Chapter 1
After my husband Pierre Cohen cheated on me with my best friend Jazlynn Pineda, I left with only my daughter Alisha Cohen.
I had two jobs a day to finally support her through college.
However, on the day of my daughter's graduation, my ex-husband and my best friend poisoned me. It was my daughter who bought the poison!
My daughter said that if I hadn't taken her away that year, she would have lived in a great mansion and driven luxury cars with my best friend.
She blamed me for making her live as a poor person for fifteen years. She hated me.
When I woke up, I was back on the day of the divorce.
My husband regretted it.

"Pierre, what did you make me drink?"
Pierre had just forcibly held me down and poured a glass of liquid with a strange taste into my mouth.
As soon as I drank it, my throat started burning with pain.
"It's a poison, which Alisha asked her classmate to buy from the countryside.
"I was thinking that if you cooperate, I won't force you to drink it.
"Unexpectedly, you just won't give in! Where is the deed? We were once a couple. Just take it as a help for me."
"No way!"
Pierre forced me to have poison because I refused to give him the deed.
"You're about to die, so why are you hiding the deed? Give it to me."
Jazlynn sat on the sofa and spoke.
Since she entered the door, she had been acting like a bystander, watching Pierre harm me and Alisha mock me.
I could feel the tearing pain on my body, howling and looking at Alisha.
"Alisha, I am your mother. We have been living together for so many years, but why are you helping your father kill me?
"I am your daughter, but why did you treat me like this?
"If you hadn't taken me away when you divorced Dad and I had stayed with Jazlynn, I would have been the daughter of a wealthy family. Bailey Cooper has left me because of my family background, and he's dating a wealthy girl in our class! He doesn't love me anymore!
"It's because of you. You should have just lived your own life since you're so poor. Why did you have to make me suffer with you?
"I feel like I've been cursed for being your daughter!"
Pierre became impatient and started rummaging through the room.
"Stop talking to her and find where the deed is! Where did she hide? I can't find it."
I lay on the ground, curled up, and struggled to open my eyes to look at my daughter, whom I had raised with great difficulty and the man who had once said he loved me. They had become so strange and terrifying.
I struggled to prop myself up and crawled towards Alisha, only able to touch her pants leg.
"Alisha, please save Mommy. I'm in so much pain."
Alisha kicked me away and helped Pierre rummage through my wardrobe, throwing all the clothes on the floor. Finally, they found the property deed in the extra layer.
This house was left to me by my parents, and I never thought about selling it even though I had a difficult life afterward.
That was the only thing I left for Alisha.
The only valuable thing I had.
Alisha gave the property deed to her father, and Pierre finally smiled.
Once I got money after selling this house, my company would be saved.
Alisha waved at me and said.
"I'm going to attend the graduation party. As for you, by the time I come back home in a few days, you'll probably be dead. Don't worry. I've prepared a farewell letter for you. Goodbye."
Looking at their backs as they left, I fell into a coma painfully.
"Elaina? Elaina Obrien!"
I suddenly woke up and looked at Pierre in front of me, and then looked at the divorce agreement in my hand.
Was I back to life?
"What else do you want to do? Sign it now! We're in a hurry. Jazlynn has to go for a prenatal check-up later."
"I won't sign it."
I put down the pen and held my trembling hand.
As soon as I finished speaking, Pierre, the man who was about to become my ex-husband, lost his temper.
"What do you mean? Elaina, didn't we reach an agreement? Don't tell me you're regretting it now."
Chapter 2
I looked at his angry face as if seeing a funny clown. Why did I love him so much before? I regretted it.
He pursued me for two years before I agreed to be with him. He kept saying he loved me. But what happened? He poisoned me to death!
"Elaina, why don't you just give in? It's not good for you to continue. He doesn't love you anymore. Why are you still pestering him?"
These words came from my good friend Jazlynn, my former best friend.
Now, she would be the wife of my soon-to-be ex-husband.
I treated her as my best friend, but she fell in love with my husband.
Pierre wanted to divorce me and came with the pregnant mistress. He was shameless.
Jazlynn was my dance studio partner. I hadn't returned to my previous figure since I got married and gave birth to a baby. She said she would take care of the studio for me, so I could stay at home with the child.
She would take half of the income.
Although that was not much money, I was touched. I thought having a best friend like her was a blessing for me, but it turned out she had other motives.
She wanted to replace me as Pierre's wife.
I had been fooled by them for eight years.
Since I gave birth to the child, I got fat. Pierre and Jazlynn had been fooling me. Jazlynn said it was okay as long as I was healthy, and Pierre said that I should stay at home as a housewife.
I had listened to them obediently for eight years.
In my previous life, I signed a divorce agreement and didn't ask Pierre for a penny, just for the custody of our daughter.
I thought the studio could support me and my daughter's future life, but Jazlynn said the studio had already closed. The money she gave me every month before was just to pity me.
So, in my previous life, I was penniless and had an eight-year-old daughter. My bloated figure determined that I couldn't be a dance teacher anymore.
I could only find a job as a hotel cleaner and sell sausages on the street for a few dollars each at night.
Life was very hard for me at that time.
Now that I had a chance to start over, I wouldn't be so foolish again!
I held the pen and stared at the divorce agreement in front of me, calculating.
Chapter 3
"Just sign it. It's selfish not to let go of such a handsome man. I know you work so hard to chase after him in the first place, but you're doomed to end up with a divorce. So don't ravish him against his will."
The staff kept looking at the three of us with a gossiping expression. Noticing that I had been quiet, they looked at me in a scrutinizing manner.
I knew what this look meant. They thought my appearance didn't match Pierre's handsome face.
I looked up and glanced at the badge in front of her, and said lightly.
"Are you speaking on behalf of your department? Aren't you afraid that I will complain about what you just said?"
"I didn't say anything. If you've made up your mind, just sign it quickly."
The staff immediately shrunk their necks and went back to their workstations, pretending to be busy.
"Elaina! I don't have time to waste with you. You have to sign today even if you don't want to!"
"Be calm. You look really ugly when you're so furious. I want to revise the divorce agreement, otherwise, I won't sign it."
Pierre seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and asked.
"What do you want?"
Jazlynn also looked at me with a guarded expression.
"I want half of your property, and I also request financial compensation. Well, I think our daughter should stay with you."
No one wanted such a ruthless daughter!
Whenever I thought of Alisha, I felt disappointed.
In my previous life, I worked day and night to support her education and send her to university. But how did she treat me? She was truly ungrateful.
Pierre and Alisha were both ungrateful people.
I didn't want either of them anymore, and I wouldn't let them off easily, including Jazlynn, the mistress.
"Half? That's a lot! In our eight years of marriage, have you earned any money for the family? You've always been spending my money, and now you're saying you want half. You've gone mad!"
When Pierre heard that I changed my mind and wanted half, he was so angry that he started cursing at me.
He no longer had the gentle and refined demeanor he used to have.
Jazlynn furrowed her eyebrows and her eyes were full of anger.
The staff members also leaned in to watch.
I ignored the three of them, reached out and touched my hair, and said slowly.
"If you don't agree, I won't sign. Let me remind you. If I sue you for cheating in marriage, you will have to give more than half!
"I have plenty of time to go through all the procedures. If you don't give it, then I won't sign."
Jazlynn became anxious and pulled Pierre's hand. I knew that Jazlynn was more anxious than me. She was pregnant and would give birth in a few months.
After thinking about it, I thought half of the property seemed not that enough.
"Alright, I'll give it to you. Half of it, okay? I can't believe you're so ruthless."
"You flatter me. Come over and sign now."
I looked at Pierre's reluctant appearance and felt satisfied.
