Chapter 3
It was obvious that my reaction was not what Stella expected. She wanted to force me to understand what was happening.
Kevin had already put on his clothes and stood beside me humbly, saying, "I knew Susy was the smartest and she wouldn't have such wild ideas."
Stella frowned. After all, the current situation was completely different from what she had imagined.
"Susy, did anyone say anything to you when you came here today?
"You have to believe me and Kevin. Although Kevin and I grew up together, nothing special happened between us. If we have feelings for each other, Kevin wouldn't have married you.
"Tommy just happens to look like Kevin, but he's actually my ex-boyfriend's."
I chuckled and said, "Stella, don't explain. I believe in you. After all, I'm so good to you, and you're not a heartless bitch. How could you steal my husband?"
Kevin was very displeased with what Stella said, and said coldly, "Stop it. Stella, Susy and I will go back first, you can find someone to fix the water pipe yourself."
Stella still wanted to make a final effort. She winked at Tommy. Tommy had been trained by Stella's parents in her hometown for a few years, so he immediately understood what Stella meant and ran over to hug Kevin's thighs, saying, "Dad, don't you want me anymore?"
I burst out laughing and looked at Stella and Kevin, saying, "Did Kevin become Tommy's godfather without telling me? I forgive you this time, but if you hide something from me next time, I will be angry.
"If I get angry, I might cause troubles and ruin your reputation, leaving you with nothing."
The two of them nodded with pale faces, not daring to say anything else.
Chapter 4
After this incident, they became cautious and didn't even dare to meet each other.
I also went to the hospital to check my breasts. The doctor told me that it was okay and there was no cancer at the moment, but I still needed a minimally invasive surgery.
Thanked to this small operation, I successfully slept in separate rooms from Kevin.
Kevin might be worried that I would make a big fuss and affect his company and stock price. During this period, he was even more attentive and nicer to me than when he was pursuing me.
Stella also came to my house, under the pretext of taking care of my diet and daily life. She said, "Susy, how come you didn't tell me that you had surgery? I saw on the Internet that in this case, surgery is not necessary."
I smiled slightly and said, "I was curious at first. The doctor said she had asked you to tell me the results of my last physical examination and that I needed surgery. But you told me that my results were normal. It turned out that you wanted me to heal on my own.
"If I didn't know you well, based on what happened recently, I might have thought you deliberately wanted me to become seriously ill so that you could be with Kevin!"
Stella looked embarrassed, but she just wanted me to leave on my initiative and never thought of causing trouble, so she said awkwardly that she had something to do at home and ran away in a hurry.
In the following time, I had been waiting for the day when Kevin would have a car accident. To be able to play the role of a woman who lost her beloved, I pondered in front of the mirror for a long time.
Finally, in the early morning of one day, I received a call from the police.
I had been worried that my rebirth would cause changes in Kevin's car accident, but it happened as expected.
Chapter 5
I arrived at the hospital with a pale face, looking extremely sad. I staggeringly held the housekeeper Mary's hand and said, "I received a call saying that Kevin had a car accident. Is he okay?"
The police took out an accident report and said, "Your lover was involved in a car accident. According to the surveillance footage, he bent down to pick up his phone, which caused him to lose control of the vehicle and crash into the mountain. The vehicle then exploded and he was severely burned."
Looking at Kevin, whose whole body was burned like a piece of charcoal, I picked up a tissue soaked with medicated oil and kept wiping my tears, crying until I almost fainted.
Mary sighed and said, "Mrs. Collins, don't be too sad. I know you and Mr. Collins have always had a good relationship. Mr. Collins certainly doesn't want to see you so sad. Besides, you have to make the decision on how to treat Mr. Collins."
Of course I was sad. In my previous life, Kevin fell into the river and was dead when he was fished out. How come he still had a breath left this time?
But it was useless even if he was alive.
The attending doctor came over with the test results and treatment suggestions, and explained the current situation to me professionally, "The patient is still alive, but treating burns is very painful. You should be prepared. Debridement treatment must be performed immediately, otherwise it will soon..."
I raised my head and interrupted the doctor, "No, I can't let Kevin suffer. Kevin loves dignity the most! I want to give up treatment and let him leave with dignity."
I endured the nausea, smelled the burnt meat, and looked at Kevin with deep affection. I said, "Living like this is also suffering. I know Kevin best. He would rather die than live like this."
So at my strong request, all treatments were suspended, and Kevin's heart stopped beating in less than ten minutes.
