Chapter 3

"Let me go! Let me go!" I yelled. "Rosalie, just call Connor. He'll explain everything."

But my pleas were useless. Rosalie just laughed, pleased with herself.

The rough concrete scraped my skin, the pain almost driving me to tears.

"Let go of my daughter!" My dad shouted as he rushed to help me, but Waylon kicked him away, sending him flying several feet before he hit the ground, coughing up blood.

It didn't stop there. Several others joined in, kicking and punching my dad mercilessly.

"You... You..." My mom, shaking with rage, tried to call the police, but Rosalie snatched her phone and smashed it.

"Look at yourself, you old hag, you raised a bitch. Why don't you just die? How can you even show your face?" Rosalie yanked my mom's hair and slammed her head against the car window.

There was a loud thump, and my mom's forehead started bleeding, her face twisted in pain. Then, she clutched her chest.

Desperate, I yelled, "My mom needs her heart meds!

Stop hitting my dad. Take it out on me if you have to!"

All I got back was Rosalie's cold, mocking smile.

"Meds? Your whole family dropping dead would be better. This is what you deserve for being the other woman," Rosalie spat out, cold and merciless.

Waylon shoved me roughly into the cage.

My dad lay on the ground, blood pouring from his wounds, motionless. My mom was curled up, clutching her chest. Watching them, panic overwhelmed me. Ignoring my own pain, I begged, "Please, let me take my parents to the hospital.

I'll pay whatever you want..."

Rosalie remained indifferent. The onlookers who came for the drama didn't offer any help either.

The comments on the live stream were all about how my family deserved to die.

I was truly desperate.

"But you got everything by scamming my boyfriend," Rosalie said with a cold smirk. "You want an ambulance? Kneel and beg for it."

Chapter 4

Despite feeling humiliated, I kneeled to Rosalie without a second thought, all for the sake of my parents.

Rosalie backtracked with a sneer. "Idiot. You kneel just because I said so?" She laughed mockingly.

"You!" I almost passed out from anger.

I thought, "Connor, you need to see this. Look who you're dating. There is no humanity in her. She's a devil!"

Rosalie turned to her phone, grinning. "Guys, hit me up with some gifts. I'm about to teach this bitch a lesson."

She and a few others then picked up hammers and started smashing my custom car, worth 10 million dollars, that I had shipped to the airport at great expense.

Waylon yanked the gem necklace from my neck and the diamond bracelet from my wrist, stuffing them into his pocket. He then pulled out a dagger and sneered viciously, "I'm going to scar your face today. You won't be seducing anyone after this."

"No, please no..." I backed away in terror, but was yanked back.

Rosalie's friends and family clapped and cheered.

"Get on with it."

"Give that bitch what she deserves."

"Draw on her face."

Many viewers in the live stream sent gifts, urging harsher actions.

Waylon then slashed my face with the dagger.

I winced in pain as blood ran down my cheeks and onto my neck.

Before I could say anything, Waylon slashed my face several more times.

It felt like I had plummeted into hell, the darkest moment of my life. My face was sticky with blood. Seeing my parents motionless, I exploded with rage.

"Rosalie, you'll never join the Foster family. I'll make you pay, blood for blood! You damn monster!" I screamed, my eyes red with anger, my voice hoarse.

"Shut up!" Waylon barked, raising his dagger to try to slash at my face.

Chapter 5

At that moment, a fleet of police cars arrived, surrounding us. "Everyone, drop your weapons!"

Rosalie and the others froze, visibly shaken, quickly dropping their weapons.

Only Waylon stood defiantly, arrogantly claiming, "We did nothing wrong. Don't be scared. We were justly catching the another woman. The whole internet backs us."

Relieved, Rosalie regained her smug. She sneered at me, "Nothing can save you today, bitch."

"Get my parents to a hospital, now!" I screamed at the police.

Medics rushed to my parents immediately.

Several officers quickly freed me from the cage, while others tackled Waylon, scolding, "How dare you hurt people like that? You've gone too far."

"Waylon, when will you ever learn?" one officer remarked.

Clearly, Waylon was well-known to the police.

Yet Waylon argued back, "She's the other woman. What's wrong with punishing her?"

"Exactly. She seduced my boyfriend and scammed him out of millions. You should be arresting her," Rosalie piped up, desperate.

Her friends and family nodded in agreement.

"Justice isn't yours to administer. It's for the courts to decide," the officer said firmly.

I countered, "Sir, I'm not the other woman. Her boyfriend is my older brother.

They stopped my car and trashed it, snatched my jewelry, and beat up my parents. They even slashed my face and tried to parade me in a cage.

Also, they threatened to kill me and my parents.

And they were live streaming it, trying to twist the story."

All the officers frowned.

Rosalie tried to end the livestream, but a quick-acting female officer stopped her, preserving the evidence.

"Bullshit!" Rosalie snapped at me. "You're the one who seduced my man and stole his money. Don't throw dirt on us.

Those jewels and that car might be worth a fortune, but you bought them with my boyfriend's money. I can do whatever I want with them.

And about those death threats? We were just angry. You're not dead, are you?"

Rosalie stood defiant, hands on her hips, without a shred of guilt.

Her crew echoed her sentiment.

"A bitch like her is trash and needs to be dealt with. We're cleaning up the community."

"Rosalie's boyfriend is the richest guy in town. Mess with us and see what happens. He'll make sure you regret it."

Rosalie's group was equally defiant, throwing Connor's influence around.

Smugly, Rosalie's chin tilted even higher.

The officer's face hardened. "Enough of this nonsense! This is a nation of laws. It doesn't matter how connected you are or how many supporters you have. If you break the law, you will face the consequences..."

Before the officer could finish, a paramedic rushed over, looking grave. "Both victims have passed away."

"What?" All the officers were taken aback.

The incident had already caused a huge uproar, but with two deaths, it had turned into a major case that could shock the nation.

Hearing my parents were dead, I felt dizzy and collapsed to my knees, sobbing loudly, "Dad! Mom!"

It felt like my heart was being ripped out.

The color drained from Rosalie and her crew's faces.

In a panic, Rosalie grabbed her phone and dialed quickly. "Hey, Honey, I'm in deep trouble. Sending you my location now. Come quick!" Her voice was laced with desperation.

After hanging up, she tried to appear calm. Taking deep breaths, she told the police, "This isn't all on us. They started it."

Her friends and family, who had been anxious a moment ago, now looked relieved.

"Rosalie's boyfriend is a big deal around here. Everyone has to show him some respect."

"Bitch, your parents died because of you. If you hadn't been the other woman, they would still be alive."

"Bitch, you're the real problem here."

They kept insulting me.

The situation escalated until the police were forced to fire warning shots to quiet them down.

Just then, the sound of an engine roaring drew near. Connor had arrived.

He got out of the car, and all eyes were on him, especially those of Rosalie's group, who immediately started brownnosing him.

"Wow, Connor is so handsome. He's perfect for Rosalie."

"Connor's got looks and money. Rosalie's living the dream."

Waylon scoffed at me, "Bitch, Rosalie's man is here now. Let's see what you can do. I should've cut your face up even more."

"Shut up!" The police had to intervene to stop Waylon's taunts.

Rosalie, beaming, quickly went to greet Connor. She cooed, "Honey, you finally made it..."

"Connor!" I yelled.

Connor turned toward me, his expression shifting to shock. He brushed past Rosalie, ran over to me, and pulled me into a tight hug. "Daphne, my darling sister, what happened? Who did this to your face?"

The place went dead silent.
