Chapter 3

Abigaile attempted to conceal the unexpected feelings that had bothered her since she met Enzo; her hands were still trembling at the thought of Enzo discovering the secret she had been keeping for far too long. Was she selfish by keeping Tristan alone without telling Enzo that he was the father of her child?

After meeting Enzo that night, she couldn't sleep even a wink after the incident happened. Abigaile couldn't erase Enzo's expression when she gave him the cold shoulder, and after all, she never expected to meet him in the club where Tiana and the others had planned the party. How hilarious is the fate for allowing their paths to collide unexpectedly?

The next day, Abigaile was having a hard time attempting to focus on the book that she had been reading. She removed her reading glass and puffed for air as she put the book back on the bookshelf.

"You seemed not in good shape. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Abigaile turned her back, and Nico welcomed her open arms.

He was wearing his casual clothes; neat chinos with a shirt, dark-colored jeans, and a pair of leather shoes. He looks like he came from his work to pay a visit.

Nico flashed his dashing smile and caught her in his arms, "What's wrong?" he sang in worrywart.

Abigaile grimaced and then smiled a little. "I think I'm tired from reading all day, or perhaps I still have jet lag to cope with." Nico's shoulder shook as he scoffed at his girlfriend's alibi.

"Sweetheart, do you think that I just met you yesterday? Your alibi wouldn't work on me. I've known you for years, Abigaile. Come on, are you hungry? Allow me to cook to boost my girl's mood." Abigaile's lips curved into a smile as she realized she couldn't indeed hide anything from Nico. Nico is wise and has mastered all of Abigaile's emotions and moods.

"N-Nico!" Abigaile squeaked when Nico carried her like a child and put her gently on the stool of the kitchen's Island Counter.

"Stay there," Nico grumbled as he tucked the kitchen apron into his manly physique.

Abigaile couldn't help but place her elbow on the counter and observe Nico's movements. This man is completely boyfriend material and every woman's dream. Nico is the heir to a multibillion-dollar company. When he surpassed the highest position his parents had established, he was now in charge of the company's daily operations.

When she was pregnant with Tristan, she had to stop studying, and Nico was there to support and care for her. She believed she would be alone fighting the terrible struggle, but Nico never left her side and even supported her when she gave birth to Tristan. Nico was there; he never left her and even volunteered to help her raise the child with whom he had no blood relation.

"Is that—"Abigaile's words were cut off when Nico raised his eyebrow at her and grinned.

"Yeah, it is. Your favorite charcuterie, pot roast, and cured pork. How do I forget your favorite?" Nico teased. Abigaile gazed away as she felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment.

"Daddy? I thought you were at work?" Tristan drew their attention, who appeared to have just gotten up from his nap and was dozing off while going toward them.

"I missed seeing you. Therefore, I came home early to see you." Tristan sat on Abigaile's lap and smiled for a moment longer.

Tristan lifted his nose and sniffed. "Whoa, is that roast pork I smell? He asked in delight and even clasped his hands together.

Nico chuckled as he finished the plating and presented the food in front of them, "Here, dig up." Nico said and even scooped up enough food and lifted it in front of Abigaile. "Open your mouth. I'll feed you two."

"Weren't you hungry? Eat with us." Abigaile demanded. She opened her mouth and accepted the food that Nico fed. Then, later, she grabbed the spoon and let Tristan sit on the stool next to her and have his food.

She does what Nico did earlier. She scooped a portion of food and fed it to Nico, who was having a good time being pampered by her. "Say, why don't we stroll around for you to relax? Let's take a walk with Tristan. Besides, this is Tristan's first time venturing outside to

explore Los Angeles."

Tristan's face flashed a hint of excitement upon hearing Nico's sudden announcement. "Did I hear it raywt Mwammy?" The two burst into a laugh when Tristan exclaimed his excitement even though his mouth was full.

"Tristan, what did Mommy tell you before?" Abigaile warned, her brows furrowed as she glanced at her adorable son.

Tristan munched the food like there was no tomorrow, swallowed it, and pouted before responding, "Don't talk when your mouth is full. I'm sorry, Mommy, Tristan will never do it again."

Nico couldn't help but feel amused by Abigaile. Ever since he met Abigaile, the woman never failed to amaze him. She gave birth to Tristan and raised him alone. She managed to give up her studies just to take care of the child, and now, she graduated in Chicago and will pursue her Law Degree despite the hardships that Abigaile has been through.

"Why are you staring at me with that intent, Nico?" Nico blinked twice, finding himself stunned.

"Daddy found Mommy beautiful. That's why he is glancing at you!" Nico and Tristan make a high five while laughing together in their scheme. The two were loud as the cars honked outside in the morning. However, Abigaile couldn't help but express a beam while watching the two.

"Are you excited, Tristan?" Nico asked while his gaze was fixated on the road. Abigaile sat upright on the passenger seat, peeking at her son in the rearview mirror.

"Yes, Daddy!" Tristan exclaimed. Delight rang in his warm voice.

"How about you, my lady? Aren't you excited to be with me?" Nico teased while stealing glances at Abigaile, who was pouting at him.

Then, Abigaile sprang a mischievous smile on Nico, who seemed astounded as he cupped his face using his right hand. "What's with the smile?" He asked, seeming tensed.

"Who Am I to refuse the most handsome man in my eyes?" Nico tried hard to focus his attention on the road. However, he failed and murmured curses, making Abigaile sneer.

"Daddy is blushing!"

"It's your fault! You are bullying me." Nico exclaimed, frowning in

front of Abigaile. The trip was filled with laughter and joy until the three

reached their first destination.

While they were on Beverly Boulevard, Nico parked the car in the parking lot and took Tristan's hands. He opened the door for Abigaile and helped her get outside the car. When they reached the Mall, Tristan was too excited to tour around the mall and buy new toys. As soon as they passed the inspection area, Nico's phone caught their attention. Nico hissed and gave her an apologetic smile.

"Wait, I'll answer this. Excuse me." Nico distanced himself meters from them and seemed in a bad mood because his forehead could tell. Abigaile knew when Nico was annoyed, delighted, or pissed. Nico is an open man; his expressions are easy to guess, which is why she let him into their life.

"Tristan, come here. Let's wait for your Daddy," Abigaile called her son's attention when she noticed that Tristan seemed to have a good time as he walked around.

When the phone call ended, Nico's shoulder dropped as he crossed the distance between him and the two, his forehead creased. "I received an urgent call from the office. My secretary needs my approval of the proposals from our shareholders.

"Be a good boy, alright, guard your Mom," Nico glanced at his wristwatch, estimating the time so that he could catch up with the two. He glanced at Abigaile and kissed her forehead, "I'll be back after an hour so we can eat together, alright?"

Nico waved his hand and mouthed 'I love you' to Abigaile before turning his back as he walked away. Every woman who encountered Nico's way was left astounded upon seeing a handsome billionaire. The heavens must bless their eyes.

"So, what will we do first, Captain Tristan?" Abigaile asked as she held her son's little

hand. Tristan let out a grin and exclaimed, "Can we first visit the toy section, Mommy? I promised we would just go window shopping and buy it when Daddy Nico returned! Pretty, please?" A flash of excitement and bliss crossed Tristan's eyes.

Abigaile raised her hands in surrender and guided her son through the toy shop on the mall's second floor. A bunch of playthings welcomed them. The shop wasn't crowded since they came earlier than its usual opening routine.

The Sales ladies assisted them, but Abigaile explained that they were doing window shopping before buying his son's cart. "Mom, look at this! This is awesome!" Tristan exclaimed in awe as he pointed to the giant dinosaur that seemed to be the replica of Echo, the raptor from the newest movie of Jurassic World.

Abigaile told Tristan that she would get a cart so that he would put the toys on the cart and would pay for it when Nico came back.

"Stay there, okay? Mom will just get spare parts." Tristan nodded and then shifted his attention to the toy cars in front of him. Abigaile immediately made her way back to where Tristan was.

Her son is indeed diligent, she came back with a sigh of relief upon seeing Tristan unmoved, and he was standing where Abigaile left him. Tristan was just playing with the car he was holding.

Minutes passed until Tristan got tired of picking the toys that suited his taste and requested Abigaile to carry him. Abigaile gestured for one of the staff to take care of their cart, and they would purchase it once Nico came back. To be accountable for her words, Abigaile left her ID so the manager wouldn't suspect her of being a thief.

"Mommy, I needed to pee," Tristan murmured. So she accompanied her son to the restroom. She waited outside because Tristan refused her company inside the bathroom.

"No, Mommy, Daddy told me that I am old enough to take care of this kind of matter. Just wait for me outside!" Tristan chirped happily as he strode inside the bathroom.

While waiting outside the men's restroom, Abigaile's phone buzzed, and she attempted to wander about while reading the message Nico had sent, informing her that he was returning to the mall. She would respond by moving her fingers when she ran into someone.

Her phone fell on the ground, making her panic instead of minding the person she bumped into. While on the side, shock flashed in Enzo's eyes upon seeing Abigaile.

After that night, he never saw the woman again. He tries to search for her but doesn't know Abigaile's whereabouts.

"I'm sorry!" she said while picking up her phone. It was like a déjà vu for the

two because it wasn't Enzo's scheme to run into her this time.

Abigaile's face became pale upon seeing him, "Hi? How are you?" Enzo started the conversation with her, but Abigaile bit her lower lip as if she was guilty of something.

Abigaile heaved a heavy sigh and responded, "I'm fine. I'm sorry, I have matters to attend to." The woman answered. However, she stiffened when a young boy came behind her, and the next thing that Enzo knew was he was frozen in his spot.

"I'm done, Mommy!" The child chirped with a hint of joy in his tiny voice.

"Mommy? Did the child just call you Mommy?" Enzo asked, his voice low and unsteady as if he had been drenched in cold water. When did Abigaile have a child?

Enzo's eyes darted on the little boy's features. He owned those round hazelnut eyes, pointed nose, and red lips that can be compared to a cherry. But, Enzo's contemplation led to the question of why the Kid resembles him? Why did he look like the mini version of him?

His eyes glanced at Abigaile, who seemed in horror, and then shifted to the Kid, who took Abigaile's hand and asked,

"Who is he, Mommy? Why do we have the same features?"

Chapter 4

Abigaile could feel her heart racing so quickly that she felt faint and out of breath, thinking about Enzo meeting Tristan. She grasped Tristan's hands, who appeared perplexed and in search of an answer, but she didn't mind because all that mattered right now was to get out of the place and take Tristan away before Enzo noticed the resemblance between him and Tristan.

Good thing that Enzo seemed baffled, "Mom?" Tristan asked, letting her tug him as they got

outside the restroom. As soon as they reached the mall entrance, it seemed like luck was on her side. "Let's go home..." she murmured, resting her head on Nico's chest.

Nico was puzzled about what had happened when he wasn't around. He gazes down at Tristan, who just shrugged his shoulder. As soon as they reached the car parked nearby, Nico noticed that Abigaile seemed in deep thoughts and wasn't in her usual mood. She was quiet and only nodded when Tristan asked if she was okay.

"Were you alright?" Nico asked for the fifth time, but Abigaile just flashed a smile and nodded. Nico couldn't help but puff for air because he was clueless, making Abigaile silent. He needs to talk to her and make her admit what has been bothering her.

Upon arrival, Abigaile bathed and changed Tristan's clothes into his pair of pajamas. Abigaile kissed Tristan on his forehead before leaving his room. When the door of Tristan's room creaked into a closing sound, Abigaile almost hurdled upon seeing Nico outside. He was leaning on the wall while his arms were crossed defiantly.

"I must check my girlfriend before going to the Villa." He immediately answered before she asked him a question.

"Villa? You are not sleeping on your unit?" Abigaile asked while avoiding Nico's eyes.

"Umm. I have to work in my office there, and my Mom requested so, I cannot decline her request since I am a respectful man." Abigaile nodded and moved her way to the kitchen. Nico followed every action of Abigaile until he sat on the stool near the Island counter and observed her preparing a cup of coffee.

Nico ran his fingers through his hair and hurled a heavy sigh as he hugged his girlfriend from behind. He snaked his arms around her shoulders and buried his face in her neck.

"What's the matter? Hmm." Nico could feel that Abigaile was shaking. The woman faced him, and it almost broke Nico's heart to see Abigaile in tears.

"What's the matter?" He asked, wiping Abigaile's tears. He caressed her face using his thumb and leveled his head to see her beautiful face.

Nico kissed her forehead and pulled her in a warm embrace. A moment of silence passed until Abigaile confessed the reason behind her unusual behavior.

"Earlier, I met Enzo outside the men's restroom. I didn't know how that happened, Tristan

called me Mommy, and then Enzo heard it and was baffled, he gave me a questioned look, and when his eyes landed on Tristan's direction, I knew he noticed their similarities. I-I didn't know what to do. I feel like I committed a huge crime. Am I selfish if I didn't want him to know that Tristan existed?" Abigaile's voice quivered while confessing in front of Nico.

Before responding, Nico grasped Abigaile's hand and kissed its back. "If you ask for my response, I will say yes. I understand that you fear the idea that their paths will collide, but consider that Tristan has only known me as his father since he was born, and I am grateful that you allowed me to be his father. Nonetheless, was it not the appropriate time to tell him the truth? Don't deny him the right to know who his biological father was."

Nico kissed Abigaile's palm with his thumb and smiled, "Every child has the right to know their biological father; that guy Enzo deserves this, right? Although he may be a part of your past, do not deny his parental rights to his child. I'll be with you throughout the entire process, okay? I'm with you."

Abigaile wrapped her arms around Nico's waist and snuggled against his broad chest, listening to his heartbeat as she sensed that the apprehension that had pierced her heart earlier had left. "Are you feeling well now?" Nico asked. Her arms contracted as she said, "Yes, thanks to my incredible boyfriend."

They stayed in that position for a second until Abigaile remembered something, "Oh my gosh! The toys!" she exclaimed in horror as she eyed Nico, who grinned at her and seemed to have fun with her expression.

"The toys were already taken care of. Tristan told me about it earlier." He confessed as

his teeth glimmered in a smile that made Abigaile frown, thinking how the bond between the two was inseparable.

"I love you," Nico said, staring down his nose at her. Abigaile's cheeks reddened as she whispered, "I love you too."

When the night grew late, Nico went home to his Villa after drinking the coffee Abigaile had made for him, while Abigaile dialed Tiana's number and requested Enzo's phone number. She was prepared to tell him about Tristan; Nico was correct; she couldn't keep Tristan hidden forever and wanted her kid to meet his biological father.

While biting her nails in fidgets as she sat on the couch in the living room, her phone buzzed, receiving Tiana's response that contained Enzo's number.

Abigaile's hands were shaking while typing Enzo's number. She could feel the fidgets as she

clicked the dial button. Her heart stammered inside when it rang. It took seconds before he picked it.

"Who's this?" Enzo asked with a hoarse voice. It seems like he had woken up in

the middle of his sleep.

Abigaile cleared her throat before speaking, "I-It's me, Abigaile…."

She heard whispering curses on the other line coming out from the mouth of Enzo before he spoke once again, "Abigaile? Is there a problem? What made you call in the middle of the night?"

"N-no, Ahm, Can we meet? I have to tell you something."

"R-right now? Wait, I'll put my p—"

"Dummy, no, tomorrow morning at Andros Taverna, 10 am sharp. I'll wait for you there."

Before Enzo could answer, Abigaile had already ended the call because she couldn't contain the strange feeling inside her heart. She was nervous and anxious upon hearing Enzo's voice.

After the call, Abigaile decided to come to Tristan's room, and to her surprise, Tristan was

awake. He is rubbing his eyes.

"Mommy..." He mumbled.

"Why are you still awake, sweetie?" Abigaile asked as she sat on the edge of Tristan's

superman themed bed.

"I had a bad dream. I tried to sleep, but I can't sleep anymore."

"Do you want Mommy to tell you something?" Abigaile asked as she ruffled her son's

hair.

"Like what, Mommy?" Tristan asked, his eyes sparkled in jest.

"About your real Daddy," Tristan's brow crinkled.

"Daddy? But I already have a daddy, and it was Daddy Nico." He defended. Tristan's eyes puzzled in confusion, asking for an explanation.

Abigaile puffed for air before telling Tristan that the man they met earlier was his real father.

Tristan was intelligent enough to understand why they had the same physical appearance. "Then, why didn't my real dad show up for years, Mom? Does he hate us?" Tristan asked while frowning.

"No, Daddy doesn't know that you existed because Mommy never tells Daddy about Tristan's

existence," Abigaile confessed as she held Tristan's little hand and kissed it.

"Why, Mommy? Don't you want Daddy to be with us?" Abigaile couldn't just tell her son about the note that Enzo left after the day he took her innocence. Even though it pained her like a thousand needles pierced her heart, she would never tell Tristan about it.

"Mommy was too young back then. We were both studying then, and your Daddy had big plans, so Mommy didn't attempt to tell Daddy about Tristan. But here I am. I am

telling you about Daddy because I called Daddy earlier to meet us in a restaurant."

Tristan's pair of round eyes flared up in excitement, "Am I going to meet Daddy?!" He exclaimed in excitement as he even jumped on his bed.

"Yes, Daddy said he will be there and is keen to meet Tristan!" Abigaile could feel the lump in her throat, but seeing Tristan this excited because of meeting his father, a warm touch tingles inside her heart.

The next day, Abigaile puffed for air as she glanced at Tristan, who was excited inside the

back seat. "Are you ready?" Nico asked and caressed her shoulder and said that everything would be fine.

She opened the door of the car and helped Tristan to come outside. Nico was with her, so Abigaile felt secure. Her heart was beating so fast when she saw the man at the last table as they got inside.

Meanwhile, Enzo couldn't help but feel the fidgets. Abigaile called him in the middle of the night, telling him that she wanted to confess something. As soon as Enzo saw a familiar figure of a woman, his eyes darted to the hand that rested on her shoulder. It was a hand of a man beside her.

He couldn't help but feel unexplained anguish in his heart, but it disappeared when he saw the child he had met the day before.

Enzo immediately stood up, and the next thing he knew, he heard the child's voice asking.

"Mommy, is he my daddy?"

Enzo felt as if a bomb had been dropped where he was standing. He looked up at Abigaile, who gave him a genuine smile and stated, "Yes, Tristan, He is your real Daddy."

"Daddy!" The child ran up to him and hugged him; Enzo had no idea what to do or how to act. Enzo simply stared at the child and mumbled, "Son...you are my son...God!" He exclaimed as he hugged Tristan again, an embrace of a Father yearning for his child.

Chapter 5

Abigaile felt a lingering warmth that touches her heart upon seeing the Father and Son hugging each other. Enzo's smile was genuine. A father that yearned for his son for years and Tristan, who has been clueless about who his father was since childbirth, seeing the two is worth the confession.

Abigaile couldn't suppress her delight; after six years, Tristan had finally met his biological father, and the guilt that had been haunting her in her slumber was now alleviated.

"You did a great job, Sweetheart." Abigaile smiled upon hearing Nico behind her. He rested a

hand in her arms, and the people inside the restaurant, especially the women, couldn't help but have a sour face upon seeing a handsome gentleman beside her.

"Thank you, Nico, for guiding me to do what's right and for didn't leave me throughout the

process." Abigaile rested her head on Nico's chest.

"It's my pleasure," He said as he lifted her hand and kissed the back of it.

"Mommy! Look! I am Daddy's Mini-Version!" Abigaile immediately withdrew her hand from Nico's clasp and seemed astounded as she made a faint smile on Tristan; then, she met Enzo's stares.

"I have many questions to ask, but thank you for introducing me to our son." Enzo started with a glint of bliss in his eyes.

Abigaile puffed for air and spoke, "We can catch up soon, but for now, I wanted you to meet your son and have a moment with Tristan."

Enzo's expression brightened as he breathed in relief and stared at Tristan, "You heard it, little chump? Do you want to be with Daddy?"

Tristan jumped in glee and Exclaimed, "Yes, Daddy!"

Abigaile told Enzo their address so he could drop Tristan at home. Nico introduced himself, and the two formally shook hands. Still, Abigaile couldn't help but notice the uneasy

atmosphere between the two.

"Be a good boy to your Daddy Enzo, alright?" Abigaile reminded her son, Tristan.

"Yes, Mommy!" Tristan even made a salute stance that made Abigaile laugh for a moment.

For a moment, she remembers the resemblance between Enzo and Tristan in the past. However, it suddenly vanished when Nico called and guided her outside the restaurant.

On the other side, Enzo felt the cold sweat film his body as he stared at his son. He never thought he would have offspring with Abigaile, and Tristan suddenly happened. Enzo stared at his son for seconds until his tiny hand waved in front of him.

"Daddy! You seemed out in the space!" Tristan exclaimed and even gestured a weird movement like someone who had been floating in space.

Enzo laughed and messed with his son's hair before carrying Tristan. "Say, where do you wanna go First?"

Tristan put his little finger on his chin as if he was thinking, but the child frowned and confessed, "This was my first time here. I'm not familiar with the places, Daddy."

Enzo heaved a heavy sigh, placed his son inside his Jaguar, and put his seatbelt on, "Alright, Daddy will tour you around LA."

"Yay! This is the first time I will visit places with Daddy!" Tristan exclaimed in excitement as he even clapped his hands.

Enzo put his glasses on and started the engine of the car. First, he took Tristan to Griffith Park. From the slides to the swings, Tristan seemed to have fun while Enzo was there to

guide him. Enzo waited for his son to let himself slide on the children's playground, and Enzo would catch him when Tristan reached the end.

Then, the two had a great time in the merry-go-round. Enzo could perceive how happy Tristan was with his loud laughter and how he called him Daddy.

He didn't let any seconds pass. He toured his son around the Hollywood Sign, Universal Studios, and other destinations that suited Tristan's fancy. Enzo bought his son many toys

that were worth a thousand bucks. He didn't find it pricey; thus, whatever his son favors, he will instantly pay for it and seal it inside his car.

"Daddy! Look at how big those Lego toys are!" Tristan chirped. He stood beside the Lego that replicated the Ninjago cartoon and seemed to catch his son's interest. "Do you want to have it?" Enzo asked as he held out a hand to Tristan and his son took it.

"Can I, Daddy? Was it too pricey? You already bought me carts of toys, and Mommy will faint if she sees me having these toys." Tristan even gestured his hand on the five carts of toys that were aligned in front of the child.

Enzo cleared his throat while scratching his nape. Was he too excited that he overbought him those toys? Nevertheless, he just wanted to pamper his kid. He endeavored to make Tristan feel like he was with him despite those years that Enzo wasn't around to take

care of his child.

"It's Okay, son. Daddy will take care of the excuse. Get your Lego toys and put them inside the last cart. Then we will proceed to the counter." As Enzo instructed the staff to proceed on the counter, he told the manager that send those toys to his house since Tristan had told Enzo that Nico bought him toys the last time they first met, so his room couldn't contain too many toys anymore or else his room will burst into toys.

Enzo laughed at his son's explanation, so he ended up with the idea of having the toys in his Villa and building a room for Tristan. If the child wishes to see him, he is always welcome to come to his Villa and have time for him.

When it was already past 2 pm, Enzo couldn't help but take pictures of Tristan's adorable face secretly. He may look like a stage father, but who cares? He has a son and wants to be a good man. He is sure their resemblance couldn't deny how blood-related they were. Some women ricocheted at their spot every time they walked around and gossiped about how good-looking Tristan and Enzo were.

Enzo never imagined that Tristan would come into his life and how fateful his encounter was with Abigaile. He met their son and had the opportunity to hold Tristan's hands. Enzo wished that this moment would last forever; the warmth of holding Tristan's hands, the way he smiled at him and called him daddy melted his heart.

Enzo glanced at his wristwatch when he noticed it was getting dark, and Abigaile informed him to bring Tristan home once he was done to have a moment with him.

***

"Whoa! Daddy! I want some cotton candy!" Enzo nodded and took Tristan near the cotton candy stand. He bought him the priciest cotton candy that made Tristan's stomach grumble in hunger.

"Are you hungry? Hold the cotton candy for a moment. Let's grab a snack before you eat that, or you'll have a tummy ache." It's a good thing For Enzo that there was a fast-food chain near the Park. So that the two can grab their snack and fill their tummy with the mouthwatering food served in front of them.

"Silly," Enzo muttered as he rubbed the napkin on his son's cheeks. Enzo couldn't suppress the bliss and let out a grin, thinking about the concept that Tristan inherited the messy eating behavior of

Abigaile back then.

"Sowwy!" Tristan apologized and let out a grin. The people inside the fast-food chain found the two adorable; a father and son's moment seemed precious in their eyes and some

women inside even took a picture of them.

Enzo peeked at Tristan, who was munching his food, and asked, "How are you and your Mommy?" he asked his child before taking a bite of French fries.

"We're doing fine, Daddy, you know what? I asked Mommy why you didn't look for us; she just smiled at me and replied, you have big plans, so Mommy didn't tell you that she was carrying me." Enzo felt like a bomb had been dropped in front of him. He couldn't help but feel an unbearable pain piercing his heart.

"How about your life with Mommy when Daddy wasn't around?" Tristan took a sip of his coke before responding. Enzo couldn't take even a bite upon hearing the child's confession.

"Our life in Chicago was tough when I was born. Mommy took care of me alone while studying. I know she had a hard time because every night, I heard Mommy always cry, and she is a tough lady for raising me despite the hardships. Then, Daddy Nico

helped Mommy raise me and care for Mommy. Daddy Nico and I used to play whenever he had free time from work; he was concerned about Tristan and Mommy."

Tristan chuckled and added, "You know what, Daddy, I was thrilled when Mommy told me that you are my real Daddy, and Tristan was glad because I have two daddies!"

Enzo offered a piece of fries in his son's mouth. Tristan cheerfully took it and chewed it.

"Say, Daddy, can I call you Daddy 2?"

Enzo's brow furrowed, "Can't I be your Daddy 1 instead of Daddy 2?"

The child shook his head and smiled brightly, "No, Daddy, I already had Daddy 1, who is Daddy Nico. Therefore, you are my Daddy 2 slash, my real daddy!" Enzo nodded in response as he glanced at his child, who seemed to enjoy his meals.

Enzo couldn't help but heave a heavy sigh. He couldn't replace Nico in his son's heart because the man was there when he wasn't around to take care of Abigaile and Tristan. Nico was the one who carried out his responsibilities, acted as Tristan's father, and looked

after Abigaile while she was having difficulty parenting Tristan.

Tristan seemed caught off guard when Enzo ruffled his hair and whispered, "Now that Daddy is here, Daddy will make things up with you and Mommy. Daddy 2 will be there for Tristan and Mommy at all times." Tristan nodded happily while munching his burger.

Enzo took out his phone to check the time, and a beam crinkled in his mouth upon seeing his picture with Tristan. He had already decided. He wanted to be a more promising father and fulfilled the times when Nico wasn't around to take care of Tristan, he desired to make everything right for his child, and it was a Father's Oath.

Mommy, Where is Daddy?
