Chapter 1

A flood struck, and my brother-in-law's family's house was swept away by the water.

My parents-in-law moved in with us on the mountainside.

They occupied my room and took all the supplies I had stocked up.

The flood turned our place into an isolated island, and they ate all the food, eventually turning their evil intentions toward me.

I watched as a ghost while they slowly desecrated my body.

Reborn, I eagerly welcomed them into my home.

Because, I knew that with the flood would come a landslide.

They!

Would be neatly buried under the rocks, never to rise again.

Oh, and that husband of mine who was out there keeping a mistress!

"The heavy rain continues, and we expect this round of intense rainfall to last until early next month. Please make adequate preparations and stock up on food and drinking water."

The news played repeatedly on the TV, reminding me.

I was reborn on the day when the flash flood first hit.

The rain had been going on for half a month, and everyone was preparing to evacuate. However, a sudden flash flood isolated our entire village.

A minute later, there was a knock on the door.

I knew it was my parents-in-law bringing their youngest son's family to seek refuge with me.

Their house was at the bottom of the hill, completely swept away by the flood.

My house, on the hillside, was still relatively safe.

In my previous life, I didn't think much and immediately let them in.

In the face of a natural disaster, I felt I couldn't say no.

But when they moved in, I realized just how vicious they were.

They took over all three rooms, and I was forced to sleep on the damp floor in the living room.

They turned over all the food I hoarded and ate and drank to their heart's content.

Within days, the food ran out. My brother-in-law blamed me for not stocking enough food and slapped me to the ground.

Then, my sister-in-law, suddenly looking at me with a sinister smile, said,

"She looks like she has a bit of meat on her. That should last us a while."

God knew how I felt floating in the air.

Luckily, the god took pity on me, and I came back.

Looking at the house full of people, I sneered.

Good, soon they would all be buried under those rocks, not one of them would escape.

Chapter 2

The moment my sister-in-law, Nina, walked in, she put the few pathetic things she had salvaged from the flood into my room, tossing my clothes onto the sofa.

"I'll take this room. The left one is for Mom and Dad, and the right one is for my son."

I looked pitifully at my mother-in-law.

"Mom, where will I sleep?"

She waved her calloused hand impatiently.

"You're just one person; isn't the floor enough for you? Why are you being so picky?"

In my last life, I resisted. After all, this was my house. Why should I not have a room?

I argued with them, only to be slapped by my mother-in-law.

"Useless thing, taking up such a big house. You've been married for years and haven't even laid an egg. What's the point of keeping you around?"

"Our family doesn't support freeloaders. If you're useless, give the house to Nina. At least she has given us a son for the Field family."

I felt incredibly wronged. It was clearly their son's fault.

I called my husband, who was far away and couldn't come home.

I thought he would comfort me and take my side, but instead, he scolded me coldly.

"You're the eldest daughter-in-law, and a daughter-in-law at that. Why are you arguing with them at a time like this? Take good care of them, or don't blame me for being harsh."

I didn't know it back then, but now I do—he was holding his mistress in his arms when he took my call.

Huh!

Alright, I would see to it that they all end up buried together.

Now, I warmly held Nina's hand.

"Sister-in-law, my house is your house. Feel free to choose any room you like. I have no objections."

She crossed her arms, looking satisfied, and finally left content.

Chapter 3

My mother-in-law stood on the balcony, crying her heart out as she watched her house being swept away by the floodwaters.

"My house! The house I just renovated last year!"

Nina wiped her tears while cursing at me.

"This is all your fault! Last year, we suggested building our house on the hillside like yours, but you insisted that the bottom of the hill was more convenient. I think you did it on purpose! Did you know a flood was coming?"

What nonsense! I was not a prophet.

Moreover, she was the one who said building a house on the hillside was inconvenient due to the climbing. And now she's blaming me? Crazy.

Nina continued.

"I don't care. From now on, this house is mine."

Hmph!

It was hers, of course it was hers. I wouldn't even fight her for it.

Because this place would soon become their grave.

I divided up all the food I had stocked and placed them in different spots around the house.

In my previous life, I had stored everything in one place, and they finished it all within days.

If they had been more mindful, we could have lasted until the floodwaters receded.

This time, I would have to ration the food and give it to them little by little to make it last for two weeks.

We must hold out until the landslide happens.

I stood in the backyard, looking at the slope behind the house. After days of torrential rain, some rocks had already started to show cracks.

I was very pleased.

Turning around, I went back inside to cook for the whole family.

I only made a pot of thin porridge. Nina came over and, seeing it, scolded me.

"Are you insane? With so many people, you just made a pot of porridge? How are we supposed to get full on that?"

I quickly added a bowl for her.

"We don't have much food. I didn't expect you all to come, so I didn't stockpile enough. We have no choice but to conserve until the rescue team arrives."

She was displeased but had no choice. No one could predict a natural disaster.

Each of the five had a bowl in hand.

My mother-in-law, Maya, said.

"Looks like this rain is going to continue for a few more days. Who knows when the floodwaters will recede."

My brother-in-law, Thomas, tossed his bowl at me.

"Give me another bowl."

I hesitated.

"No, there's no more."

Before he could say anything, my mother-in-law slapped me.

"Useless woman! Why didn't you make more? What if my son goes hungry?"

Shaking, I handed over my own bowl.

"Mom, we really have no choice. There are so many of us, and the news said the rain will last at least another ten days. We must conserve."

Thomas grabbed my bowl and gulped it down, then smashed the bowl on the ground.

"You knew there would be a heavy rain; why didn't you stockpile more food? What wicked plan are you scheming?"

Huh!

I indeed have a wicked plan now, not a bit of good in me.
