Chapter 3
[You can’t change who you are. Your education is just a disguise!]
[You deserve to marry a poor old man and give birth to a bunch of good-for-nothings!]
It was clear who was behind this.
I was about to turn my phone off and rest when my best friend, Melanie Brown, called me.
“Aspen, I saw a social media post about you that had at least 100,000 clicks!” She sounded anxious and concerned.
“Did you offend anyone? Your phone number and social media accounts have been exposed online. Also…”
I clicked the link she had sent me and discovered that Fiona had posted it.
[Exposing the fake witch who always does overtime in our company!]
However, I just scrolled through the post robotically.
In the post, she claimed that I was a cheapskate who wanted to sleep my way to the top.
She even claimed that I had caused a huge scene because I failed to seduce our boss.
The comments under the post were cruel and horrendous.
[How shameless! I hope karma gets her and her family!]
[With her appearance, she deserves to be sold off to an old man!]
[I’ve saved her phone number. Let’s all give her a call and rebuke her!]
[I’ve already sent her a follow request. I’m going to curse at her and her family!]
“Aspen? Aspen? Are you still listening to me? Are you alright?”
It sounded like Melanie had been crying.
“Melanie, I’m fine.” I took a deep breath.
“Don’t worry. I’ll make sure they all get what they deserve.”
The next day, I felt tension in the air the moment I entered the company.
Everyone was giving me meaningful looks.
However, it was not until I walked into the office that I saw it. Someone had written horrible words about me using red lipstick.
Fiona stood there with her arms crossed as she stared triumphally at me.
“Hey, are you here for free electricity again? Are you planning to visit the police station again today?”
I stood there and took a deep breath. I told myself that I should not lose my cool like I did yesterday.
Then, I quietly walked to my desk and wiped the writing away with some wet wipes.
“Aspen, are you mute?”
Fiona slammed her hands against my desk.
“I’m telling you. If you’re not paying for the electricity bill and my emotional distress, you won’t be leaving the office today!”
I stopped wiping and looked up.
My colleagues were startled, and they quickly looked away.
However, I sounded very calm.
“Fiona, I’ll make the payment to finance. Please excuse me as I need to work.”
“Work? You dare talk about work? You’re just a shameless woman who wants free electricity from the company and wants to sleep your way up!”
Those insults from the comments immediately filled my mind again.
Even so, I straightened up and switched on my work computer.
Fiona noticed that I was ignoring her, so she lashed out at the poor intern.
“Lynn Watsons! Are you blind? Can’t you see there’s trash around here? Clean this place up!”
The stuff that Fiona had thrown out of my bag was still on the table.
Lynn walked over carefully and swept everything into the bin.
“Hey, stop. Let me see what that is.”
Fiona abruptly bent down and picked up a white name card from the pile of things.
“Hey, traitor. Have you already gotten another job lined up? You even have a new name card…”
All of a sudden, she paused, and her hand that held the name card started trembling.
I chuckled.
At the same time, my secretary, Jane, entered and walked toward me before passing me a document.
“Ms. Johnson, this is Galaxy Corporation’s purchase agreement. Please review it.”
