Chapter 3

The pack started to gather at the place where the coronation would take place, everyone bringing various gifts to give to their new Alpha. No guests were outside the pack, as it was during the cold war. Some packs refused to come, so there was no special guest.

No one cared about that; the residents just needed to see their Alpha take action. The small pack was nothing to their Alpha; the enemies would soon bow back to Moonlight Pack.

"Are you ready?" asked Luna Linda to her son, who was now wearing the coronation robes.

"More than ready, Mom." Edmund looked out the window at the gathered residents.

Soon he would marry Layla and become an Alpha, replacing his father.

"Shouldn't you set Ameera free? She deserves to live a decent life, even if you don't want her to," Luna Linda said to her heart's content; she was afraid of the unknown.

An Alpha should never marry a woman, not his mate, but Edmund is stubborn. He assured his parents nothing would happen to her; Ameera was just a weak girl who couldn't do anything.

"That's it; I know I can't change your decision. Get ready, and we will start the ceremony soon," Luna Linda quickly led Edmund to the wedding altar.

There stood an elder who would marry him and Layla.

The villagers bowed as they saw Alpha, Luna, and Edmund enter the altar. They saluted the pack leader with all their hearts.

A musical accompaniment accompanied the proceedings after each had given their speech.

An elder invited Layla to the wedding altar.

Layla arrived on her father's arm, her striking wedding dress looking out of place on her body. However, Layla was saved by having a beautiful face. So perhaps the people were more mesmerized by her beauty than by her dress.

Edmund welcomed Layla with great emotion at the altar, gently accepting her hand.

"Please take care of my daughter," said Layla's father, to which Edmund nodded gently.

The two then stood side by side in the center of the altar, the wedding ceremony getting underway.

The elder handed over a glass filled with holy water and asked Edmund and Layla to drip their blood into it.

Edmund and Layla immediately did as the elder said. They scratched a little on their thumb using the knife provided.

"Now drink this holy water, and you will officially become husband and wife," the elder explained.

Without waiting for another command, Edmund drank the holy water and handed it to Layla. Layla did the same.

The people cheered again, and finally, the Alpha had his life partner.

The program continued with the coronation of Edmund and Layla as the new Alpha and Luna. The event went on without interruption; the villagers began to enjoy the banquet.

Edmund, now an Alpha, smiled with satisfaction; he could finally do whatever he wanted. He even had Layla by his side.

No one cared about Ameera, who was now dying; he felt his body getting weaker.

Blood continued to flow from his wounds that he had just gotten again yesterday when Edmund came to him.

Without feeling Edmund tortured her cruelly, her whole body was not spared from Edmund's torture. He mercilessly changed shifts with his wolf and Zeewed at Ameera's body.

Ameera, who was already exhausted, couldn't even make a sound anymore; it was only a few minutes before she fell asleep. However, Edmund came and tormented her.

"Stop it," she pleaded softly, her voice unable to come out. The pain in her body was truly excruciating.

Ameera's moans went unheard by Edmund until he stopped when she was satisfied.

"Are you shameless? Because of you, I must feel pain, you useless bastard!" Edmund said sharply.

As long as he was hurting Ameera, Edmund also felt her pain. However, that did not make him stop. Instead, he was even more annoyed with Ameera, who he thought was a pest.

"I'm sorry," Ameera whispered, her heart still sincere even though she had been hurt in such a way.

"Your apology is not enough!"

"It's better that you perish from this world! I pity the moon goddess who created a weak creature like you as my eye." Edmund moved closer to the helpless Ameera.

He gripped Ameera's chin firmly, forcing her to look at him.

Stammering, Ameera tried to get her voice out, "Please free me."

Edmund strengthened his grip; hearing Ameera's voice, he felt something was wrong with her.

"Listen to me carefully; tomorrow is my coronation day. I will marry and make Layla the Luna of this pack. You are nothing more than a bully! Mom and Dad won't know that Layla isn't my eye if you don't show up!" Edmund said with a sharp gaze as if he wanted to eliminate Ameera immediately.

Ameera heard Edmund's words feeling angry; she was already disappointed enough with Edmund, who did not accept and tortured her. Now the man quickly said he would marry his lover and Zeeim as his mate in front of many people.

"You can't do that," Ameera said weakly.

"Of course, I can because I am the soon-to-be Alpha. I can choose anyone to be my mate."

"I am your mate."

"I refuse; you should die so I don't have to have a weak mate like you!"

Ameera was wide-eyed at Edmund's words; he stared in disbelief at Edmund, who would go to such lengths to get rid of him. Even though Edmund could release him, he would not demand his rights if he was not accepted.

Ameera stared at Edmund's face with a vengeance; she had never been hurt in such a horrible way. Despite living alone, Ameera lived well despite feeling lonely all the time.

But this man before her mercilessly tortured her the moment they met.

Ameera waited to see what Edmund would say next. Would he kill her now? Ameera thought.

"I, Edmund Lycaon, reject Ameera Alcmene as my mate!" Edmund said coldly.

Ameera felt her heart breaking into pieces; Edmund's distinctive scent that she could still feel earlier was now gone. Her heart suddenly felt empty, as if there was a big hole in her heart.

Her tears flowed without her being able to hold them back; Ameera cried silently. She was lamenting her fate.

In contrast to Edmund, who was confused, he felt something strange about his body after their mate bond was severed. The wolf inside him howled sadly, feeling the pain he was forced to part with his partner. Although Edmund's wolf did not accept Ameera's presence, he still could not avoid their mate bond.

Edmund violently released his grip on Ameera.

He walked away, leaving Ameera staring in disbelief at his fate.

"Zee? Zee! Answer me!" called Ameera to her wolf.

She could hear Zee's pained howl in her head, after which she heard nothing more. Ameera was worried that she would lose Zee. She was afraid Zee would die because her mate's bond was broken.

The impact of breaking the mate bond was huge, especially for her and Zee, who were just weak wolves.

Ameera cried loudly; she roared with all the strength she had left. She was so afraid of losing Zee.

"EDMUND LYCAON! I AM AMEERA ALCMENE, SWEAR IN THE NAME OF THE MOON GODDESS TO TAKE REVENGE FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE TO ME! I WILL BRING DESTRUCTION TO YOU AND ALL THE INHABITANTS OF THIS PACK! I SWEAR TO ANNIHILATE YOU ALL!"

The sky suddenly rumbled right after Ameera finished her sentence as if agreeing with her.

She was determined to avenge her pain at any cost, even if she had to sell her soul to a demon.

Chapter 4

Edmund walked away from Ameera feeling strange, not knowing what had happened to him. His wolf, Zack. He continued to roar his disapproval of Edmund's breaking the mate bond without talking to him first. He continued to berate Edmund, making Edmund feel dizzy. He also cut off communication with Zack.

"That girl doesn't suit me, Zack. You should understand that," he muttered guiltlessly.

Edmund did not realize the consequences of his actions today, he dared to defy the line of destiny that the moon goddess had created for him and Ameera.

Ameera continued to cry throughout the night. She was completely unable to communicate with her wolf. It frustrated her.

She had no energy left, she had to think of a way to get out of prison. He couldn't stay there, Zee could die from being hurt like this. Ameera would not forgive anyone who was involved in all her pain now.

"Zee! Please talk to me, I'm so scared right now," Ameera cried out in fear.

"I promise I'll get back at them in all the cruelest ways in the world, but please talk to me, Zee." Ameera kept trying to persuade Zee to talk to her, but none of her efforts worked.

"Fine if you don't want to talk to me yet, but don't leave me. I swear I will destroy them and make you feel better."

Ameera then closed her eyes, she thought that to escape she must have the energy first.

The atmosphere was so festive at the coronation feast and Edmund's wedding that everyone was overwhelmed with joy.

"We are finally fully bonded, Ed. I'm so happy today!" Layla said with obvious joy on her face.

No one realized that Layla didn't have a mate, including Edmund. It was impossible for someone not to have a mate. But Layla was very clever, she did all kinds of sneaky things to get her way.

Who would have thought that the good-looking one was a rotten-hearted and cunning one, perfectly suited to be Edmund's mate? The Moon goddess should have set them up from the beginning.

"Me too, I hope we will live a long life," Edmund replied looking lovingly at Layla.

Linda, who was no longer Luna, looked sadly at her son. She didn't know what kind of bad fate awaited her pack because of her son's stubbornness.

The party continued until midnight, everyone began to return to their homes when the event was over.

Everyone now began to rest except for the omegas and warriors who still had to clean up the party venue.

Edmund and Layla went to their room feeling excited. The two of them gazed passionately.

Edmund and Layla entered their room with a haze of passion in their eyes, the desire that they had been holding back could finally be released.

Edmund quickly kissed and crushed Layla's lips greedily.

The two of them made out ferociously, making the originally neat and beautiful room with various decorations completely ruined.

"Edmund! Keep going," moaned Layla under Edmund's power.

Edmund had his fangs out, he was about to mark Layla as his mate.

"Hold still," Edmund said heavily. He was already consumed by lust.

He quickly sunk his fangs in and sucked the blood out of Layla's neck.

"Aw! This hurts," Layla moaned unable to bear the pain, she didn't think it would be this painful.

Remembering the words of her friends and the wolves who didn't feel much pain when marked.

Layla Zeewed at Edmund's back as she felt like her neck was on fire, her body was so hot.

"Stop it, Ed, it's too painful!" Layla screamed. However, Edmund paid her no mind. He deepened his bite on Layla and continued to suck her blood until Layla lost consciousness.

"Layla?"

Edmund called Layla's name as he realized Layla had fainted, frantically Edmund moved his body away from Layla and quickly put on his clothes. He also put Layla's clothes on.

"Jacob! Bring me a healer, quick!" Edmund's mind linked to Jacob who was currently helping the omegas.

Without delaying Edmund's order, Jacob immediately darted to the infirmary and brought a healer with him to Edmund's room.

Edmund looked anxiously at the unconscious Layla, fearing that something had happened to his wife.

The sound of a knock on the door roused Edmund from his anxiety.

"What's wrong, Ed? Are you hurt?" Jacob attacked Edmund with a worried sentence as the door opened.

"I'm fine, go check on my wife!"

Edmund immediately gave his orders, and the physician Jacob had brought with him examined Layla carefully. He didn't want a small mistake to cost him his life.

"What happened to her?" Jacob began to ask, Layla had seemed fine earlier.

"I don't know. When I was marking her, she just fainted," Edmund replied flatly, but the worry was clearly on his face.

Jacob was silent at Edmund's words, he thought it was because Layla wasn't dead. But Jacob prefers to remain silent, it's useless to explain something to stupid Edmund. He thought.

The healer's face looked puzzled, his forehead looked wrinkled as if he was confused.

"What's wrong? Why is your face like that?"

Edmund gave the healer a sharp look.

"I'm sorry, Alpha. But I think there's a mistake here," the healer said nervously.

"Mistake? What mistake? Say it right!"

"Calm down, Ed. You scared her."

"It seems Luna is not your mate, so her body refuses to be marked. If you insist on marking her, something bad might happen." The healer took a deep breath after finishing his sentence.

Both Edmund and Jacob fell silent at the healer's words.

"Go, don't tell anyone about this or your life is at stake."

The healer left immediately, he didn't want his head to float if he stayed there any longer. Although he was confused, how could the Alpha misidentify his dead?

Edmund rubbed his face roughly, he didn't know what to do now.

"Never mind, you'd better not tag Luna. It's better than taking a risk, right?" said Jacob giving his advice as a friend.

"But what if an enemy finds out about this? It could be a threat to our territory." Edmund said in frustration.

He couldn't imagine that it would be this complicated.

"Go, I'm going to rest."

Jacob left after hearing Edmund's words, he could only sigh heavily.

"Why do I have to have such a stubborn leader?" Jacob muttered as he darted away.

Chapter 5

Edmund looked at the unconscious Layla, feeling guilty for making her the way she was.

Then what about Ameera who he made to be destroyed in such a way?

He gently stroked Layla's face, it felt like his love for her was truly blinding. Either Edmund didn't realize it or deliberately denied it.

"Zack? Are you there?" Edmund called to his wolf who had been living with him since he broke his bond with Ameera.

There was no response from Zack like he was really angry.

"Come on, Zack! She's just a weak and useless girl, isn't Layla much better than her?" Edmund coaxed.

There was no response from Zack. Edmund sighed harshly, not understanding the wolf's train of thought.

He gave up, deciding to walk out of the room to catch some air.

Leaving the unconscious Layla alone, Edmund walked down the corridor.

He suddenly felt annoyed when he remembered that Zack didn't want to talk to him because of Ameera, that weak girl. He thought.

With the speed of an Alpha, it took less than a few minutes. Edmund was now in front of the dungeon.

He walked into the cell where Ameera was, with his unfounded annoyance.

"Look what I'm going to do this time! You'd better perish, weak girl!"

The guards immediately opened the cell door upon seeing Edmund's arrival, there was no one Edmund visited but Ameera there. Making the guards already understand what to do without asking.

"Bring me a bucket of salt water!" Edmund said cruelly. He stared fiercely at the sleeping Ameera.

He deliberately did not wake Ameera up, because he wanted to give him a special surprise in the middle of his sweet dreams.

"Here, Alpha."

Edmund received the bucket of salt water he asked for. Not needing to count how many seconds, Edmund poured the salt water without pity for Ameera.

"Argh!" Ameera screeched in pain, her open wounds stinging as the saltwater soaked her body.

"Help!" Ameera cried out for help, not yet realizing who was doing her harm.

"You look like a worm in salt," Edmund said coldly.

It made Ameera realize who had the heart to do that to her.

"You!" muttered Ameera with a strong feeling of hatred.

He looked at Edmund with a hateful gaze, now Ameera hated the creature in front of him.

"How dare you look at me like that!" growled Edmund, he picked up the whip quickly.

"Argh?" moaned Ameera as she felt a new wound on her body.

"I will kill you tonight! Because of you, I can't unite with Layla!" said Edmund sharply, he didn't stop whipping Ameera's shapeless body.

"What did I do wrong to make you feel this way!" whimpered Ameera, not accepting Edmund's treatment of her.

"Your fault is that you are my eye!" Edmund replied angrily, he continued to swing his whip against Ameera's body.

"Argh!"

"You should blame your bad destiny! Why blame me!" replied Ameera with hatred.

"You!" Edmund, who was infuriated by Ameera's words, increased his whipping.

Until Ameera felt her whole body numb, she could not even breathe.

Ameera seemed to be trying to breathe properly, she drew in the air around her greedily.

But it was to no avail, her chest was getting tight. Her air supply was dwindling.

"I can't die now! Moon goddess please help me! I have to avenge myself, I can't die right now," she pleaded to the moon goddess in her heart.

It seemed that Ameera's prayer was heard by the Moon Goddess but in a different way.

Ameera lost her life because she couldn't bear the pain anymore, her body didn't move anymore when she received the lashes from Edmund.

Seeing Ameera who gave no response as he tortured her, Edmund ordered a guard to examine Ameera's body.

"She's dead, Alpha," said the guard as he felt no signs of life on Ameera's body.

Her body had even cooled down like a dead person.

"What a weak creature, so dead!" Edmund scoffed when he found out Ameera was dead.

Edmund wasn't satisfied with torturing Ameera, he was still annoyed. But Ameera was already dead, he had no choice but to stop.

However, Edmund felt that something was off in his heart. Again, the uncomfortable feeling of torturing Ameera.

Edmund continued to choose to ignore it, he ordered the guards to bring Ameera's corpse.

"You guys! Take her body to the forest of the dead, let her be eaten by wild animals or wild Rogues!"

The guards immediately carried out the Alpha's order, they lifted Ameera's lifeless body and carried it to the forest of death.

"Don't you pity this girl?" said a guard as they placed Ameera's body in the middle of the forest of death.

"There's nothing to pity, a weak girl doesn't seem like a good match for an Alpha. Let's go."

They left Ameera's body alone, not wanting to get into trouble for entering the forest of death for too long.

Meanwhile, Ameera's soul was now somewhere she had never been before.

"Where am I?" She said as she realized the place was now very unfamiliar.

Ameera took a good look at her surroundings, she felt comfortable there even though it was a strange place.

"Am I dead?"

Ameera noticed that her hands and feet didn't have any scars, her body should be full of wounds.

"My wounds disappeared, it seems like I'm dead," she whispered sadly.

She couldn't believe she was going to die before getting her revenge.

He tried to call his wolf when he realized the situation, "Zee? Do you hear me?"

There was no response from Zee.

"Is it possible that our realms are separate?"

Ameera tried to forget about it for a moment, at least here she and Zee would not feel pain anymore. Although she had not yet avenged her pain.

"This place is so cozy, this is what it's like to die."

Amidst her amazement at the beautiful place full of flowers of various kinds, Ameera felt someone's presence.

A dazzling light appeared before her, as the silhouette of a woman in a beautiful white dress was now in front of her.

"Ameera." The silhouette said her name softly, her voice very soothing.

"Who are you?" asked Ameera softly, she was mesmerized by the figure in front of her.

It looked so majestic and beautiful, but unfortunately, she couldn't see her face. Because it was covered by the light.

"Maybe she's a goddess?" thought Ameera.

"I am the Moon Goddess, I brought you here."

The Moon Goddess looked very kind in Ameera's eyes.

But Ameera felt a slight sense of resentment as she faced the Moon Goddess.

Because of the Goddess, she had to undergo an unpleasant fate.

"Why bring me here? So this isn't the realm of the dead?" asked Ameera confused.

"I will explain everything to you, come here." The moon goddess led Ameera to the front of a pond that looked very shimmering.

"Look into that pool, you will discover who you are and where you came from."

Ameera stared in disbelief at the moon goddess' words, but was nothing impossible for her?

Hesitantly, Ameera moved slowly to the edge of the pool. She gazed at her face reflected in the calm water of the pond.

A few seconds later, images of her origins and identity began to emerge.

Ameera cried in disbelief at her fate, did she have to live her life like that? If he did not avenge her, it would be unfair to Zee.

One by one, pieces of her life and destiny appeared, and Ameera's gaze kept changing with the images she saw.

Anger, resentment, hatred, and disappointment mixed in her heart.

"Now do you understand? I'll tell you one more thing." The moon goddess said as Ameera turned towards her.

"What else? Wasn't that everything?" asked Ameera still in a state of turmoil.

"There's still one more thing."

"What is it?"

"Your wolf is dead."
