Chapter 4
I had contacted many agents, but there was still no nanny to work with.
Because of the epidemic a few years ago, everyone paid more and more attention to reunion. Some of them would rather not make money than stay in their hometown during the Christmas.
The rehearsal for the Christmas Gala took a lot of time. At Frank's insistence, I acquiesced in Bonnie's temporary replacement of Ms. Dale.
Those huge suitcases appeared in my storage room again.
Along with the crying of Ms. Dale's grandson.
I made an agreement with Frank that he had to find time to stay at home every day. At least one of us would stay with Mia.
Out of caution, I also asked Bonnie to stay in my RV until the end of the work on the day of the Christmas Gala.
For my job, Frank had no choice but to agree.
The next day, Bonnie came back with Mia.
Bonnie got started quickly and had a good interaction with Mia.
It was just that occasionally, her child-raising concepts couldn't keep up with the modern rhythm.
Ms. Dale's foot was injured, so Bonnie was responsible for cooking at home.
Frank always joked that it was a good deal to spend one person's money with two people working.
He fulfilled his promise to me and took more care of Mia. He spent more and more time with her every day.
From time to time, laughter could be heard from home. It was peaceful.
But I didn't dare to relax.
It was getting closer to the Christmas Gala. Every time I thought of it, my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest and I couldn't breathe.
Since I was working at home today, I sat at the desk and stretched.
I went to the cloakroom to check the dresses and jewelry for the Christmas Gala. As soon as I opened the cabinet, I found that the box containing the jewelry had been moved.
I had always been obsessive-compulsive disorder. I had my own way of arranging jewelry, and even Frank did not know it.
Because of privacy, there was no surveillance camera installed in the cloakroom.
I counted and found that no jewelry was missing, but two bracelets and one ring were placed in the opposite direction.
"Bonnie."
"Mrs. Jones, what's wrong?"
Bonnie was cleaning the living room with sweat on her forehead.
"You touched my jewelry box?"
Ms. Dale had been at my place for two years. She only went in to clean up when I was around. I trusted her.
She was the only suspect.
As soon as I finished speaking, there was an awkward silence.
"What's wrong?"
Frank followed him in with Mia in his arms, along with Ms. Dale and Andy.
Seeing that there was something wrong with my expression, she winked at me.
"I'm, I'm sorry, Mrs. Jones. I wanted to wipe the cabinet for you, but I accidentally broke the box... I, I didn't mean to..."
She looked nervously at the floor, her knuckles turning white as she tugged at the rag.
Ms. Dale heard the news and came over, saying, "Bonnie didn't do it on purpose and she doesn't know the rules. I'll teach her later. I'm really sorry!"
"Honey, I don't think Bonnie did it on purpose. Forget it."
Frank was afraid that I would get angry, so he closed the case first.
Andy, who was in her arms, looked at the sparkling diamond bracelet on my wrist and his eyes lit up.
The black hand wiped away the snot on its face and snatched it from me.
"It was my mom's..."
Bonnie's face changed and she quickly hugged Andy.
"Mrs. Jones, I'm sorry! I won't do it again."
"I don't like people touching the things in this room. Don't come in."
"Yes! Thank you, Madam!"
Since there was nothing wrong with the jewelry, I didn't intend to look into it.
I didn't care about this incident.
In less than five days, the Christmas Gala would begin.
I rehearsed from morning to afternoon. I had just finished my work.
"Stella, look, someone stole your picture."
Chapter 5
A makeup artist who had a good relationship with me showed me her phone.
On a social media platform, a blogger named "Looking forward to a New Life" posted a few photos.
[Does it look good? My honey bought it. I said it's too expensive. He said I was worthy of the best. Thank you, honey.]
Under the words was a skinned palm, and the diamond ring on his index finger was inexplicably familiar.
Wasn't this... a gift from Frank?
"Stella, I remember that you wore this diamond ring before. It's very beautiful!"
"This ring is not custom-made, so it doesn't matter if the styles are the same."
I smiled and didn't take it to heart.
"No, no, there's more!"
The makeup artist showed me a few other photos.
She looked at the beautiful scenery outside through the floor-to-ceiling window.
There were only scenery and no other features in the photo, but I could tell at a glance that the height and direction were consistent with my house.
The post said, "Time is still, and you should be content."
It even specifically marked the location: Imperial Vista Court.
It was my neighborhood.
It was evening when I chose a house with Frank. I took a fancy to the beautiful scenery on the balcony at a glance and bought a house without hesitation.
Under the influence of the surrounding benefits, the housing prices of our community had risen a lot. It was a famous luxury district in the city.
In fact, this blogger was showing off her wealth in the name of sharing her daily life, which attracted many netizens' comments.
[Can you rich people create your own Internet?]
[I am jealous of you.]
[Imperial Vista Court? Two hundred square meters? Mom, I'm your long-lost son...]
The blogger replied to all the comments, saying that she didn't show off her wealth. She just posted some photos of her life.
Her indifferent tone made the netizens praise her even more.
I took a rough look and found some skincare products that I used to use. They were also sent out.
Thinking of the jewelry box last night, I had an answer in my heart.
"What do you think, Stella? I knew it. Did this person steal your picture?"
"No, it's all true."
I smiled faintly and continued scrolling through the pages.
I noticed that there were comments below every time the blogger shared it.
[Honey, you're so beautiful!]
[I really want to stay by your side and take care of you and the baby.]
[Honey, I know I was wrong. Can you come back?]
[What's wrong? You don't recognize me as your husband after living a good life?]
I clicked on it out of curiosity. The moment I saw the profile picture, I immediately got it through.
The netizen's profile picture was of a man and a woman kissing each other. The two of them looked young and innocent, and the background was like a rented house.
The woman was Bonnie.
A man...
It was very similar to Andy.
There's another rehearsal after the news broadcasting tonight. I said I wouldn't be back until three or four o'clock in the morning.
I took the opportunity to go home.
Sitting in the taxi, I remembered the surveillance video that had not been turned on.
I was trying to open it.
The screen showed that in the middle of the screen was the game pad of the living room, on which sat Mia and Andy.
At first, the two children were having a good time.
Mia picked up a doll, and Andy snatched it from her.
She was soft-hearted. She gave up the doll in her hand and changed to another one.
However, Andy seemed to just want to snatch it. He snatched it from Mia and even hit her on the head several times.
"Wah!" The two children burst into tears at the same time, each holding a doll's small hand.
It was common for children to fight for toys, but the next second, Bonnie's attitude was completely different from usual.
She snatched the toy from Mia's arms and stuffed it into Andy's hand.
"Be good, Andy, don't cry. She's bad! We won't play with her!"
Bonnie only picked up Andy and shook him gently, ignoring Mia's tears.
Ms. Dale stood in the open kitchen and turned a deaf ear, as if she had been used to it for a long time.
I looked at Mia, who was crying so hard that she was out of breath, and clenched my fists.
"Come on, let's eat something delicious!"
Ms. Dale carried two plates of food and asked the children to sit on the chairs.
Bonnie placed the food on Mia's table casually and held the plate to feed Andy.
Andy looked thin, but he ate very fast.
In less than two minutes, the plate of food was empty.
He cried and pointed to the plate, indicating that she had to eat the cod.
Bonnie Yates had no choice but to grab the small plate in front of Mia.
"Mia doesn't like to eat cod. Give it to Andy."
Mia watched in shock as her beloved cod was snatched away and eaten by someone else. Tears welled up in her eyes.
"It's okay, it's okay. I will make you some food!"
Ms. Dale scooped up some meat soup and asked Mia to have some soup and vegetables.
Mia smiled happily and looked at her with full trust.
At this time, Frank had just returned from the company. Andy saw him and shouted, "Daddy!"
Mia frowned and said, "It's mine, not yours!"
Frank was amused and touched the heads of the two children lovingly.
"Haha, they're all good children."
A hint of joy flashed across Bonnie's face as she was feeding and it was caught by me.
"Sir, let's eat."
The woman's voice was so tight that her eyes were almost popping out.
I wished I could grow a pair of wings on my back and tear them apart!
The music came, and the phone rang...
