"Xavier, until when are you going to endure that Olivia following you around like a dog?" A man snickered deviously.

"Yes man, Veronica has sacrificed so much for you and is now even pregnant with your child, on the other hand that Olivia has no life in her cursed womb."

Withering in pain from just going through surgery, I accidentally overheard my husband of six years, Alpha Xavier, speaking to his friends.

"I have already given a sterility drug to my 'loving' wife Olivia telling her that it is a gift from me. Now all the doctor has to do is to remove her ovaries so that she can never give birth.”

I clutched my mouth as tears streamed down my face in horror. Never in my entire life I would have imagined in my worst nightmare that my mate would impregnate my best friend whom I treated like my sister.

“But Xavier, Olivia has been desperately trying for six years to get pregnant, she will be devastated!” Veronica cried with fake tears streaming down her eyes acting pitiful.

“Devastated? She should be thankful that I have put up with her tantrums for so long when she is nothing but a substitute for you."

Xavier’s arm gently wrapped around my best Veronica, making my eyes widen as he caressed her belly, commanding.

"You are a rare silver wolf and Olivia is nothing but an omega who cannot even properly shift! I want our son to become the heir of the Blood Moon Pack."

Keeping my hand on my belly I had hot tears streaming down my face. "I am sorry baby, Your father will never love you nor will he ever realize that the silver wolf he is talking about is not Veronica but me."

Utterly broken by the husband whom I loved more than my life, I promised the child in my belly before deciding that it was time to let go of this one-sided love.

'She could never give birth because I always gave her drugs to prevent pregnancy, a lowly woman like her does not deserve to be a mother.' Those were the words Xavier said about me in front of his friends.

"No! No!"

My body shook with tremors as gut-wrenching sobs left my lips. My heart could not take the pain and I struggled in breathing, short gasps leaving my lips as I recalled how much I was tormented by my mother-in-law, soon becoming an outcast for having a 'faulty womb' when all of it was Xavier's plan.

“Luna- Luna Olivia!” At that moment a nurse entered and saw my deteriorating condition quickly helping me up while calling for the doctor simultaneously.

“Olivia” Xavier entered, his cold voice pausing as he saw the nurse putting an ice pack on my burning forehead while I laid limp.

"You useless fools! Can't you take care of one single woman?!" Xavier’s furious voice boomed.

I opened my eyes weakly, glancing at my heartless mate for whom I left everything behind only to see his eyes looking at me coldly.

“Olivia, stop creating trouble for me, with this kind of weak body, why did you even try to get up or is it all to attract my attention?

There have been sightings of rogues on the border, it is a serious issue and I need to go and look at it so for once stop being so useless and cooperate with the doctors instead of making things difficult for them!"

If it was earlier, I would have felt horrible, crying and begging my alpha mate while wondering if it was some mistake of mine that made him so indifferent to me yet now I simply looked at him without any arguments.

Since I was sick Xavier did not mind my silence and added. “Don’t worry before going I will personally feed you the medicine myself. We will soon go back to the pack when you recover so you can rest well for now.”

Soon, the doctor looked at me in hesitation before handing Xavier a cup of dark liquid. Staring at the ominous liquid, a chill ran down my spine as I weakly covered my mouth. The scene I had witnessed earlier flashed in my mind, making me tremble..

"Olivia, it is only for your own good. Don't be stupid to resist me." Xavier pried away my fingers, bringing the medicine to my lips making tears of helplessness gather in my eyes.

“N-No! I-I wont…No.” I said with difficulty moving my mouth to another side yet the very next moment Xavier held my chin tightly,

“Olivia, I have no time for your tantrums. To think I even wasted my time bringing you here to recover. Come on, gulp it down.” Xavier gently coaxed me yet I kept resisting making the glass cup fall down from his hand and shatter in the end.

"I said I don't want it!" I spat hoarsely.

Xavier froze, his cold expression disappearing for a moment, and a flicker of absolute rage crossed his eyes.

“I am doing this for your own good!” The very next moment he held my face tightly, prying open my mouth and poured the liquid from another glass in my mouth, forcing it down my throat.

“Drink it! I don’t want you to feel any pain but you are forcing me to be rough with you!”

I cried tears streaming down my eyes as he held me tightly refusing to let me spit the contents out but I did not gulp the liquid despite my throat burning with it.

The husband who had once been my savior, for whom I listened to all kinds of insults and still persisted in thinking that his love was the only thing I needed, now conspired to betray me, ordering others to take away my ability to bear children.

Black dots covered my vision as I barely stayed conscious with tears tainting my cheeks as Xavier got up leaving me alone.

Only then I spat the liquid with blood trickling down my mouth.

Soon I passed out in complete misery.

Dim surgical lights reflected in my eyes as pain covered each and every pore of my body. Recalling that Xavier intended to remove my ovaries I shuddered in fear.

“No…No..please don’t do this..” Heart-wrenching whimpers fell from my mouth as I was afraid of the safety of my unborn fetus of four months alarming the doctors.

“How can she regain her consciousness so quickly?! We are still operating on her?! Inject her with anesthesia quickly!”

When they saw me resisting, the doctors hesitated.

“Sorry, Alpha Xavier will kill us if we disobey.” With that my heartbreaking cries fell on deaf ears as they bound my hands and feet tightly to the hospital bed, stuffing my mouth with a cloth.

Hot tears streamed down my eyes drooping from the heavy dose of drugs yet the doctor stabbed my shoulder with a tranquilizer.

My vision darkened and Xavier’s low growl was the last thing I heard as he instructed a doctor outside the ward.

“What the fuck are you doing, I don’t care what method you use just get this done god damnit!”

It was already morning when I came back to my senses. Fluttering my eyes open, I tried lifting my quivering arm only to fail. It took me a moment to realize that both my wrists were twisted at odd angles and were broken.

Looking at that I knew that the surgery was successful and I could no longer bear children in my life.

"No! No! What about my baby! What about my child?!" Keeping a hand on my abdomen I inhaled sharply and my pure silver wolf took control of my body.

With her healing powers, she detected a very small presence of a life inside me, almost on the verge of death. My world instantly crashed down but I slowly rubbed my tummy.

"To think that your father would try to murder you in cold blood...you are the last hope of your mom...please don't die." I caressed my abdomen in tears helplessly before I falling back on the pillow having no energy to even lift a finger.

At this moment Xavier entered the ward with the doctors as the nurse brought in a palette filled with food.

“Olivia?” Xavier saw my lifeless eyes looking outside and not responding to him at all. His face darkened instantly as he saw my bandaged arm and bruised legs.

“What the hell did you do to her?”

His glare brought chills down the spine of the onlookers when his eyes swiped at each of them one by one.

“Didn’t I say she should not be harmed?!” The doctors shuddered feeling that they committed a mistake yet when Xavier did not even punish a single one of them they felt much releived.

“Olivia are you alright?” In a state of deep shock I could not respond to a word he said and just kept on listening.

"Yes" I said indifferently feeling numb.

“Get out!” He growled, making the onlookers scatter in fear.

"A cancerous tumor was developing inside your ovaries so the doctors had to perform a surgery. You should be thankful that it was found at an early stage."

A broken whimper left my lips, hot tears dripping down my cheeks but I still did not ask any questions or complain like before, making Xavier scowl in discomfort, a tinge of guilt gnawing at his insides.

“You are sterile now.” He said, trying to get a reaction out of me.

For years Xavier’s mother treated me worse than livestock and gave me leftover food, sometimes she even said that I had gained too much weight and did not feed me.

The malnutrition accompanied by the hard training required for the luna made my body fragile, thus despite desiring to have children all these years I always thought that something was wrong with my body not knowing that Xavier was disgusted with a child borne from me.

"It’s been six years of our marriage and you have never once been pregnant so why worry about it since you might have been sterile from the very beginning. Be good and don’t think about this matter anymore.

If you have to think then only think of how you will please my mother, she will be so disappointed in you.”

Listening to the confident words of the indifferent man, my miserable married life flashed in front of my eyes and my broken eyes finally looked at his, in heart-wrenching sorrow, making him freeze in shock.

It was almost like a stranger watching him with no emotions.

“Leave me alone.” Xavier was taken aback when I turned around not willing to even look at him anymore.

“I will make the hospital discharge you in two days, by then get rid of this pesky attitude.” With that he stood up wishing to leave me all alone to teach me a lesson but a panicked voice stopped him in his tracks.

“Olivia! please don't argue with Xavier.” The tense atmosphere was broken as Veronica entered making Xavier go to her quickly.

"Why did you come here?" He asked her in anxiousess as he clutched her shoulders gently.

“I was worried about Olivia. Xavier, please forgive her stubbornness for this once? I am sorry Olivia but I heard that you were arguing with Xavier…If I was you I would have never fought with my husband and been obedient.

I-I know that you are the daughter of Alpha Ethan and were raised as a pampered daughter but didn’t you rebel against your father in order to marry Xavier?

Even more, you have such a weak wolf and have nobody who can protect you from all the hatred and criticism apart from Alpha Xavier so you should learn to be a little gentle. Why will others think if they heard you talking so badly?"

I looked at the couple who made my life hell and did not utter a single word.

“Don’t bother with her Veronica, Olivia is not in her right mind.” Xavier glared at me showing his displeasure.

Looking at the untouched food in front of me she sniffled pretending to be deeply concerned.

“How can you be so careless Olivia? Xavier was so worried about you that he stayed here all night waiting for you to wake up. If you are still picky with your food, how would you fulfill your duties as a Luna and wife?"

"If someone heard you, they will think that you know being Luna better than me!" I snapped.

“Olivia!” Xavier growled slowly in a warning. "You can fool Grandmother but by now the entire pack knows that you have a faulty womb! You have been nothing but a matter of shame for me!

Mom has already started searching for a new bride and if you don't learn you will be discarded sooner or later!

"Do whatever you feel like." I said coldly.

"What?!"

“Please Xavier, Olivia is sick.” Veronica pouted, acting spoiled making Xavier gulp down the harsh words he wanted to say to me.

“See Olivia, I have brought all your favorite dishes for lunch, do you remember how I learned so many cuisines just to please you, I used to cook for you in our childhood because you only wanted me to serve you and I hoped that today too I can do something similar.”

Veronica was an orphan abandoned by her rogue parents on the boundary of Silver Moon Pack when she was five years old.

My father- Alpha Ethan of Silver Moon Pack wished to send her back yet it was me who stupidly thought she was pitiful and decided to bring her home with me and let her be raised in complete luxury and love like my own sister.

When Gina presented me with a homemade lunchbox and urged me to eat, Xavier was furious to see the burn mark on her hand.

“You are already so fragile! How can you do such meager tasks without worrying about your own safety at all! If anything Olivia should cook for you! She is always sitting at home so why are you trying to spoil her more!”

I smiled through tears when my mate openly protected another woman completely disregarding the fact that he used to call me ‘pretentious’ when I was sick and couldn’t work for even a day, similar marks had littered all across my hands when my mother-in-law asked me to cook for tens of guests without a break yet he never bothered.

“You are so damn concerned about her, if I didn't know any better I would have thought that you were her husband and not mine.” I gritted my teeth in anger, my insides churning painfully when my heart was agitated.

Xavier clenched his fists but was stopped when Veronica held his hand under the glass table.

“Please don't say that Olivia! You are my best friend and the true luna of Blood Moon Pack,. I cannot even dare to think of separating you two.”

Xavier’s jaw clenched when Gina declared that they had no relationship.

“If you are so guilty then you can pack your belongings and leave!” My words died on my tongue when the very next moment a sharp sting burned my cheek as Xavier slapped me hard in fury, the impact making me fall on the ground in terror.

Blood dripped down the corner of my mouth making Xavier take a step back as his hand trembled in mid-air when his eyes met mine filled with pain and agony.

“You..you should not have been so stubborn Olivia, I don't think you need any treatment anymore! Go wait at home for me, we will sort this soon!” Looking at me sharply, Willam got up storming outside in fury with his arm taking Veronica away.
