Chapter 4

After returning to the hotel, I cleaned up my things and prepared to check out.

But then I received a call from the hospital.

The speaker was unfamiliar, thanking me for agreeing to donate my parents' bodies.

My bad premonition intensified.

I rushed back frantically.

My parents often told me that in their generation, many of the ones fighting in wars came back with missing limbs.

They told me that when they died, they hoped to leave with intact bodies.

I always kept that in my mind.

When I arrived at the hospital, I found nothing.

"Where are they? My parents? Where are they?"

I grabbed a passing doctor and lost my mind.

He was startled before pointing upstairs.

"A transplant surgery is in progress."

I let go of him and rushed upstairs crazily, only to see two people standing side by side at the entrance of an operating room.

It was Troy and Siena.

I didn't look at them. As I was about to rush into the operating room crazily, Troy pulled me back.

"Are you crazy? They are doing a surgery inside. Do you want to harm the ones inside?"

I kicked and bit his arm crazily.

He felt pain and slapped me in the face.

Siena stood in the corner, adding fuel to the fire and saying, "Jessa, even if you are angry with me, you can't affect the surgery. My two brothers managed to have suitable donors."

"If you are angry with me, you can hit me or scold me."

"Don't blame Troy either. If it weren't for his help this time, my brothers wouldn't have been able to do a surgery so smoothly."

She came forward to help me up, but I pushed her hand away.

She took two steps back and covered her face, crying.

"Jessa."

"Jessa, are you not done yet?"

"If you dare to affect the progress of the surgery today, I will make you disappear from Chicago."

Chapter 5

"Making me disappear?"

"Then let's die together."

They were planning to get my parents' bodies from the beginning. I couldn't help but think they were plotting against me.

After all, there would be no such coincidence in this world.

My parents had an accident. Then Siena's brothers got suitable donors.

I wondered what role Troy had played in all this.

"Troy, you are so good at scheming. From the beginning, you have been deceiving me with a show, saying that you and Siena are like siblings. And now, your sister is divorced, but you are not married."

"One is with an evil heart, and the other one is vicious. You are such a perfect match."

The lights in the operating room dimmed. Troy looked somewhere. Two bodyguard-like men lifted me.

The same scene happened.

A surgical cart was pushed out.

One represented life, and the other one represented death.

Siena walked to one of the surgical carts, looking exaggeratedly sad.

"Mr. Doyle, thank you for everything you donated for my brother. He will be grateful to you for the rest of his life."

“Don't worry, I will arrange the best crematorium for you. When the ashes are formed, I will put them together with Mrs. Doyle's before scattering them into the sea.

"Get out of here. Leave me alone." I kicked one of the bodyguards and finally hit his vital spot in the next second, gaining my freedom.

I pushed Siena away and stood in front of the operating table, my chest heaving violently. Then a pang of sour and sweet taste surged in my throat.

"You guys get out of here. I won't let you get near my parents again."

"Don't you want me to fail here?"

"Then just kill me."

Chapter 6

"What's going on? Jessa, how are your parents?"

A voice rang out in the noisy corridor suddenly.

I supported my body and turned my head to look back, coincidentally making eye contact with Troy's mother, Kate.

I couldn't hold back the bloody sweetness in my throat anymore. In the end, I spat out blood in one breath.

I was beginning to lose my consciousness.

In a coma, I seemed to hear Kate's words.

"You bastard. You transferred the doctors I had arranged for Jessa's parents. Are you trying to kill them?"

"You even made decisions for her and donated the organs of her biological parents. Are you inhuman?"

"No, how could it be? Siena told me that they were volunteers for donating their bodies that she had found."

Troy widened his eyes with his voice full of disbelief.

My consciousness gradually came back to me. Hearing Troy's voice, I slowly opened my eyes.

In my heart, I had no emotions.

"Jessa, Jessa, you're awake. I'm so sorry. I didn't know it. I didn't know they were your parents."

He trembled and held my hands, but I forcefully shook his hands away.

I felt like I was getting to know him in front of me again.

"So what you mean is this. If it weren't them and if it were someone else, you could dominate their lives like a ruler?"

"No, it's not like that."

Troy, who had been calm and composed, couldn't hold himself back. I wondered if he was feeling guilty.

With no one around, I wondered why he was looking like that.

"Do you remember what day it is today, Troy?"
