Chapter 6
When I was seven years old, I met Sharon at Sky Orphanage.
Sharon was very thin, and her face was pale.
While I was taking a nap, she used a rusty nail clipper to cut off my long hair.
After waking up, I cried in front of the mirror.
The dean, who was very friendly to me in the morning, suddenly frowned when he saw my cut hair.
"Who did this?"
He scanned the children, and then he kicked the silent Sharon away.
"It's you again! You dare to ruin my plan. I will beat you to death!"
The dean hit Sharon hard.
I was so scared that I even forgot to cry.
I forced a smile and walked forward. "Sir, I'm not angry anymore.
"Please don't hit her, okay?"
The dean glanced at me and pushed me away. "You ugly girl! Go away!"
After beating Sharon, he squeezed out a smile that I couldn't understand on his fat face. Squatting in front of a nine-year-old long-haired girl, he asked, "Do you want a lollipop?
"I will buy it for you, okay?"
The girl nodded in a daze.
Then the dean took her away and she never came back.
I was curious and asked the teacher why.
The teacher said that she ate too much delicious food and died of overeating.
That girl was not an exception. Every girl with long hair who was taken away would eventually be stuffed to death.
As time went by, I understood the relationship between long hair and being taken away.
I finally realized that Sharon cut my hair short not because she hated me.
She was also seven years old, but why did she know that we couldn't have long hair?
When I was fourteen and had my first period, I asked Sharon about this.
Sharon smiled and touched my head. "Viola, you are very smart."
Chapter 7
I burned the business card left by the Wilson family.
They waited for three days, but I didn't contact them, so they came to me again.
"Viola, this is the room that your father and brother just renovated for you. Do you like it?"
Last time when they came to me, they thought it was easy to take me home.
But when Jenny found me at the gate of my university, she was humble and had a flattering look on her face.
I took the picture from her hand and looked at it.
There was a high-end and luxurious princess bed and a neatly organized dressing table. Everything in the picture was so beautiful that it seemed unreal to me, who grew up in an orphanage.
If Jenny hadn't deliberately avoided my fingers when she handed the picture to me, I would have believed more that she wanted to take me home.
"Mrs. Wilson, I like what you prepared for me.
"But after all, you and Carol are a family. She will be unhappy if you do this for me.
"Also, our team successfully applied for a patent last month, and the company we worked with gave me a house. Don't worry. I have a house to live."
Jenny was dumbfounded.
As if she had forgotten that my hands had touched the old man's diapers, she grabbed me tightly in an instant.
"You have a house?"
Chapter 8
The houses in Soedon were expensive.
Even a house far away from the city center would cost millions of dollars.
Jenny stared at me and finally believed what the fortuneteller said.
I was only eighteen years old this year, and I bought a house on my own.
So she believed that I would bring fortune to the Wilson family.
"Yes, but I'm busy and haven't visited it yet. If you are free today, would you like to go with me?"
"Okay." Jenny pulled me into the car with a smile. "Viola, where is your house?"
"In Quaton District."
Hearing my words, even the driver of the Wilson family was stunned.
Jenny was so surprised that she couldn't close her mouth. "Quaton District is a high-end villa area. Viola, are you sure your house is there?
"What major do you study at Kinsyl University?"
She came to see me twice but still knew nothing about me.
Obviously, she didn't care about her real daughter who was stranded outside as much as she said.
I took out my student card and the key to my house, handing them to Jenny.
With humility on my face, I said, "I majored in biological cytology. I'm not as good as Xander and Carol."
Jenny was stunned.
Xander had poor grades, so Jenny spent more than 20 million dollars to send him abroad. Finally, Xander got a mediocre degree.
As for Carol, right after finishing junior high school, she wanted to enter the entertainment industry.
Jenny used all kinds of methods to force Carol to finish high school.
When Carol finally graduated from high school, she fell in love with Howard, the son of the Griffin family. She held an engagement party, insisting on marrying him.
When Jenny saw me use the key to open the door of the house, she thought, "Compared with Viola, the two children I raised with great difficulty are nothing."
Before leaving today, Jenny was full of confidence, thinking that the princess room prepared by the Wilson family would surely make me rush home with her.
But now, she looked around at the big villa that the company had decorated exactly to my liking.
Jenny wanted to slap herself.
Her biological daughter was so outstanding, but she had always treated the fake daughter well.
She was so stupid!
