Chapter 2
Gabby
The next morning, I heard familiar laughter coming from the kitchen. The sound of Alice and Alan cooking and laughing together made my skin crawl. Even after I stood silently in the doorway for several minutes, they didn’t notice me.
Their behavior was so natural—like a couple who’d done this a hundred times before. I felt sick watching Alan feed Alice a piece of raw, still-bloody meat, like two teenagers madly in love. I sighed, memories of last night crashing back—the sharp contrast between then and now twisted in my chest.
Alice turned around, casually setting down the meat in her hand. Blood dripped from her long fingernails, but I kept my expression blank, refusing to let her get under my skin.
“Oh, Luna Gabby,” Alice said sweetly. “I made breakfast for Alpha Alan. You should try it too.”
She glanced at Alan with a coy smile. “When I stopped by to drop off those important documents, he mentioned he was starving. I just wanted to help out with your responsibilities. You don’t mind, do you?”
Beta Alice looked back at me with a faint, knowing smirk. “I also made him a fresh vegetable salad. He absolutely loves my salads,” she added, as if marking her territory.
Her behavior made me nauseous. She acted like she owned the place—like I was the guest and she was the hostess, graciously welcoming me in.
“It’s fine. I’m skipping breakfast. I’d probably throw up.” I couldn’t help the bite in my tone.
“Oh, come on. There’s wolfmary soup too. Alpha Alan loves it. You should add it to your regular meals. I’ll give you the recipe—I'm sure he’ll fall in love with your cooking,” she said with a sugary smile.
It sounded harmless, but her words lit a fire inside me.
Alpha Alan walked over and wrapped an arm around my waist, playing the part of the perfect partner. I wanted to scream.
“You should really try your sister’s salad sometime,” he said casually. “It’s delicious.”
I pulled away from him as smoothly as I could and offered a cold, sarcastic smile. Without touching a single dish Alice had prepared, I walked to the fridge, grabbed a carton of cold milk, and drank it straight from the bottle.
“I’m done.” I tossed the empty carton into the trash, then turned to Alan.
“Can you take me to get my visa renewed, Alpha Alan?”
He raised an eyebrow, eyeing me with that same warm gaze—the one that used to melt my heart. Who would've guessed a man with eyes that gentle was faking every ounce of love he ever claimed to feel for me?
“Of course,” he replied.
“And after that…” I let the sentence trail as I stepped closer to him, even though the very act made my skin crawl. “Can you accompany me to see Elder Roland?”
His brow lifted again, but before he could ask anything, I explained further.
“I have a small matter to discuss with him, sweetheart. And I’m sure if you take me, Elder Roland will prioritize the meeting. Only you can make that happen for me.” I forced a sweet tone into my voice, burying the nausea rising in my throat.
I smiled—barely. My plan was already clear. I was going to expose everything—every betrayal by Alpha Alan and Beta Alice—to Elder Roland.
But before I could say another word, a loud scream rang out, cutting through the room like a knife. Alan and I turned at once, startled.
Alpha Alan ran into the guest room and reappeared seconds later, carrying Beta Alice in his arms. Her face twisted in pain—but just before he turned, I saw it.
She smirked at me.
“Beta Alice was injured by a silver utensil,” Alan said. “I need to take her to the Pack Hospital. Sorry, Luna—you’ll have to go alone.”
And with that, he grabbed his keys and left without another word. He didn’t ask for my input. Didn’t even look back.
I watched him walk away, knowing now with certainty: I was never his priority. I never mattered—not like she did.
I’d known deep down. I was never the one he chose. I was always the one left behind.
I remembered how he used to shower me with gifts and let me spend freely on his black card. I told him I didn’t want luxury, but he’d always insisted he loved doing those things for me. Five years of loyalty and love, repaid with betrayal.
My heart felt shattered. There was no coming back from this. The pain was real, raw, and final. Love? I didn’t believe in it anymore.
I didn’t care what came next. I went straight to Rudolf—one of the few humans I could rely on to help with personal documents. We sat down together, the paperwork already spread across the table.
“Can you process these quickly, Rudolf?” I asked.
“Of course, ma’am. Everything will be ready within twenty-four hours.”
“Thank you, Rudolf. I always knew I could count on you.”
He’d helped me with so many bureaucratic tasks—always professional, always discreet.
I glanced at something in his left hand, curiosity sparking.
“What’s that document you’re holding, Rudolf?”
He smiled faintly. “It’s a request to change someone’s identity.”
“Can you do it for me?” I asked without hesitation. He nodded.
“Do whatever it takes,” I told him, voice firm. “I don’t care about the cost. Just get it done—fast.”
Chapter 3
Gabby
After taking care of my visa and changing my identity, I purposely stayed away from Alpha Alan’s pack for a few days. I needed peace—something to keep me busy, so my life wouldn’t be consumed by the growing hatred inside me. Eventually, though, I decided to return, just to pack up the rest of my things before I left for good.
My steps halted automatically when I overheard faint voices coming from one of the rooms. They were talking about me—and not kindly.
“Apparently, Luna Gabriella forgot that Alpha Alan’s mate-bond with her was purely formal. Isn’t that embarrassing?” one voice sneered, followed by an insincere laugh. Another chimed in, “Instead of being embarrassed, I just feel sorry for her. She’s clearly obsessed with becoming the perfect Luna for Alpha Alan.”
My fists clenched tightly, and just before I could walk in, another voice struck a deeper nerve.
“If only Alpha Carlos were still here, he would have ripped out Alpha Alan’s heart for hurting his beloved cousin.”
“But we all know Alpha Carlos is gone. That means Luna Gabriella is completely finished now.”
Their words weren’t wrong. Alpha Carlos had been the only one who truly protected me before he suddenly disappeared.
“Why should we pity Luna Gabriella anyway? She’s a barren Luna—she can’t even give Alpha Alan an heir. Honestly, I think she deserves this.”
I shoved the door to the private lounge open wide. The room instantly fell silent. A few omegas stood frozen, and Beta Alice gave me a smug, satisfied smile—as if she’d been expecting me to hear every word. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Alpha Alan quickly drop the arm that had just been wrapped around Alice’s shoulders and hurried to approach me.
“Luna Gabby, you’re back?” Beta Alice greeted sweetly. “You’ve been so busy these past few days.”
I held my breath and forced a smile. “Yes, I’ve had social commitments that kept me occupied.” My voice was even, calm—every ounce of emotion buried deep. I wouldn’t give her the satisfaction of seeing me break. “Anyway, I’ll excuse myself.”
I turned and walked to my room, but Alpha Alan followed close behind.
“Wait, Luna Gabby,” he called. I stopped, and he reached for my waist. “You haven’t come home on time in days. Are you really busy—or just avoiding me?”
“I’ve been busy,” I replied curtly. “And haven’t you? Managing the pack and… Beta Alice?”
“Come on, Alice has been unwell. If I don’t take care of her, who will? Besides, you’ve been gone too.”
I let out a bitter smile. “Exactly. I’ve had my own responsibilities—community work and visa matters,” I said, laced with sarcasm.
“You’re still mad because I didn’t go with you for the visa paperwork?” he guessed.
“Of course not, Alpha Alan. It’s about priorities, isn’t it? Yours are the pack and Beta Alice. Mine are my visa and social causes.”
“You’re shutting me out, Luna Gabby. Don’t you see how exhausted I’ve been?” he snapped, anger creeping into his voice. “I need you here. I need to come home to your smile, your arms, my dinner, my clothes, everything ready. But all you ever do is focus on your own things.”
And now I understood. In Alpha Alan’s eyes, I wasn’t a Luna—I was just an omega dressed in Luna’s skin. Not a partner. Not an equal. Just a servant in silk.
“Fine. Let’s not argue about this anymore. Come with me tomorrow to the Alpha Council’s charity event. Beta Alice will be there too.”
“How noble. Isn’t she still injured from that deadly weapon?” I replied coldly.
“She’s my personal assistant. This is important for me too.”
I took a deep breath and gave him a long, icy stare. “Then go with Beta Alice. I have other things to attend to that I can’t postpone.”
I stepped into my room, slammed the door, and locked it behind me. My emotions were burning hot, and my resolve grew stronger than ever—I had to find Alpha Carlos.
The next day, to my dismay, I discovered that the charity event I had scheduled was now merged with the Alpha Council gathering. Which meant I had no choice but to face Alpha Alan and Beta Alice.
There I stood, like some fool of a Luna, as Alpha Alan continued to cling to Beta Alice with sickening affection in full view of everyone.
“Incredible, isn’t she?” someone whispered behind me. “Luna Gabriella really is something—watching her Alpha flirt so openly with another woman, and she just takes it.”
A sudden ringtone snapped me out of my thoughts. It was a call from Rudolf. A flicker of hope stirred within me.
“Yes, Rudolf? What is it?”
“I have good news. All the documents you submitted are ready. You can come and collect them.”
Chapter 4
"Oh, Luna Gabriella. I'm so glad you made it to the event," Beta Alice greeted me with that overly sweet smile she always wore. "What a perfect coincidence."
I caught the bite in her words, but I chose not to react. She was baiting me—and I refused to take it. I was just about to walk away when she grabbed my wrist.
"Luna Gabriella, won’t you stand beside Alpha Alan for his speech?" she asked again, this time louder, drawing more eyes toward us.
"What do you think you’re doing? Let go of me, Alice!"
I yanked my hand free with force. My elbow bumped into a tray carried by an omega, sending glassware crashing to the ground. Red wine splashed across the floor, and guests stepped back to avoid the mess.
And then, Beta Alice’s little performance began. She staggered toward me dramatically and let out a soft growl. Her hands clutched at her wine-stained gown.
“No! My dress... my palm...” she whimpered, eyes glistening as she looked at me like I was the villain and she, the delicate victim.
Pathetic.
I clenched my fists, swallowing my fury. I wouldn’t let her humiliate me again.
“I know you’re angry with me for accompanying Alpha Alan tonight,” she said, her voice trembling with artificial guilt. “I know I may have overstepped, but this? You’re being cruel. You hurt me!”
My blood boiled at her theatrics. I took a step forward, ready to slap her smug face. But Alpha Alan intervened—of course he did. He stepped between us, his face twisted with fury.
“What the hell is this, Luna Gabby? You’re acting like a tyrant. Is this how a Luna should behave? You’ve embarrassed yourself!”
I froze.
Again, Alpha Alan defended her. Again, he raised his voice at me in front of everyone—as if I was nothing.
As if I wasn’t his mate.
As if I had never mattered at all.
My phone buzzed. A call from Rudolf. Hands trembling, I answered.
“Yes, Rudolf. I’ll meet you shortly to pick up the documents.”
I ended the call and turned back to face Alpha Alan, my disappointment now a firestorm in my chest.
“I embarrassed you?” I laughed—hard. Then I crossed my arms and stared him down. “And what about you? Parading around with Beta Alice like you’re a mated pair. You don’t think that’s humiliating?”
“She’s just my personal assistant,” he snapped.
“Then tell me the truth, Alpha Alan,” I stepped closer, raising my chin to meet his eyes, “about everything you and your precious Beta have been hiding from me.”
“Don’t test me, Luna...”
“All the secrets. Every dirty little thing you’ve kept from me.”
His Alpha aura lashed out like a whip. “I don’t owe you an explanation. Return to your quarters, Luna Gabby.”
That look in his eyes—cold and final—was all the confirmation I needed.
I turned and walked away from that wretched celebration.
*****
Back home, I opened my laptop and pulled up the security footage—the one I hadn’t dared to watch before. I scrubbed through each second, each frame. And there it was.
Their betrayal.
Their hands. Their lips. Their bodies. Every corner of my home had become their playground.
Alpha Alan—the man chosen by the Moon Goddess as my fated mate. The man who was supposed to be my other half.
Had betrayed me.
With my own sister.
The soul bond that tied us now felt like a noose pulling me into the abyss.
And then her voice echoed in my mind:
"I bet that barren little thing can’t even satisfy you at night, can she?"
Alice’s sickly-sweet tone, followed by Alpha Alan’s eager reply, crushed me.
Tears streamed down my face. I had been such a fool.
Their betrayal didn’t just break my heart—it shattered my spirit, my mental strength, even my physical being. My wolf clawed inside me, wild with rage and grief, howling to be let out, to tear them apart.
But I forced her down.
“Not yet,” I whispered to her. “Not until I have everything I need.”
I needed more than rage. I needed undeniable proof—not just for myself, but for the pack. For the Elders. They had to see who Alpha Alan truly was beneath his polished lies.
The footage became too much. I slammed the laptop shut. Then I hurled it across the room. My chest ached.
“It’s over,” I whispered.
And I meant it.
The next morning, I walked into Alpha Alan’s study. His scent still lingered in the room, masculine and commanding. But underneath it, hers clung—Beta Alice. A mockery of the life I had fought for.
I smiled bitterly at the irony.
I placed a small box on his desk—filled with the remnants of a love he’d destroyed. Pieces of our bond that could never be mended, no matter how many times someone tried.
“To the couple who were never meant for me,” I murmured. “Congratulations. You’ve won. You’ve broken me.”
Then I found an old photo album—full of memories that now felt like someone else’s life. I tucked it under my arm. Alpha Alan didn’t deserve to keep any part of what we used to be.
That’s when I heard the door open.
“Luna Gabby, what are you doing in here?” his voice cut through the silence.
I didn’t turn to look at him. “Just tidying up your office,” I said coolly.
His footsteps crept closer. The tension hung heavy in the air.
“What’s this?” he asked, eyes narrowing as he spotted the brown folder in my hand.
Evidence.
Everything.
I turned and met his gaze head-on. I wouldn’t flinch. Not this time.
“Just garbage,” I lied. “I was on my way to toss it out.”
And I left.
*****
I drove straight to Elder Roland’s estate. Now I stood in the grand hall, breathing hard, every step weighed down with pain, anger, betrayal—and purpose.
Elder Roland approached with his usual imposing grace.
“Luna Gabriella,” he said, clearly surprised. “What an unexpected visit. How may I help you?”
I walked toward him, held out the brown folder, and said with unwavering resolve—
“I want to sever my bond with Alpha Alan, Elder Roland.”
