Chapter 3
"Just sign it. It's selfish not to let go of such a handsome man. I know you work so hard to chase after him in the first place, but you're doomed to end up with a divorce. So don't ravish him against his will."
The staff kept looking at the three of us with a gossiping expression. Noticing that I had been quiet, they looked at me in a scrutinizing manner.
I knew what this look meant. They thought my appearance didn't match Pierre's handsome face.
I looked up and glanced at the badge in front of her, and said lightly.
"Are you speaking on behalf of your department? Aren't you afraid that I will complain about what you just said?"
"I didn't say anything. If you've made up your mind, just sign it quickly."
The staff immediately shrunk their necks and went back to their workstations, pretending to be busy.
"Elaina! I don't have time to waste with you. You have to sign today even if you don't want to!"
"Be calm. You look really ugly when you're so furious. I want to revise the divorce agreement, otherwise, I won't sign it."
Pierre seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and asked.
"What do you want?"
Jazlynn also looked at me with a guarded expression.
"I want half of your property, and I also request financial compensation. Well, I think our daughter should stay with you."
No one wanted such a ruthless daughter!
Whenever I thought of Alisha, I felt disappointed.
In my previous life, I worked day and night to support her education and send her to university. But how did she treat me? She was truly ungrateful.
Pierre and Alisha were both ungrateful people.
I didn't want either of them anymore, and I wouldn't let them off easily, including Jazlynn, the mistress.
"Half? That's a lot! In our eight years of marriage, have you earned any money for the family? You've always been spending my money, and now you're saying you want half. You've gone mad!"
When Pierre heard that I changed my mind and wanted half, he was so angry that he started cursing at me.
He no longer had the gentle and refined demeanor he used to have.
Jazlynn furrowed her eyebrows and her eyes were full of anger.
The staff members also leaned in to watch.
I ignored the three of them, reached out and touched my hair, and said slowly.
"If you don't agree, I won't sign. Let me remind you. If I sue you for cheating in marriage, you will have to give more than half!
"I have plenty of time to go through all the procedures. If you don't give it, then I won't sign."
Jazlynn became anxious and pulled Pierre's hand. I knew that Jazlynn was more anxious than me. She was pregnant and would give birth in a few months.
After thinking about it, I thought half of the property seemed not that enough.
"Alright, I'll give it to you. Half of it, okay? I can't believe you're so ruthless."
"You flatter me. Come over and sign now."
I looked at Pierre's reluctant appearance and felt satisfied.
Chapter 4
Divorce was not the end, but the beginning of a new life.
The first step to starting my new life would be losing weight.
I came to a large fitness institution in the city, and the receptionist at the front desk welcomed me warmly.
Maybe it was because of my body shape. I was indeed their precise target customer.
I planned to join a personal training class so that the weight loss effect would be more significant.
A girl showed me around, and I was quite satisfied with this place. More importantly, it was close to my new home, so I could walk there. It was so convenient for me.
"Which client would like you with such a fat appearance? Can you bring any confidence to them?"
Passing by a room, I heard a man inside shouting, so I stopped and took a few more glances out of curiosity.
A man who looked like a manager in a suit was pointing at a tall and fat man, and his words were very harsh.
"I will work hard."
"What's the use of working hard? There are always some people who work hard and can get nothing!"
I asked the girl next to me who that person was.
She said he was the fitness instructor.
I widened my eyes. His figure showed no sign of a fitness instructor. No wonder the manager scolded him.
"He wasn't like this before. It's because he broke up with a girl. He indulged in food and didn't manage his figure, so he became like this. He hasn't had any clients for several months, so the company wants to fire him."
"A person should have self-awareness and shame. You've gained weight, not become stupid. I made it very clear. You're fired."
I looked at the man, bowing his head under the scolding of the manager, and recalled my previous life.
In my previous life, I also became fat and got many disdainful looks. But we just gained some weight. We didn't do anything wrong.
That day when I caught Pierre and Jazlynn, I heard Jazlynn say, "Your wife is so fat, and you can still bear her. Don't you feel disgusted?"
Being fat had become a reason for my husband's infidelity.
"So what if we're fat? We did nothing wrong. Being fat is not a big deal."
With overflowing sympathy, I rushed over and scolded the manager.
"Who are you? Why are you here?"
"I'm just passing by and can't stand you insulting him!"
The manager's face turned red out of anger, and he raised his hand as if he wanted to hit me. But the fat man pulled me and protected me behind him.
I smelled a faint scent of perfume on him. It was a refreshing scent.
"Mr. Wood, this is our guest. She came here for the private coaching class!"
The girl pulled the manager quickly and shouted. Her posture seemed like she was trying to stop a fight.
"Yes, I want him to be my fitness instructor!"
Hearing my words, everyone present was shocked, including myself.
Actually, I just wanted to help someone of the same kind, so I blurted out. Now I could only keep my word.
"He has a client now, so you can't fire him!"
No one had come to my place except for delivery drivers and couriers.
Today, unexpectedly, rare guests arrived. It was Pierre and his daughter, the murderer and his accomplice.
"What is it?"
I only opened the door a little and stood at the entrance, not wanting them to come in.
I hadn't seen Alisha for two months. In my previous life, I loved her so much that I would skip meals to save money for her.
But now, when I saw her, I felt an inexplicable pain in my body, a pain that seemed to corrode my internal organs.
She was no longer my beloved daughter who I would work hard and earn money for, but an accomplice who watched her father harm her mother and could still laugh about it.
Demons didn't discriminate by age.
Today, the two demons came to my door.
