Chapter 1
Everyone in New York knew that John had a mistress in the entertainment industry.
Someone teased him. "She's just an actress."
He smiled and didn't take it to heart.
But who would have thought that the girl would hurt him and fly into someone else's arms?
When I received the news to pick up John, I had just finished the scene of falling into the water.
I changed my clothes in a hurry and rushed to the club.
When I arrived, I hadn't even dried my hair. Before I could push the door open, I heard a teasing voice coming from inside.
"Mr. Farrell, why hasn't your mistress come yet? Didn't you say that she could be called over by a message?"
Someone next to him chimed in, "Yuki is a big star after all. She's always surrounded by people when she goes out. How could she come here so easily?"
The man glanced at John and saw that he was still smiling without saying anything, so he continued.
"Aren't all female celebrities eager to meet Mr. Farrell?"
"Wasn’t that the star who acted in the fairy drama some time ago..."
"I saw it in the club..."
The men laughed knowingly. I suppressed the discomfort and pushed the door open.
Everyone turned to look at me, and I looked straight at John.
He was surrounded by girls who didn't move away when they saw me.
On the contrary, they squeezed into his arms more wantonly and looked at me.
The woman said, "I am familiar with your name, but I didn't expect you to be the superstar. I watched your TV series some time ago!"
I walked to the sofa in my high heels and motioned for the woman to move aside.
The woman glanced at John. Seeing that he had no reaction, she became more and more bold.
"No way. First come first served."
"Besides, Mr. Farrell hasn't said anything yet. We don't dare to move."
She straightened her back, showing me John’s hand on her waist.
"John, did you call me here to let me see this?"
I crossed my arms in front of my chest. My pride had forced me to endure to the extreme.
The people in the private room had been looking at me since I came in. After a brief moment of surprise, they seemed to be looking at an object.
Their gaze was full of curiosity, contempt, and even deep meaning.
Their stares were so blunt as to be offensive.
John finally moved. Without looking at me, he reached out and picked up a bottle of wine from the table.
There was only the sound of wine being poured in the room. The woman next to him took the glass and leaned against him.
"Mr. Farrell, let me propose a toast to you."
She tried to seduce the man in front of her in a delicate tone.
John curled his lips and moved closer.
There was a burst of laughter in the private room. Someone stood up, walked up to me, and patted me.
"Miss White, she is sensible."
A familiar voice. I dodged his hand and frowned.
The man's face darkened. As if he was worried about something, he glanced at John. When he saw that John didn't look over, he became bolder.
"You're just an actress. Don't pretend to be lofty!"
His voice was not low, and everyone around could hear it.
John, however, did not turn his head. He was at ease with his women.
I was so angry that I laughed. The man thought that I had surrendered and was about to reach out his hand.
Slap!
I slapped him in the face.
This slap not only broke the bustle in the private room but also shattered my last hope.
Chapter 2
After leaving the private room, I looked at John.
"Break up."
Without hesitation, I turned around, pushed the door open, and left, isolating myself from the sound of glass breaking behind me.
As soon as I closed the door, I lost the composure I'd just forced myself to have.
After staying up all night filming and falling into the cold water, I could feel the heat on my forehead without touching it.
When one's body was weak, it was easy for one to think about emotions.
John's indifferent expression, and the way he was making out with someone else, all irritated me.
I leaned against the door of the club and waited for my assistant to pick me up.
It was also on such a night that I was surrounded by at the dinner party. After I rushed out of the private room, they were still chasing me.
I suddenly found that there was something wrong with the wine I drank, and a strange feeling rushed straight to my brain.
My vision was blurred, and the whole world was spinning.
In a panic, I grabbed the hem of someone's clothes, and the man who was surrounded stopped in his tracks.
He looked at me for a long time. For some reason, the people behind him didn't dare to approach me.
I noticed his gaze scanning my face.
After a while, he squatted down on one knee and held my wrist.
"What?"
The alcohol had intoxicated my rationality. I felt that the pair of eyes I was looking at were a little familiar.
"Take me away."
I didn't beg him. I just said three words.
The man lowered his eyes and dismissed the people who tried to step forward.
He held my waist with one hand to support me.
"Alright."
He didn't ask anything.
Everything that happened afterward seemed to be natural.
To cope with the family's forced marriage, John came to me.
"Be my girlfriend."
"Help me deal with my family."
Just like when I said 'take me away', I didn't hesitate this time.
"Alright."
But in the end, I, an actress, made it real.
Step by step, I approached him and fell in love with him.
John accepted me crossing the line and silently allowed me to get closer.
I thought that after getting along with him day by day, he would soon marry me.
I didn't expect the end of the story to come so quickly.
"She's just an actress."
I smiled self-deprecatingly. Those people who looked at me when I entered the room seemed to have mistaken me.
So that's what the people around him think of me.
I would never allow myself to condescend to like him, to lose my self-respect.
I stood up straight. My assistant sent me a message saying that the car was rear-ended on the road.
I shook my dizzy head and frowned to comfort her.
It had already rained heavily outside, so I tidied up my clothes.
A group of people rushed out of the club, and soon a car stopped at the door.
The crowd stood in front of the car door, and their faces were full of fear.
The manager personally opened the back door and held the umbrella.
A pair of leather shoes stepped out of the car, and a tall and straight figure stepped out.
The edge of the black umbrella covered most of the man's face.
I didn't have time to care about others. I just felt it was too noisy.
The next second, I felt dizzy.
I couldn't stand still.
I thought to myself, "Fortunately, I didn't faint in the private room. Otherwise, John would laugh at me."
I thought I was going to fall to the hard ground, but I didn't expect to fall into a hug.
The scent of the snow pine tree rushed into my nose, along with a little tipsy.
In a trance, I saw a man.
He half-knelt, put his arms around my waist, and held me in his arms.
Chapter 3
His voice was low and deep as he chuckled.
"I told you, don't fall into my arms again."
"Yuki, this is the second time."
When I was half awake, I found that someone was touching my limbs.
I felt a piercing pain on my skin. I frowned and tried to withdraw my hand to avoid it.
However, I didn't succeed and was suppressed by someone with his hands.
Perhaps it was because of my illness, I, who had always been strong, felt a little aggrieved.
Not only did I fail, but I was also forced to do so. I half-opened my eyes, which were filled with tears.
The light above my head was not dazzling. There was a figure beside me, looking cold and serious.
He looked down at me and stared at my tears.
"Why are you so delicate?"
He reached out to wipe away my tears.
The injection took effect in my body.
The hand on the side of my face moved to my eyelids. He gently stroked my eyelids and motioned for me to close my eyes.
"Have a sleep."
When I woke up, I found myself in an unfamiliar environment.
I was only wearing a silk nightdress, and there was nothing unusual about my body.
The faint fragrance of snow pine on the quilt made me feel at ease.
I looked around and looked out of the window.
In New York, where every inch of land is expensive, the house I was in should be very expensive.
There were not many things in the room, but the decoration was exquisite.
On the wall hung the high-priced authentic work that had been sold at the HK auction some time ago.
Somehow, I heaved a sigh of relief.
I didn't know who the owner of this house was, but selling me wouldn't be enough to buy the edges of this painting.
What was there to be afraid of when the owner didn't care about women or money?
I got out of bed and opened the door a little.
A strange man's voice came from outside.
"Miss White was offended by Mr. Farrell and a few other young men with him in the club yesterday. They spoke rudely."
His words were euphemistic. The man in front of him had been through a lot, so how could he not know these dirty things?
Fortunately, Yuki had left early and did not hear that.
The assistant noticed no change in his demeanor.
But he didn't dare to relax at all.
Now, this man had done all the means of these young masters in New York in the past. It was too shameful.
In the early years, he had done many deviant things. Three years ago, his former assistant was dismissed from an incident, and the Old Master couldn't control him. So he had to let him do as he pleased.
After that, the assistant was promoted. Since then, he remembered to report everything about Yuki to him.
Those people did what he hated most, and the assistant couldn't help but feel nervous for them.
Simon lifted his eyelids. His gaze was as sharp as a blade, causing him to hold his breath.
"Contact Zick Farrell."
He didn't mention anyone else. It wasn't that he was letting them go, but that he didn't care at all.
The true leader of the Farrell family was Zick Farrell.
After reporting, the assistant was about to turn around and leave when his eyes swept over the half-open door.
"Miss, Miss White."
Simon turned his head. When he looked at me, my heartbeat seemed to skip a beat.
The man sitting on the sofa was relaxed all over, with his legs crossed casually.
I had seen him before. He was one of the best in the upper class of New York.
Simon Huss.
Not long after I promised to pretend to be John’s girlfriend, he took me to a party.
There was an unwritten rule in the party that the people who were surrounded in the middle were often the most powerful.
