Chapter 2
I stayed at the coffee shop until afternoon when I had lunch and headed back to the office.
"Good afternoon, Isabella!"
I turned around and realized that Joyce was unexpectedly in our company, and she was dressed as an intern.
She smiled sweetly with a provocative look in her eyes.
I pressed my temper and called the personnel manager, "Did you recruit her?"
"Isabella, she said she's Wesley's sister," The personnel manager said helplessly, "After all, Wesley sent her here in person."
Wesley? We had been married for three years, and he never came to see me.
The first time he came to my company was for Joyce.
I told the personnel manager directly in front of Joyce, "I don't own this company alone, and you should choose someone based on her qualifications. She doesn't meet the company's requirements, so let her leave right now."
Joyce looked pale. "Isabella, you're going to make Wesley upset if you don't let me intern here."
"I don't live by flattering a man," I sneered, "Besides, didn't Wesley say you had an excellent resume? You could have applied for the job on merit."
Joyce bit her lips tightly and lowered her head. The personnel manager told her to hurry up to change her clothes and took her out.
I stayed at the office because it was so awful at home.
A few days later, Wesley and Joyce came back to my door.
Wesley blocked my way on a business trip. "Give me and Joyce twenty thousand dollars for living expenses."
I ignored Wesley and went straight to my car. I had just started the engine when Joyce got right in front of my car.
I braked urgently, rolled down the window, and cursed, "Are you crazy?"
Wesley took the opportunity to grab the window and spit at me. "Who allowed you to talk to Joyce like that? If she gets hurt in any way, I'll cut you into pieces."
Joyce leaned her obese body directly onto the front of my car as she looked over at Wesley and choked with sobs. "Wesley, you don't have to worry about me. Just get it straight with Isabella."
Wesley rolled his eyes. "Joyce and I don't have any more money to live on, so you should transfer the money to us now. The house is too messy right now, so you either need to get someone to clean it up or pay more for us to keep staying in a hotel."
He kept losing money over the years, and he consistently swiped my bank card.
I clearly remembered there were tens of thousands of dollars in there a few days ago.
When I opened the bank program to see the transfer records, I couldn't imagine that not a single penny was left.
As I turned on the home surveillance, I found the living room, bedroom and even the bathroom piled high with take-out containers, food waste and used paper towels, with flies and bedbugs flying around, and the stench almost overflowing the screen.
I couldn't help but retch.
Seeing that I was getting a bit angry, Wesley hastily argued, "It's your house, so you should have been responsible for cleaning it in the first place. If you put my name on the real estate deed now, I can clean it."
I looked over the transfer details. "You guys spend hundreds of dollars a day on food. Are you guys pigs?"
Wesley slapped my backrest in annoyance. "Isabella, don't go too far. You're the sales champion, so you're not lack of money, right? Joyce is a natural big eater, and it's normal for her to eat more since she's had a hard time studying in college."
I sneered, "You can make money to support her, but why are you asking me for money?"
Wesley blushed. "You know my situation, I'm working for my career right now, so I'm in need of financing. How could I owe you money? You should be sensible. Otherwise, when the your stock go up, don't blame me for not warning you."
"I don't need your money, but I won't give you a cent today." I restarted the engine and stared at Joyce ahead of me. "If you really want to die, I'll make it happen today."
Joyce, of course, didn't dare to be serious. She coweringly jumped down, threw herself into Wesley's arms, and cried.
Wesley yelled from behind my car, "Isabella, you're a bitch!"
I looked through the rearview mirror and saw Wesley sitting on the door step with his arm around Joyce after getting angry in place for a while.
Did he want to wait for windfalls?
I contacted my assistant to find a way to get rid of them.
When I returned to the office in the afternoon, the two nasties were no longer at the door.
But I bumped into Joyce when I walked in the front door.
Joyce was unexpectedly dressed as an intern coach again.
Chapter 3
I called the personnel manager. After a while, my nemesis, Jacob Whitman, came to my office.
Jacob's performance had been inferior to mine, but he was arrogant and often slandered me behind my back.
At this point, Jacob looked condescending. "What's the matter? Am I supposed to report to you for recruiting an intern?"
"You need to meet the company's requirements when you recruit."
Jacob didn't care about it. "She's just an intern, and she only gets a thousand dollars a month, which I can pay for it. I think Joyce is young and pretty, and she's highly educated, so why doesn't she fit in anymore? Isabella, are you jealous of her?"
Joyce hurriedly grabbed Jacob's arm. "Jacob, Isabella treats me the best, and I can't make her satisfied."
She looked aggrieved, but she truly couldn't hide the smugness in her eyes as she looked at me.
"Whatever. You'll take care of the new employee you've recruited, and don't bother me with my work. Please get out."
The two left in disappointment when they didn't see that I was upset.
However, Joyce had never understood a word I said.
The next morning, Joyce pushed her way straight through the door, and she handed me a paper bag. "Isabella, these are my handmade cookies. How about you try some?"
"I'm a coach, and I need to control my sugar intake. Also, you need to knock when you come into my office from now on."
"I only put a little sugar in it, and I took you into consideration." Joyce took out a cookie and put it directly to my mouth, shoving it into my mouth. "Isabella, taste it. I've been studying for a long time!"
"I told you I won't eat it!"
I moved Joyce's arm away, but she took the opportunity to fall backward and screamed so loudly that the cookies were suddenly scattered all over the floor.
The other employees ran over when they heard her voice, and Joyce purposely blurted out, "Isabella, it'll be fine if you don't eat it, but why did you push me?"
Jacob rushed in to help Joyce up and said furiously, "Isabella, even if you're jealous of Joyce, you can't go this far!"
"There's a surveillance camera in the office, you can see if I pushed her!"
I switched my computer to the monitoring page.
The surveillance camera suddenly broke down, and it went black!
"When did you break my surveillance camera?"
"I'm not that interested in it," Jacob denied, "You're afraid of leaving evidence, so you're deliberately setting them up, aren't you?"
I gasped, "Get out!"
The next day, the video of me bullying a colleague made headlines on the company forums.
Since I was definitely ahead of the curve, many employees in the company were jealous of me, and they were sarcastic in the comment section, saying that they were being bullied by me as well.
The whole thing kept on festering.
Fortunately, I did very well in the company, and my boss, Victor Hastings, just called me and asked me a few questions before letting me put on my normal makeup for live streaming.
In addition to being a personal fitness trainer during the week, I also did live streaming online explaining fitness precautions. I would sell fitness products online, and I was considered a spokesperson for our company.
However, my live room was occupied today.
I knock on the door. "Please move out of my place, and I'm going to have a live streaming."
Jacob came out of it, closing the door tightly. "I'm going to use this room. If you're going to do a live streaming, you'll need to find another room."
I glanced at my watch. "My live streaming has started at this hour every day."
Jacob didn't care about it. "So what? You used to be the sales champion all the time, but now it's going to be me."
He returned to the live room after that and immediately closed the door tightly.
I wanted to call Victor for instructions, but I suddenly realized something.
Victor would also watch the live streaming, so how could he not know about it?
He wasn't going to fire me right away, but he was at least willing to share a portion of my performance to avoid being threatened.
I calmed down and had an idea. I was going to do live streaming directly from the yoga studio on my private account.
"We're on a long vacation, and I'm going to teach yoga for relaxation and meditation. If anyone has any questions, feel free to leave them in my comment section!"
Due to my standard and elegant postures, and my style of live streaming was humorous and practical, I surprisingly set a new record for the number of people in my live room, and people were coming to follow my private account.
Jacob and Joyce were lack of experience, and Joyce's figure didn't match the expectations of fitness enthusiasts, so she received a lot of skepticism.
The fans suspected that I had a problem with the company, so they simply unfollowed my official account of the company.
Victor called and explained to me that he had no idea and that it was a complete accident, and he said that the live room would always be for my use only from now on.
I declined.
Even though I wasn't going to quit my job for a while, I really should have gotten a new one.
They reminded me to do so.
However, Joyce's live streaming surprisingly took off in reverse a month later.
