Chapter 3

At that moment, I realized that Megan might have returned home.

They had always been in touch!

I wanted to question Patrick but I felt so tired to ask him.

We had only been married for more than a year, but I was already exhausted.

After that, Patrick said he would go on business trips continuously and wouldn't be home for several days.

I didn't ask any questions but simply replied, "Okay."

I knew he was lying to me because his position didn't require him to leave the company at all.

He was just lying to me in order to have a night out with his lover.

I didn't bother to expose him.

Because I didn't care about him anymore.

It was 8 o'clock in the evening and Patrick hadn't come back yet.

In the past, if he hadn't come home this late, I would have called him like crazy, afraid that he would be asked for the number or be accosted by someone. I was even more afraid that he was drunk outside and got hit by a car.

But at this point...

I didn't care even if he died outside.

I turned off my phone and fell asleep.

At some point, the sound of the door opening woke me up.

Patrick ordered me as usual.

"Nora, serve me a glass of water."

In the past, I would have already attentively helped him boil water, set the temperature in the bathroom, and prepared desserts and fruits for him.

I casually replied, "I'm sleeping. Don't disturb me."

Patrick walked into the bedroom, with a strong scent of perfume from Megan mixed with the alcohol.

"Are you jealous again?"

"How many times have I said that Megan and I are just friends? You shouldn't be so sensitive every time."

He thought I was sulking about the wedding.

"As you can see, in that situation, as a groomsman, I could only sit with the bridesmaid."

"Is kissing necessary?" I sneered.

Patrick's face turned dark, "That was just a program arranged by the host. Besides, she was so drunk and someone had to take her home."

I sneered.

With so many people, why did it have to be my husband who went to send her?

When I was in school before, many boys who were good at drinking couldn't beat Megan.

There was no way he couldn't see that Megan was pretending to be drunk.

"You can do whatever you want. No need to explain it to me."

"What do you mean?"

"You heard it."

Patrick frowned, sensing that something was wrong with me today.

After all, in the past, he would have been able to coax me with a couple of casual explanations.

"Nora, what's wrong with you today?"

I said calmly, "I'm fine, better than ever!"

"Stop messing around, okay?"

Patrick was a little angry.

"I told you, I'm fine. You shouldn't have come back tonight. You should sleep with Megan. Isn't that what you want the most?"

"You said you weren't jealous!"

Patrick's eyebrows relaxed, finally hearing what he wanted to hear.

"Okay, I'll try to avoid her in the future. I feel uncomfortable being sticky all over. Go and prepare for me. I want to take a bath."

He served other women outside, but he wanted me to serve him when he came back.

What a joke!

"I told you I wanted to sleep!"

Chapter 4

Patrick was a little annoyed, his gaze fierce.

"I said I will have less contact with her in the future. What else do you want?"

"Hurry up and prepare for me. Don't piss me off!"

I suddenly got up.

"Patrick, since I married you, I have been obedient to you and never asked for anything from you. I don't owe you anything so let's be at peace. Don't force me to expose you."

Finally, Patrick broke out.

"Nora, have I been too indulgent to you recently? Don't force me to divorce you!"

I sneered in my heart. Whenever he didn't come home at night, or even stayed out all night, all he cared about was whether I had prepared hangover soup and bath water for him.

He could always take advantage of my caring for him and threaten me with divorce.

I was tired of hearing that!

I raised my head and smiled coldly, "Alright, let's get divorced then."

"What did you just say?"

Patrick was stunned and frowned even tighter.

Then, he suddenly grabbed the TV remote control and threw it hard on the ground.

"You said it yourself. Don't regret it!"

At the end of every argument, he would always lose his temper to make me feel that I really made a mistake.

Back then, because I loved him, I would always compromise.

Now, I didn't love him anymore and he was nothing to me!

Patrick left home and didn't return all night.

The next morning, he was drunk and unconscious.

And the one who brought him back was none other than his ex-girlfriend, Megan.

As soon as the door opened, Megan said with dissatisfaction.

"How do you take care of Patrick? How can you let him go out for a drink so late at night? What if he gets hit by a car?"

It sounded so intimate.

I casually replied, "I don't worry. You're there for him, aren't you?"

Megan frowned, "You're not worried, but do you know what he said when he was drunk?"

"What does it have to do with me?"

Megan said angrily, "He cried and said that as long as you could forgive him, he would never see me again!"

I said indifferently, "Isn't this normal? He shouldn't have any contact with you anymore. Since you have rekindled your old feelings, just tell me. I can fulfill your wishes. Don't hide like a rat!"

"I know you care about my relationship with Patrick. But do you know that he spent all the money he had in order to buy you that car you liked?"

"He has done all this. Why can't you be more tolerant of him?!"

I sneered, "Tolerate him? I'd rather tolerate a dog!"

Megan got a little angry and pointed at my nose.

"How can you speak like this? Since he chose to marry you and is willing to spend all his money on you, you should take good care of him!"

"He is your husband!"

If I didn't know the truth, I might have believed her nonsense.

I allowed them to be intimate in front of me and they really thought I was weak and easily bullied.

I impatiently pushed away her hand.

"It's true that he is my husband. But you know better than me who he has in his heart!"

I stared at her firmly, "It's true that he brought a car. But are you sure the car belongs to me!?"

Hearing this, Megan's face changed suddenly.

"What did you just say?"
