Chapter 2

My mom always remembered the exhortation of her parents before their death. They said, "As the eldest sister, you must take care of your younger brother for the rest of your life. You should never let him suffer any injustice."

Without the restraint of my parents, my second uncle's behavior became more and more indulgent.

He began to visit the market frequently and steal meat to satisfy his hunger.

His behavior eventually led to his arrest by the police twice. However, he had no remorse until he met my aunt, a female butcher.

He intermittently stole meat from her shop for half a year.

Unexpectedly, it was a trap carefully set by my aunt.

When the police arrived, my aunt decisively showed a detailed bill, which recorded a detailed list of my second uncle's total debt of 80 thousand dollars for meat consumption over the past six months.

She gave him two choices, saying, "Either pay off the debt immediately or become the son-in-law of my family."

She jokingly added, "Don't you particularly like to eat meat? If you marry me, you will have meat every day."

Faced with the helpless yet tempting choice, my second uncle finally got married.

My mom thought that he could live a disciplined life under my aunt's strict control, but the reality was that troubles continued to take place one after another.

My mom received a call from my second uncle, saying that he was locked in a pigsty by my aunt with an iron chain.

"Why don't you open the door for me? I've been shouting outside until my voice is hoarse. Are you happy to see me die in front of you?"

He was agitated, saying, "It's a good thing I'm tough. If I had been beaten to death, not only would I not let you go as a ghost, but our parents would also come to hold you accountable! Come to my house immediately. Let that dead bitch free me! She broke my leg. If I don't go to the hospital now, I will lose my leg. Then you will have to clean up my shit and piss and serve me for the rest of my life."

I insisted that my mom take me with her to save him.

So, my parents and I went to my second uncle's house, and my dad went to negotiate with my aunt.

My mom and I went straight to the pigsty.

My second uncle looked miserable. He angrily threw a handful of pig dung at us and roared, "You're only coming to me now. Are you planning to come and collect my corpse?"

Out of years of habit, my mom instinctively apologized to my second uncle, saying, "Edward, I'm sorry for being late."

No matter what happened, if her little brother was wronged, it must be because she didn't do well enough.

This kind of thought was deeply rooted in my mom's heart. Even though my second uncle was almost 30 years old, my mom gave him 500 dollars as pocket money every month.

I gently pulled my mom's clothes, indicating her not to get close to my second uncle.

My mom turned her head and glanced at me. It seemed my actions reminded her of something. Suddenly, her face changed. She asked firmly, "Did you hurt Emery a few days ago? Can you justify yourself to me?"

My second uncle was confused by her sudden accusation. He said, What nonsense are you talking about? With her body, I don't even bother to look at her. And my wife has surveillance cameras all over the house. Check it yourself if you don't believe me."

Hearing a few words from my second uncle, my mom believed him. She breathed a sigh of relief and revealed a smile.

My second uncle's eyes suddenly became fierce. Staring at me, he said, "It was you who slandered me and prevented my sister from opening the door, right? Such a cunning girl at a young age. Sooner or later, I will teach you a lesson for my sister."

Suddenly, a gust of wind blew. My aunt's burly figure appeared from the darkness. She said, "This is my man. No one can take him away from me!"

My dad quickly came over and protected me and my mom behind him.

My mom seemed to have found the confidence to speak, saying to my aunt, "He is your husband. How can you be so heartless? If something happens to Edward, I won't let you off."

Under the dim light, my aunt smiled viciously, saying, "I have supported him for so many years and paid off his 1670 thousand dollars gambling debts. It is not over yet. He even used my hard-earned money to keep a mistress! Take him away if you want. However, give me back the money first."

The surroundings were silent. My parents were shocked by the huge amount of money.

My second uncle defended himself excitedly, saying, "Sister, she forced me to slaughter pigs every day. I have been working hard for so many years without getting any credit. She paid off my debt voluntarily. I don't owe her anything."

He almost begged my mom, saying, "Sister, you can't hesitate. You must save me tonight. My leg is broken!"

At this moment, a pig rushed past him in a panic, and my second uncle screamed in pain.

My mom's sense of responsibility and protectiveness were once again aroused. She rushed into the pigsty without hesitation.

Seeing this, my aunt raised the pig-killing knife in her hands, but my father stopped her.

The scene was chaotic. The thing I was most worried about happened. I thought, "Can't our family escape this disaster?"

I cried anxiously, looking around and thinking, "Why hasn't anyone come yet?"

Chapter 3

Finally, someone who could subdue my aunt arrived. It was my eldest uncle.

My second uncle worked in the catering industry, and my aunt bought more than half of the pork from him.

Money talks. When my aunt saw my eldest uncle, a rich man, she put away her anger and greeted him with a smile.

After this conflict was peacefully resolved, my second uncle was urgently sent to the hospital for treatment. Our whole family returned home safely.

I thought I could rest assured, but a burst of arguing came from my parents' bedroom.

My parents were usually emotionally stable people. This was the first time I had heard them argue so fiercely.

I quietly walked to the door of their room, pressed my ear against the crack, and felt anxious.

From inside the room came my father's angry voice, "Even if he didn't do anything to Emery, your sister-in-law told me in person that Edward often humiliates Emery when he drinks at home. Do you know how offensive his words are? I'm even embarrassed to tell you."

My mom defended her brother in a low voice, saying, "Men say a lot of nonsense when they drink. When he is sober, isn't he polite to both our daughters?"

My dad said, "Do you have to wait until Emery is bullied? Only then will you see the reality?"

"Your parents died early, and you have taken care of Edward a lot in daily life. I can understand all of this, but now he has bullied your daughter. I am now asking you. What is your attitude now?"

My mom remained silent. Then the sound of a cup falling and breaking came from the room.

"Your younger brother said that after you die, he will send your daughter to a sports house to earn money for him..."

These words hit my mom's heart. She suddenly screamed and cried, saying, "Shut up. Don't say anything more. I won't let Emery be bullied. But Edward is my younger brother anyway. I can't ignore him just because he talks nonsense. He is my only relative!"

"Younger brother? The sole relative? It is because of these words that our whole family is all killed."

"If my mom knew about the experiences of my sister and me in our previous lives, would she speak up for my second uncle?"

During the argument, my sleepy sister appeared by my side, rubbing her eyes with one hand and holding onto me with the other.

"Emery, why are our mom and dad arguing?"

I squatted down and gently stroked her soft hair, feeling a strong sense of guilt in my heart.

In our previous life, my sister had dry and yellow hair due to malnutrition.

I suppressed the urge to cry and forced a smile, saying to her, "Oliva, our mom and dad just spoke a little loudly. They didn't argue. I will take you back to sleep, okay?"

I picked her up. She leaned her soft and chubby little face against my shoulder. I was more determined to live a happy life with our family.

I was determined to let my second uncle personally experience the taste of being worse than death.

In my previous life, my aunt and that female anchor had never met. Even though my second uncle's leg was cruelly broken, he did not reveal who the female anchor involved with him was.

"If my aunt finds out that her best friend, Kate Lau, not only has sex with her husband but also uses her money to raise an illegitimate child, how will she react?"
