Chapter 7

IRIS LOU POV

FLASHBACK THE TIME I RUN AWAY IN THE PALACE.

"PAK!" The sound of my father hitting me in his palace office.

"Lou, how much longer will you make me feel ill?!!" Da yelled at me cause i just embarrassed the daughter of his investor who arrived from the States.

"Dad, she was the first to make a mess! I hope nothing untoward happened at the party if she didn't merely pour me booze on purpose." I declare it without fear,

"Lou! Damn it! Alcohol can't kill you; why didn't you just let it go? Look what you did: Mr. Gregory retreat investing in our company; you know how well-known Mr. Gregory is in the United States." He reprimanded me sharply.

"Dad, you are the king of the country where you are now, so a lot of money comes to you, and then you hurt me? your own child? just because of your worthless investor!" I told him in a furious tone, I resisted crying in his face because I didn't want to suggest that I could only be vulnerable around him.

I'm not that strong, but I'm strong in combat because my brother and I have been practicing our fighting skills since we were young. As a result of the challenging training I underwent as a child, I broke several bones. My older brother, who seemed pretty reasonable to me at the time, changed into a psychopath without anyone around him noticing.

He simply killed my old brother old self, and dad was no longer concerned about my brother changing.

He stared at me sharply and said, "You're just a kid, don't answer me. " He is no longer our father; back when our mother was still living, he used to call me his darling princess.

"You are not the father I knew in the past. When I was a kid, you weren't the father I knew. I used to be your princess, dad, so how dare you speak to me in such a loud voice!" I mumbled to him, I fall down on floor and my leg is getting weaker.

I couldn't lift my hand, "So you merely have to throw me away now. Dad, what's going on? What did you show my older brother and I if this is all a lie when Mom was still alive?" I stared up at this question with my eyes getting darker because I couldn't stop crying.

"DAD, WHY CAN'T YOU RESPOND? !! DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT IS, HUH!" I growled at him. I shook my head in frustration as I bowed down.

"Don't attach the long-dead Lou! A 5 MONTH GROUND IS IN EFFECT! get out of my sight right away! Never leave your room, either. For five months, if you refuse then you can stay in the Dungeon." He stated icily while avoiding looking at me. As he turned his back and prepared to approach his swivel chair,

I look dismayed at him and say, "Are you truly like that and you can put me in the prison as your own child?"

"If necessary I'll do it" He said to me while turning his back I can't see his expression because he turned his back on me but you can see the extreme coldness of his voice.

“You're a monster" I said angrily to him.

I made a point of telling him, "You'll regret this," before I walked out of his office and into my room. I dressed comfortably before packing so that I could later easily elude the royal guards and find whoever was wandering around the palace.

I grabbed my cellphone and dialed a reliable employee's number, Dexter.

"Ring ring" He responded after just two rings.

"What do you need?" he asked straightly.

"Prepare your private jet. We will leave this country secretly; make sure that it is the one you will use so that we cannot be found." I told him.

He ended the phone by saying, "Fine, let's simply meet at the airport," so I next contacted Aunt Carmine, the mother of my childhood cleopard.

"What made you dial Hija?" She stated on the other line, and I just sighed since she is the only person I can trust.

"Auntie, I'm leaving Greece and I'm going to the Philippines tonight, and I don't want you to tell anyone where I am because you're the only one I can trust." I informed her in Italian.

"Why are you leaving HIJA?" She questioned.

"I'll be explaining it to you next time, Auntie, I'm losing too much time now and I really need to go." I hung up the phone after saying that, I know she won't let me down.

Even though I was prepared, I went outside on my balcony first to see if any bodyguards were there since I would pass by later and climb the wall to leave the roadway behind. Time went by. As it got later in the evening, I dropped my cellphone on my room's floor to prevent them from finding me.

I stepped over to the veranda after putting on my backpack. I looked around to see if there was a royal guard nearby, but when I couldn't see any, I leapt. I gently touched down on the surface.

I carefully made my way to the back of the palace and, as soon as I arrived, climbed the tall wall with ease because there was a tree on the side. As soon as I reached the top, I leaped onto the road and instantly turned onto the correct side of the street.

A taxi finally stopped in front of me after I had been waiting for 15 minutes. I continued, so.

"Take me to the airport." I said as I entered inside the car.

"Yes , ma'am." The driver responds.

FAST FORWARD

The large Athens International Airport in Greece was in front of the automobile when it stopped. Before leaving and entering the airport, I gave him my money. They recognized me, so the guard didn't try to stop me when he spotted me.

I traveled to Dexter's location and asked him to direct me to the Philippines. Together, we made our way to his private aircraft. His two flight attendants welcomed me right away when we got there.

We step up and took a seat in the aircraft. He handed me an envelope when he was seated in front of me.

"I changed your last name temporarily Iris Lou Clifford and you can't use Ephraim." He explained.

“There. It will be about you. You're poor, so when someone asks where you're from, say the province. You also need to find work to support yourself because you can't use a credit card because your dad might easily find you." He advised, and I just nodded.

I took a snooze first because I knew the trip was still a ways off while the plane kept flying through the skies.

END OF FLASHBACK

Chapter 8

IRIS LOU POV

When my cellphone rang in my sling bag, which was right next to me, I abruptly returned to the present. After taking the phone and looking at it before opening it, I discovered that Dad was the only caller. So I gave it a whiff.

"Dad, it looks like I won't get back till after dark." I looked at the sea and remarked, I simply want to see the sunset.

"I'll take care of your son, but me and my grandson will go home first, so take your time." He said on the other end of the line,

"Okay, dad" I hung up the phone after saying that and continued to sit there for a while, staring out at the sea as darkness fell.

It was quite pleasant to witness the sunset as it began to happen while I was staring at the sea. I used to enjoy watching the sunset with Eliot. I used to always be by his side, therefore I'm not sure why he still exists in my memory.

FLASHBACK

We were sitting on the Centennial Sea Bridge today when I asked him, "Honey, do you think you'll be able to find me when I'm gone?" My head was resting on his shoulder. There are many people here as well because it's a great place to relax once the sun sets.

"No," He said, and I turned to face him.

"What?" I exclaimed in shock. He laughed as a result.

"I won't look for you since I know you won't be lost." I just pouted when he responded.

"What if I disappeared like a bubble, what do you think you would do?" I said it, looking it right in his eye, Just before he spoke, he caressed my head.

"Hon, even if that occurs, I know you will still come back to me but If I'm mistaken in my suspicion. It is not my destiny to decide how we will meet again." He said and smile at me before giving me a kiss in the forehead, The moment he kissed my forehead, I simply smile.

"I promise I won't hurt you, so you have no reason to leave me and just disappear suddenly, my dear Iris." I turned my head to rest on his shoulder to gaze back at the water.

"Promise me Honey, you won't going to cheat on me." I told him while still admiring the stunning sea view, He did not immediately respond, but he did speak.

"I vow I'm exclusively yours, I won't ever cheat on you, and only with you will I raise a family." He respond. I simply smiled.

"I'll pray to God that you're the only one I can be with, the only one I'll marry, when I grow old." I told him.

He is the sole man who first captured my heart, and I want him to remain with me forever since he taught me how to love and cherish the people in my life.

At the same moment we watch the sun set together, and the sunset witness his vows to me.

END OF FLASHBACK

I didn't realize I was crying because of those things, and even though a few years have passed, he is still the only man I will ever love. I will be devastated if I see him happy with someone else while I'm still grieving.

I wiped away my tears and got to my feet before descending to the Rock and putting on my heels. It appears that I won't first call the driver. I have to think as I walk.

I shall pass by the street lights, the side food streets, and people walking along the roadside at this moment. I took my time to look around me, and now I just felt like I was by myself without the companion I had hoped would soon leave me as well.

I drove right up to the cab to deliver me to Olympus Park, where it is also nice to go, passing the side merchants. I'll spend the rest of the day here in Greece because I know it will take me a while to return. I spotted a taxi and ride it.

"Take me to Olympus Park," I told the driver and as the car was moving, I leaned my head on the side of the glass window to gaze at the big trees with their many lights and at the building we were passing through, which was full with street lines.

The diver turned to stare at the road and said, "I can read your eyes; they are full of pain and longing for someone."

Even though the driver could see my pain and longing in my eyes for the person I left in the Philippines, where I met him, I continued to stare out the window.

"If the man you've loved for a long time and want to spend the rest of your life with cheated on you, what would you do?" I was still staring out the window when I abruptly questioned the driver.

"Did he actually cheat on you? Have you even listened to his justification?" I was dumbfounded by his inquiry. Why didn't I pay attention to his justification? Why did I leave Unaware The Truth? The event left me perplexed.

"How can I listen to his explanation if he left me on the day of our wedding in favor of another woman? And I swear that day, he'll have nothing to return to if he walks out of that church." I said, hearing him sigh in front of me,

“You should at least listen to his explanation, and keep in mind that we have what is known as false suspicion.” He replied.

He is correct in what we refer to as erroneous suspicion. although I'm aware of the reason why I find it difficult to comprehend why he had to pick that woman than in our wedding day.

I remained silent while covering up the tears that were streaming from my eyes as I wiped away the agonizing worries that were returning to me. I didn't respond to what he said.

"Did you leave that day without even listening to his justification and without even telling him you were going?" He inquires abruptly.

"Yes, I vanished like a bubble that day because I couldn't accept the fact that he had someone else," I responded to him in Greek because I knew he wouldn't understand me if I spoke Filipino and not everyone in Greece speaks English, so it's better to speak their language, which they could understand easily.

"I split with him four years ago and haven't heard anything about him until today." I continued.

I suddenly gasped because of what the driver said, "Do you feel that leaving without knowing the truth soothes your mind's foam? No right? I hope you listened first before fleeing without a trace." he answered.

I was just looking outside when I asked, "Has anyone cheated on you?," I said for him to change the topic about me. He was just driving quietly and seriously focusing on the road when I finally looked at him.

“Yes, but the difference between us is that I didn't flee or simply vanish; I listened to her explanation before putting up with it, and I left voluntarily.”He said but I didn't say a word and just kept quiet to hear his own story.

"I was overjoyed when she told me she was pregnant, but when she told me I wasn't the father, my world fell apart” he said

When he said that, I became even more intrigued by his story. Because our path is really different when it comes to love. If he was betrayed and others got the person he loved pregnant, Then the man I loved pregnant another woman without me knowing.

“We had been together for eight years, but that year was ruined when I discovered she was pregnant with my friend.”

“I blamed fate for interfering with the course of my life.”

“but do you know what I'm thankful for?”

“I thanked her that she found the person to love and take care of her even if it wasn't me”

“I listened to her and accepted it on the day she confessed and explained because I loved her so much that I could tolerate just for what she could do.”

“Years passed when we separated, I found the one for me and the woman I no longer thought that she would be with me as I grow older and build a family”

He was able to put up with, overlook, and accept what was set aside for him, which made me grin in that scenario. As I remain mired in the past without knowing the whole context of that particular incident.
