Chapter 3
I watched his back as he left, smiled gently at the other end of the phone and my heart was broken.
The happiness I thought was just a scam he carefully designed.
After Wilmot left, I went to the hospital alone.
“You just found out that you are pregnant and you want to abort this child? What about your husband, does he know?”
Meeting the doctor’s concerned eyes, I pursed my lips.
“My husband and I don’t want this child.”
The doctor looked at me in confusion. “But you were very happy when you saw the pregnancy test report just now…”
She muttered a few times, but didn’t ask any more questions. She sighed and asked people to prepare for the operation.
I lay on the cold stretcher, my hands unconsciously touched my lower abdomen, felt the faint movement inside and tears couldn’t stop pouring out.
Even if this child came to the world, he would not be loved and expected.
Just as I was worrying, the stretcher passed through the corridor and the envious voices of the nurses reached my ears.
“This man really loves his wife. He accompanies his wife to the hospital every day to use the most expensive equipment for a full body check. It’s only been a month and he’s so nervous.”
I turned sideways and followed the nurses’ line of sight, but I saw a familiar back.
This custom suit was designed by me personally for Wilmot and there was no way I could make a mistake. And the person he was carefully supporting was Vania!
There was a naughty child running on the side and before he touched the corner of Vania’s clothes, he was blocked by him with a frown.
Just as Wilmot was about to turn around, I was pushed into the operating room and my palms were rubbed with blood by my nails on my clenched fists.
When I felt the warm life being stripped from my body and turned into a cold blood clot beside me, I couldn’t help crying out loud.
After calming down, I dragged my uncomfortable body out like a zombie, but was stopped by a pair of hands at the corner of the stairs.
“Hey, Rachel, what are you doing here alone?”
I raised my head and met Vania’s condescending eyes.
I turned around and wanted to leave, but she came forward and blocked me, sneering, “Are you here for another check-up and medicine? You haven’t gotten pregnant in three years. You are really useless. Wilmot made me pregnant in three months.”
She said, while shyly stroking her belly, with a sweet face.
“You, you will never get pregnant, Wilmot swore to me long ago that only I can get pregnant with his child. I casually said that I had no appetite during pregnancy and he went to the doctor to learn about special nutritional meals. You have been married for three years, has he ever cooked a meal for you personally?”
Seeing my pale face, Vania got interested and leaned close to my ear to continue to whisper provocatively.
“I just lied a little and said I was weak and Wilmot agreed to let you give birth to my child without hesitation. But I can’t bear to let my child come out of the belly of a rubbish like you. Rachel, you are just a pitiful thing. Your ex-fiancé left you to marry me and your current husband also begged me to give birth to his child. You’re really a complete failure.”
She raised her eyebrows more and more proudly. I wanted to walk away unbearably, but just as I moved, she suddenly screamed and fell to the side.
“Vania!” A panicked cry came from the other end of the corridor. Wilmot rushed over like a gust of wind, pushed me to the ground and hugged Vania in his arms. I had just had a miscarriage and my body was weak. There was a dense pain in my lower abdomen. I bit my lips tightly and couldn’t get up in pain. But Wilmot’s eyes were full of Vania and he didn’t even spare a glance for me.
Chapter 4
“Wilmot, I didn’t expect her to push me suddenly…”
Vania looked at me with tears in her eyes and a hurt face.
“Rachel, I know you still hate me because of what happened back then, but Theo and I are truly in love and you have married Wilmot and found your destiny now, so why are you still confronting me? Or, you haven’t been able to get pregnant for three years and you don’t like me being pregnant?”
Wilmot frowned, his eyes full of pity and he carefully checked Vania and was relieved when he didn’t see anything wrong and looked at me unhappily.
“Wife, didn’t we agree that what happened before was over? You are going to be a mother soon, how can you still be so inappropriate? I will apologize on your behalf and take Vania to check by the way.”
I covered my lower abdomen and watched him gently hold Vania and walk to the inspection room, without looking back once.
If he had just given me a look, he would have noticed that I was not in the right state, but his heart and eyes were full of Vania and he even forgot to pretend to care about me.
I looked at the blood flowing from my body with bitterness. Fortunately, the nurse found me in time and took me to the ward.
I didn’t go home that night and Wilmot didn’t go home either. He only sent a cold text message saying that the company had something to do tonight.
[There is a big project that requires me to personally contact the person in charge. I won’t go home these two days. Wife, take care of yourself at home and wait for me to come back and accompany you to do the transplant surgery. When you get pregnant, I will put down my work and concentrate on accompanying you.]
I didn’t reply, but just stared at the messages that Vania kept sending on WhatsApp.
[Wilmot was afraid that you would hurt me, so he specially arranged me to the VIP ward and watched over me day and night. He said that nothing could go wrong with this child.]
In the photo, Wilmot was doting on her hair and his other hand was on her lower abdomen, with a loving face.
When I mentioned the child to him before, he always looked cold.
The photos and videos she sent later were even more erotic.
The hair of the two people entangled together on the white hospital bed and the video also heard the faint panting of the two people when they were in love.
“Wilmot, be gentle. Don’t hurt the baby in my belly.”
“No, I’ll be careful.”
“Who makes you more comfortable, me or Rachel?”
“Of course, it’s you. She is conservative and boring in bed and I just flirt with her for you.”
I ignored her provocation and blocked her directly.
Before Wilmot came back, I cleaned up all my traces in the house. When he came home, he frowned suspiciously.
“Wife, I’m back. Didn’t you fall in love with a top-grade pink diamond before? I bought it specially and asked someone to polish it into a ring. You can see it after the operation... Why do I feel like there are a lot of things missing at home?”
I pursed my lips.
“They are all unimportant things, so I asked them to throw them away.”
He seemed to want to say something else, but Vania kept sending messages to urge him.
[Wilmot, did you bring Rachel here? The doctor has prepared everything.]
Wilmot came back to his senses and didn’t ask any more questions. He took my hand and walked out.
“Wife, Linden is ready for the operation and is urging us to go. After the operation, we will go to the maternity and baby store immediately. I have asked a designer to draw the drawings of the baby room overnight. Let’s pick some toys for the baby…”
He kept talking all the way and when he walked out of the operating room, he was still looking forward to the days after the child was born.
If I didn’t know the truth, I was afraid I would have been moved beyond words.
Lying on the bed in the operating room, I raised the corners of my lips maliciously, but it was a pity that everything he longed for would never come true.
Wilmot nervously paced back and forth outside the operating room and a happy smile unconsciously appeared on his face.
He unconsciously opened his phone and began to select the design drawings of the baby room, with the corners of his mouth rising more and more.
After the embryo transfer operation was completed, he would treat Rachel wholeheartedly. Rachel also had the child she had always wanted. In the days to come, their family of three would live happily.
But not long after, the heart rate monitor in the operating room suddenly made a sharp cry, which soon subsided. Linden, who was originally performing the operation, ran out in a panic with blood all over his hands.
“What’s going on?” he asked this sentence with forced calmness, but his tone was distorted.
Linden looked at him angrily. “Wilmot, why didn’t you tell me that Rachel had just had an abortion! Her current physical condition can’t do embryo transfer at all. The operation failed. She had a heavy hemorrhage and couldn’t be saved at all!”
