CASSANDRA.

“Are you seriously going to attend the Alpha Prince's birthday? I thought you said you had probably gotten over him.” My friend Beatrice said.

Today is Alpha Draco's birthday and because he has been existing with no Luna by his side, he can't take the throne despite the Alpha blood running in his veins. I had developed a crush on him since the first time, the hoodie he gave me to wear that day is still hung up inside my wardrobe, neatly folded and untouched.

I had planned to return it to him at first but then I decided against it. He would probably not remember a weak omega like me.

Alpha Draco began to rise faster into power which actually made me feel deeply in love with him. He is handsome, cruel, and manipulative, as the rumour said, but I don't believe any of it.

“I am not planning to go because I want to seduce him or something,” I replied to Beatrice.

I am not even sure if I really mean what I said. I loved him and I don't think I will be able to bear seeing him with any girl other than me.

“Almost everyone in the city is attending so why stay at home. And Father already made sure Jake accompanied me for safety. He is right outside waiting for us.” I tried on different dresses until I found the blue one.

“Okay, if you say so then there is no reason for me not to go with you,” Beatrice said and put on her heels because she had already picked a dress to wear.

“I think I am going to wear this," I told Beatrice and her eyes lit up with admiration. She actually loved the dress just the way I do.

“And it definitely complements the colour of your eyes. You are going to catch the eye of many tonight.” Beatrice said and we both dressed up.

When we were done, Jake was the one who drove us to the party after informing Father that I was with him. The party is said to be held at the Moroc Hotel Suite, which is one of the hotels that belonged to Alpha Draco.

The moment I walked in, my insides tightened. I should have known better that he was already here. I couldn't hold back my curiosity just like anyone else and my eyes shot up, trailing over the man dressed in a black tailored tuxedo suit.

My lips parted but no words came out. I drank in his appearance and my heart skipped a beat, goosebumps travelling all over my skin.

“Please welcome Alpha Draco to our midst.” The MC said and everyone began to clap their hands.

“This is the first time I will be seeing him up close. He is so handsome.” Beatrice said beside me and her voice drew me back to the present.

The music began to play and everyone picked their partners. He sat in the VIP section and I could see his girlfriend beside him.

“As you said earlier, Beatrice, I don't know why I came here,” I said and heaved a sigh.

There is no point in loving him when I am nothing but a weak omega. He is the first in the hierarchy, an Alpha and our status is not something that can just be overlooked.

I know I should forget about him but my heart is just too crazy and I only find myself falling for him more.

“What?” Beatrice said aloud over the music blazing over the speaker.

“Do you want to dance with me?” Beatrice asked but I am not in the mood. Not after I saw my crush with another woman.

“No, I will just sit over there,” I said, pointing to an empty seat.

“And no alcohol Cassandra. You can't drink when I am not with you.” Beatrice warned and I nodded.

“Trust me, I won't,” I told her and she waved at me to just go.

I sat down, looking at everyone dancing. I owned a jewellery store that brought me a lot of profit daily. Father made sure I attended school and came out with good grades. And though I refused to work with him at the company, he allowed me to build my own business which is something I am grateful for.

In two months, I will be 19 but I have no mate. I was approached by males but I knew better that waiting for my mate might actually be the best option. He will love me despite my status because of the bond.

I brought out my phone from my purse and sent Beatrice a text. I would like to take a tour around. Don't look for me. I will be back.” I sent Beatrice the text and put the phone back inside my purse.

Standing up, I make my way up the stairs to take a look around. I continue to work endlessly until I bump into a wall

Not a wall because there is no way a wall could be in the corridor.

“I have been looking for you.” I heard the not-so-familiar voice and my eyes shot up instantly.

My blood ran cold when my blue orbs met with his darkest one. I didn't butt into a wall. It was Alpha Draco. He is standing in front of me in the flesh.

“Where have you been?” He asked, his voice a little bit slurred and I could smell the alcohol on him.

He is drunk and I think he mistook me for someone else.

Butterflies flapped their wings in my stomach when he suddenly touched my cheeks.

“Alpha Draco. I…”

My head began to turn fuzzy when I breathed in his expensive cologne. My fangs ache and my hand….

No. There is no way this is happening right now.

There is no way I will be having my first shift when I am not a wolf.

“Alpha….” My voice trailed off when I felt Alpha Draco's lips on me, his hand wrapped around my waist and my breast pressed against his chest.

There is no way.

There is no way I am hallucinating this and why is my body suddenly on fire?

And then, I heard it. It was my wolf speaking to me.

“MATE," and goosebumps travelled down my skin.

My eyes widened when I realised it was actually the word I had been yearning to hear all this time.

“MATE, " My wolf said again and I felt Alpha Draco's tongue entangle with mine.

“MINE.” He whispered and I fluttered my eyes open to see that we were already inside the room.

Maybe I was supposed to run out because he was already undoing the button of his shirt but I didn't move an inch.

I dropped my purse and he whispered again. “MINE”

He recognised me. Despite the fact that he is drunk, he recognised me.

He recognised me as his Mate.

He is my Fated Mate.

Before I could question him, I felt his hand on my leg while his arm lay on my back. He swept me off my feet and pushed the door open with his leg.

He placed me gently on the bed and kissed my neck softly. All rational thought disappeared from my head and all I could think of was the way his lips nibbled gently on my neck. The way he sucked on it was like some sweet wine.

My nipples hardened and I moaned out, unable to keep the sudden pleasure that invaded my whole body. I know what my body wants. As long as he is my Fated mate, I am ready to let him take me.

“Alpha. I…” He shut my lips with his mouth and his tongue delved in, sucking my tongue and the pleasure that exploded through my body, shocking me to my bones. When he pulled the dress off my shoulder, I knew there was no way I could turn back time.

“Alpha, please.” was the only word I could utter before I felt his mouth on my nipple.

My eyes flutter open as I try to adjust to the sudden light in the room. First, this is not my room and memories from last night rush inside me like a flood and my face flushed instantly. Alpha Draco made love to me and the memory is so vivid in my mind.

“Oh no, Cassandra.” I reprimand myself, blushing hard.

I yawned softly and stretched my body but something felt amiss. I touched the space beside me but there was no sign of the Alpha king.

“So you are awake now?” I heard his rich, deep baritone voice and my entire body jolted awake.

“Alpha…” I said in pure shock and tried to get down from the bed but I was naked.

I quickly covered my body up with the duvet and tried to look for where Alpha Draco was.

And then I spotted him.

He is sitting on the chair next to the window with a red wine in his hand. His dark hair tousled dangerously around his forehead. Clean-shaven jaw with beautiful amber eyes and full pink lips.

And those lips..

I taste them and he… he whispered my name. I remember him calling my name.

Could it be that, Alpha Draco know who I am?

Goddess. I can't believe it.

He is my Mate.

“Good morning Alpha,” I said with a smile on my face and tried to cover up my naked body.

My phone rang loudly and it seemed it might have been ringing throughout the night.

“Who are you?” Alpha Draco asked, his tone distant and cold.

I looked around the room because I couldn't quite fathom who Alpha Draco was talking to.

However, there is no one in the room except me. I swallowed hard, seeing that his gaze was directed at me. My heart skipped a beat and I smiled nervously.

There is no way he didn't recognise me right?

And why does that question make my heart hurt so badly?

“I'm talking to you.” Alpha Draco added and I felt air sucked out of my lungs

“I…” I began not knowing how to explain myself.

Am I going to inform him that I am actually the girl who ended up in his room because he kissed me? Or am I going to let him know I developed a crush on him for the past three years when he didn't even know me?

Should I inform him that I am actually his fated mate and he called my name last night? He made love to me, calling my name so why is he pretending as if he doesn't remember me?

“I said, 'Who are you?' he demanded with a voice so cold and I almost jumped out of fear.

He rose from the chair and walked towards me in his long strides. With each step he took, the rhythm of my heartbeat became disorganised. It is as if I can no longer recognise the man in front of me.

Is he not the same man who makes love to me and keeps whispering the word mine? How could he change so much as if he didn't know I was his mate?

“I am asking you a question, woman. Why is it so hard for you to answer me?” Alpha Draco asked and my lips shook violently with dread filling inside of me.

It seems I have stepped into the Lion's den and the chance of escaping now is too slim.

“My…. My name is Cassandra.” I stuttered and he climbed the bed. His long, lengthy hands lift my jaw and I stare straight into his amber eyes.

But instead of feeling elated that my Mate touched me, my whole body vibrated with fear.

With fear that last night might have been a mistake. That he didn't want me and I might make a terrible mistake.

Oh Goddess.

“And what are you doing here?” I asked and I tried to smile but it was so hard too. Not when he is looking at me like an enemy.

“Last night, you were drunk and you kissed me,” I said and he clicked his tongue. I could see that he was angry but I didn't know what to do or how to pacify him.

Could it be that he did not feel the bond?

“I am not curious to know that.” He said with the corners of his lips pulling up and my phone rang again.

“First pick that call. I could barely sleep all night because of your damn phone which didn't stop ringing.” He said and I nodded.

“Okay,” I said and he finally let my chin go. I stretched my hand to pick up my phone.

“Hello,” I said and Beatrice's voice broke through the speaker.

“Where are you, Cassandra?” She asked, her voice filled with panic.

“Your father is here and he is looking for you. Please tell me everything is okay with you.” Beatrice said and a lone tear almost escaped my lips but I forced it back.

If I cry now, I will only look weak in front of him and he will try to intimidate me. Though this might be a mistake, I need to tell him the truth. I didn't force myself on him. He did make love to me and it wasn't twice, even though I was a virgin.

“I can't explain Beatrice. Please let me call you back.” I said and ended the call.

I dropped the phone and looked into his eyes. They were filled with many emotions but then, as if they weren't there just now, all the emotions disappeared.

“You turned out to be my Fated mate last night and you called me Yours. We made love and that is how I ended up here.” I said with the last bead of strength I have in me.

“Bullshit!” he cursed and threw the glass of wine against the wall.

The glass shattered but I didn't move a finger. He wouldn't hurt me, right?

“That is one thing I wish you wouldn't say.” He said out loud, his voice rising and panic filled me from within.

“How? Why would a lowly Omega like you get Fated to me?” He asked no one in particular but I know that question was directed at me.

Just like everyone else, he is disappointed in me.

“I thought you recognised me and that is why…” He cut me off before I could complete my statement.

“I have someone I am planning to win her heart for crying out loud. This can't be happening. Why would the Moon Goddess be so dumb to mate me with a girl like you? Aren't you just a cheap slut who ended up in my bed by using your way” He said and my eyes widened in shock.

There is no way I heard that right.

A cheap slut?

Alpha Draco would never call me that.

He wouldn't call me…

“Tell me, how much do you want?” He asked and I swallowed. I just realised the gravity of what I had done and he must have taken me as one of the girls who want to end up in his bed.

What do I even think?

Alpha Draco doesn't have a girlfriend and everyone knows that but what I didn't realise is that he already developed feelings for someone, who is not me.

Just why Cassandra!

Am I going to blame the bond or my wolf, which I miraculously got last night and she chose Alpha Draco as my mate?

There was commotion outside and somehow, it was distracting from talking. In fact, I don't even know what to say.

Oh Goddess.

“Open the Goddamn door.” I heard a lady's voice outside and with force, the door was pushed open and a lady walked in in her high heels

“No. You can't do this to me, Draco.” She screamed when she saw me barely covered with the duvet.

“Why?” She asked as she walked towards him

“I can explain Jasmine. I don't know what happened. I think I was drunk last night and…” The girl called Jasmine cut Alpha Draco off.

“And what did she just say? She is your fated mate?” Jasmine asked and I swallowed.

She heard us.

I ruined his plan to marry her but everyone knew about how she had been avoiding him. She doesn't even love him.

But yet, I ruined everything for him.

“This can be solved. It's just a one-night thing with her.” Alpha Draco said and I swallowed.

I need to leave but how am I going to dress up when my dress is all over the floor?

“But she is your fated mate. Are you going to reject her? Can you do that for me?” Jasmine asked and I looked at Alpha Draco.

He looked so confused and angry and he didn't look my way since Jasmine came in.

“I have loved you Draco. You are the only man I have ever loved all my life but how could you let this bitch seduce you?” She said out loud and I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me.

“She didn't seduce me, Jasmine!” Alpha Draco yelled and I swallowed because of the way he defended me.

Didn't he just call me a cheap slut before?

How could one person be cold and at the same time warm?

Did he remember what happened last night?

“I messed up by forcing myself on her and you never make your intentions clear towards me," he admitted and finally looked at me but not with love. His eyes were filled with hatred. He is only trying to make me escape Jasmine's wrath but he is damn sure that I am the one who seduced him.

“What? So you are admitting that you actually forced yourself on her?” Jasmine asked and let out a cold laugh.

“I am done with considering you. I am not interested in you anymore.” Jasmine said and left the room.

“Jasmine.” Alpha Draco said and ran after her.

I got down quickly from the bed and picked up my dress. The tears I fought hard to hold back finally came pouring down my cheeks.

“I am so sorry” I said as I wore my dress. I picked up my bag and made my way towards the door when the door suddenly flung open.

“I, Alpha Draco Quinn, reject you, Cassandra as my mate and Luna. I hope we don't cross paths again in the future.” He said and I ran out of the room when I felt the mark on my neck burn.

He marked me last night and yet, he rejected me.

When I got to the parking lot, I called Beatrice.

“Please come and pick me up. I need to go home.” I said to the phone and let out a painful cry.

I shouldn't have come to the party.

CASSANDRA

I buried myself inside my room and cried my eyes out. Mother and Father have tried to talk to me but I chose not to see them because I am devastated. I'm still broken and I don't think I have ever regretted any of my actions as much as I regretted this.

Knock!

I heard the shock at the door and then a paper was underneath the door. I stood up and picked it up. I unfolded the paper and read what was inside.

“Are you still going to ignore me for the past three days? I'm at your door.” I read the message and immediately, I knew who wrote it. It is Beatrice.

Within a second, I unlocked the door and let Beatrice in. The moment she saw me, she pulled me in for a tight hug.

“Why are you treating me this way, Cassandra?” Beatrice asked and told me to sit down on the couch while she sat beside me.

“I feel used Beatrice,” I said and a lone tear escaped my eyes. “He called me a slut.” I added and Beatrice's eyes widened in shock.

“What?” She exclaimed. “Spill the beans please” she urged and I narrated what happened.

Beatrice was short of words but she was indeed happy at first that the Alpha was my Mate but when I told her what he called me, Beatrice looked hurt.

“I understand you perfectly Cassandra. And if I were in your shoes, I would definitely act worse. However, this is not the end of the world. Your staff needs you at the store and who knows maybe the Alpha is already looking for you to apologise.” Beatrice said and I smiled. She is trying to tell me that, I should calm my nerves and let bygones be bygones.

“Let's freshen up, please. And there are already rumours that the Alpha is actually breaking up with his girlfriend. Maybe he realised, you are the one he wants after all.” Beatrice said and I shook my head.

“I won't allow that,” I told her and she pulled me up.

“You stink. Go and take your bath.” Beatrice said and I left quickly.

ONE MONTH LATER.

It still hurts knowing that I got rejected by my fate but I was also happy because I got my wolf, even though she is weak like me.

I was grounded to the walls of my room for two weeks after Father heard what happened between Alpha Draco and me. Father was displeased to hear what happened and since that day, I refused to cross paths with Alpha Draco. I don't know what later happened between him and Jasmine but I don't want to cause the downfall of others.

Beatrice walked in through the door with my favourite ice cream bowl. I have been craving it for a while and a lot of other things.

“It wasn't as hard as I thought. Why can't you just get it yourself?” Beatrice said, after placing the ice cream on the fancy table.

“It's because I was tired. Thank yo, baby.” I said and took the ice cream. The moment I pulled the lid open, I began to feel nauseous.

“Please excuse me. I need to use the restroom.” I said and quickly went to the restroom. I washed my face and mouth.

I stare at my face in the mirror. There are no particular changes that occur in my system, so why do I always feel nauseous?

And with the way things are looking, I sincerely hope it's not what I am thinking. The door of the restroom opened and Beatrice walked inside.

“Tell me what is wrong,” Beatrice said, her eyes raking my body from my head to toe. She walked towards me and held my hand.

“Did you go for a checkup after that night?” She asked and I knew the night she was referring to.

“Yes. I did and nothing was discovered.” I replied. In fact, that was the first thing Father asked me to do.

“I think we need to go to the hospital again,” Beatrice said with seriousness.

“What do you mean?” I asked her. “I just feel weak,” I said, trying to wiggle my way out of this.

“I'm afraid it's what we are both thinking. You are pregnant Cassandra.” Beatrice said and shook my head.

“It can't be. I went for a checkup and...” I told her and hugged me.

“But he didn't use a condom. Did he?” She inquired and that is right.

“He didn't,” I told her.

“Then we need to go, Babe. Did you know this is not something we can joke about? He is an Alpha for crying out loud and it shows that getting pregnant is actually easy.”

Beatrice brought out her car key and told me to stand up.

“I will drive.” She volunteered and we both left my store.

The doctor reports came and it was just like I had anticipated. I am three weeks pregnant with the Alpha child. The same man who doesn't want me and called me a cheap slut.

“And concerning the abortion, I don't think that will be possible. You will have to come for regular check-ups in the hospital for proper check because of where the fetus is implanted.” The Doctor said before leaving.

“What are you going to do? Sooner or later, your father will actually be aware of this.” Beatrice asked and I tried to weigh my options.

She already suspected that I might be pregnant and had already asked the doctor ahead of time if the fetus could be removed.

I am wealthy enough to take care of my child but that means I will be throwing away my other chance of getting married in the future. If I decided to abort the pregnancy, it might also endanger my life.”

“I will keep the pregnancy,” I said and Beatrice's eyes widened.

“What? You need to think about this, Cassandra.” She said but that is my final decision.

“I already think about it and I believe this is the best decision I can come up with for now. He doesn't have to know about it.” I told her but my reply didn't sit quite well with her.

“But you know your father will never agree to this. He will definitely inform the Alpha King.” Beatrice said and she was right about that.

“You don't have to tell him now. And just because I decided to keep the pregnancy will not stop me from getting Fated to my second chance mate.” I said even though I wasn't sure if that was true.

But removing the pregnancy is risky and the doctor already warned me against that..

“But you know that doesn't happen to an omega like us?” she told me and that is true. We are only fated to one man.

“I just want to hope that it happens. I got my wolf and maybe there are some other things I need to discover.” I told her even though it sounded like a lie to me.

I resume to store and continue my daily life with the growing fetus inside me. Sometimes, I ask myself if I made the best decision but I know this is the best plan I could come up with if I didn't wish to endanger my life. I will eventually leave the state in order not to bring shame to my father

My phone rang and I picked it up. It was a call from the manager.

A woman is causing a commotion right here in the store.

“Did you call the security?” I asked.

“Yes, but she made it clear that she will not leave until she sees you.”

“I will be down shortly,” I said and made my way downstairs.

“What you are selling is fake! Call the owner of the store. She is a whore who decided to steal what belonged to me.” When I heard those words, my footsteps faltered and I almost fell until I saw a man wrap his hand around my waist, steadying me.

“Are you okay?” He asked and I looked up to look at him.

It's a man with a face that is not familiar. I guess he is also here to get jewellery like everyone else. He has chocolate brown eyes and his eyes were filled with worry.

“Thank you,” I murmured and he let me go.

“Do you know her?” He asked and I nodded.

“Yes. I will handle this.” I told him and walked to where Jasmine is.

“Is there a problem ma’am” I asked Jasmine.

“Yes.. here you are,” she said with relief and closed the distance between us.

“Are you happy now that he no longer wants me? You think I wouldn't know where a filthy whore like you lives?” she asked and the customers brought out their camera.

“You can come with me so that we can talk,” I said politely but Jasmine let out a cold laugh.

“What? You don't want everyone to know what you did with my man?” She said out loud and I swallowed the insult.

“Everyone, this lady here seduced Alpha Prince Draco.” She said it loud enough for everyone to hear.

Murmurs broke in the store and everyone brought out their phones to capture the moment. This will cause a huge scandal if the news breaks out.

"She offered herself to the Alpha at a low price and begged him to save her dying ass. I come here to pay her for a job well done." Jasmine said laughing and threw a bundle of money at me.

My legs shook with fear when I saw the people's expression. It was filled with disgust.

"So it's true that the Alpha was going to break up with Jasmine." One of the customers said loudly, pointing fingers at me.

"I didn't know she was a cheap whore. Women nowadays." Another person added.

"All they want is just to get under his bed. She is a whore."

"Take the money whore and leave the Alpha. It's clear that you want to sow discord between them."

I watched in horror, seeing the scene unfold right in front of me.

"Who knows if you sleep around and manage to run this cheap store?" Jasmine said and that was the height of it. I tried to slap her but Jasmine beat me to it and slapped me across the face.

My hand barely touched her and she pushed me away. "Call the cops and tell them she assaulted me," Jasmine yelled on top of her lungs.

"What have I done wrong?" I asked her and a tear escaped my eyes.

The light in my store suddenly turned off and the room was filled with murmurs. When the lights got turned on again, I couldn't see Jasmine anymore in front of me. It is as if she disappeared.

Suddenly, security guards rushed inside, surrounding the customers in the store.

"Delete the video you took and go on with your shopping." One of the guards said. Everyone was confused but they still did as they were told.

However, I don't know who the guards are.

"You can go on with your shopping.” My manager announced and they all went back, looking confused.

“Did you know what happened?” I asked my manager.

“I don't know, ma'am but I will try to check the CCTV. You can go back to your office,” she said and I went back. There was no sign of the woman who helped me earlier in the room.

I opened my office door and walked in but to my greatest surprise, someone was sitting at my desk.

“Hello, who is there?” I asked and the chair was turned.

My eyes met with his amber eyes and I swallowed.

“Hello, Cassandra. How are you doing?” He asked and the anger I felt inside of me is not the kind of emotion I thought I could show.

All I see right now is a man who blatantly rejected me for a mistake we both made. I won't be surprised if I find out that he is the one who gets rid of Jasmine from my store.

Is he going to scold me now?

Blame me?

“Why are you here?” I asked Alpha Draco and he stood up from my seat.

“I came here to propose a deal to you.” He said and continued to walk towards me.

“And what's that?” I asked.

“Let's get married.” He dropped the bombshell and I blinked my eyes.

There is no way I heard that right.
