Chapter 4

I went for an interview at a new company, and it went smoothly. They asked me to start in three days.

As soon as I got home, I immediately began searching for the surveillance cameras installed in my house.

In my previous life, I only discovered that Chloe had secretly installed surveillance in my house like some kind of creep after I went blind.

While I flirted with my husband Evan at home, she watched it all.

She even bought the same pajamas for me, imitating my makeup and posture, seeking excitement with Evan.

At first, I didn't know that Chloe was Evan's first love and they had never cut off contact.

She was so sweet at first, calling me "sister" as soon as we met, showering me with beautiful bags, and always being considerate.

But later, it became clear that she was just very good at manipulating.

My family and she teamed up to deceive me into giving up my corneas. In the end, I met a tragic fate in a car accident!

This time, I have to break free from this den of beasts and make those who hurt me pay the price!

After a long search, I finally found the camera. It's located on the door of the master bedroom, appearing quite hidden, but it directly faces our bed, capturing a complete view of the room.

Just the thought of my private life with Evan laid bare for others to see, makes me feel utterly disgusted!

After cutting the power, I installed another identical surveillance camera right next to the original, and I made sure to cover the living room and the study as well.

Evan wasn't the type to shy away from bringing his lover into the house and doing unspeakable things while I was not around.

I refused to believe that we couldn't gather evidence of their affair!

Even if we ended up divorcing, I’d make sure Evan walks away with nothing!

Chapter 5

In the evening, I sat on the sofa drafting a divorce agreement and reaching out to a reliable lawyer.

If Evan still wanted to plot against me or refused to accept the terms of the divorce, I would have no choice but to go through the legal process and fight for my rights in court.

The house was empty; Evan was likely still at the hospital with his blind lover. He wouldn’t have time to come home.

At this point, I didn’t care anymore.

I had no interest in any man; all I cared about was how much money I could get from the divorce. Halfway through my work, I felt thirsty, so I opened the refrigerator and poured myself a glass of beverage.

Little did I know, Evan had slipped sleeping pills into my drink to force me to donate my corneas.

After drinking the beverage, I felt a wave of dizziness and heaviness wash over me.

Just before I fainted, I noticed the front door being pushed open.

Evan seemed to have been waiting outside for a long time.

When he heard no movement from me, he rushed in with a few others, all carrying a stretcher. "Hurry, take her to the hospital! Chloe's surgery can’t wait!"

I struggled to keep my mind clear, realizing too late that I had walked into a trap.

My body felt paralyzed. Evan, who was originally a doctor, was accompanied by his colleagues from the hospital.

They quickly lifted me onto the stretcher and loaded me into the ambulance, racing toward the hospital.

Once I was wheeled into the operating room, someone nervously asked,

"Dr. Scott, do we really need to go ahead with the surgery? But... we can't proceed without the family's consent," he said.

Evan sneered, "I’m her husband; I’ll sign!"

The hospital was eerily quiet.

The silence was so profound that I could hear the sound of Evan’s pen swiftly signing papers.

I felt as if Evan’s voice was whispering in my ear, "Isabella, if you had agreed to me earlier, none of this would have happened. After all, you rely on me to support you at home. Whether or not you have these eyes doesn't really matter, but Chloe… Chloe is my life..."

His words struck me like a sharp knife.

Even though we had already decided to divorce, hearing that still made my heart ache.

He had actually drugged me and forcibly removed my cornea for Chloe!

“Dr. Scott, is the surgery starting now?”

“Yes,” Evan replied, putting on surgical gloves and preparing to wheel me into the operating room. Just then, a swarm of police officers suddenly emerged from hidden corners.

“Don’t move!” they shouted, weapons drawn and aimed at Evan and his colleagues.

Panic swept over Evan as he exchanged bewildered glances with his team.

“What’s going on... Why are the police here?”
