Chapter 2
Lilith’s POV
I woke up to a silence. My head felt heavy, pounding with a dull ache.
For a moment, I couldn’t even recognize where I was. The unfamiliar surroundings, the sterile smell of herbs, and the soft crackle of a fire nearby did nothing.
"You’re finally awake."
Startled, I turned toward the voice, my body tensing. Standing beside me was Alicia, the lead healer of our pack.
"W-Why am I here?" I asked, my voice trembling.
Alicia’s eyes softened with concern. She hesitated, as if carefully choosing her words. "A servant brought you here," she began gently. "And… you’re pregnant."
Her words hung in the air like a heavy weight, crashing into me with full force.
My eyes widened in disbelief. "What? How… how could that happen?" My voice was barely above a whisper, the question directed more at myself than at her.
I felt my chest tighten, my heartbeat quickening as the reality of her statement began to sink in.
Pregnant.
The word echoed in my mind, twisting and turning, refusing to settle.
I knew how it happened. Of course, I did.
Kael and I… we’d been intimate often. But it was never out of love or desire. No, Kael didn’t see me that way.
Ever since I become his mate, I felt like nothing more than a tool.
“To make yourself useful, I’ll make you my breeder.”
He never treated me like a partner. There was no tenderness, no affection—only coldness and cruelty.
When he was stressed or angry, he’d take it out on me in the most brutal ways.
He’d shove me onto the bed, his grip unyielding as he pinned me down.
"Stop resisting, Lily!" he’d shout, his voice harsh and filled with disdain.
"I don’t care about you! I’m just using you!"
Those words, sharp and venomous, replayed in my mind. Even in his absence, they lingered, echoing in the silence. Night after night, I endured his aggression, his frustration, his need to release whatever anger he carried.
And me? I was naïve. Foolish. Despite the pain and humiliation, I loved him. I clung to the hope that somewhere deep inside, he cared for me too. That maybe, one day, he’d change. So, I let him do as he pleased. I told myself it was okay, even when it wasn’t.
But I never expected this. I never thought I’d end up pregnant.
"Does Kael know?" I asked Alicia, dread creeping into my voice as I fought to steady my breathing.
She nodded slowly. "Yes, the Alpha knows."
"Where is he?"
Alicia’s face fell, and she hesitated again before answering. "He left you here. And… he hasn’t come back since."
Her words hit me like a punch to the gut. The air seemed to leave the room, and my chest tightened with an overwhelming sense of abandonment. He knew, and yet, he wasn’t here.
I swung my legs over the side of the bed and stood up abruptly.
"Wait! Where are you going?" Alicia’s voice was full of worry. "You need to rest, Lily. Your body is still recovering, and your pregnancy is still fragile. You could harm yourself or the baby!"
"I’m fine," I said firmly, brushing past her. My tone left no room for argument, but inside, I was falling apart. "I need to find him."
I barely heard her calling after me as I stumbled out of the healer’s quarters. The cool air outside hit my face, but it did nothing to ease the chaos within me.
I spotted Lucius, our Beta.
"Lucius!" I called out, quickening my pace toward him. "Have you seen Kael?"
He turned to me, his expression a mix of surprise and hesitation. "Yeah… he’s at your house."
I didn’t wait for further explanation. Without another word, I ran, my heart pounding louder with each step. By the time I reached the house, my hands were trembling. I pushed the door open, my voice breaking as I called out.
"Kael? Are you here?"
At first, there was only silence. But then, faint sounds reached my ears.
Low moans and gasps, unmistakable and chilling. My breath hitched.
"Ah, Kael… fuck! Alpha… oohh…!"
I froze, my blood running cold.
Chapter 3
Lilith’s POV
My stomach churned, and my legs felt like they might give out beneath me. But I forced myself to move, following the sounds.
Each step brought me closer to the bedroom…
Our bedroom.
The door was slightly ajar, and as I peered inside, my worst fears were confirmed.
Kael was there… fucking Kathryn.
“K-Kael, what is this?!”
I threw the door open, and there he was.
He was naked, his manhood was inside the most beautiful and envied woman in our village, Kathryn.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Kael roared, his voice filled with anger.
"Who told you to interrupt us?!" His piercing glare made me feel as though I was the one in the wrong.
Kathryn, ever the dramatic one, let out a sharp gasp.
"Oh my god, what is she doing here?!" she sneered, her tone dripping with rudeness.
I instinctively clutched my stomach, taking a step back, trying to hold myself together.
"Kael… w-why are you doing this?"
He stood up, unbothered by his nakedness, and marched toward me. His eyes were wild, filled with rage and disgust. Without warning, he grabbed me by the throat, squeezing hard.
"You have no right to question me!" he spat. "What you’re seeing is my life—this is what I do! You don’t get to interfere with my choices!"
"Kael, please!" I choked, tears streaming down my face. "You’re hurting me. Let me go!"
But instead of releasing me, he shoved me with such force that I fell to the floor. Pain shot through my body as my face hit the cold, hard ground. My head throbbed, but worse than the physical pain was the humiliation.
As I lay there, trembling, Kathryn crouched beside me, her smile wicked. She grabbed my chin roughly, forcing me to look at her.
"Just because you're the fated mate of the Alpha doesn’t mean you can dictate his life," she sneered, her voice venomous. "Remember, you’re just an Omega. You don’t even have a wolf spirit, so stop acting like you’re anything special!"
With a cruel laugh, she released me and stood, brushing off her hands as if touching me had rotten her.
“Kael, p-please!” I called out, my voice breaking. “I’m pregnant, and you’re the father!”
He stopped for a moment, glancing back at me with cold, empty eyes.
"I know," he said flatly. There was no warmth, no concern in his tone.
He turned to Kathryn and said, "Let’s continue where we left off."
And just like that, the door closed, leaving me behind—broken and hopeless.
I cried as I listened to them continue their sex, lying there and hearing every sound.
---
The next day, I woke up on the cold, hard ground. The door was slightly ajar, recalling what happened.
A sudden wave of panic washed over me as I remembered my pregnancy.
Slowly, I pushed myself to my feet, ignoring the dull ache in my body, and set out to find Kael.
I found him sitting at a table, casually reading something, as if nothing had happened. Summoning my courage, I approached him hesitantly.
“Kael,” I began softly, my voice trembling, “you know I’m pregnant. Can you please help me go for a check-up? I think—”
“Go on your own!” he snapped, his voice as cold and sharp as a blade.
The harshness in his tone cut through me like a dagger, leaving me speechless and rooted to the spot.
Before I could even respond, he shoved me forcefully, nearly knocking me off my feet.
At that moment, something inside me snapped.
I had endured enough. The pain, the betrayal, the humiliation—I couldn’t take it anymore.
That night, as darkness covered the village, I lay awake in our cold, empty home.
Kael was gone, as usual. I knew exactly where he was—in Kathryn’s territory.
I couldn’t keep living like this. I deserved better, and so did my unborn pup.
So, I made a decision. That night, I packed what little I could carry and slipped out into the cool night air.
My heart pounded as I navigated the village, careful not to draw attention.
Once I reached the edge of the woods, I didn’t look back.
The forest was eerily quiet, the only sounds coming from the rustling leaves and my hurried footsteps.
Shadows danced in the moonlight, and every crack of a twig sent shivers down my spine. I didn’t have a plan—I only knew I needed to get as far away as possible.
As I went deeper into the woods, a chilling growl echoed through the trees.
My breath hitched, and I froze, my eyes darting around in panic. Then, out of the shadows, a massive werewolf emerged.
Its eyes glowed menacingly, and its sharp teeth glistened in the moonlight.
It’s a rogue wolf…
“No… please…” I begged, backing away. But the creature didn’t stop. It lunged at me, its claws were extended.
I screamed, instinctively shielding my stomach.
The pain was immediate as its claws tore into my side, knocking me to the ground. Blood seeped into the dirt beneath me, and I struggled to stay conscious.
Just when I thought it was the end, a deafening roar cut through the night.
The rogue wolf stopped, its attention drawn to something behind me. Then, with incredible speed, the rogue wolf was thrown aside and died from the impact.
I wanted to see what was going to happen, but my vision blurred.
Before I give in to the darkness, I felt strong arms scoop me up.
My head swing against a broad chest.
Then, he spoke.
“You’re mine now.”
Chapter 4
Lilith’s POV
“Alpha, what are we going to do with her? Why did you bring her here? This could be a trap. We cannot trust her.”
I woke up to the sound of unfamiliar voices.
They were distant at first, but as I became more aware, they grew louder, filled with tension and suspicion.
I struggled to open my eyes. Everything was a blur, and my head felt heavy. Slowly, my vision adjusted, and I scanned my surroundings. My heart raced when I realized where I was. I was inside a pack house, but it wasn’t like any pack house I had ever seen.
The structure, the air, even the scent—it was new to me.
Looking around, I noticed the people surrounding me. None of them looked familiar.
Panic began to creep in.
“W-Where am I? W-who are you?” I asked shakily. My voice cracked, and pain shot through my body when I lowered my gaze.
That’s when I saw it—my legs were injured, covered in cuts and dried blood. My heart sank.
“My baby…” I gasped, clutching my stomach. “Is my baby okay? Please, someone help me. I’m pregnant! How did I even get here?”
“Shut up!” a harsh voice snapped, silencing me.
I looked ahead and saw a group of elders standing before me. Their faces were stern, their expressions unyielding.
“Who are you?” one of the elders asked, their tone authoritative.
I gulped.
“I-I’m Lilith...who are you? How did I got here?”
“We are the elders of the Silver Moon Vanguard. We should be asking you that question. How did you end up near our territory? Who attacked you? And why are you pregnant? Who’s the father of your child?” The questions came one after another, leaving me overwhelmed and unable to respond immediately.
Gathering my courage, I took a shaky breath. “I’m from the Blood Moon Howl Pack,” I began. My voice was trembling, but I pushed through. “I’m… I’m an Omega. But I am fated to the Alpha of my tribe.”
Gasps filled the room, and I felt the weight of their disbelief.
“How is that even possible?” one elder demanded. “An Omega like you—the lowest rank—mated to an Alpha? This must be a joke.”
“It’s true,” I pleaded. “I’m not lying. I was fated by the Moon Goddess herself to the Alpha. Please, believe me. Spare my life!”
The room erupted in murmurs, suspicion thick in the air.
“No,” another elder declared firmly. “We cannot trust you. You’re injured and weak, and you claim to be from the Blood Moon Howl Pack, our rival pack. Anyone from that pack who crosses into our territory is sentenced to death!”
“N-No, please,” I begged, tears streaming down my face. “I’m pregnant. Have mercy on me and my pup!”
“Kill her!”
“Throw her away!”
The crowd around us murmured in agreement with the elders, and I felt fear grip my heart. My hands trembled as I clutched my stomach protectively. Soldiers began to approach me, their weapons drawn and their faces cold.
I was frozen, paralyzed with fear.
Then, suddenly, a deep, commanding voice rang out, cutting through the tension like a blade.
“Silence!”
The room fell quiet instantly. All heads turned toward the source of the voice. The elders stepped aside, parting like the sea.
A tall, imposing figure emerged from behind them.
He was unlike anyone I had ever seen—towering, with a powerful build and a strikingly handsome face.
His presence alone demanded respect, and his piercing gaze locked onto mine as he walked toward me.
Stopping just a few feet away, he stood tall. Slowly, his gaze shifted to me, and for a moment, when our eyes met, I felt an intense electricity surging through my veins.
“Only I get to decide what happens to her.”
