Chapter 1
At the wedding venue, Yasmin Harrell suddenly appeared.
After seeing this, Leonard Matthews quickly took off his wedding ring and explained in a panic that he had been coerced.
My seven-year-old son dropped the flower basket and ran over to hug Yasmin, acting coquettishly.
The big one and the small one left the bride and chased after the other girl.
I became a laughing stock.
The guests pointed their fingers at me and said I was a mistress who stole someone else's love.
Leonard also scolded me. "If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for letting Yasmin know."
However, what the father and son did not know was that I had already agreed to implement the Syrena Space Program.
——
I was only waiting for a week to depart and never see them again.
After Leonard left, the guests I warmly invited surrounded me.
They commented one after another.
"It's useless if you can't even tie up a man."
"I think you held the wedding just to get the money from the gift. It's really ugly."
"What bad luck! Spit out all the money!"
Every word was heartbreaking, but I remain calm and composed.
By the time I finished cleaning up the mess and returned home, it was already three o'clock in the night.
Leonard had been sitting quietly in the chair, as if he had been waiting for a long time.
He said with a tone of judgment, '"You're back?"
I did not respond and walked straight into the room, but he grabbed me.
My arm hurt.
"Did you choose this day on purpose to let Yasmin know? You did so many bad things nine years ago and now you want to repeat the same trick?"
In fact, we had already held a wedding once before.
Nine years ago, Leonard pursued me crazily.
He waited for me to come and go from get off work every day and brought me a loving breakfast that he made himself.
After sending me home, he still stood downstairs staring at my window foolishly.
Everyone was envious and soon I fell in love.
After I gave birth to a son, Armand Matthews, Leonard happily took me to the City Hall to get a marriage certificate.
But Yasmin found out.
Because of me, she went abroad in anger, while Leonard hurriedly chased after her.
He waited for a whole day and night at the airport, heartbreaking.
That day, everyone watched my wedding alone with cold eyes.
After coming back, he looked at me with tears streaming down my face and said with disdain, "We already have a child and the marriage certificate. My life has been completely tied up by you. What does it matter if we have a wedding party or not?"
"If it wasn't your dad, who would marry you?"
Hearing what he said, I realized that he did not want to marry me willingly.
My father saved him and he wanted to repay the kindness of saving his life. But my father was the only family member I had and that life-saving favor took away his life.
Before he died, my father begged him to give me a home.
My eyes darkened and I pulled my arm back fiercely, speaking in a calm tone, "I'm not Yasmin's dog and I wouldn't know if she suddenly returned to Arrendale."
After that, I went back to my room to sleep.
Leonard had never seen me look so indifferent before and he was somewhat taken aback.
After all, when he accused me before, I had already burst into tears.
In the next morning ....
When he woke up, he was no longer as angry as he was yesterday.
Surprisingly, he made a whole table full of breakfast for me.
Enjoying our breakfast, he took out a ring from his hand and gave it to me.
"Joanna, although the wedding hasn't been held yet, we still need the ring."
After being together for ten years, Leonard was not even willing to give me a wedding ring.
However, I did not take it. Instead, I stared at him and said, "I only want the pair of rings from the wedding the day before yesterday."
In an instant, his expression became very ugly.
He took off the ring and threw it somewhere unknown at the wedding venue.
Chapter 2
It was a ring I made myself by staying up the whole night for several days and it had my name and his name engraved on it.
"Just try it on. I asked a ring designer to design it for you. It might look better than yours."
He then took the ring and put it on my finger.
But he could not put it on no matter how hard he tried.
"This is Yasmin's size, right?"
Suddenly, his face turned pale.
I lost my appetite and left the table.
Leonard suddenly shouted from behind me. "Yasmin has returned to Arrendale and hasn't tidy up her house yet, so she's going to stay with us for now."
It turned out that he had done so much just to get Yasmin to move in.
Hearing this, Armand beside him was overjoyed and exclaimed. "Yeay, Yasmin is coming to live with us, that's great!"
I returned to the scientific research headquarters and signed an agreement for the space program.
"This trip will last three years. Have you discussed this with your husband and son?"
The person in charge confirmed it again and again.
I nodded and replied, "The sea of stars is my dream."
After handling the matter, it was already evening when I got home.
I took out the key and tried to open the door but there was no response.
I frowned and knocked on the door vigorously before Leonard came to open it for me.
"Did you change the lock?"
He nodded and said, "Yasmin said that the previous locks have been eliminated and no one uses them."
When I heard his words, I simply spread my hands and asked, "Where are the keys?"
As the words fell, hi eyes fluttered a bit and his tone was vague.
"I only had three, forgot yours."
Yasmin, Armand and he each had one.
I did not mind anything. I just reminded him. "Remember to prepare it and give it to me tomorrow."
Afterwards, when I walked into the house, I saw that Yasmin had already moved in with dignity.
Leonard and Armand were now celebrating her birthday.
The three of them chose to ignore me.
After the candle went out, he asked our son with a smile.
"It's Yasmin's birthday, what did you wish for? Tell me, what did you wish for?"
Armand looked shyly at her and said, "I want Yasmin to be my mom."
Upon hearing this, I was stunned, but only for a moment.
Armand had been closer to Leonard since he was born and he had never concealed his disdain for me.
Immediately after, Leonard asked Yasmin what wish she had made.
Yasmin blushed, feeling a little shy. "I hope our family of three can live happily together."
As soon as she finished speaking, my phone rang, breaking the happy atmosphere of their "family".
It was my friend. "Happy birthday, Joanna!"
It was very loud and Leonard obviously heard it too.
He looked at me incredulously. "Today is also your birthday? Why didn't you tell me?"
Yasmin also said sympathetically, "It's your birthday too, Joanna. What a coincidence, so I'll use this cake of mine to celebrate your birthday."
Leonard also reacted very quickly and urged me to come over and even took the candle that had just been lit and wanted to put it in.
After putting some candles, his hand suddenly stopped. "Wait, how old are you now? We need to lit the candles."
"Thirty, I married you at twenty."
As soon as the candles lit, he asked me to sit down.
But I saw that the cake, which had already been cut in half, did not have my name written on it.
The cream on top mixed with the wax dripping from the candle, just like my life for the past ten years, was a mess.
I shook my head and said, "No need, just eat it."
Of course, they did not pay much attention to me either.
At night, Leonard hugged me warmly.
Rubbing in my ear and temples, he said, "Joanna, I owe Yasmin so much for marrying you. As long as you coax her well, our wedding is not a problem."
Chapter 3
"She's going to accompany Armand to the amusement park tomorrow. You can come with her. I'll give you money and you'll pay for them when they need it."
After saying that, he put his hand into my clothes.
I immediately stopped his hand and said, "I'm having my period."
He then withdrew his hand.
The next day, I followed along.
Armand had a heart disease and I was a little worried.
But when he found out that I was going with him, he pouted his lips in dissatisfaction and muttered.
"What? It would be such a bummer if you went with us!"
When we went to the amusement park, I repeatedly reminded Yasmin several times not to let Armand play anything too extreme.
She nodded affirmatively.
But just as I was about to pay, she took Armand to play with the pendulum rides.
Watching the pendulum swung back and forth in the sky, my heart also hung in the sky.
As soon as the ride stopped, I rushed over.
As expected, Armand fell into a coma and Yasmin froze in place, looking at him with a bewildered expression.
I immediately ran forward, called an ambulance and performed artificial resuscitation and artificial respiration procedures for my son several times.
The ambulance arrived soon and Armand was sent to the operating room.
As soon as the doctor said that his condition was out of the critical period, I breathed a sigh of relief.
At this time, Leonard also hurried over.
He started to blame me. "Didn't I ask you to go over and take good care of them?"
"What kind of mom are you? Don't you know Armand has a heart disease? And you took him to play with the pendulum rides!"
I looked at him coldly and said, "Why don't you ask your son first?"
As the words fell, Leonard's anger subsided a bit and he turned to ask our son in a soft voice, "Armand, who took you to play the pendulum rides?"
The next second, Armand pointed at me with trembling fingers and answered, "It's Mom, it's Mom ...."
For a moment, I thought I was hallucinating.
I felt very disappointed.
But when Armand saw my expression, he shrank back and hid behind his father.
The man's anger grew even stronger. "Joanna, I am too disappointed in you!"
"What else did you do besides giving birth to Armand?"
Just at this moment, the doctor came in at the right time.
"Who performed CPR on the child before he was brought here? It was so timely! If it weren't for this action, the child might not have been saved."
"It's Yasmin."
Even though I had let go, my heart was still broken.
I did not stay any longer.
Before leaving, I heard Leonard say with a sad expression on his face.
"Why did I marry you in the first place? I regret it so much."
The doctor, who was also Leonard's colleague, patted him on the shoulder and sighed.
"There is an evil woman in the house. I respect you, Dr. Leonard."
For several days in a row, Leonard and Armand did not go home.
And Yasmin also posted many photos of them taking care of Armand together on her social media.
Several of them were photos of Leonard lying exhausted in her arms.
Leonard also commented. [Wiping asses for the shit some people do ....]
He always forgot to give me a key to the house, so I went to get one myself.
During this period, I was also packing my luggage at home.
Seven days passed in a flash.
And just the day before I embarked on the journey, Leonard finally sent me a message.
[Armand has a fever, come and take him home.]
Armand was discharged from the hospital a few days ago, but did not go home.
I frowned, but still went to pick my son up.
The destination was a private ballroom in a hotel.
As soon as I walked into the room, everyone looked at me in surprise.
