Chapter 1

I discover Quilton Fuller's affair before our wedding, so I lie to him about having aborted our child.

He hates me for that and gets engaged to a woman who looks just like me.

On his wedding day, he video-calls me, wanting to show me his bride. However, he's greeted by the sight of me bloody and battered after being tormented by abductors.

I beg him to at least save the baby in my womb, but he says to the abductors, "You'd better kill her and her child."

"Aren't there rumors in Altonvale saying Mr. Fuller adores his wife more than life itself? Why is he so cruel to her? Did we accidentally kidnap his mistress or something?"

I was beaten by my abductors until my head was covered in blood, yet the Quilton Fuller who once was so affectionate toward me now wished I'd just drop dead.

He wrapped his arms lovingly around the bride beside him, acting as if I were just a clingy nuisance who had just been dumped.

Back then, Quilton would have done everything he could to look for me. Even when I threw tantrums, he wouldn't have dared to let anything happen to me.

He was no longer the lover who would search the world just because he couldn't reach me.

He sneered. "Sally is my only bride, and she's the only one I love. Do you actually think you can get away with this pathetic act?"

Several kidnappers stood behind me. My fingernails had been pried off, and the pain shook me to the core.

These merciless devils originally intended to kill me. But then, they saw a photo by the bed that showed me with the CEO of Fuller Group.

That was the only reason I was still alive—for them to extort a higher ransom.

Quilton believed I staged the kidnapping just to appear pitiful, and that smug smile on his face only deepened at the sight of me.

Until two days ago, I had no idea that the husband who claimed to love me more than life itself had kept a mistress this whole time.

The heart-wrenching pain I felt when I first found out still tormented me to this day.

Because I was sensitive by nature and cautious with love, Quilton even transferred all of the Fuller family's assets to my name to reassure me.

If it hadn't been for the night before the wedding—when I caught him and Sally Yensen at home, tangled up on our bed—I would've truly believed he loved me to the bone.

To get revenge, I colluded with the doctor and lied that I had aborted our child.

In response, he said that I trampled on his ten years of love. Then, he turned around and decided to marry Sally.

If I hadn't witnessed their wedding with my own eyes, I might have thought that I had broken his heart, such that he would marry another woman.

But of course, I saw the wedding for myself.

As it turned out, this was the wedding I had been planning for a year.

Even during the early stages of my pregnancy, I was busy organizing that very wedding. In fact, I nearly miscarried from all the stress of planning that wedding.

To protect the baby, I had to take over a hundred heparin injections, and not once did Quilton ever try to stop me.

Meanwhile, my mysterious client only said, "My wife really likes your wedding planning style."

So, just because Sally liked it, Quilton kept rushing me to work even during my pregnancy—all to finish preparations for the grand wedding as soon as possible.

Then, in my second trimester, he brought Sally home. His intention was for me to catch them in the act, then I would naturally miscarry because of it. He would then use my miscarriage as an excuse to marry Sally without guilt.

What a beautifully scripted soap opera Quilton had planned out.

But in the end, I couldn't bear to give up the child who symbolized our ten-year love.

It was all fake—every last detail of it.

I had been played for a fool. And the most pathetic part was, even after I caught Quilton cheating—when he pointed at me and yelled like a madman—I still wondered if I should forgive him just one more time.

I was pathetically stupid. I still thought the man standing before me loved me as much as he did his own life.

When the abductors saw that Quilton didn't react, they hit me even harder. Each punch struck deep, and my body felt like it was being sliced apart.

But Quilton only held Sally in his arms, coaxing her gently, "Sally, don't be afraid. It's alright. It's all fake."

His indifference only pushed the abductors past their limit. They kept striking my five-months-pregnant belly again and again.

I wanted to scream for help, but all I saw were the two newlyweds kissing.

I was battered, bruised, and bleeding—yet not an ounce of sympathy crossed Quilton's face.

He only had eyes for the woman in his arms.

The pain I felt shattered every beautiful illusion I ever had.

Chapter 2

A gut-wrenching pain tore through my abdomen, and the searing sensation seemingly swallowed me whole in an instant.

I touched the sticky wetness beneath me, and my mind went completely blank.

When Quilton saw the amniotic fluid mixed with large pools of blood beneath me, he looked slightly flustered for a moment.

However, he quickly regained his composure and sneered. "Where did you find these extras and fake blood packs?"

His sarcasm was bone-chilling, but all I wanted was to save this hard-earned child.

"The baby… I'm begging you. Please save our baby…" I uttered.

The father who once eagerly looked forward to this child's birth now watched this scene with mockery in his eyes.

"Did you forget that you already aborted the baby two days ago? Now that you see me marrying someone else, you want to use this worthless lie to win me back? Don't think you can manipulate me just because I care about children," Quilton said.

I gave up all my pride and begged him in the hope that he would mercifully save me and the baby in my belly, but he only thought I was a despicable liar.

"The prenatal report is in the drawer—I just did it today. Our baby is healthy…" I murmured.

The baby inside me was already five months old. How could I bear to have it aborted?

I desperately tried to prove to Quilton that I was still pregnant.

"The prenatal report is in the drawer. I did it today… Please believe me… Didn't you also want this child?"

I knew that the ten-million-dollar ransom meant nothing to Quilton.

From what I knew, he had spent 200 million dollars just preparing this grand wedding for Sally.

The abductors' knives gleamed coldly beneath the lights, and I didn't doubt for a second that they would slit open my stomach without a second thought.

When the abductors heard there was a prenatal report, they immediately stopped torturing me. They rummaged through the drawer and finally found the report.

Overjoyed, they held it up to the camera.

Quilton squinted as if he couldn't clearly see what was written on the report.

Beside him, Sally clung to his arm and said coquettishly, "Holly's baby is pretty amazing. If she says she's pregnant, she is. If she says she isn't, then she isn't."

I began to plead. "I'm begging you, Quilton… This is your child too, isn't it?"

Tears fell from the corners of my eyes. Quilton's harsh words caused me to feel suffocated with pain.

Sally purposely pushed her belly forward and said to everyone, "So what if you didn't abort it? Quilton and I already have a child together.

"Quilton treated you like a treasure for ten years, yet you didn't even want to give him a child? Do you think you're that precious?"

The sight of Sally's slightly rounded belly made me feel like my heart had sunk again.

So, they already had a child too.

Quilton placed his hand on Sally's belly and cursed me viciously, "Why don't you slice open your belly and show me if my child is really inside?"

It felt like a knife had been violently driven through my heart.

How could I even begin to describe how happy I had been during my pregnancy?

Quilton had set aside his vast family business just to have a baby with me. During my pregnancy, he stayed by my side and never left me for a moment. To ensure the child's safe delivery, he didn't even let my feet touch the ground.

However, I had forgotten something.

From the day he brought Sally home, he never intended to keep this child at all.

Quilton stayed indifferent as he shielded the woman in his arms. This only further enraged the abductors.

The abductor behind me lost his patience and yanked my hair violently. He then drove his knife into my pregnant belly and cursed harshly, "You useless thing! I actually thought you were precious to Quilton! You just wasted my time!"

The next second, I felt an emptiness in my belly.

The child I had carried for five months was gone, just like that.

Pain and despair consumed me entirely.

Chapter 3

At five months, my already-formed baby was forcibly torn from my womb.

I could see the tiny outlines of his features. There wasn't a single part of him I hadn't pictured before, including a round little head and a delicate, upturned nose.

When Quilton saw the blood-covered fetus, he froze in place. He staggered forward a couple of steps, but Sally tugged on the hem of his suit.

Quilton shoved her off violently. "Didn't you say the prenatal report was fake? How could this be?"

"She used an AI deepfake software to deceive you! Don't you get it?" Sally shouted, clinging tightly to Quilton.

Then, she took out her phone, made a deepfake video of a pregnant woman being cut open, and uploaded a photo of me and the abductors. Soon, a hyper-realistic video appeared.

Several of the nearby guests chimed in. "It's true that top AI video creators nowadays can fake anything flawlessly."

The wedding guests erupted into an excited frenzy.

"So Mr. Fuller's ex is that kind of person. First, she aborts the baby, then tries to stop the wedding with tricks like this…"

Feeling utterly deceived, Quilton tossed all the decorations to the floor. He pointed furiously at me on-screen and said, "Even if you die, it has nothing to do with me.

"Did you really think I loved you for ten years? Truth is, I've always wanted to marry Sally. I've been with her since the first year of our marriage."

He gestured, and the assistant beside him began playing clips from the couple's past.

My eyes stung with every single clip that played.

So, they had already been together while I was still with him.

I remembered taking medicine every day back then, hoping for the day I could conceive Quilton's child—but now it all felt laughable.

He had been living it up with Sally the whole time.

Every night after I fell asleep, the two of them were out indulging in passion.

Quilton and Sally weren't doing anything outright, but I could see how they included their guests as props in their provocative performance on stage.

There was a kiss mark on the inner lining of Quilton's collar. Sally's neatly dressed figure sat on Quilton's lap, and there was an obvious flush at the tips of his ears.

"I was planning to keep this from you. You could've continued being Mrs. Fuller, but you just didn't know your place." Quilton sneered.

Tears streamed down my face, and my pain only seemed to fuel his excitement.

He cursed me viciously, his expression tinged with a sick sort of triumph.

The abductors gave up all hope of getting ransom money from Quilton. They began rummaging through my house and looked for anything of value.

In the end, they tore off a ruby pendant from around my neck. It was a token of love that Quilton had once given me.

Quilton's gaze froze on the pendant, and for a moment, I thought he was finally remembering our past.

But instead, he snapped viciously, "You think I'll fall for your tricks a second time?"

"Mr. Fuller, I'll give you one last chance. Are you going to save this woman or not?" the abductors asked angrily.

Quilton didn't answer them at all. He pulled the trembling Sally tighter into his arms and said to his assistant, "Turn off the feed. That woman's guts are all over the floor. I don't want it to frighten Sally."

To take revenge for not getting the ransom, the abductors had someone drag me to the wedding venue and shoved me off the second floor.

My once slightly bulging belly had long been emptied, slashed open in a cross, and my insides spilled to the floor. My face lay pressed against the floor.

When my eyes met Quilton's, his face turned ashen. It was as if his soul had just left his body.

Right before I lost consciousness, I heard someone shouting wildly beside my ear.
