Chapter 1

My younger sister, Natasha Carter, is three months pregnant when she is delivered to a group of rich scions, who decide to play a special game with her that involves guessing her baby's gender.

Unable to escape from them, poor Natasha chooses to commit suicide after suffering from a mental breakdown. Her naked body is later on discovered lying in a puddle of her own blood.

I'm enraged, to say the least. My wife, Josephine Floyd, is equally furious, too. She claims that she will seek justice on Natasha's behalf.

But when her childhood friend, Jacob Keller, flaunts the fact that he's the mastermind of that game, Josephine changes her tune instantly and advises me to be more gracious.

"Jacob is a playful guy. Don't take what he did to heart, yeah?"

Jacob remains nonchalant as ever. "Natasha got pregnant out of wedlock, after all. Yet, she pretended to be a chaste virgin."

With reddened eyes, I sock Jacob in the face. I want him to pay the price with his own life too.

But Josephine responds by smashing a wine bottle into my head. Then, she tosses a luxury watch she has intended to give to the winner onto my face.

"Your sister is the shameless one here, Horace! Here, this watch should be enough to compensate for your loss!

"Jacob is the heir of the Keller family, you know! A broke peasant like you should learn to be grateful with what you have!"

With a sneer, I smash the watch into splinters.

Trust me, this watch is incapable of saving Jacob and the other scions from the wrath of the family that has sired two generations of secret agents who've been carrying out classified missions for the nation.

"This watch is worth millions. Don't act like you don't know what it's worth!"

Jacob Keller kicked my younger sister Natasha Carter's body aside and glared at me.

The wealthy men in the room looked at me as if I were worth nothing. "She was just a tramp. If it weren't for Josephine, we wouldn't even give you a single cent!"

Jacob couldn't care less. After all, treating people this way was nothing new to him.

"You only got together with Josephine for her money, didn't you? Stop pretending you're above all this."

Josephine Floyd gave Jacob a reproachful shove before turning to me, her eyes cold and impatient.

"Who wouldn't be upset to have a sister who brought shame on the family? Jacob was helping you remove the stain from your family's name. You should be thanking him instead. Stop making a fuss."

I gritted my teeth, my hands trembling as I pulled the bedsheet off and covered my sister's battered body.

Soon, her husband, Caleb Locke, would be retiring from service, and Natasha was about to become a mother. They could have been a happy little family, but these bastards ruined everything.

The hatred in my eyes burned even stronger. "Thank him? I'm going to kill him!"

Josephine was taken aback by my expression, but quickly regained her composure.

"Don't you get it? Your sister killed herself. Jacob and the others were just having a bit of fun. How could you blame him for her death? You're way too unreasonable."

I immediately slapped Josephine. "Just having a bit of fun? You bastards! Was my sister's life nothing to you?"

My actions set everyone off. They swarmed me at once and started beating me up.

At first, I had the upper hand, but someone used a taser on me. I immediately collapsed to the ground, convulsing uncontrollably. Fists and kicks rained down on me.

Jacob stepped on my face, pressing it into the floor again and again. Then he pulled Josephine into his arms and kissed the cheek I had slapped earlier.

"My friends told me your sister was begging for it last night. She wasn't exactly unwilling. You just want to squeeze money out of us, don't you?"

Josephine covered her face, looking furious. "Go on. Tell us. How much will it take?"

The disgust and contempt in her eyes pierced my heart like a knife.

I loved Josephine so much that I was willing to put up with her affair with Jacob, but I could never accept her turning a blind eye to him killing Natasha.

Natasha was worth more than anything else in this world. No amount of money could ever make up for it.

Chapter 2

I struggled to my feet, grabbed the ashtray on the table, and hurled it at Jacob's head.

In a panic, Josephine immediately yanked the bedsheet off Natasha's body and quickly took several photos of her.

"If you dare hurt Jacob, I'll post all these photos online!"

I turned to Josephine in horror and lunged for her phone. "Don't you dare!"

The others immediately seized the chance, tackling me to the ground and shocking me with a taser again and again.

Jacob was furious that I refused to take a hint. He pointed at their assortment of devices and said, "She's already taken some photos. Let's make things more interesting."

Agony tore through me as I screamed at Josephine at the top of my lungs. "Josephine! Natasha saved your life once! If you've got any shred of conscience left, stop him!"

Josephine stepped back in silence.

Jacob grinned viciously, selected a few disgusting-looking devices, and said to the others, "Use them all!"

They pawed at Natasha's body, spouting vulgarities.

"What a pity. We didn't get to use any of this while she was still alive. Otherwise, it would've been so much fun."

Jacob's eyes landed on Natasha's slightly swollen stomach.

"About that, our little game isn't over yet. We still don't know who got the baby's gender right."

He handed Josephine a knife.

"Josephine, haven't you always wanted to be a doctor? This is the perfect time to be one. Why don't you help us to have a look? My friends here want to know who won the bet."

I struggled, wanting to lunge at them, but they held me down and tied me up across from Natasha.

Jacob's tone turned harsh. "As her older brother, he should be here to witness the birth of his sister's child."

I stared at Josephine pleadingly. "Josephine, I'm begging you. Don't do this!"

My voice was hoarse and strained, filled with pain.

Josephine didn't even flinch. She took the knife and walked over to Natasha's body. She frowned, as if she had just touched something disgusting.

Blood splattered all across the floor as I roared for her to stop. Jacob had someone pry open my mouth and shove tons of glass shards inside my mouth, causing it to bleed. He even forbade me from spitting anything out, making it hard to even speak.

Everyone crowded around in excitement. Soon, they started cursing. "We can't tell if it's male or female. Could it be that she's carrying some kind of monster?"

"She had always been pretty wild. It's no surprise she's pregnant with a monster."

"I'm telling you. Given Josephine's skills, I bet she could be a brilliant doctor."

Josephine was so pleased with their compliments.

After wiping her hands, she got all of the glass shards out of my mouth. "Honey, now that they've had their fun, they won't hold it against you for trying to squeeze money out of them. Let's pretend this never happened, alright?"

I spat blood in her face. "I want a divorce!"

Josephine was shocked and angry. She lowered her voice and warned me. "Can't you just endure this? I'm already pregnant. I don't want to lose the father of my child!"

I let out a sarcastic chuckle. On the day of our wedding, Jacob had shown up to make a fuss, yet she told me to put up with it, saying she couldn't afford to offend the Kellers. Still, she had chosen to marry me.

On the day of our honeymoon, Jacob destroyed my passport and boarded the plane with Josephine.

Chapter 3

Josephine told me to put up with everything, saying she was only playing along with Jacob and would never betray me.

Now that Jacob had killed Natasha, Josephine was still using the same excuse to fool me. It seemed Natasha's life was worth nothing to her.

Josephine was no different from Jacob and the others after all. I had been so blinded by my love for her that I failed to see her true colors.

I smiled bitterly. "I'm not worthy to be the father of your baby!"

Blood dripped from my mouth with every word I spoke. "Falling for you and marrying you were the two biggest mistakes of my life! Someone's going to pay for my sister's death, whether it's you or me!"

Josephine seized my arm tightly, tears welling in her eyes. "You can't say nonsense like that! I won't allow it! And I'll never divorce you! We're about to be a family of three soon."

With that, she even stepped forward to kiss me. "You have to understand I'm doing this for us."

I turned my head away in disgust.

Jacob pulled Josephine, who looked wounded, into his arms. He then kicked me in the stomach. "How dare you make Josephine cry!"

Then he kissed her in front of me, slipping his hands under her shirt. "Stop crying. You know I'm the one who treats you best, don't you?"

Josephine was kissed until her cheeks flushed red. "Stop. My husband's watching us."

Jacob pushed her back onto the couch. "That's okay. Ever since you got married, you've barely hooked up with us since you got married. We should get back at him by doing this right now."

The other men looked excited, their eyes lighting up as they drew closer in anticipation.

"That's right. Without Josephine around, it's not even fun anymore. The woman last night couldn't even compare to you."

Josephine glanced at me guiltily. But very quickly, she became dazed under his touch.

The scene before me felt absurd. Was this Josephine's so-called idea of love?

A wave of disgust washed over me, making me gag repeatedly. Even if I shut my eyes to block out what they were doing, their disgusting sounds still drifted into my ears.

Later, they felt there wasn't enough room on the couch, so all of them moved into the bedroom.

I wasn't sure who had accidentally kicked the knife over to my feet. I struggled over, held back my fury and disgust, and slowly cut through the ropes.

Once I was done, I quickly found my phone, which they had taken away earlier.

I was about to make a call when someone suddenly smashed a chair onto my back, and Josephine's angry voice rang out. "Jacob was right. You refuse to give up, and now you're trying to call the cops on us?"

Someone picked up the phone and began cursing. "He actually paid someone to smear Jacob online!"

The man showed everyone the chat logs, proving that I had paid someone to spread rumors about Jacob. Now, he was trending online as a shameless homewrecker.

But I hadn't even done it. The conversation happened while I was tied up, but Josephine didn't even notice the obvious loophole and slapped me hard.

"Jacob likes to have a bit of fun, that's all. And now you want to ruin him for good? You're so vicious!"

In a rage, Josephine immediately started posting all the disgusting photos she had just taken of my sister's body.

"You made me do this!"

Like a madman, I lunged forward to snatch the phone from her, but the other men knocked me to the ground and stomped on the wrist holding it.

"You did this to Jacob first. You can't blame me for being so cruel!"

I grabbed Josephine's leg tightly.
