Chapter 4

Sasha smiled in satisfaction. She even happily intertwined her fingers with Harry's and led him off to a nearby private room. The walls weren't soundproofed, which meant I could hear the clamor inside as the occupants shared a toast.

"Mr. White, this is my husband, Harry Upton," Sasha introduced.

"It's such good news to hear that you're pregnant, Ms. Fuller! Congratulations! Once my new store is open for business, you and your husband must come by for a visit!"

"We certainly will," she replied.

My face turned ashen, my throat tightening.

It turned out that everyone knew Sasha was involved with Harry. I, her legally married husband, was the only one who had been kept in the dark.

This explained why everyone felt Sasha hadn't done anything wrong. I glanced mockingly at the divorce agreement I was holding, feeling a chill that sank deep into my bones.

"Carry out the rest of the divorce procedure, Mr. Jennings. Out of consideration for our marriage, I'll settle for just half of our marital assets."

As it turned out, the business deal with Mr. Lewis ended up running into a hitch after all. We were just about to sign the contract when Harry stumbled into our private room, looking completely inebriated.

"Hey, you! Get out! Who the hell do you think you are?" Harry bellowed brazenly as he wagged his finger at Mr. Lewis.

My chest tightened. I was just about to apologize to Mr. Lewis when Harry punched me in the face, giving me a black eye. "You're just a kept man leeching off his wife's family! Soon, you'll be completely useless. I can't even tell what Sasha ever saw in you!"

Mr. Lewis slammed his hand on the table in anger. "Mr. Graham, is this how Fuller Group treats its potential business partners?"

"This is just a misunderstanding, Mr. Lewis. Let me… explain." I was sweating profusely.

Just as I was about to tell someone to get rid of Harry, Sasha came barreling in after hearing the commotion. Her gaze turned cold as she declared, "Don't you dare touch Harry!"

She quickly supported Harry, looking rather anxious.

"Maybe you should just send me away sooner rather than later, Sasha," Harry said pitifully. "C-Colin is definitely going to get me killed. I'm scared."

His eyes reddened.

Overwhelmed with a sense of powerlessness, I was just about to clarify the situation when Sasha kicked me in the calf and said, "Kneel, Colin! Apologize to Harry!"

Her expression was cold and dark. I'd never seen her look this menacing before.

"I know you don't like Harry, but I never thought you'd be this vicious. He was only out of my sight for a few minutes, and you're already so eager to kill him?" she growled.

As the bodyguards around us stood poised to take action, I gritted my teeth and stared right back at Sasha, declaring, "I did no such thing!"

"Get on your knees and apologize, Colin, and I'll consider this matter settled," Sasha demanded mercilessly.

Even Mr. Lewis was now staring wide-eyed.

With a mix of hurt and despair, I closed my eyes and instructed my subordinates, "Escort Mr. Lewis out of here."

Sasha didn't know that she had just personally destroyed the deal that could have revived Fuller Group. The company's fate had rested on securing this contract.

Before leaving, Mr. Lewis said hesitatingly, "Let's just forget about it, Mr. Graham. You should focus on settling your family matters first."

I was completely done. With my heart turning to stone, I walked off without hesitation.

While packing my things back at the house, I got a message from Sasha.

"You beat up Harry so badly that he was almost disfigured. You'd better get your ass over here tonight and apologize."

The matter-of-fact tone of her message made it clear she fully believed that I was the one at fault.

Without responding to her message, I left for good that very night.

The next morning, Marcus came to see Sasha. She was pretty puzzled when she took the document he held out to her.

But when she saw the words on the front page, her expression immediately fell. Her fingers trembled as she made a call, but it went unanswered.

As she recalled my cold expression from last night, she started to panic.

She thought it was impossible. It couldn't be happening.

After tossing aside the document, she went back to the house in a daze. Even before she opened the door to the master bedroom, she clung to a sliver of hope.

"Colin, don't get jealous over something so insignificant, okay?"

Alas, the bedroom was empty. I was long gone.
