yourself rather…?”

“Stop with the crap okay? I don’t need your opinion just do what I asked”

“But ma’am…”

“Five million” she said and the doctor’s countenance lighted up at the amount of money

“To keep your mouth shut and to get rid of this thing without anyone else knowing about it” she offered

“Of course I will try my best to ensure this goes well, my lips are sealed” the doctor agreed and they both decided to contact each other secretly until she could get an abortion.

A week after many failed attempt to get an abortion Veronica became devastated on what to do, she has tried many times to get rid of the baby growing in her but to no avail as her life is seriously in line, having no choice left she phoned Conrad to sought out a solution to the disaster.

They met at the usual place and immediately he got into the room and rush at her for a kiss but surprisingly for him she push him off and turn away, not giving up he came behind her and attempt a kiss on her shoulder wanting to take control of her body

this time she almost gave in as the kisses trail down to her cleavage but then remembering the crucial reason for being there in the first place she turn away again and push him off weakly

“Stop Conrad” she half-pleaded

‘What is it? Didn’t you call me here to get laid?” he asked upset at the rejections

“No, I need to talk to you” she answered

Conrad whose desire was to have a crazy sex suddenly lose interest and took out a cigarette from his pocket, he lighted it up and took a puff blowing away

“Can you not smoke and listen to me?” she said angrily at his nonchalant attitude

“No I won’t, not until I whip your ass into a perfect submission” he answered with a playful grin

“I’m pregnant Conrad” she throw the bomb

“So? Congratulations, is that why we can’t have sex?” he said with another puff

“Can’t you get your head over sex and listen to me? This isn’t Kyler’s baby” she screeched.

Conrad dropped the cigarette in his hands and match it with his shoes to put it off scattering his hair in the process

“You could have said that earlier” he said getting out of his horny mood

“You could have aborted it rather than inform me, besides are you not on pills”

“It’s not my fault your manhood was big enough to pierce through everything and result into this” she lashed

“You think I don’t know what to do” she said and pause to catch her breathe

“I can’t have an abortion, I will lose my life if I do” she informed with a piteous look

“Damn!” he cursed biting his thumb in frustration at the news

“Just tell Kyler you are having his baby then” he suggested resorting to his last thought

“That won’t work too” Veronica answered and Conrad frowns wondering what other excuses she has

“I haven’t sleep with Kyler since the incident, if he knows I’m pregnant we are doomed Conrad” she said and hug him to console herself

Okay calm down and let’s think together” he said and brought her to sit on the cushion

They remain in each other’s arm for a while until Veronica lean in for a kiss, Conrad whose body already desired the lust didn’t hesitate to respond.

Half way to their smooching Conrad suddenly pull out an idea in his head on what to do, he shook her slightly excited at his solution

“you shouldn’t sleep with me now you need to make Kyler Black have sex with you before the week runs out” Veronica stared at him trying to force a smile but she couldn’t since his solution seems a bit confusing for her

“Don’t you get it? The pregnant is just a month or thereabout, what if Kyler get to sleep with you before it reaches two months old, then you can claim to have an early birth” he poured smiling at the possible solution

“And that will work?” she asked doubtfully

“Just follow my lead” he assured and hug her again feeling relieved.

Just as planned Veronica put on a new cleavage with four strings back and thongs to go with it, already taken her bath with her body fairly wet she lay down on the bed and waited for his arrival.

It been so long since and her body can’t wait to have him although not as much as she craves Conrad.

The long wait suddenly came to an end when she heard the sound of his car driving into the park, feeling excited and a bit nervous she waited till he gets to the room to meet his surprise.

After waiting for like forever she angrily grab her phone and dial the housekeeper’s number and the moment it was receive she spoke angrily

“Where is my husband?”

“ma’am...”

“never mind” she cut the call and quickly put on a nightdress making her way downstairs to see what’s going on

Searching for him, she found Alex in the living room with one of the maids and she approach him to ask questions

“Where is your Boss? Isn’t he here with you? Don’t tell me you came alone, why did you drive his car then?”

“Good evening Mrs. Black, President Black won’t be returning home tonight” he answered and drop the glass of finished water

“What?” she snarled “why? What happened? Why didn’t he call to inform me?” she ask in a rush again

“He just had a lot to do and needed to catch early flight tomorrow morning, also he sent me to inform you”

“And rather than inform me you were busy drinking” she yelled at him passing aggression

Calming down after the yell she asked to know when he will be back and the answer given to her isn’t what she wanted to hear, time is definitely not on her side and the faster she gets to sleep with him the better.

Racing back to the room she pick her phone to call him and see if she could make him change his mind and come back home to sleep but his number isn’t reachable

She resorted to texting instead and told him she already forgave him for the affair and needed him back as soon as possible

“I need you to sleep with me” she begged.

Worried president Black sat the office without doing anything but ruminating his thought and trying to get his emotions to one piece the sooner he does seems to be the better for him Now that she’s back and he might have to keep seeing her more than often.

He had tried to avoid this situation but maybe heavens is playing games with him and brought her back to him again

Kyler had thought once she’s gone everything will be fine but he never imagine her to be back and this time she seems to harbor hatred in her heart towards him.

Remembering today’s meeting with her and the way she countered him with so much effrontery and rendered him almost out of speech made a smile escape his lips as he swivel the chair he is sitting on at the thought.

“Fuck!” he cussed inwardly getting out of his trance and hitting the table in irritation, this is bad for him.

Having the thought of another woman in his heart is something he detest for himself, right from being a twelve years old boy he had made a promise within himself not to end up like his father but with his messed up thought now he couldn’t help but be in despair.

He took his coat and ask his driver to take him to a hotel to spend the night, determine to over this immoral feelings he decided to stay away from Veronica who he can’t help but feel guilt at her sight and until he sort out his emotions and get them into place.

Days were counting so is hours and as each hands click on the watch Veronica heart skips a beat at the fear of failing in her plans, everything she tried to get Kyler back to the house for the past five days failed totally and her patient is running out.

She called Conrad to ask what to do and the only thing he could say to her was to try harder

“You said he won’t fall out of your charm, do what you do best” he had said and claim to be busy then cut the call

“I’m veronica Giuliana” she pick up her back after dressing in a macro skirt and a x-cross top with a peep toes heels, placing her negligee necklace.

Today is the last resort for her to get this done if not she might end up a disgraced woman and kick of Black empire empty-handed, spraying her usual perfume she got out of the house and headed straight to the empire, if they were going to have this sex inside his office she doesn’t care

“Whether under or on the table, which either ways is fine” she was determined and desperate.

The last first meeting was a bit messy and unsuccessful so after much deliberation and appeal the new business is on again between the two companies and this time a more organized meeting was scheduled.

Throughout the meeting Yasmin tried to keep her anger, talking and arguing only when needed although she still provoked him but he was also ready to tackle all her tantrums and ended the meeting successfully.

“About the new team to be formed, Miss Cassidy will be the team leader for ARON’s team”

Thompson informed and the new information doesn’t sit well with Kyler, accepting this means he will have to see her much more often

“I don’t think Miss Cassidy will be able to work here, after being fired by this very same company”

“Why can’t I? I didn’t come back for Black but for ARON, president Black and trust me I’m not a coward who runs away rather face issues head up” she replied causing a rise in his anger

“I wish you good luck then Mrs. or Miss Cassidy” he said with a mockery face and walk out of the room.

“Please Yasmin, I know you can’t stand him and hate him but for the sake of the business be professional”

Thompson reminded her just outside the building and she nodded at him with a smile promising to do as much as not letting her feelings get involved again.

Just as their car drove out, Veronica’s car drove in at a fast speed and stepping out of it, people who saw her couldn’t help but admire and marvel on the sexy woman who just arrived, people stare as she walk in and even when she got into the elevator, loving the attention she’s getting her phone rings and it was Kyler

“I’m coming home tonight” he said but she could sense his voice wasn’t at all excited, he sounded disturbed.

“I’m on my way to your office” she said and hang up the phone as the elevator stops.

When she got the secretary’s office she is allowed access to go immediately seeing that it’s the boss lady

“Why are you here?” Kyler asked the second she step into the office

“For you” she said and move closer to him

Kyler didn’t resist but let her catch him instead maybe this is the only way to free himself, having sex with the woman he loves is sure to wash all memories of another woman or whatsoever it is that is still lingering

The kiss didn’t last long as Veronica pull down her skirt eagerly and rush in for more but seeing that Kyler is taking it slow she couldn’t help but groan, not satisfied but not going to give up she tug him for more and begin a French kiss to stimulate things and it work just like it always does.

Kyler’s hands quickly went up her dress and he tried to loosen them without breaking the kiss but just as his hands touch the neckline of the dress, he felt a couple of images flash through his head making him stop touching he wanted to pull out of the kiss

But Veronica wouldn’t allow him rather she grab him back with her leg wrapping them around him tightly and desperately.

Mustering his courage he try again continuing their kiss and his hands finding her top again, he decide to go faster about it to avoid what happened seconds ago but then the images flash through him again and a feeling arouse in him

“Lemon sage” he whispered involuntarily

The moment he gave in to his sub conscious feeling, the image of the night in the room came clearly into his head and her face came into picture which made him halt abruptly the kiss and move away from his wife

“What is wrong with you?” Veronica almost yelled

“I can’t do this now, maybe some other time” he excused and walk out of his office

Veronica stomp her feet in defeat and irritation, she almost had him trapped just a minute to seal him down he pull out. She drag her skirt back to her waistline and suddenly reoccur something

“why did he touch me like that?’ she wondered aloud finding it new.

The next day after trying so hard and rejecting his wife throughout the night, Kyler sat tiredly on the long cushion hoping to have a short rest but then his phone rings and he stand up to answer it

“Your wife is in the hospital” the caller informed

Kyler ran to the ward where Veronica was laid and plant a kiss on her forehead before turning to the doctor to ask what happened

“Your wife is five weeks pregnant and she attempted an abortion” he said to the perplexed and confused Kyler

“Pregnant? My wife?”

‘Yes and it seems she took some pills to get rid of it, thankfully she was brought on time and we were able to save both mother and child’s lives” he inform happily and went off to do some other duty promising to come back when she awakes

“Why did Veronica try to abort our baby?” he wondered staring at her closed eyes he has always wanted to have his own kids and definitely with her.

Kyler place his palm on his wife stomach trying to see if he could feel the baby that way

“so there is a….five weeks?” he thought remembering the doctor’s word minutes ago he remembered clearly that five weeks was mentioned by the doctor and for six weeks he haven’t had sex with her

“She’s pregnant?” he asked himself again as he withdraw his palm from her stomach not sure what to think.

….the past…

The exquisite living room looks a bit messy from the usual picture and as young Kyler entered the room he knew at once what had happened in the room, his legs hesitated for some moment but then he turned to go into his room and lock himself up.

Rosa’s eyes watch him till the door closes, her messy clothes as well as ruffled hair made her feel ashamed to be seen by her son in such situation, her gaze turned to her husband who sat on the lounger with his loosed boxers looking nothing less.

As usual he had just rough handled her and that too inside the living room without any care or shame, Rosa who look at her husband and saw no iota of regret or shame in his action burst into tears covering her face fully with her palms.

Young Kyler in his room also struggle with the tears that kept falling, he has gotten used to the scene of seeing his mother being molested by his father and every time this happens he had no choice than to go to his room an cry silently.

Then on a fateful day he had returned home from school finishing high school exam’s and rush home early to share the news with his mother when he met an ill-starred situation which shattered him completely

‘His mother had an affair’ sooner his parents got divorced and he had to live alone with the anguish.

For the first time in twelve years Kyler felt the same feeling of anguish rushing through him as he receive the report confirmation of his wife’s pregnancy and it was indeed confirmed to be five weeks old which clearly means he’s not responsible for the pregnancy.

Taking the piece of paper with him Kyler drove back home heartbroken and feeling lost, his intelligence couldn’t seems to help him this time as he’s confused and dishearten that his mind was lost.

Veronica’s game seems caught up with her as she seems to have lost this particular round and now she couldn’t help but worry what he would do to her, not wanting to take chances she escape from the hospital and went to lodge in an hotel to avoid his wrath.

The original plan was to trap Kyler into giving her a massive pay after their divorce and also live a happy life with Conrad but now all that seems to have become futile.

She had called Conrad many times already and her calls has been put on hold or cut off immediately it was picked, feeling frustrated and horrible Veronica resorted to the last thing ever rather than face shame she will rather face death instead, staring at the piles of medicine in her hands she closed her eyes fixed and swallow up all the pills.

The next time she open her eyes back on the hospital the same bed she was lying down, in a panic she jerked up and try to escape the room but her plan got aborted when she sees him standing at the door like he is deliberately blocking it.

“You gonna run again?” he asked with a cold gaze and Veronica find her hands tremble in fright, she quickly held on to the bed with her butt seated back

“Please” she begged amidst tears that threatened to fall

“You!” he gritted his teeth to suppress his anger at the sight of her.

Kyler moved slowly towards her feeling daze and full of anger, before she could escape him, his hands went for her neck throttling her while her panic eyes begged for mercy.

“How dare you!” he cried out in rage putting more pressure in his fist around her neck

just as she was about to lose her breathe the image of his childhood flash into his memory, the eyes before his eyes slowly changed to that of his mother, the agony in them caused him an instant shock and he let go of his hands at once regretting his action.

In the same moment he felt like a younger version of his cruel father and slowly his chest tightened so hard that he lost his breathe and gaps loudly, he tried to calm himself down and hurry out of the room in a stupor state.

After Kyler left the room, Veronica quickly rush to the door amidst catching her breathe but to her shock and distress again, the door was blocked by two men in black.

Slowly understanding the situation she walk back to her bed succumbing to whatever might happen to her.

His wife betrayal shattered him so much that even his workers suffered the effect, spending all day at the office was one thing but then giving loads of work and roaring at everyone at the slightest error made everyone crazy and petrified.

Alex knock quietly on the door hoping not to enrage his Boss again and came in after waiting for minutes to hear his response, the room seems a bit messy from the morning which made his confused on what in the world happened in the office.

His eyes search for him in the room and found him rummaging through a piles of paperwork, his dry throat strives for saliva.

“President Black” he called inaudibly

“What?” his voice coarse and made Alex swallowed yet another dry throat.

“The first meeting of the new business team is in five minutes, would you like to…”

“I will be there” he cut short and turn back to his business. Alex nodded and quickly exit the office.

The time seems to have passed in the blink of his eyes as he hurry to the new office where the new team meeting is taking place, he had been so buried in paper document that he forgot all about the meeting.

Kyler entered the room and as the sight of him they all stood on their feet to acknowledge him, the person sitting at the last end of the round table was the last to stand up with reluctance.

“Good day, President Black the meeting started twenty minutes ago” she said and took her seat, so do others.

“I’m sure I don’t owe you an explanation” he said angrily and drag a jotter from the nearest person to him, going through it

“First we would like to introduce the team members…”

“Skip that and tell me the progress” he said rudely and Yasmin almost retort back at him

“Well things are going well and just as planned, it’s being kept secret from anyone else”

“Why are you doing the talking?” he asked irritated at listening to her voice

“Because I I’m the team manager” Yasmin replied with a smirk

Kyler who is already in an awful mood went mad seeing her smirk, he hit the table in a fist, causing everyone on the table to flick at the sudden outburst, not done yet he grab the laptop in front of her and hurl it against the wall.

Yasmin watched in a panic at his fury, she had only wanted to irritate him but not to this extent, feeling frightened she tried to escape his next move and turn to the door but he was quick to catch her and pitch her to a corner while the others let out a gasp

“Get out” he thunderous and in fast pace, everyone else ran out leaving only the two of them and Yasmin at his mercy.

“What are you doing? Get the hell off me” she yelled not giving up

She’s no longer afraid of him and there is no way she’s getting succumb to him now

“Stay still Yasmin” he said in a surprisingly calm voice which baffled her but yet made her calm down a bit.

After waiting for a long time, he finally came out of the office and left the building, the other team members who were lingering to know what happened immediately rush in to check on Yasmin

They found her wiping off her tears and wonder what might have transpired between the two, not sure what to say they all took their seat and wait for her to come around.

“That scum!” Yasmin cursed after forcing her tears back, not wanting to remember the horrible words he said to her

“I will make sure to get you back” she promised.

Kyler took the car key from his driver and drove back to the hospital where he had confined Veronica for two days, seeing her today has made him regain his lost senses and emotion.

The moment he stepped into the room, his eyes couldn’t help but rest on noticing every single details on her, not wanting to give in to any crazy thoughts he avert his gaze and took his seat but then as she speak to him, Kyler’s mind couldn’t help but have a reminisce of their night together and in an instant he felt an irrepressible arouse, getting out of his mind he pinned her to the wall in a fist.

But just when he was about mess up, he had control and the mean words rush out of his lips

“I do not realize how shameless you are to come seduce the second time after what you did, do you really thought doing this will get my attention?” he asked with anger and mockery

“What are you talking about? You think so highly of yourself President Black” she had respond back not getting intimidated

“Really? I guess a night isn’t enough for the likes of you, should we have another one then? Right here? Right now?” he attempt to touch her in a careless way that enrage her, the hurt on her face was just something he wanted

If he could be mean to her, then the unwanted feelings will be gone.

When she tried to push him off again he didn’t fight it but rather move back from her and walk out of the office, not looking back.

He drove into the hospital and didn’t bother to park his car properly before heading off to the ward she’s in, when he open the door, he saw her sleeping peacefully but the moment he came near her, her eyes flick open and she jolted away from him

“Calm down” he said and pull her back, closer to him in an embrace

“I’m sorry” he said giving her a shock, Veronica chest pounded hard against his as they hugged

“What…”

“I’m forgiving you” he told her

“What!” she shriek, her voice louder than she intended.

Veronica’s eyes goggled in numbness as the news, she return the embrace by putting her hands around him, her mind trying to process the news

‘Is he really letting her go?’ she wondered to herself pretending to be happy with him.

In the night Kyler requested they sleep on the same bed like they used to and put the past behind them, he has also cheated on her too and treating her like a criminal is not going to settle things, the best is to keep the issue between them and become loving couples again.

Veronica nodded at this but deep down she is afraid of what he might do to her, Black is not someone to condone a cheat and whatever reason he’s letting her free and trying to forget everything remains a puzzle to her as his excuse doesn’t seems a good reason to her for letting go.

“Promise me you will never see him again” he demanded

“I promise” she said and lean in for a kiss on the forehead, hoping this last long.

Accepting a cheat is something he might have done but then becoming like his father is also a nightmare he wouldn’t want to happen, no matter what he hope to have a happy family and be the best husband and father.
