Chapter 2
Rosalie's slaps were even harder this time.
My face burned with pain, and I tasted a hint of sweetness in my mouth. I was bleeding. Tears welled up in my eyes. I had never been so humiliated in my life.
"Stop hurting my daughter.
You've got it all wrong. We're Connor's family," my parents said as they hurried out of the car to intervene, but Waylon kicked them to the ground.
Spitting, Waylon sneered, "We got clear proof, and you call it a misunderstanding? Fuck you. You claim to be Connor's family? He doesn't asshole family like you."
"The whole lot of you are assholes. A daughter as another woman and parents covering for her, what a shame."
"Serves them right. Families like this deserve a harsh lesson."
"Let everyone witness the fate of another woman today."
Rosalie's relatives and friends chimed in with more insults.
Bystanders stopped to watch, pointing and glaring at us with contempt.
Seeing my parents get hit made me panic. Fueled by rage, I somehow mustered the strength to push Waylon away. Then I shouted at Rosalie, "You're Rosalie, right?
I really am Connor's sister. Call him if you don't believe me..."
However, Rosalie interrupted me with another slap.
"Fuck you, bitch. Doing this and not owning up? Still playing innocent? You call Connor 'darling' in your texts. And now you claim you're just his sister?
You're nothing but the other woman, a whore," Rosalie yelled, hands on her hips, convinced of her accusations.
But Connor was my brother, and it was totally normal for me to use affectionate terms with him.
Clearly, Rosalie was just being paranoid, unreasonable, and way too suspicious. I couldn't believe how self-righteous she was acting.
It turned out, Rosalie wasn't as sweet, virtuous, and well-mannered as Connor had made her out to be.
"Rosalie, don't waste your breath on her. Lock her up and parade her around," Waylon said coldly.
"Right, I'm definitely teaching this bitch a lesson today," Rosalie agreed, nodding.
The surrounding crowd clapped and cheered. Rosalie's live stream viewers also got into it, some even sending her gifts.
I was in shock. Just as I tried to call Connor, Waylon yanked me by my hair and dragged me violently toward a metal cage.
Chapter 3
"Let me go! Let me go!" I yelled. "Rosalie, just call Connor. He'll explain everything."
But my pleas were useless. Rosalie just laughed, pleased with herself.
The rough concrete scraped my skin, the pain almost driving me to tears.
"Let go of my daughter!" My dad shouted as he rushed to help me, but Waylon kicked him away, sending him flying several feet before he hit the ground, coughing up blood.
It didn't stop there. Several others joined in, kicking and punching my dad mercilessly.
"You... You..." My mom, shaking with rage, tried to call the police, but Rosalie snatched her phone and smashed it.
"Look at yourself, you old hag, you raised a bitch. Why don't you just die? How can you even show your face?" Rosalie yanked my mom's hair and slammed her head against the car window.
There was a loud thump, and my mom's forehead started bleeding, her face twisted in pain. Then, she clutched her chest.
Desperate, I yelled, "My mom needs her heart meds!
Stop hitting my dad. Take it out on me if you have to!"
All I got back was Rosalie's cold, mocking smile.
"Meds? Your whole family dropping dead would be better. This is what you deserve for being the other woman," Rosalie spat out, cold and merciless.
Waylon shoved me roughly into the cage.
My dad lay on the ground, blood pouring from his wounds, motionless. My mom was curled up, clutching her chest. Watching them, panic overwhelmed me. Ignoring my own pain, I begged, "Please, let me take my parents to the hospital.
I'll pay whatever you want..."
Rosalie remained indifferent. The onlookers who came for the drama didn't offer any help either.
The comments on the live stream were all about how my family deserved to die.
I was truly desperate.
"But you got everything by scamming my boyfriend," Rosalie said with a cold smirk. "You want an ambulance? Kneel and beg for it."
Chapter 4
Despite feeling humiliated, I kneeled to Rosalie without a second thought, all for the sake of my parents.
Rosalie backtracked with a sneer. "Idiot. You kneel just because I said so?" She laughed mockingly.
"You!" I almost passed out from anger.
I thought, "Connor, you need to see this. Look who you're dating. There is no humanity in her. She's a devil!"
Rosalie turned to her phone, grinning. "Guys, hit me up with some gifts. I'm about to teach this bitch a lesson."
She and a few others then picked up hammers and started smashing my custom car, worth 10 million dollars, that I had shipped to the airport at great expense.
Waylon yanked the gem necklace from my neck and the diamond bracelet from my wrist, stuffing them into his pocket. He then pulled out a dagger and sneered viciously, "I'm going to scar your face today. You won't be seducing anyone after this."
"No, please no..." I backed away in terror, but was yanked back.
Rosalie's friends and family clapped and cheered.
"Get on with it."
"Give that bitch what she deserves."
"Draw on her face."
Many viewers in the live stream sent gifts, urging harsher actions.
Waylon then slashed my face with the dagger.
I winced in pain as blood ran down my cheeks and onto my neck.
Before I could say anything, Waylon slashed my face several more times.
It felt like I had plummeted into hell, the darkest moment of my life. My face was sticky with blood. Seeing my parents motionless, I exploded with rage.
"Rosalie, you'll never join the Foster family. I'll make you pay, blood for blood! You damn monster!" I screamed, my eyes red with anger, my voice hoarse.
"Shut up!" Waylon barked, raising his dagger to try to slash at my face.
