1 - Rejecting Ashely

I hit the alarm on my phone, waking up early to ensure I arrive at her house before anyone else gets to see her, I've waited 5 years for this day, 5 years to reject my fated mate. I stand and head to the ensuite of my room and get into the shower, my mind drifts back to the night I first shifted. I ran with my parents that night and then broke off to go to our Gamma's house. I knew, as an Alpha, even if my mate was not of age, I could scent her and I wanted nothing more than to scent Melody. I asked her to be outside and wait for me, I wanted her to be one of the first to see my wolf. I ran at full speed, my wolf, Zion is large and pure grey, as I approached her backyard, I noticed she wasn't alone, her brother, Luke my future Gamma and their little annoying sister Ashely were also there. I steel myself, place a stoic mask on and walk with purpose towards the lake, I stand at the waters edge and call out to her, "Get out now!" 2 - My 18th Birthday

I wake up early, today I'm 18 and all alone in our home, my parents decided to take a holiday for a few days, so no party for me, unlike my older sister Melody, who's party was the party of all parties, I wasn't allowed to go, since Alpha Maddon decided that only 16 and older should be allowed at her party and since he's her boyfriend and our Alpha his word means more than I do. I spun to see Alpha Maddon standing at the waters edge, his face angry as usual and my mind whirled with what I could have done now to make him be here this early. I try to keep away from him, I was happy when my brother moved out to the pack house, he didn't come around as much. 3 - I'm a Lycan

My lycan scoffs, "yes we do, his scent of carmel and chocolate is here."

I look around the house, "I'm sorry, uhm, what should I call you?"

Her voice is sweet, "Grace, it's nice to finally be out."

"Well Grace, it's nice to have you with me, but our mate rejected us this morning, before you came out."

She cackles in my head, "our mate can't reject us without me being out or it doesn't stick, it causes the pain, but the bond needs to be there and it can't without me."

I walk into my ensuite and took a few items that I'll need and then head downstairs, "can you find other's like us, because I have no idea where to look."

Grace howls, "of course I can, I can sniff out anything or anyone, even if there on the other side of the world, I'll find them." I went to my father's office and went into all his books on his shelf, he thinks no one knows where he stashes his money, but I know. I took as much as I could find and walk out the back door and took off running towards the border. I approach the border and stop inhaling deeply, calming my nerves , "I Ashley Silver denounce the Blue Mountain pack and Alpha Maddox Falcone as my Alpha," I feel a slight pang of pain in my chest and walk across the border. I give Grace control and she take off running towards the unknown, the mixture of fear and apprehension somehow thrill me.

I wake in the morning next to a stream, the air a bit cooler than I was use to for summer. I walk over to the stream and drink water from my cupped hand, when I hear a twig snap behind me. I snap my head towards the sound, scanning the area, looking for the predator stalking me, only to smile when I see a rabbit. Grace pushes forward and pounces on it, eating it within minutes, then gives control back to me. I giggle, "you shift so fast and it doesn't even hurt."

She yawns, "I'm going to rest while you walk, just go north and stay out of sight, there are many different shifters out here, so be careful." I put my backpack on and begin walking north as she instructed.

After about 6 hours, I came upon a bear, I stop cold in my tracks, slamming my back against a tree, as I watch him lumber through the forest. I sniff the air to confirm if he is a shifter or not. He stops, his nose up in the air as his head moves in my direction. I suck in a breath and hold it, but he's already seen me, he stands up on his hind legs and growls, I can't help but laugh at him. He shifts and shakes his head, "you're in my territory why?" I smile at him as I raise my hands in surrender, "just passing threw to the north, not trying to anger you." He nods, "keep moving then, I have no need for your kind in my territory, leave it as you found it." I nod and yell out to him as he walks away, "thanks sir." He grunts as he shifts back to his bear and continued his walk. I continue north until I couldn't walk any longer, I sit up against a tree, leaning my head back. I feel my Lycan stir, "did you get enough rest?"

She yawns, "yup, I'm hungry and ready to get us out of here."

I smile, "it's all yours," I went back into my mind as she takes over, I wonder will my parents even notice I'm gone, will they even care, will anyone care?

4 - Mixed Feelings

I watch her walk up to the rest of the pups for their 1st shift, her long black curly hair flowing around her curvy body, her dark green eyes staring at us as she stands off to the side of the rest of the group. She turns her head from us and looks out into the forest. I pull in front of Melody's apartment building and she looks at me, "I thought we were going out?"

I mind link Gamma Luke, "have they shifted?" He responds, "yes, well all but my sister of course, her fat ass take forever to do anything, so we left her, I'll go back once the runs over and check her then."

I chuckle through the link, "that sounds like her." I cut the link and shout in my car, "what the fuck, you don't leave a pup alone to shift I don't give a fuck who it is." I pull into the field and get out, running towards where she should be and she's nowhere to be seen, I look for her shredded shirt, but nothing.

I pick up her scent and follow it, my wolf Zion howls in my head, "hurry we need our mate."

I scoff at him, "she's not our mate, I rejected her remember."

He laughs, "you are stupid, you can't reject her without her wolf being present, what you did was cause her more unnecessary pain, but our bond is still there, that's why your chasing after her."

I freeze in place, "is that why she's affecting me this way, the bond?"

I walk inside and my heart sank, as I looked at the empty hangers in her closet, her backpack was gone, I turn and the picture was staring at me, her sad dark green eyes looking at me, I snatch it and put it in my back pocket. I run down the stairs and out the back door, following her scent. Running deep into the forest I feel a pack bond snap and my wolf howls in my head, "it's her, she's denounced you and the pack." I fall to my knees, my head lifts to the sky and a anguished howl leaves my lungs, my heart clenched in my chest and tears fill my eyes. I get up and walk slowly back to my car talking to myself, "I did this, I got exactly what I wanted, she's gone, I have Melody and I'll just live with what I've done. I can do this, I'll move on without my fated mate and make the life that I have dreamed of for as long as I can remember." I get in my car and drive home, when I get into my room, I threw my jeans into the hamper as I took a shower, I walked out and crawled into bed.

5 - Finding the others

It's been a week now and I'm standing in knee deep snow when just a week ago I was swimmimg in a river to cool off. I walk out of the trees and see two men in the distance, I freeze and move back to the trees and put my back to one. I steady my breathing to think, my heart is pounding in my chest, when suddenly two men are standing in front of me, both glaring at me. One speaks, "what are you doing here?"

I arch my brow at him, "walking, what does it look like?"

He smirks at me, then looks at the other guy, they both inhale deeply and smile as his eyes glaze over and I know he is mind linking someone. Grace stirs in my head, "hmm, they look yummy," she purrs.

I giggle at her, "there not food."

She laughs, "I wasn't thinking of food, we do have other needs for good men you know."

The man interrupts my conversation, "you're a lycan, you need to come with us."

I cross my arms over my chest, "and who are you?"

He smiles at me, my name is Travis and this," he points over his shoulder with his thumb, "is Chuck our Alpha is waiting for us, so we need to move." They walk out of the tree line and turn looking at me, he motions with his hand, "come on, you'll freeze out here."

I look around the frozen landscape and walk up between the two, "so you're lycan's?"

His smile is welcoming, "yes, just like you."

I struggle to keep up with the two huge men, their strides are twice on of mine, "are there many of us here?"

Travis chuckles, "yes, there are many of us, too many sometimes." My eyes widen at him as we turn to the left and I stop in my tracks as a ice castle comes into view.

Chuck laughs, "yea, everyone gawks at it the first time they see it, don't worry, it's actually warm in there."

I give him a tight smile, "Grace, is this safe, I mean we could be walking into something we can't get out of."

She scoffs, "you wanted to be with those like us, they won't hurt us, trust me, they are thrilled already that we are here, you'll see."

I follow them into a cave that has torches on the walls lighting the way and we walk into the foyer, my eyes widen as I take it in. The walls of ice are so thick they're blue in color, a large staircase in front of me and a chandilier hangs from the ceiling with candles lit, I stare at it for sometime I can't help but wonder how it doesn't melt. I hear someone clear their throat and my eyes leave the ceiling and fall on a Greek God, with dark blue eyes, black hair and wearing the most perfect smile. I stare at him taking in his rugged facial features, high cheek bones, sharp jaw line with black stubble tracing to a goatee. My eyes wonder lower, a tight white shirt stretching across his broad shoulders and chest, top two button open, whisps of black chest hair peeking out, black slacks hug his thick tree trunk thighs. HIs baritone voice breaks my stare, "my face is up here." My head snaps back to his face, my cheeks heated as I stare in to his eyes, he has a scar going through his left eye brow and it only enhances his looks, he extends his hand to me, "Alpha King Liam."

I put my hand in his and my eyes widen as his title sinks into my brain, my voice comes out a bit husky, "Ashley Silver," I bow my head to him.

His smile widens as dimples appear in his cheeks, "my pleasure Lady Ashley, I'm sure your hungry, there isn't much out there to hunt," he winks at me and motions with his hand to walk as he takes a step. I walk next to him as we walk through an archway into a huge dinning hall, filled with people. I follow him to a seat as I look around, this room has actual wood flooring covering the ice, it's warmer than the foyer, he pulls a seat out and I take it, he sits next to me. "We don't get many visitors up here Lady Ashley, what brings you here?"

I turn and look at him, his voice is kind and full of curiosity, "I just shifted for the first time last week, I was in a werewolf pack," I shrug, "I had no reason to stay, since I'm a lycan and thought I should be with my own kind." He smiles at the server as he places food in front of us, I smile kindly at him, "thank you," the server looks at me and smiles as he turns to serve others.

Alpha King Liam looks at me, "eat up." I waste no time in devouring the food set in front of me, I hear him chuckle and I look threw my lashes at him, he points to my plate, "I was right," he smiles, "you were hungry."

I look down and my plate is empty as I pop the last of the meat into my mouth and nod. I sit back and really take in the room, I suddenly realize that there aren't many woman here besides myself, "uhm, were are all the women?"

His eyes widen at my confession, "Lady Ashley, I can't imagine any werewolf or Lycan that would not appreciate their fated mate."

I snort, "well you haven't met them all now have you?"

He archs a brow at me, "I apologize for my rudness, the pain is still fresh in your heart," he looks me up and down and shakes his head.

I whisper, "it's fine, I didn't expect him to be my fated mate, he never liked me, I wasn't good enough, thin enough, pretty enough, strong enough," I shrug, "I wasn't enough for him, he's is in love with my older sister anyway, she's more to his liking." I look away from him and blink back the tears that are threatening to spill from my eyes.

His voice is low barely above a whisper, "he's stupid, if he didn't see your beauty, your worth."

His jaw tightens and he speaks through gritted teeth, "do not say such things about yourself, I don't know who these people are that have made you think this, but I assure you, you are extremely beautiful, there is not one unmated male lycan here that would not be honored to have you as their mate." He clears his throat, "what pack did you come from?"

I'm staring at him in disbelief and shake my head, "Blue Mountain pack, I denounced it and the Alpha before I walked across the border."

He sat quitely for a moment thinking, then looks at me, "Alpha Maddon Falcone correct?"
