Chapter 5

Simon and John did not appear in front of me again.

At an award ceremony, there was a sudden noise not far away.

Penny, my assistant, leaned over and whispered to me, "It seems that a big shot suddenly came. Those bosses all went to the door to welcome him."

I looked in that direction too. There was only one person I knew who could make this group of high-ranking investors rush over.

As if confirming my thoughts, Simon was surrounded and led to the front row.

The organizer even asked people in the first five rows to leave just to give him a quiet environment.

Wherever Simon passed, not a blade of grass grew.

I was amused by my own thoughts. Before I could stop laughing, Simon’s assistant walked towards me from the front row.

He walked up to me with his head lowered and his attitude respectful.

"Miss White, Mr. Huss wants to see you."

"When are you going to pay back the meal you owe?"

Obviously, his voice was not low.

The people around us heard it, and those who had experienced a lot couldn't help but gasp.

Everyone in the circle knew who Simon was.

I lifted the hem of my dress to hide my uneasiness and turned to look at Lynn.

Lynn was my manager. After that incident, the company assigned her to be my manager."

Lynn was very capable and had fostered several best actresses. Over the years, she has shielded me from a lot of trouble both in public and in private.

Lynn gave me a comforting look. I calmed down and smiled at the assistant.

"Of course, I'll follow Mr. Huss's schedule."

The assistant obviously received the order and bent down.

"Mr. Huss said that he wanted to discuss the time with you in person."

Under everyone's gaze, I lifted the hem of my dress and walked to the front row.

Simon was still as carefree as before, but he didn't lose his manners. He sat there like a graceful gentleman.

However, his eyes immediately made me give up on the idea.

He was not a gentleman but a King of Hell.

I leaned against the edge of the chair, afraid of touching the corner of his clothes.

A sneer came to my ears as if mocking me for being timid.

"Miss White, you're such a busy woman."

I was not as busy as you. Did you lack a dinner?

I complained in my heart but didn't dare to show it on my face.

"Not at all. It depends on when you are free."

Simon crossed his legs and spoke in a clear and indifferent tone.

"Tonight."

He said so casually as if he was talking about the weather. I turned my head in shock and looked into his eyes. Then, I immediately nodded in agreement.

Seeing that I had agreed, Simon stood up and buttoned up his suit.

"I'll send someone to pick you up when it’s over."

After that, he turned around and left, as if he had come to this event just to ask for a meal with me.

When Simon stood up, the people around him who were waiting for an opportunity to take action followed.

I went back to my seat. Penny asked me about the situation, but I shook my head. It was too complicated, and it would not do her any good if she knew.

Although I won the award, I was still not in the mood because of Simon.

As soon as the event was over, a black Rolls-Royce slowly drove over. It was dazzling not only because of the car but also because of the license plate number.

I said goodbye to Penny and got into the car. I was in such a hurry that I did not even change my gown.

It was very quiet in the car. The driver drove steadily into the Grandview Residence.

Chapter 6

I recognized the place. It was a place where the rich and powerful often visited.

Realizing that I would spend a lot tonight, I cursed Simon in my heart. I shook my hair and went in in my high heels.

The receptionist in the front hall seemed to be used to the environment, but when she heard Simon’s name, she looked up at me in surprise.

When I passed by another private room with the door wide open, I heard my name in the conversation inside.

"Mr. Farrell, can you help me? The company has been targeted these days and I am scolded badly by father."

"Can you plead with your brother? Or I apologize to Yuki..."

Subconsciously, I looked inside and my face darkened.

It was the people in the club that day, as well as John.

He saw me too and walked towards me.

"Why are you here?"

He frowned, as though it was strange to see me here.

I crossed my arms and sneered. "Why can't I be here?"

As if he had thought of something, he grabbed my hand.

"I have something to tell you."

I shook him off and took a few steps back.

"Do you need me to remind you, John?"

"We've broken up."

John paused as if he had heard something incredible.

"Yuki, are you serious?"

I nodded and slowly appreciated my fingernails.

I had always been able to let it go.

Since he didn't respect me, there was no need for us to be together.

"Your family doesn't urge you to get married. Our agreement can be voided."

"Let's part amicably."

Ignoring his darkening face, I turned around and was about to leave.

Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and threw me against the wall.

The waiter next to him hurried forward to persuade him.

"Mr. Farrell, you..."

Before she could finish her words, she was shouted back by John.

I calmed down soon and was still in the mood to smile.

"Could it be that Mr. Farrell really has feelings for me, an actress?"

My words pulled back the scene in the private room that day. The person in front of me opened his mouth but didn't know what to say.

When had this pampered and arrogant young master ever apologized to anyone?

I felt bored and wanted to leave. While he was distracted, I pulled my hand back.

"Yuki..."

At the same time, the door of the private room next door was opened.

A voice came from inside the door, flat but creepy.

"Why haven't you come in yet? Do you want me to invite you?"

Whoever dared to ask Simon to invite him was in the same boat as the King of Hell.

I quickly slipped into the private room. John, who had come back to his senses, also recognized Simon's voice. When he saw me enter, he followed me in.

It was as if he had seen a ghost.

"Simon, why are you here... Yuki... Do you have dinner together?"

His tone was full of doubts. He glanced at Simon and recalled something. His face turned livid.

"You!"

Simon sat on a chair with his elbow resting on the armrest. I couldn’t tell anything from his calm expression, but his tone was chilling.

"Do you need me to teach you the rules on behalf of Zick?"

He suppressed his anger and said, "Yuki is my girlfriend. I'll take her away."

After that, he grabbed my hand and was about to take me away.

A light voice came from behind him.

"Stop right there."

"Did I allow you to leave?"
