Chapter 3

Things turned more and more interesting, and I was more and more curious about Gilbert.

How dare he cheat others under the name of my family?

I was about to drive to catch up with Gilbert when Wallace called me.

"Hello, what can I do for you?"

"I wanted to ask you what kind of design you wanted our company to make, but now there is something more important."

"Is there anything more important than mine?" Wallace asked dissatisfiedly.

"Help me investigate a man."

As soon as I finished my words, Wallace got excited.

"A man? Who is he? Do you have a boyfriend behind my back?"

"Stop talking nonsense. He’s from the same village as my dad. He depended on my dad and joined our company. However, I found that he was strange. Can you help me investigate him?"

Wallace finally felt relieved after hearing what I said.

Wallace was my childhood friend. We grew up together. After high school, he went abroad to study, while I didn't go abroad.

Although we were thousands of miles apart, we had always kept in touch.

The next day, it was almost time to get off work. Everyone was waiting to laugh at me, but I handed the design plan to Alisha on time.

Alisha took my design plan with surprise and opened it in doubt.

After reading it, Alisha fell silent. Then, she closed the plan and smiled at me.

"I've read the plan. It's pretty good. You can go home early today. I'll give it to the Collins Group for review tomorrow."

I went back to my workstation to pack up my things, but I heard noises from Linda. A group of people surrounded her.

"Linda, is it a Chanel bag?"

"It must be expensive. Linda, it isn't a fake one, is it?"

Linda rolled her eyes at the one, who asked the question, and handed the bag to her.

"Of course, it's not fake. How can I carry a fake bag?"

Linda raised her voice and looked at me smugly.

"I'm not like someone who embarrassed herself by carrying a fake bag."

Everyone knew she was talking about me and looked at me mockingly.

"Kailey, come over and take a look. It feels better than your fake bag."

"It is different from the fake one."

I never had the habit of being a deserter. Since they invited me, I immediately walked over and took over Linda's bag.

"It's pretty good. Linda, have you made a fortune?"

Linda immediately took back the bag and looked at me with disgust.

"Be careful. Don't touch it. Do you know how much it costs?"

"It is made of rare leather and worth more than twenty thousand dollars," I answered without hesitation.

After hearing the price, the colleagues present all looked at Linda with envy.

However, I stared at the blue bag in Linda's hand and fell into deep thought.

"My boyfriend is waiting for me downstairs, so I'm leaving now."

Linda looked at the envious eyes of the crowd and left with satisfaction. Before leaving, she glanced at me smugly.

After getting off work, I didn't go home but returned to my parents' old house.

After rummaging around in my cloakroom, I was sure about one thing.

Linda's bag was mine.

Chapter 4

My mom gave me a rare leather Chanel bag as a gift for my 18th birthday.

Because it was blue and had a crocodile pattern, I thought it looked old-fashioned and didn't want to carry it, so I just left it in the corner of the cloakroom.

On one occasion, a hanger fell when I took my dress, which happened to scratch the left lower part of the bag.

I took a closer look at Linda's bag today and found a slight scratch on the left lower part.

In addition, my bag was inexplicably lost, so I was sure that the one in Linda's hand was mine.

After asking the butler, I found out that Gilbert often came to the house to visit my parents on holidays during the time I was in college.

He was smart and from the same village as my dad, so my mom often invited him to have dinner with them.

Over time, Gilbert treated here as his home and occasionally stayed overnight.

It turned out that Gilbert was also a thief.

My dad was on a business trip to negotiate a new project, and my mom was traveling abroad.

I went to the company to gain experience to inherit the company, so I wanted to deal with Gilbert, who was harmful to the company.

"Let us congratulate Linda. Her design plan has been highly regarded by Mr. Collins. I have decided to make an exception and employ her."

As soon as I entered the company, I heard applause coming from the office.

When I entered the office, I saw Linda and Alisha standing in the middle and accepting everyone's congratulations.

As soon as they saw me, everyone froze in embarrassment.

"After we get off work today, I will hold a celebration party for Linda. Everybody, remember to attend it. Now, let's start work."

I looked at them with indifference, not knowing whether the celebration party could be held.

After Alisha finished her words with a smile, she turned around and looked at me coldly.

"Come in with me."

As soon as I entered her office, Alisha yelled at me, "What the hell have you done?

"Your plan is not as good as Linda’s. When Mr. Collins saw your plan, he got angry. He asked why our company employed you."

"If Linda hadn't stepped forward in time and worked out a plan that made Mr. Collins satisfied, how could you stand here?"

I wanted to applaud Alisha. It was a pity that she was not an actress with such acting skills.

I sent my design plan to Wallace and only gave it to Alisha after getting his approval.

However, Alisha told me that my plan was not approved, but Linda's was.

Everyone knew that Linda was eager to get off work these days. She did nothing at work and may not know how to draw a drawing.

It was obvious that Alisha gave my achievement to Linda.

In her eyes, I was just an intern, and she thought she could control me easily.

It was a pity what she thought was wrong.

"Really? Why didn't Mr. Collins tell me about that?"

I crossed my arms and sneered.

Alisha got angry immediately. She slammed the table and stood up.

"What do you mean? Do you think I gave your plan to Linda?"

I shrugged.

"I didn't say that. I will call Mr. Collins and find out what's going on."

"You are just an intern. How could you know Mr. Collins? I don't think you even know where the Collins Group is.

"Don't try to cheat me. It won't take more than a minute for me to get you out of the company. You’d better behave yourself," Alisha pointed at me angrily and warned me.

"Why don't we wait for Mr. Collins and find out whether I know him?"

I turned cold and took out my phone to send a message to Wallace.

"Come to my company."
