Chapter 3

In this life, my sister deliberately chose the day when she was disfigured in her previous life to marry Brock.

I could say that she was quite happy in this life, since the Carney Family was obedient to her. Not only did they hire a luxurious wedding team, they also hired an embroiderer to make a wedding dress for her.

Those things that I never had in my previous life made my sister very satisfied. So, she took the drooling Brock on her arm and happily got into the wedding car, while I stood there and waited for a long time.

It was almost dark when I saw Keith driving a black car and parked in front of me.

There was no dowry, wedding dress, or team that accompanied him. It was just him that came to pick me up.

Before getting in the car, I took one last look at the door that my mother couldn't wait to close. I could see that she sighed silently, since she couldn’t see her favorite daughter married to a celebrity.

So, starting from that day, I decided that there was really no need to miss that kind of home.

——

In the driver's seat.

The man pulled down his mask, his deep eyes filled with half guilt and half inquiry. Then, he called my name in a clear voice, "Stacey, even if I have a special profession, we don't have to be so low-key. I can give you the sense of ceremony that should be given."

I followed the sound and looked towards the man, suddenly my heartbeat became chaotic. Keith was much more handsome in person than in the poster or MV.

"It's okay. Can you get out so I can drive for you? I know you rarely drive, so just take it easy," I said.

After I changed places with Keith, I quickly stepped on the accelerator and left the place that was not even home for me.

——

The car moved forward.

Soon, the scenery on both sides of the road became more and more unfamiliar.

Keith didn't know what I was thinking and asked doubtfully, "Where are we going?"

I pursed my lips and said casually, "My secret base. We will be husband and wife from now on, so we need to be honest with each other."

The word frank came out.

But Keith didn’t know what to think. His earlobes just instantly turned red and he decided to not speak anymore.

As we came to a community, I braked and parked the car in the backyard.

Keith looked around and was about to get out of the car when a figure suddenly appeared next to the passenger window.

The man reached out and knocked on the car window. Then, he said calmly, as if he was harmless, "Keith, I am your fan, can you sign an autograph for me?"

When meeting a fan in the wilderness, Keith's expression changed drastically.

Instead, I directly locked the doors and windows, then counted down silently.

"Three, two, one."

The policeman in the ambush leapt out at the right time.

Wearing the strictest protective clothing, they instantly took control of the slender boy, who was ready to splash sulfuric acid at any time, by the car window.

The boy felt that his plan was perfect without realizing that he had already become a turtle in the jar.

After being captured by the patrol car, he screamed, "Keith, you are shameless. Why did you call the police to arrest me? You are an idol after all. Are you worthy of getting married? I'll kill you. I'm going to kill you."

Since he was manic and impulsive, the police brought him down with an electric baton.

"Take it away."

In my previous life, after the acid incident, the boy's crime details and identity information were all revealed by netizens.

They indeed scolded Keith for marrying young. But they also blamed Keith for not controlling the fans and allowing the tragedy to happen.

They spoke righteously and sternly, as if all tragedies happened because of Keith's existence.

After all, netizens were always right. So, thanks to them, I could easily read that seventeen-years-old boy’s movements in my second life, without ruining my face first.

But I find it extremely ridiculous. Was that bastard fans considered fans after all?

To tell you the truth, I contacted the police in advance to nip the crime in the bud, not only to protect myself, but Keith also.

Keith's parents died young, so he and his sister had been dependent on each other since childhood.

Even after entering the entertainment industry, he donated 30% of his salary to orphanages every year. So, because of his donation, the children had food to eat, clothing to wear and books to read.

For me, Keith was a good person that Betty just threw away. Well, he was too good to her after all.

Chapter 4

The police found the listening device the boy had placed in Keith' car. They also contacted the Physical Evidence Division and confirmed the concentration of sulfuric acid.

In the previous life, the person that the boy specifically wanted to destroy was Betty. But in this life, he still chose to knock on the passenger window even though he knew that Keith and I had changed places.

Why he suddenly changed his mind, I didn't want to go into details. But his days in detention would make him understand what the cost of crime was.

After Keith hired a lawyer to fully take over the matter, he stopped me at the door of the police station as I was about to leave.

"Stacey, why did you know he was there?" Keith asked since he didn't understand at all.

As a result, my brain started to think about the reason that could make sense, since I was not thinking about how to deal with it yet.

But suddenly, Joanne Hendricks, Keith’s sister jumped out of the nanny car and ran toward him, "Brother, are you okay?"

As I said before, Joanne and Keith grew up together, but the girl was not yet an adult at that time. She was still wearing a school uniform and looked extremely youthful.

I had a hard time connecting to her, since she had millions of readers on the Internet. But I didn’t expect that she had noticed me.

"Are you Stacey?"

After confirming that Keith was okay, Joanne set her sights on me.

Her eyes were careful, full of expectation and shyness. Even when she wanted to grab my hand, she pulled back halfway.

"Stacey, if you fall in love with my brother, then it means I will have a complete family?"

In the previous life, after Keith was blinded by Betty, various brands demanded compensation.

Those flimsy contracts used to bring generous rewards, but then they were life-threatening. So, in order to relieve his brother's worries, Joanne bought the copyright of her novel at a low price.

But as soon as the money reached Keith, Betty transferred it out.

My sister, who had never been willing to suffer any loss in her life, stepped on their faces and said, "You owe me this, so you should pay it back."

Without the money, Joanne and Keith were forced into debt by various people. So, in the end, Joanne, who was only eighteen years old, passed away.

After she died, Keith followed her.

The day the news broke, I received a message from my mother.

Mother: [Stacey, your sister is in a bad mood after her husband died. Come over and try to persuade her for me.]

After receiving that message, I went. But then, she strangled me to death.

So, at the moment, when the youthful Joanne stood before me, begging me to go home with her, I couldn't bear to refuse at all.

Chapter 5

Keith and Joanne lived on a flat floor in the city center.

I didn’t know if it was because they were too busy, but their home was plain and devoid of any decoration.

However, the bedroom they specially prepared for me was filled with things a girl might like, from the smallest nail polish to the largest princess bed. The three wardrobes in the dressing room were also full of new styles of the season.

When I was still shocked, they were standing at the door, biting their lips and waiting for my opinion.

Obviously, they had done a good job. Why did they still feel that they had wronged me by being related to them?

I looked at everything in front of me carefully and then thanked him with complicated emotions.

After living in the Marshall Family for more than 20 years, all my luggage just consisted of some books and a broken camp bed.

After all, my mother said that the girls had no home since we just like dandelions. When they fell into a fat place, they grew with the wind; when they fell into a thin place, they suffered all their lives.

But since she loved Betty more, she couldn't bear her marrying the idiot man in her life. However, Betty didn't appreciate her mother’s concern and chose to marry Brock, so that I could marry Keith.

Well, after all, would such a loving brother and sister make me suffer then?

The next day, a news entry about a top male star being attacked by concentrated sulfuric acid dominated the trending searches.

So, when I just packed my things and got ready to go out, the security guard at the door called, "Mrs. Marshall, are you at home? There is a person who calls herself your sister and wants to come in, but she is covered with..."

The security guard hesitated to speak, as if he was afraid that the woman would be angry.

I knew that according to Betty's true nature, even if she successfully married into the Carney Family, she would not want to see me feel better. But what did she bring to make the security so difficult?
