Chapter 1

Despite having been married for 25 years now, my wife, Sasha Fuller, and I have done it less than ten times.

During our 25th wedding anniversary, however, Sasha, who has always claimed to be uninterested in intimacy, ends up doing it 30 times with a male escort at a clubhouse.

The couch ends up completely drenched.

This is when I realize just how wrong I've been all along.

Even after her betrayal is exposed, Sasha adamantly refuses to admit to any wrongdoing. On the contrary, she starts condemning me.

Hurt and upset, I proceed to spend three days arguing with her about it.

Even my friends and relatives try to talk me down.

"You two have been married for over 20 years now. She's even the CEO of Fuller Group. What's the big deal if she sleeps with a male escort? Don't end your marriage over something this trivial."

"All these years, a live-in son-in-law like you only managed to establish yourself with the help of the Fuller family anyway. Don't be so ungrateful."

With my heart in anguish, I look at Sasha and say, "Cut off all contact with him, and things between us can go back to the way they used to be."

However, Sasha retrieves a pregnancy test report from her briefcase and silently takes off her wedding ring. "Colin, I'm already 45 years old. Even if you can't have children, you can't expect me to go my whole life without one as well, right?"

She strokes her belly without the slightest trace of guilt in her eyes. "If you insist on making a big deal over this, then I have no choice but to divorce you."

My hands, hidden by my sleeves, clench into fists briefly before falling lax again.

"Let's get a divorce then."

Not only am I going to get a divorce, but I'm going to give Sasha and her affair partner a big surprise.

I returned home exhausted, only to hear the sultry moans of my wife, Sasha Fuller, coming from the bedroom.

After realizing she'd been discovered, she not only showed no remorse, but she even allowed her young boy toy, Harry Upton, to taunt me.

Harry's eyes were full of mockery as he declared, "What right does an impotent man like you have to expect her to stay loyal to you? You're just a kept man who married into the Fuller family. You only managed to latch onto her before I did. What gives you the right to point fingers at me?"

Even more ironic was what happened next.

After the affair became known among our relatives and friends, everyone came to "talk some sense" into me. Not a single person rebuked Sasha for her behavior.

After mocking me, Harry swaggered out of my house. Sasha, who had always been eloquent, became somewhat quiet. She hesitated for some time before finally saying, "Let me explain, Colin. This isn't what you think it is."

It felt as if a net was tightening around my heart, squeezing it.

"Are you trying to tell me everything I just saw wasn't real?" I questioned Sasha angrily, demanding to know why she had betrayed our marriage.

Sasha's expression stiffened and gradually turned a little unpleasant. She swallowed a few times before saying, "I'm a woman, Colin. Throughout our 25-year marriage, you haven't been able to satisfy me. Is it wrong of me to find someone else to fulfill my needs?"

Feeling like I'd been struck by lightning, I was rendered speechless.

She'd calmly described the situation in that manner, subtly accusing me of being the immature one. Yet her nonchalant explanation filled me with nothing but bitterness.

It was Sasha who told me that she had no interest in intimacy. As a result, I never tried to force her into anything. To protect her from possible gossip, I even faked a medical report that classified me as impotent.

But now, that was the evidence she used to attack me.

A suffocating feeling filled my chest. I felt too choked up to even speak.

27 years ago, my family, the Grahams, was brought to the brink of collapse. My parents had died as a result of someone else's malicious schemes. In my darkest hour, it was Sasha who personally brought her people over to support me, allowing me to preserve the last of my family's business empire.

After that, she pursued me relentlessly, only to face opposition from her parents.

Later on, I willingly married into the Fuller family, becoming their live-in son-in-law instead. It was partly because I was moved by her devotion and partly to repay the debt of gratitude I owed her.

But never did I ever expect her to completely forget the promises she once made.

My heart was stinging sharply, the pain welling up inside of me with no escape.

After arguing with Sasha for three days, I finally chose to compromise.

"Cut off all contact with him, and things between us can go back to the way they used to be," I said, with my eyes closed in pain.

However, Sasha took out a pregnancy test report and stroked her abdomen, her gaze gentle as she declared, "I only have one condition, Colin. I must keep this child."

My eyes widened in shock.

Sasha's parents, Albert Fuller and Molly Hurst, had spent close to two decades urging us to have a child. Out of nowhere, they'd stopped nagging us about it three months ago.

At the time, I thought they'd finally given up.

Well, it turned out that Sasha had come up with another plan long ago. She'd decided to have someone else's baby without telling me about it.

"That's not going to happen," I declared, my words clear and firm.

Sasha silently removed the wedding ring from her finger. "Colin, I'm already 45 years old. Even if you can't have children, you can't expect me to go my whole life without one as well, right?"

She continued to stroke her belly, not a trace of guilt in her eyes as she continued, "If you insist on making a big deal over this, then I have no choice but to divorce you."

My entire body stiffened slightly. The truth was on the tip of my tongue, but the words felt powerless. "Actually, I'm not impotent. The medical report was—"

It was a fake one.

However, at the very next second, Sasha's expression filled with disgust. "Aren't you being too selfish, Colin? Just because you can't have children, you want to take away my right to be a mother, too?"

Her sharp, accusatory words rang in my ears. She claimed the moral high ground and condemned me for being the cruel, selfish one.

At that very moment, I suddenly lost all interest in telling her the truth. My hands, hidden beneath my sleeves, clenched briefly before unfurling limply.

Slowly, I said, "Let's get a divorce, then."

Chapter 2

My eyes were red as I reined in the mix of hurt and grievance I felt. When Sasha saw how upset I was, a flicker of remorse flashed across her expression.

"I'm sorry, Colin. I just desperately want a child of my own. You can't have children anyway. Since this child is already here, why not just keep it? It'll also allow you to fulfill your dream of becoming a father.

"As for Harry…" Sasha said with a frown. "I'll just give him a sum of money and send him away."

My chest tightened. "I can't accept a child like this. Abort the child, and there might still be a chance for us to salvage our relationship."

"Never." Sasha's tone suddenly sharpened, her gaze filling with anger. "I've already made concessions. Why must you insist on killing my child? This child will call you Dad in the future. If you truly love me, you should accept this child. Is that really so difficult for you?"

Chuckling bleakly, I looked at her, my eyes flooded with sorrow and despair. "I'm not in the habit of raising another man's child."

Sasha's expression wavered a little.

It was bad enough that my wife had cheated on me, but she was even expecting me to raise some other man's child.

Sasha took a deep breath before saying with an exasperated expression, "I won't agree to a divorce. I'm just going to wait until you come back to your senses."

With that, she turned and left the house.

That evening, just before I headed into a restaurant for a business meeting, I got an apologetic message from Sasha.

"I'm sorry for putting you in this difficult position, Colin. I'll be stepping down as CEO next month and passing it to you instead. Don't be mad anymore. I'm going to attend one last business negotiation now. I'm sure you'll love the baby once it's born."

Pursing my lips, I stared at her message for ages, feeling nothing but anger. Did this count as her attempt to placate me?

After a self-deprecating laugh, I pocketed my phone. But when I turned around, I saw Sasha and Harry right at the entrance of the restaurant.

This was her so-called business negotiation, huh?

My eyes flashed with mockery.

Sasha used to come home late pretty often, but I never once suspected her of anything. Thinking about it now, however, I realized that the sight I was seeing must have happened countless times before.

Sasha and Harry stood at the entrance of the restaurant, kissing passionately without being the least bit concerned for who might see them. It was clear what their intimacy implied about their relationship.

And when I appeared in their line of sight, Sasha didn't get to wipe the look of blissful satisfaction in time. "C-Colin?"

Sasha and Harry hurriedly separated, but the traces of their kiss on the corners of their mouths continued to mock me for being such a fool.

"Is this the business negotiation you were referring to, Sasha?" I asked, my eyes cold from the fury pent up inside of me.

After a moment of panic, Sasha frowned. "Are you… following me?"

"If I came any later, you two might've started getting it on right in public," I remarked with a self-mocking smile.

Sasha looked mortified at having been caught in the act, but Harry simply eyed me with disdain while saying to her, "He's just a kept man who's leeching off your family, Ms. Fuller. Why bother showing him any courtesy?"

"Don't say that, Harry," Sasha chided softly.

I simply walked off. A 25-year marriage, and all the love that came with it, had been reduced to nothing but trash. The sight of them all wrapped up in each other's arms had stung my eyes.

For the last 25 years, I willingly devoted myself to being the son-in-law of the Fuller family. I focused my attention on managing Fuller Group for Sasha and helping her through every obstacle. Yet all I got in return was betrayal.

Feeling completely disheartened, I stepped into the restaurant.

Sasha called out from behind to explain, "That was just a misunderstanding, Colin! You must believe me."

My expression remained cold and impassive. Once I closed this final business deal, it would mark the end of my duty to Sasha and the Fullers. I'd long since repaid them for everything I owed them.

I sent a message to my lawyer, Marcus Jennings. "Help me draft a divorce agreement."

Chapter 3

Over dinner, I exchanged some pleasantries with the client, Benedict Lewis, before swiftly getting down to business.

"I'll need some time to think this over, Mr. Graham," Mr. Lewis said eventually.

He needed time to make a decision.

With an understanding smile, I headed off to the restroom to smoke a cigarette.

Unexpectedly, Harry followed me into the restroom and said tauntingly, "Say, Colin, what was the use in becoming the Fuller family's live-in son-in-law anyway? You're not getting any of the family's assets, and you didn't even get to sleep with your wife more than a handful of times.

"You probably have no idea just how wild she is in bed, huh? She can blow the roof off with her moans, you know. It's music to my ears."

It felt as if I just got stabbed in the heart.

Harry cackled even more smugly before whispering into my ear, "Feeling envious? It's too bad you've got a defective dick. Keep up the good work of slaving away for my son and me. Once my son inherits all of the Fuller family's shares, I'll be sure to let him honor you as his godfather."

What was that?

My mind went blank.

Face flushing with anger, I grabbed Harry by the collar and demanded to know what he meant by that.

"Oh? Haven't you heard? Ms. Fuller signed the share transfer agreement long ago. In the future, all of the Fuller family's assets will belong to my son," Harry arrogantly declared, showing no fear at all.

I froze in shock.

I'd spent so many years working my butt off to make Fuller Group what it was, but Sasha was going to hand it over to someone else on a silver platter?

Ten years ago, Fuller Group had fallen into decline, while Graham Group, which I'd founded from the remnants of my family's business, was booming. To save Fuller Group, I transferred a massive amount of funds from Graham Group.

It wouldn't be wrong to say that, without me, the Fullers would've gone bankrupt ages ago. The family's current net worth was basically the result of my achievements.

Just then, there was some noise at the door, and Sasha came marching in with a livid expression. Her eyes filled with tender concern when she saw the mark on Harry's face. "Who hurt you?"

Harry cast a hurt and aggrieved look my way.

Sasha froze for a second before her expression turned cold. "Apologize to him, Colin!"

"What's the matter, Ms. Fuller?" I sneered. "Are you feeling bad for your little plaything?"

I had never spoken to her in such a tone before. She froze instantly, her lips parting slightly.

Covering his face, Harry cried out in despair, "I know I shouldn't be here, but I was just worried about Sasha's baby. You're her husband, but what have you done besides rebuking her? When have you ever shown any concern for her health or her feelings?"

Sasha's expression hardened at once. Those words clearly struck a chord with her. She looked at me and declared, "I already agreed to your demand and decided to stop seeing Harry. Why must you still humiliate him like this?"

Rage surged in my chest. I had to clench my teeth to keep my body from trembling. "I won't apologize. Why should I? I've never seen a husband being forced to apologize to his wife's male escort before.

"You cheated on me and got pregnant with his baby. Not only do you expect me to raise his child, but you even want to snatch away the business that I built up with my own hands? You even expect me to apologize to him! Why am I supposed to let you get everything you want, huh?"

The more I said, the angrier I became.

A mere second later, I was slapped hard across the face. Sasha glared coldly at me. "I'm so disappointed in you, Colin. When did you get this selfish? This child is mine, too. Have you ever stopped to consider my feelings?

"Harry's right. You're just a kept man who's been leeching off my family. You should know your place. Even if you're my husband in name, you have no right to get physical with Harry!"

My eyes widened in disbelief. I'd shared a bed with Sasha for 25 years. Yet, I never knew that was what she'd thought of me.

No wonder she cheated on me.

At first, I could still tell myself that Sasha had been led astray. I could even find excuses for her by convincing myself that she'd been tricked into signing away the shares.

But there was no way for me to unhear the words she just said.

Harry took Sasha's arm and looked at me with a victorious expression, his smile smug.

Marcus, who'd just happened to show up at this very moment, had an awkward look as he handed me a document.

Chuckling to myself, I remarked, "That's true. I'm just a kept man. I should know my place."

With the document in hand, I walked up to Sasha and said humbly, "I have here a work document that is in urgent need of your signature, Ms. Fuller."

Sasha didn't doubt my words. After signing the document, she even admonished me, "Don't ever do something so unreasonable again."

"Got it," I replied.

After all, she'd signed the divorce papers. She couldn't hurt me anymore. I wasn't going to allow myself to spend another second feeling upset over her.
