Chapter 2

June awkwardly pulled her dress out, turned around, and hid herself behind Conrad, trying to keep a distance from me.

"I just asked you to apologize, not to kneel down. Get up!"

I widened my eyes and, although my voice was a bit choked, I firmly refused her.

"That's ... not ... OK! I ruined your dress, Ms. Norris... It's ... a ... big deal. An apology won't be enough."

Unfortunately, the host did not have many tears, and my tears soon dried up.

I had no choice but to pull June out as she was hiding behind Conrad.

I used one hand to hug Conrad's thigh and the other to pull her dress to cover my face, shouting.

Fortunately, June's dress was big enough to cover my face entirely.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Norris! I'm sorry, Mr. Mallin! I didn't know I had to apologize after being bumped into. I'm sorry, Ms. Norris, it's my fault for not avoiding you. Please don't make things difficult for me because of this! I'm sorry!"

My words brought everyone's memory back, and they discussed.

"It's true. It's Ms. Norris bumped into this waitress."

"Yes! Yes! I saw it too."

The three of us became the center of attention, and everyone surrounded us in a circle.

It happened so quickly that neither Conrad nor June reacted in time. They were stunned by my actions.

Conrad's face was livid as he pulled his leg out while I was still pulling June's dress.

The two of them retreated so quickly that I almost hit my chin.

I turned my head with a grimace, and the paparazzi's camera was so close to my face.

I made up my mind, and I kept bumping my head against the floor.

The marble floor was cracked by me, and I ended up with a concussion and had to be admitted to the hospital.

The System gave me an electric shock to wake me up, and there were bandages wrapped around my head.

It had been five days since I knelt at the banquet.

During these five days, the topic of "Mr. Mallin from the Mallin Group forced a waitress to kneel" had always been the most trending.

Conrad's bullying behavior had been widely spread.

The System was taken back to the factory and was reprimanded by the main System because it created the first record that the host's task completion probability was negative.

As soon as the System came back, it greeted me with an electric shock punishment.

The electric current came through my arms and directly hit my heart through the bloodstream.

The intense pain in my heart instantly woke me up. I was no longer drowsy at once.

The intense pain forced me to curl up, and my movement was so big that the wound on my head started to hurt again.

I made up my mind and took out the potion I had just obtained, injecting it into the mark on my arm.

As my body adapted to the potion, the intense pain in my heart gradually eased, and the System in my mind was screaming in disbelief.

"What have you done?"

I could clearly feel the weakening control of the System over my body, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

But I knew it was only temporary. It wouldn't be long before the main System detected the disturbance in this small world, and I had to make sure I dominated the System within this limited time.

"Can't you feel? Of course, I'm going to eliminate you!"

"You can't do it. I don't know how you blocked the connection between me and the main System, but the main System will soon find out, and then you're done."

Even though artificial intelligence had incorporated human-like emotions, it was still a robot. Its voice quickly calmed down and returned to a cold machine tone.

I sneered.

"Is that so? Then why didn't it realize that you were blocked once?"

At the banquet, if I hadn't blocked the System, I wouldn't have been able to perform that excellent show. Also, it became my only chip to threaten the System.

Sure enough, the System didn't say another word.

It hesitated.

It was also an opportunity for me.

I took the opportunity to say, "Why don't you work with me? I won't erase you, and I will help you complete the mission of conquering the male lead."

The System started to hesitate. "Are you sure you will continue to complete the mission?"

"Of course. As long as you don't interfere with me. Don't mind the strategy I use."

The System's silence was its response. After a while, I heard a muffled "OK" machine sound in my mind.

Chapter 3

I laughed. It was my first laugh since I came to this world.

But soon, I couldn't.

With a bang, the door of the ward was bumped open.

A figure rushed over to me.

An angry voice rang out. "Lisa, don't think that I will like you just because of your lame tricks! I will only love June for the rest of my life."

Without looking at him, I knew it was Conrad.

The news these days had had a great impact on the Mallin Group. The stock market had fallen rapidly, and even his male lead halo couldn't help him.

Conrad was obviously angry, but it was OK. I could make him even angrier.

Conrad walked to the bed quickly and questioned me.

I looked down, looking meek, and responded to him, playing innocent.

"But I apologized according to your request, Mr. Mallin! What did I do wrong?"

I paused and raised my head slightly, speaking with a hint of confusion.

"Mr. Mallin, do you and Ms. Norris think me kneeling down is not sincere enough? It's fine. I can post it online and let the whole world see how sincere I am."

As I spoke, I quickly set up my phone stand.

Seeing that I was still pretending to be innocent, Conrad became angry.

With a wave of his hand, he knocked over the vase on the table, interrupting my actions.

"Lisa, stop pretending with me. How could the reporters happen to be there? It's obvious that you're jealous of June and found the reporters to ruin her."

Conrad became even more convinced of his speculation. He snorted coldly, and his tone was full of threats.

"Post online immediately and clarify that it was your own malicious jealousy towards June. Otherwise, don't blame my subordinates for being rude."

I seemed to hear a joke.

I asked mockingly, "Rude? So, forcing me to kneel in front of everyone isn't rude? Stop joking, Conrad. Did I beg you to let me be the substitute? Did I force you to give me 5 million dollars as the substitute fee?

"Jealous of June? What about her? Should I be jealous that she has a suitor who even can't afford 5 million dollars?

How shameless.

If he wasn't rude, why would he force the host to kneel in public?

If he wasn't rude, why would he withhold the money the host deserved?

The host had no money to pay for her medical treatment and ended up dead in pain.

I didn't bother to waste another second with Conrad. He annoyed me.

I said straightforwardly, "You want me to clarify? Fine. Give me 100 million dollars, and then I won't ask you for the substitute fee you owe me."

Conrad didn't get angry but laughed, his tone full of arrogant arrogance.

"Lisa, it seems you have forgotten that the whole of Seattle belongs to me. What qualifications do you have to negotiate terms with me?"

His lines are so typically cheesy.

Before I could talk back, someone said, her voice clear.

"Mr. Mallin, where do you put our family?"

Following the voice, I saw a woman in a bright red dress with black, slightly curled hair half hanging on her shoulders. Even though she was without any accessories, she reminded people of red roses.

The System transmitted her information to me in my head.

It was Molly Manning, the real person who tripped June at that banquet that day.

Molly was also a supporting character, but she was very different from the host.

The host was just a pitiful supporting character, while Molly was the biggest antagonist in this novel.

The Manning family was a prominent family. They helped Conrad when he was in crisis and saved his company on the condition that he married Molly.

But Conrad belonged to June, and the Manning family was just a stepping stone in his career. The Manning family eventually was merged into his business.

Molly finally woke up and started to get back on her feet to seek revenge on Conrad, but it was all in vain. In the end, she died in the wilderness.

That was a later story, and the host died in the early and middle stages.

Although Conrad's career was thriving now, compared to the Manning family, he was nothing.

Conrad looked at Molly with obvious surprise and embarrassment. He explained.

"Ms. Manning, I didn't mean anything else..."

Before he could finish, Molly waved her hand to interrupt him.

"Mr. Mallin, you don't need to explain anything to me. It's a good thing for young people to have some ambition, but the recent cooperation between the Mallin Group and my family..."

Molly paused for a moment, and everyone knew what she meant.

Molly looked directly at Conrad with a mocking smile and added.

"I believe that even without my family, Mr. Mallin, your ability can match your ambition.

"Since you can't afford the money, then I'll pay for it!

"200 million dollars in exchange for Ms. Wagner's recuperation for two months."

She said it to me.
