Chapter 3
I was unfamiliar with the place on the first day of moving into the villa.
Until I heard an embarrassing sound at the door of a bedroom, I felt a chill all over my body.
Yahir's voice was not unfamiliar to me.
But that woman...
"Mine is good, or hers?"
Confirming that it was Carissa, my mind buzzed.
"Yours is good; yours is comfortable."
Shameless!
"Yahir, come out," I banged on the door, disturbing the two inside.
Yahir tried to get up, but Carissa held him back, "Forget her? Let's finish first."
"Is there anyone in the world so shameless?" I thought.
I picked up the plant rack in the corridor and knocked on the door.
The two people inside paused, and Carissa appeared at the door, her face flushed and round.
She remained naked in the intimate moment with Yahir, showing no signs of discomfort from being fully seen.
The accumulated fat all over her body made me feel sick.
"What the hell are you knocking on the door in the middle of the night? Go back to your room."
"You shameless woman, seducing my husband!" I had a marriage certificate with Yahir and was confident.
"You think you're someone, you piece of junk?" Carissa's intimate moment was disrupted, fueling her anger even further. Without hesitation, she raised her hand and slapped me across the face.
I was stunned by this slap.
She still wanted to hit me. Yahir rushed out with a towel wrapped around him and grabbed her hand.
His face had a subservient look that I had never seen before.
"Don't do this. She's just a tool for reproduction. If she gets hurt, it will affect the child."
My world went blank. "I am his wife. How did I become a tool for reproduction?"
Carissa was still very angry, "I didn't want to pretend in the first place. Since she knew our relationship, let her see the truth. Lock her up first, and we'll talk when I feel comfortable."
"Hubby, how could you betray me?" I burst into tears.
Yahir coaxed and dragged me back to the room, "Jolie, calm down and take a rest. We'll talk later."
How could I stay calm at a time like this?
I clung to him tightly, refusing to let him return to that elderly woman.
Yahir hesitated to speak, but just then, Carissa's fierce and impatient voice rang out from outside, "Yahir, if you're not afraid of the consequences, stay here with her!"
Yahir trembled, and his expression became indifferent and ruthless.
"Be careful of the child in your belly. If anything happens to him, you'll be dead right now."
He shook off my hands and locked the door when he went out.
I sat on the bed, feeling sad and helpless.
Chapter 4
I met Yahir four months ago.
When I graduated from college, I couldn't find a job. My family couldn't afford to support me anymore, so I went to work in a factory with my high school diploma.
Yahir was my team leader. He was six years older than me and took very good care of me from the beginning.
His meticulous and considerate pursuit of me warmed the heart of a woman who had left her hometown to work.
In the second month of our relationship, we got the marriage certificate.
Not long after, I became pregnant.
On the day I went to the hospital for confirmation, he brought me to this villa in the suburbs.
I thought it was a surprise, but it turned out to be a shock.
He said to wait for a while, but I ended up being locked up overnight.
The next morning, Yahir came to open the door.
He appeared utterly exhausted, with pronounced bags under his eyes, suggesting he'd spent the entire night with her.
"Come out. Your good days are over."
I followed him into the living room.
Carissa was heavily made up, dressed to the nines, and lounging comfortably on the sofa with her fat body.
"Kneel down and listen to me," said Carissa.
"I bow my head in reverence to the heavens above, the earth beneath my feet, and the memory of my ancestors. Who do you imagine yourself to be?"
I stood there, not falling for her tricks.
Carissa grabbed the ashtray from the coffee table and smashed it at my feet.
She was so fast that by the time I reacted, the top of my left foot had already been smashed, and blood was flowing continuously.
I sat on the ground, with a face full of pain.
But Yahir remained indifferent.
Carissa impatiently snapped at Yahir, "With such low intelligence, even her child is an idiot. It's better to bury her and have another woman give birth."
I took a deep breath. "What kind of place had I come to, where human life was cheap?"
Perhaps Yahir still had some feelings for me; he said something to protect me, "Natural conception is too troublesome. She hasn't figured out the situation yet. Give her some time."
Carissa snorted and stared at me with a sinister look, "My name is Carissa Farnham, do you know who I am now?"
I was so shocked that I couldn't feel the pain in my feet.
Although I hadn't seen the biggest boss since I entered the factory, I had seen the chairman's name on the documents.
"Is she the one who can stamp the company seal on her name?" I thought.
Chapter 5
"Your marriage certificate is fake; we are the real couple; when Carissa said this, she glanced at Yahir ambiguously.
Yahir hurriedly kissed her on the face in response.
I feel not only disgusted, but also contaminated myself.
"He needs to have a child and send it back to his hometown to raise. From now on, you will be the nanny of this house and obediently give birth to the child here. Maybe I can let you leave alive."
"I won't keep this child. What era is it? Can you still be so lawless?" I spoke.
Unable to have children, the old woman devised a cunning plan to satisfy Yahir's family in his hometown by letting me get pregnant.
I would never be willing to become their tool for giving birth.
Carissa's face froze, "You don't know how to appreciate. Take her to the basement."
Yahir lifted me up and walked through the invisible door under the stairs, leading to the dim basement.
This place was like a world of inhumanity.
Several men and women who couldn't even lift their heads were tied up.
They were in a dazed state, their naked bodies marred by festering wounds.
Eating, drinking, and excreting were all done within a one-meter radius. Even with a ventilation fan, the smell was indescribable.
My stomach churned.
But Yahir introduced them to me as if nothing was out of the ordinary, "These are the unsatisfactory nannies. They are already missing persons and will never get out in this lifetime. And those..." He paused, "They are men who Mrs. Farnham has used up. They will be kept alive until they die."
"Are they fools? Can't they escape?"
"Escape?"
Yahir laughed and took out his phone to read out the address of my home.
I shivered.
"If they ran away, and the ones tied up here are their closest people. Take him for example..." Yahir pointed at a man with broken legs and a swollen face. "When he still had strength, he escaped once, but Mrs. Farnham caught his younger brother and his mother, and his father obediently sent him back. Don't you want to tie up your mother here one day?"
This was a demon's den, a purgatory!
I was nervous and scared, tears streaming down my face.
Yahir pinched my face, forcing me to remember this scene before me, "Give birth to the child honestly, and you still have hope of getting out alive. If you don't obedient, this is where you belong. Jolie, you're not a fool. You know how to choose, right?"
