Chapter 6

It wasn't until the lights were about to go out in the evening that the three angrily returned to the dormitory.

As soon as we entered the dormitory, Janet snapped my card in half and threw it on the ground and said, "It was you, wasn't it? You froze my card, right?"

I kindly explained, "I froze my own card. If a card is lost, it must be frozen. I was helping you. This card has a high limit. If you had used it, you wouldn't just be unable to go to school, you'd be going to jail. Do you understand?"

Janet fumed and said, "Do you know what it's like to order a bunch of food and not be able to pay for it? The server looked at me like I was garbage and almost called the police to report me for dining and dashing!"

I covered my mouth, coughed a few times, and tried hard not to laugh out loud. "That's strange, you're carrying Mr. Jones's eldest son, right? Shouldn't you have your own card? Why would you need to use mine? This doesn't match your status."

Thea's face turned black with anger, and she reached out her hand. "Give me money. I spent over ten thousand on Alipay today, and you have to pay me back."

Flora nodded along. "Yes, my credit card and Alipay also spent several thousand. Hurry up and give us the money."

I spread my hands and said, "I'm not giving you anything. What can you do to me?"

It seemed like they had no solution. Janet froze for a moment, then suddenly opened my wardrobe. "These are all luxury items, worth hundreds dollars. Take whatever you want as compensation!"

The three quickly cleaned out my wardrobe. Seeing them happily admiring their loot, I finally took out my phone. "I'll give you five minutes to put everything back, or I'll call the police."

Janet sneered, "Go ahead and call. Let's see what your dad thinks of you treating me like this. How are you going to go back to the Jones family?"

I dialed three numbers and continued, "Think carefully. These items together are worth a lot. Do you really want the police to take you away?"

Chapter 7

Because our voices were quite loud, a lot of people had gathered at the dormitory door.

Each one was waiting to watch the show.

Thea immediately put the bag back into my wardrobe and whispered to Flora, "Flora, let's just put them back. If this gets big, I'm not sure Janet can protect us."

Flora reluctantly put the bag back and then began asking Janet for money. "Janet, you're about to marry into a wealthy family and become rich by your son. Just pay back our money. We really can't afford it."

Janet stiffened her neck. "I already told you to use these bags to pay off the debt. What are you afraid of?"

Flora sighed and continued, "Janet, you haven't given birth to the eldest son yet. If you turn against Mr. Jones now, what if he doesn't like you anymore?"

I didn't know which sentence got through to Janet, but she reluctantly returned my bags and sneered at the onlookers, "Don't think I don't know you look down on me for being pregnant before marriage. But once you know who the father of my child is, you'll see how great my life is. I just need to endure for six more months to rise up."

To be honest, I was also very curious to know who her Mr. Jones was.

I couldn't help but wonder what she would think if she really met Mr. Jones.

However, Thea and Flora only cared about their money and kept pressing Janet for it.

"Janet, you said you'd treat us to a meal. That's why we ordered. Now you can't say we should split the bill. I really can't afford it."

"You ordered those dishes. How would we know about such high-end stuff?"

.....

Janet was so annoyed that she couldn't sleep and had to go to the bathroom to make a phone call.

When she returned, Janet looked much better and had returned the money to the two of them, regaining her confident demeanor.

Chapter 8

It was soon the weekend. I had planned to go back and tell my mom that someone was using my dad's name to deceive college students, and it happened to be my classmate.

As I walked towards my car and touched the door, Janet, Flora, and Thea rushed out, pushed me aside, and got into the car.

Crazy.

I coldly said, "Get out of the car. I don't have time to play house with you."

Janet sat in the passenger seat, smiled ambiguously at the driver, Carl, and said, "Baby, your daughter already knows about us. We don't have to hide anymore. I'm not feeling well. Take me to the hospital. Our son misses you."

I was startled. This... Mr. Jones?

This actually made sense. Carl's surname was Jones. His wife, Aunt Helen, was my family's nanny. I didn't like Carl much, thought he was slick, but Aunt Helen had taken care of me since I was a child. That's why we gave him this job. Fortunately, there had never been any mishaps at work.

I thought carefully.

There were indeed a few times I met Janet when getting out of Carl's car. Could that be it? Did she misunderstand?

The show was on. I certainly wouldn't expose it now. I tilted my head and looked at Carl. "Are you sure you want to take her to the hospital and not take me home?"

Carl looked at me, then at Janet, and finally his eyes rested on Janet's belly. He gritted his teeth and said, "Bella... you... you go home by yourself. I... I have something to do."

Bella?

Those two words made me realize that Carl was deliberately pretending to be my dad.

Janet's expression was wonderful, as if she saw through my lie. Flora and Thea, sitting in the back, were shocked by the car's decorations, discussing how much it must cost.
