Chapter 1

"As long as you agree to divorce Zayn, I will give you a personal subsidy of twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars."

After enjoying my meal, I was washing the dishes when I suddenly heard my mother-in-law, Gretta Sherman, offered and my heart suddenly throbbed.

I turned my gaze towards my husband, Zayn O'Connor, who was sitting in the living room. He was immersed in playing games as if what his mother said just now had nothing to do with him.

"Deal! I accept your offer to divorce him."

Seeing that I finally gave in and accepted the offer, Zayn raised his head and looked at me in surprise.

"It's better to do it today than to wait for another day," he said excitedly as if he could not wait any longer

My mother-in-law seemed a bit skeptical. "Do you really agree?"

"Yes." I calmly put the dishes back on the table and took off my bib. "But I have two conditions."

"What conditions? As long as you agree to divorce, I will agree to any condition you give me," he said with a bright smile.

It was the first time I had seen him smile in the half year after I agreed to divorce.

"Firstly, I don't want the family property, car and savings, but O'Connor Family should give me an additional subsidy of one hundred forty thousand dollars as well as the personal subsidy of twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars your mom just mentioned." Although Zayn did not agree immediately, he did not object, because I knew that the O'Connor Family was more than capable of paying one hundred forty thousand dollars.

"Secondly, I want 30% of the company's equity ...."

"No way!"

Before I could finish speaking, Gretta could not sit still anymore. "This is the company left by Zayn's father and it has nothing to do with you. Why do you want 30% equity? Are you shameless?"

"If it doesn't work, then forget it. Let's just keep dragging it out until Felicya's child becomes an illegitimate child."

Zayn was so angry that his face dark and said, "You're so cruel! What's the benefit for you my child has become an illegitimate child?"

My mother-in-law slapped me in the face and cursed, "You've really shown your true colors. From the beginning, you've always been interested in my family's money. You're such a poor and miserable family, there's no one to support you!"

She wanted to slap me again, so I slapped her back.

"How dare you hit me?!" She was shocked. Seeing that, Zayn wanted to hit me, but he did not dare.

Cih! What a cowardly man!

"I don't care if you insult me, but I won't let you insult my family!" I emphasized these words firmly. "I have evidence that your son cheated on me. He is the one at fault. If we go to court, both of the house and the car will be awarded to me. The market value of this house is at least one million one hundred twenty thousand dollars. It will be bad for you if you provoke me."

After a moment of silence, Zayn said, "Alright, how about this, I'll give you another twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars, a total of one hundred ninety-five thousand dollars, but I can't give you the company equity. I beg you."

He stood between his mother and me, showing a pleading expression.

I pretended to think for two minutes before saying, "Okay. Let's go to the court now."

"Sign the agreement first and I'll go after I get the money," I said.

Zayn was worried that I would ask him for money in the future, so he added a clause at the end of the agreement. [From the date of signing of this agreement, Party A and Party B will no longer have any property disputes and may no longer request the division of any property.]

I smiled. This was exactly what I wanted. It prevented him from trying to take my money in the future.

Before signing, one hundred ninety-five thousand dollars would be credited in three installments immediately.

After getting the stamp from the court, I strode forward without any hesitation and did not return to that "house".

Carrying a small bag that I carried with me, I went to the high-end property I had long had my eye on and bought two houses.

One for self-occupancy and one for rent. The one for self-occupancy was over 200 square meters with four bedrooms and two living rooms on a fully furnished large flat level. The one for rent was 80 square meters, with two bedrooms and one living room.

I only paid the deposit, after all, I had not received the money for winning the lottery yet.

Chapter 2

On a certain level, I wanted to thank Felicya even though she is the third person who intervened between me and Zayn. But if it were not for her, I would not have bought a lottery ticket.

I would not have been favored by fate. I won a jackpot of nearly fourteen million dollars when I was going through a divorce and I would still have eleven million dollars in my hand after paying taxes.

That day, I was seeing a doctor because I had not been pregnant for eight years after marriage, so I had to go to the hospital alone to see a doctor and get medicine.

When I was taking the subway home with a bag of medicine, I received a WhatsApp message from Felicya, a B-ultrasound image. [It's Zayn's child.]

The world collapsed in that moment and I could not help crying in the subway. The passengers around me did not know what had happened and they all cast strange looks at me.

After getting out of the subway, I threw the bag of medicine into the trash can in a daze. Suddenly, it started to rain heavily and I hid in front of a welfare lottery store to avoid the rain.

The store owner was a good man. Seeing that I was in a daze and soaked by the rain, he asked me to come into the store to keep warm.

When the rain stopped, I bought a lottery ticket worth four dollars to express my gratitude.

"Is it random?" the owner asked.

"Yes."

After all the arguments and arguments with Felicya and Zayn, I no longer recounted them. When the arguments left me in despair, I accidentally pulled out these three lottery tickets. After checking it out, I actually won fifteen first prizes, close to fourteen million dollars!

Fourteen million dollars had completely healed my sadness.

From that day on, I began planning how to achieve a perfect divorce without Zayn's knowledge.

I also did not hate Felicya at all anymore.

It was marvelous to have money.

In addition to spending two million seven hundred fifty thousand dollars on the house, I purchased four storefronts for investment. I used the remaining money to buy stocks, funds, bonds and bank deposits, which is enough for me to spend in three lifetimes. In total, there were still several hundreds of thousands left in my hand.

I went shopping in the mall and bought all those expensive bags, clothes and jewelry that I usually would not dare to look at. Moreover, I set up a room specifically for it as my dressing room.

When the manager of the store saw that I spent nearly one hundred forty thousand dollars at one time, he immediately treated me as a VIP costumer. Not only did he provide pick-up and drop-off services, he also prepared a special lounge for me, with professional staff serving me alone throughout the entire process.

I did not tell anyone about winning the lottery, including my father and brother.

After two months of having fun, I decided to start working again.

I graduated from Hampshire University with a major in education. After marrying Zayn, I resigned from school and became a full-time housewife.

After marriage, I was always criticized and despised by my mother-in-law for not having children. That was why I had been taking medicine and seeing a doctor over the years.

At that time, I still had love for Zayn.

Now, there was no pressure to have children and I felt free and happy.

In just two days, I got a job as a clerk in a media company. There was no performance appraisal, no business pressure and almost no overtime on weekends and holidays.

Perhaps because I was not too picky and often treated them to meals and coffee, so my colleagues liked me a lot.

In less than a month, I became part of their group where I often spent break time and lunch with them.

Amy was the secretary of the chairman of the media company. She was beautiful and had a good figure. Every time she had lunch, she always shared a large portion with me. She only ate a small portion. Later, we decided to share a meal together. Sometimes she treated me, sometimes I treated her.

One weekend, Amy fell ill and asked me to help find Allen Lincoln to sign an urgent document.

"You can go directly to his house and I'll give you the password to open the door. Mr. Lincoln often wears headphones and can't hear the doorbell. Thank you, Brie. I'll treat you tomorrow's dinner."

"It's okay, I'm free anyway. Take good care of yourself."

Chapter 3

After printing the documents, I went out wearing a casual sportswear. I took the subway to the boss' villa, rang the doorbell twice but no one answered, so I pressed the password to open the door and went in.

In the bathroom, Allen was leaning in the bathtub with his shoulders bare, wearing headphones and closing his eyes to rest.

I quickly left the bathroom and called him out "Mr. Lincoln" twice at the door.

"Come in." A deep voice rang out from the bathroom.

I bravely walked in.

"Amy is sick today, so she asked me to come here and get your signature," I said as I handed the document over.

After giving his signature, I took the document, excused myself and was about to leave.

However, he suddenly asked, "Do you have anything to do this afternoon?"

"The documents need to be sent back to the company. The project department is waiting for them," I replied.

"You ask the project department to send someone to a resort to get the documents and you come with me there to attend a dinner party."

I was stunned ... "I'm afraid it's not appropriate."

Allen glanced at me and responded, "Wearing this outfit is indeed not appropriate."

"I'll count it as overtime."

Well, since I had never attended any high society dinners, I would just treat it as a way to broaden my horizons.

When we arrived at the resort, a special receptionist came to greet us.

Seeing me feeling a bit nervous, Allen patted me on the shoulder and said, "It's just an ordinary dinner event, don't feel burdened."

"Yes," I responded softly. He was a gentle and elegant man. For some reason he made me blush.

The female receptionist was a bit surprised when she saw me dressed in sportswear, but she did not show it and led me to the place where the female guest stayed to rest, while Allen followed another receptionist to another place.

The VIP room was playing light and soothing music and I was feeling a bit lost. Just as I was about to sit down and play with my mobile phone, someone took the initiative to come over and talk to me.

"What are you doing here?"

I looked up and saw Felicya, who was four months pregnant, standing in front of me with heavy makeup and a proud look on her face.

Now she was the legitimate wife of Zayn. Since my divorce, I had never seen Felicya, Zayn, or anyone from the O'Connor Family again.

I had no resentment towards them anymore, but if they dared to provoke me, I was not afraid. "I'll come wherever I want."

"You're not here to work as a waiter, are you?" She sneered and took out a stack of bills from her bag. "I'll give you these as tips. Now get out of here immediately and don't let Zayn and I see you again."

It was really hilarious.

"Felicya, I am indeed working overtime. If you don't want to see me, just take Zayn and get out of here by yourself."

I had no reason to be polite to a mistress.

"You!" She was furious. "You just wait and see."

"I'll wait and see."

A few minutes later, Zayn rushed in, lowered his voice and warned me as he gritted his teeth. "It's best not to let anyone know about our relationship!"

"Brigitta is working here to earn money. She has to make a living on her own now and she didn't mean to come here to cause trouble."

"How disgusting." I sneered.

The soothing instrumental music paired with Felicya's acting skills was like an idol drama.

Zayn glared at me fiercely and said, "Speak politely, bitch!"

Just as I was about to give him a slap, someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder. It was Allen.

"Is he your friend?" Allen's voice was flat, but it had a mysterious sense of dignity.

"Oh ...." I stuttered, not knowing how to answer.

"I'm Allen Lincoln, hello."

Allen reached out his hand. Zayn's face was full of surprise and he quickly reached out to shake his hand.

"I am Zayn O'Connor, hello, Mr. Lincoln."

Of course, he knew the gold owner Allen Lincoln, but he did not have a chance to establish a relationship with him.

"She forgot to wear a dress today, so I took her to change into a dress. Feel free."

As he said that, Allen ignored their gazes and pulled me out.

I did not expect that he really got me a dress.

Then, a special makeup artist came to do my makeup and hair. Because of the limited time, I only put on light makeup.

Surprisingly, my image was completely changed.

"Let's go." He stretched out his left hand, motioning me to hold his arm.

The doors to the dinner party hall opened. Inside, the lights were sparkling and the various dishes and drinks looked delicious and luxurious and everyone's eyes were attracted one after another.

I saw that Zayn’s and Felicya's eyes were full of confusion, resentment and anger.

It was already late at night when we came out of the resort.

Allen had drunk some wine and felt a little tipsy. I felt a bit uneasy and called for a driver to take him home.

After I took off my dress and changed back into my own sportswear, I planned to leave.

Unexpectedly, the man said, "Can you cook some noodles for me? I didn't eat enough just now."

His request was not too much, so I stayed.

"Is that your ex-husband?"

"How do you know that?"

"Your profile says you are divorced."

Facing a handsome, elegant man and he also paid more attention to me ....

It would be a lie to say I was not impressed. I even had some expectations.

His eyes were alluring and I blushed and turned around to wash the vegetables.

Allen suddenly stood behind me, his masculine aura and scent enveloping me and my heart was pounding.

"It will get wet."

"Uh?"

My body trembled inexplicably.

He helped me roll up my sleeves, leaned over to my ear and spoke ambiguously.

"I think you are thinking about something strange."

"Can't you think about it?"

I did not want to be outdone and my wet fingertips run across the back of his hand.

The man's eyes were hazy. "Would you like to stay?"
