I was caught cheating with my wife's best friend.

She angrily demanded a divorce and insisted I leave with nothing.

I was jolted awake by a sudden slap, startled enough to sit up straight in bed.

In front of me was my wife's furious face.

I looked confused. "Babe, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong?"

She glared at me, teeth clenched. "You're lying in bed with her, and you have the nerve to ask what's wrong?"

I was completely lost until I saw the naked woman lying next to me.

My eyes widened in shock.

I shook my head hard, trying to remember what happened last night, but my mind was a blur.

But I knew this woman all too well. She was my wife's best friend, Chloe Tucker.

How could I possibly be lying in bed with her?

I asked, still confused, "What are you doing here?"

Chloe's tears fell without warning. "Xavier, we drank too much last night. I have no idea what happened."

She turned to Ariella, pleading, "Ariella, you have to believe me. We were both drunk and just woke up here. I honestly don't know what happened."

My wife, still furious, became even angrier when she heard that. "Enough!"

"I treated you like my best friend, and this is how you repay me? How could you do this with my husband?"

Chloe kept her head down, crying, repeatedly saying, "It's not like that."

But she couldn't explain it any further.

As I calmed down, I started to sense that something was off.

I knew for a fact that when I'm drunk, I can't do anything, especially not to Chloe.

I moved closer and grabbed my wife's hand, desperately. "You know me, babe. When I'm drunk, I'm completely useless. Nothing could've happened between us. You have to believe me."

Ariella let out a cold laugh. "You two are lying naked in bed, and you expect me to believe nothing happened? How can I trust you?"

I was speechless.

I knew no one would believe me in this situation, and I was on the verge of tears. "Babe, I don't know what happened, but please believe me. We're innocent."

For a brief moment, I saw my wife's expression soften.

But in the next second, Chloe's blanket slipped, exposing the marks on her body for all to see.

Anyone could tell what had happened.

My breathing suddenly grew heavy.

Ariella's eyes filled with rage as she pointed at me. "Xavier, is this your idea of 'nothing happened'? You liar! I'm divorcing you!"
