Chapter 3
Sarah quickly pressed the mute button and shouted at me twice, making sure that I really fainted. When I didn't respond, she finally picked up the phone, "You’re really a motherfucker! You tore my underwear. Now, find me a new one!"
"I'll be there right away, babe."
Sarah looked down at me, then stroked my face warmly. In the moment, she got up and walked away.
I clutched the bed sheet tightly and my tears broke through my defences at the moment. Henry had never left. Did he stay at home and sleep next to her? I couldn’t help to think the torture of being bullied again. I tried my best to comfort myself, thinking that I would leave the house in seven days and had nothing to do with them anymore.
In the next day, I woke up in such a mess headache. Meanwhile, Sarah got up early and cooked a big table of breakfast for me. They were all my favourite cakes and side dishes. She even picked one up and put it next to my mouth.
"Honey, open your mouth. I'll feed you."
Jack, who was sitting opposite me, pouted and became unhappy.
Sarah sent him a message on her mobile phone in front of me, [I will make it up to you later. Don't make a scene in front of Chester. I can give you whatever you want.]
Jack then put away his mood with pride, as he glanced at me with contempt. He stood up and left the table. When he passed Sarah, he still managed to run his fingers under her skirt before walking out.
I didn't take the food Sarah fed me, but picked up the chopsticks and pretended not to see it to pick up something else to eat. Sarah thought I was still sulking and insisted on taking me out after I finished my meal.
She chartered a yacht and invited many friends, saying that she was holding a grand birthday party for me. Along the way, Sarah held my hand tightly, fearing that I would fall. She kept talking to me about our sweet memories in the past.
I didn't say anything. The irony and pain in my heart were intertwined. I once thought that I would grow old with her and never leave her. Then I realized that it was all jokes.
Sarah only loved the excitement and youth lives even more. She had forgotten the vows we made when we got married.
Walking into the yacht from outside, the road was covered with beautiful rose petals. She knew that I hated roses, but Henry did. Therefore, these rose petals were obviously prepared for him. How ironic! It was said that they would only celebrate my birthday, but I thought it was another lie.
"Honey, we held our wedding here. It was a live broadcast and I thought the whole world could see how much I loved you."
Sarah talked about the past, as if her heart was very turbulent. She pretended to shed a tear. She even lifted my finger to touch her tears. I wondered how much love it took to make a woman cry sincerely.
If she hadn't cheated and betrayed me, I would really be moved and hug her in a blissful way. She might have loved me before, but things had changed. Her love had been divided with Henry.
I pulled my hand back as my expression was calm as water. Sarah Trayes was immersed in her own thoughts. Seeing that I was not moved at all, she lowered her eyes as if hurt.
However, it only lasted for a few seconds until her eyes lit up. The corners of her mouth slightly raised as she looked at the deck. Henry was wearing a suit that Sarah had customized for him. It made the man looked noble and elegant in it.
Compared it to me who was dressed in plain clothes, he had long been outdone. Jack smiled and greeted us, "Happy birthday, Mr. Finn!" After saying the words, he walked to Sarah and held her hand tightly, covering it from everybody who was around.
"Ms. Finn, everything you want is ready. I'll count down to three. One. Two. Three!"
Suddenly, countless fireworks bloomed in the night sky, lighting up the night with colourful postures.
Chapter 4
The three of us stood together. Sarah and Henry were still holding on each other tightly. No matter how you looked at them, they obviously were seen a couple.
I looked at the fireworks, but this scene deeply hurt my eyes. When the fireworks bloomed, they were engraved with Henry's name. It should have been Chester Finn, my name, but perhaps everyone didn’t care about it and had no idea whose birthday party was it for.
Suddenly, Sarah called Jester, one of the assistances to take care of me. She seemed to have something important to do.
"Honey, I need to go somewhere. I’ll be back soon, okay?" She kissed me on the forehead and left with Jack impatiently.
Watching their backs leaving, my eyes couldn’t stop to follow where they headed to. Until my sight stayed at the door, I found the two were burnt into kissing. Henry pushed his wife and brought her under him.
"We’re so lucky that Chester can't see it. I can’t believe you really put your name on the fireworks. Don't mess around in the future."
"What are you afraid of? He can't see it." Jack tore her clothes, as their breathing became heavier and heavier until it was out of control.
I took out my mobile phone with trembling hands and started to record those scenes. I kept recording until they were entangled. Apparently, Sarah was tired and fell asleep on Jack. However, Jack didn't stop. He grabbed her and started to move again.
I couldn't see it anymore and turned away in embarrassment. I ran all the way home, not daring to stay any longer. When I got home, I took off my wedding ring and threw it into the trash can. I could hardly let go of what they had done.
I went to my room and found all the things that belonged to me and Sarah. I took them to the garden, lit a fire and burned them all to ashes. I watched coldly as the flames devoured the memories between me and Sarah. After all, we had no future.
As soon as Sarah realized that I returned home, Sarah rushed back and sweat all over her head. Her heart beating felt like stop when she saw me.
"Chester, why did you run home alone? It’s dangerous. You really scared me to death!" Sarah said it unstoppable.
I smiled and responded, "You've been away for too long, I'm scared, so I asked Jester to bring me home."
Sarah hugged me guiltily and said, "Oh, I’m sorry, honey. It's all my fault."
I didn't say anything. We just spent a few days quietly until the seventh day. Sarah accompanied me for a walk, but she received a call in the middle of the way. She wanted to leave in a hurry on the grounds of overtime. However, I stopped her.
I took out a document and turned to the signature page for her. "I have a document that needs your signature."
Sarah signed without thinking because she was in a hurry to see Jack. "What’s this document about? Do you want to buy a car or a house?" She was just asking and gave me a card to buy it myself. She then immediately left.
I didn't even have time to say goodbye to her properly. She didn't realize that she had signed our divorce agreement. Anyway, she didn't need it at all.
I took off my sunglasses and looked at Sarah's back as she left. "Goodbye Sarah. I'll see you later."
I returned home and put the divorce agreement as well as the dirty video recorded on my phone on the coffee table. I took a deep look awhile before leaving the house and picked up my suitcase to disappear.
Sarah went straight to the hospital. Jack called her and said that he was injured. When Sarah arrived, she realized that he had deceived her again. It was just a minor cold. She glared at Henry in dissatisfaction, "You tricked me again."
Just as she turned around to go, the doctor who treated her husband showed up in front of her face. Christian White asked worriedly to her, "Mrs. Finn, is there something wrong with your husband’s eyes?"
Sarah looked at him in confusion, having no idea what he was talking about. "What do you mean?"
"Your husband routinely came to this hospital to do the surgery and intensive recovery for his eyes until we made it. His eyes showed so much progress and he finally could see. He was so happy that he ran away to tell you in a first place. He said he would pay off everything he said to you," Christian explained.
Sarah almost couldn't stand and fell against the wall. Her pair of eyes filled with bottomless panic. She then pushed Henry away and stumbled home.
