Yasmin felt dizzy as she take another sip of her glass of wine not sure if she was getting drunk she took yet another sip and drop the glass on one of the passing trays she decided to go find her Boss and inform him about her wanting to leave the party early

Her eyes search for him and she couldn’t see him anywhere in the large room or maybe her eyes are feeling a bit weak to see the hall clearly now still determine to find him

She sighted Talia from a distance and walk towards her she called to get her attention since she was busy talking to some other people in the party

“What’s wrong Yasmin? You don’t look good” she said observing her tired eyes

“I’m not sure but I feel so dizzy, where is Boss I can’t find him”

“I think he went to have a talk with the Ambassador minutes ago, I will tell him you are leaving”

Talia offered with a smile and Yasmin nodded at her and mouthed a thank you, she turn to leave but her legs suddenly felt wobble and she almost lost her balance she quickly hold on to something for support while she battle her eyes from closing up

Talia quickly rush to her and held her she rested her whole body on hers for support

“I don’t think you can leave here like this, how about you take a nap to wear off the dizziness”

Yasmin just slightly nodded her head feeling too dizzy to open her mouth it feel like her whole body was going through some pain.

Black empire just acquire a big success one that has never happen in the entire country and tonight’s party was to celebrate and make merry as much as possible

Ever since she started work in Black empire she hardly have time to hang out or get this drunk she always have to be available for him in case he needs her and also be responsible as his assistance but not having to drink for a long time seems to have effect on me as she seems to be feeling horrible right now.

Talia handed her the key card to the room and she sluggishly made her way upstairs trying hard not to fall down on the way soon she got to the door and unlock the door without bothering to turn on the lights she went straight for the bed and drop on it, she was about to close her eyes when she heard the door unlock and someone step in

Yasmin couldn’t see the person clearly because of the darkness overshadowing the room, her lips wanted to part up and ask who the fellow is but she found it too weak to move and she had to wait for whosoever it is to get to her

The approaching figure seems tall and was holding something in his hands Talia tried to stand up but her body was too tired to make a move she just lay with her heartbeat pondering at the thought of what the intruder might do to her

with few more steps the intruder got near the bed and sat down at the edge doing something Talia couldn’t see she tried holding her breath but the unbearable pain she was feeling makes it more difficult for her to do so her eyes are starting to give in to the drowsiness and she could barely hold her consciousness now that her senses were all giving in and she know she could no longer stop it from taking over her

Giving the tall man over her one last look she let her eyes embrace the deep sleep she’s been preventing but before she pass out she inhale the smell of his perfume a very familiar scent she will never forget not in this lifetime.

The bright morning light that shone inside the room made Talia open her eyes reluctantly she close them back almost immediately feeling too lazy to stand up she tried adjusting her body on the bed but then felt her bare skin touch something

‘Bare skin?’

she flinched a bit and open her eyes she turn to see who was with her on the bed, his back was facing her so she had to go the other way to see who it is seeing the face of her companion she let out a scream a mistake she wish she has never made because the intruder opened his eyes the instant she scream and turn his face to her, it was no intruder but Kyler Black her Boss at work.

For a moment they both stare at each other confused, Yasmin had her hands covering her mouth in shock while Kyler just stare at the woman in front of him in perplexity he doesn’t seems to get a grasp of the situation not until Yasmin remove the blanket covering her body and ran nakedly into the bathroom

“Yasmin?” he said in shock

pulling the blanket to check himself seeing that he was also naked he quickly put the blanket back over his body staring in space, he tried thinking about what the hell happened yesterday and how he got to the same room with her

it was obvious he spent the whole night with her and since he could feel it something sure happened between them something that should never have happened he heard his phone ring and look on the bed to find it not able to find it there he look down where the sound was coming from and saw his phone almost under the bed he pick it up and with a croaky voice he said a low hello to the caller

“President Black? Where were you since last night I’ve been trying to reach you since yesterday but you didn’t pick my calls, are you okay?”

Kyler look at the screen to be sure who was speaking seeing the name on the screen he cut the call and check his call log to check his missed calls

Twenty three missed calls but nine of them were from her he let out a relieve breath he drop his phone and held his throbbing head

‘what really happened yesterday night?” he wondered, he remember talking to the Ambassador and after that his parents called him to have a little talk and after that what happened? He tried thinking but his brains doesn’t seems to remember it at all.

Yasmin pace around the bathroom not sure what to do she thought of how her Boss ended up sleeping in the same room with her and have something together at that she remember last night when she felt dizzy and took the room key from Talia to take a short nap

Then the figure she saw entering the room and then she black out, is that figure her boss? She wondered still walking around the bathroom with no idea what to do, what happened could be nothing else but a disaster for her of all people to spend the night with

the thought that he’s still in the room and there’s no way she would go out of the bathroom without seeing him made her feel unease she thought of what else to do but nothing seems to be the option than go back into the room since all her things are in there with him plus the door to exit is there.

She pick up a towel from the set packed and walk noiselessly to the bathroom door, she peep to see the room she look around but couldn’t find him stupefied about the fact that he might have left her alone

Yasmin ran out of the bathroom into the room and met with his eyes immediately she came out fully into the room she instantly froze on the spot not sure what to do she look at him and saw he was already dressed up ready to leave he stare at her about to say something to her but at a second thought he pick up something from the drawer near the bed and walk out of the room leaving her in a daze.

The two glasses clink and Veronica smile at her victory she had just heard the news and receive the video from Conrad about their plan being a success

Yesterday was a day she’s been looking forward to and if she had missed it then she won’t be able to save herself from giving birth to Kyler’s child.

The thought of that almost made her lose herself, giving birth to his child is the last thing she ever wanted in life although she has married him against her wish and desire but she can’t endure having his blood grow inside of her and thanks to Conrad quick thinking they finally have a way to prevent her from getting pregnant.

The strong smell of Conrad’s Tobacco almost choke her and she place her glass on the counter as she squeeze her face at the repugnance odor

“Can you stop smoking that? You know I hate the smell of it” she complained and gave him one of her displeasure look while waiting for him to comply with her request, seeing her upset look Conrad sigh in frustration and put off the smoke

“Shouldn’t you be waiting for him? He should be back home anytime sooner” he asked taking her glass instead of his

“Kyler never gets angry with me neither will he fall out of my charm” she said with so much confidence and smile as he took a sip of her drink, watch for more minutes she planted a kiss on his lips and wanted to go further but he pull out

“What’s wrong?” she whined not liking the fact that he stopped her half way

“Veronica, we have a company here” he informed and turn his gaze to the bar attendant who stood near the counter with glances at them

“So what? I really need to get down with you, right now” she protested and pull in again this time she didn’t give him time to push her off but make him embrace her closer.

The mansion gate opened and Veronica drove in to the mansion as she drive to the large car park in the building she notice his black Lamborghini Veneno, it’s the same car he took to the party yesterday which means he’s already back in the house.

After parking her car properly she spray herself some cologne before exiting from the car, Kyler is sensitive and too much of it might arise suspicion so the lighter the better, she thought as she made her way inside the house straight to the private living room upstairs where she’s sure he would be.

As she walk in a bunch of maids working greeted her but she ignore the whole of them and focus her mind on getting to him.

Since childhood she has always admire this kind of life where people admire and stare at you for being so beautiful and fortunate and being born into a wealthy family she has always lived a life like a princess when she decided to settle down she has chosen to marry Kyler out of all the suitors who were after her then

not because she love him but he was the best candidate among all but after living as his woman for many years she began to lose interest and her hatred for him grows day by day seeing that he’s not ready to let her go

She wanted freedom and a new experience with another man and that other man is Conrad her husband illegimate and notorious brother.

“You know that has nothing to do giving me my usual dose” she said and lean in again but he pull away before she could have the chance

Veronica frown her face looking really upset even though she knew very well why he’s shirking a kiss with her but the thought of torturing him more propane her to make more moves on him

“What’s wrong sweetheart?” she called with bitterness in her voice as she sulk at his rejection

“Veronica, there is something I need to tell you” he said and took her to sit down, she followed obediently looking curiously at him

“Last night...” he begin and she look eagerly at him waiting for him to deliver the news himself then the last play she planned will happen

When he finish explaining yesterday’s incident to her, Veronica eyes were filled with tears as she stood up away from him, she clench her teeth in fury as she receive the news of his last night affair.

Kyler stare at her watching her action and being cautious so she wouldn’t harm herself, being who he is, it’s hard to keep the incident hidden and live his whole life deceiving her but he hated to see her in so much agony as well, he love her so much that he can’t bear to bring pain to her

“How could you Kyler?” she asked her body getting sweaty and her tears falling with so much difficult in her breathing

“I know how much hurt you are feeling right now and no matter what I say the feeling of betrayal will be hard to forget” he said standing up from his unease position

“Is that what you will say? Aren’t supposed to be sober and apologize for hurting me and betraying the promises you made to me? You promised not to share a bed with another woman” she said in a yell

“My sorry won’t change the fact that I did commit the crime of adultery” he said with a blunt face which Veronica couldn’t help but gurgle angrily at lack of emotion

“Did he really feel guilty about this?”

“Or did she make a mistake at her choice of victim?” she wondered as she gape at the guiltless expression on his face.

“I need some time to settle my feelings for you Kyler, I’m sorry but I can’t trust you again you broke my trust and hurt me so much” she cried in his arms and let him hug her in comfort as she continue in her pretentious agony.

Six weeks later…

Wearing a creamy long sleeve shirt with a knee leveled skirt to match and a heel, Yasmin walk into a café shop looking so different from her usual self, she ordered for a cappuccino and took it to cornered seat while she gets busy with her phone as she await someone.

An average height man walked into the same café shop and look around until his eyes settled on her, he smiles in acknowledgement and went ahead to get his own drink before approaching the table

“You look radiant today” he complimented as he got to her

“Thank you” she replied with a brighten expression while she took off her glasses and place them beside her cup

“I’m sorry I’m late”

“No I’m just a bit earlier” she said and clean her mouth with the tissue on the table

“You look so ready to visit old friends today” he said and Yasmin nodded with much confident

“Old friends? More like old enemies” she replied and shared a smile with him, they both focus on their drink for a while and after that decide to leave

“Shall we go?” he asked and Yasmin nodded readily.

They got outside where the driver was waiting and entered the car, before the car took off he takes her hand

“If you feel nervous just lean on me, I’m here to help”

“I don’t think that will be necessary I can manage just fine” she reply him with an assuring smile and he smile back

“Let’s go” he said to the driver who nodded and start the car engine.

The shiny bright sign reads Black empire upfront and the car halt there, two people got out of the vehicle and the driver went ahead to park the car. They both stare at each other momentously before proceeding inside the company.

Lot of eyes settled on them as they walk to the elevator, they both snub the inquisitive and odd looks and proceed to the eight floor as that’s their destination.

The moment they walk in, eyes settled on them again but this time on this particular person who seems familiar to most of them, they watch as they both stroll directly to the meeting room.

The door opens and everyone’s head snap to the door to see who is it that just arrived, after ten seconds of the door being opened, they both step in creating attentions to theirselves.

Some stood up in recognition while some remain seated while they await them to take their seats, they were lead to their seats just as the right side of the cabin but then just as they are about to be seated a hand snapped diverting everyone

“What is she doing here?” he asked with a puckered brow

“What do you mean President Black? She’s with me” he answered with a mischievous smirk seeing that he’s not convince, he gave a little laugh and gesture to her introduce herself

“Hello, I’m Yasmin Cassidy, representing ARON” she introduced and Kyler saw the obvious malicious smirk on her lips.

“I’m back Kyler Black and this time I’m going to pay you back in the same coins you paid me” she said inwardly and take her seat right after him.

The atmosphere of the felt frosty after and everyone stare in tension at the feelings being passed across the room, not knowing what is the cause for the sudden change mood

After waiting for a while for both parties to speak to continue the party, the others in the room begin to clear up their throat to gain their attention back to the main purpose of the meeting

“Do you feel ill?” he suddenly face one of the senior manager who keeps coughing up

“No President Black, I’m sorry” he apologize and adjust himself on the seat.

“Like I introduced earlier I’m Yasmin and I will be working together with you all for the new venture which the two great companies will be starting soon” she explained

She felt his eyes on her but made sure to compose herself and make sure her eyes doesn’t glance at him for a second rather she look focus at the others

“I will like to introduce the President of ARON, Mr. Thompson Bays” she announced and everyone greeted him formally

“And also Mr. Bays, this is President Kyler Crust Black” she said and put on a professional smile as she introduce them formally

“I’m sure there’s no need for that”

“Of course there is, this is afterall a formal business meeting” she said keeping the smile on her face.

“Why don’t we talk about the new business now?” Thompson suggested and ended the rising heat between the two.

Thirty minutes to the meeting and Yasmin was already feeling irritated, she glare at him for the fifth time since he begin his talk, she stare down at the original proposal on the table and feel exasperated as his words

“I don’t think that makes much of a sense” she burst out and the others who had their attention on him turned them on her after hearing her sentence

“What?” he asked not believing his ears, did she just interrupt him?

“Practically you will be changing the whole proposal for the business which wasn’t what was agreed on by the two parties, it will be going against the agreement” she said and took a gulp from the bottle water in front of her

“I don’t think I need to listen to a common representative while the president of the company is here” he remarked and ignore her

“Are you saying you are disregarding my presence that could be count as a disrespect on ARON” she continued determined to piss him off

“I doubt you came for something else than the business being discussed”

“Why would you think that? What else will I come to Black to do rather than talk about the new business?”

this time everyone look on wondering where their discussion is heading but Yasmin can’t careless about the stares and murmur, she has a determined look in her eyes

“I find you talking back at me disrespectful woman” he said his voice raised than intended she seems to be getting to him now

“You sound as disrespectful too” she returned

“You are crossing the line Yasmin” he yell this time fuming with his hands in a fist

“You crossed that line first when you fired me for no reason Mr. Black” she let out and gave a deep breathe

“It’s President Black” he corrected sternly

“Oops my bad”

“Miss Cassidy I think you should stop now” the person sitting next to her tried to persuade her to stop

“What? I’m just being concerned since President Black here is somewhere who might run away from responsibilities when he feel lost” she answered and cross her arms

“I need you out of this meeting and project!” Kyler yell at her standing up at his feet having the last of it, the insult is too much for him to condone and he cannot take it any longer neither can he stand her impudent.

“You can no longer order me or make decision about me, I no longer work for you remember” she resorted

They both had a tug of stares before Kyler finally exit the room after threatening to end his company contract with ARON.

Back to the Café Thompson went to the counter to get her a cold soda to cool down, he handed it to her and watch her drink it at a go almost finishing the content of the tall glass

Thompson laughed the rigid manner in which she drinks and gave a tissue to clear her lips “you went too far Yasmin” he said after seeing her calm face

“I’m sorry I just couldn’t hold it” she said and put down the tissue

“I understand but daring Black is like daring poverty”

“what are we going to do now?” she asked feeling guilt-ridden for her unthoughtful actions, when she had saw her back then looking so good and guiltless after rendering her jobless make her so pissed off that she couldn’t contain her anger anymore

“We have to beg him now, that’s the only way to please him and make sure the contract is secured for ARON”

“I’m really sorry Mr. Bays” she apologize sincerely even though she knows her apologize is useless

“Don’t worry Yasmin, just focus on you main goal and things will be fine” he said and smile to her face watching her closely, Yasmin nodded and took her drink to finish it.

Right, she just need to do as planned and things will be alright, she will be able to let go of her hatred for him only after defeating him and making him give an apology.
