Chapter 1

NATALIA:

"My Luna..."

I looked at the omega with a suspicious gaze. Not because he regarded me, but because of the way he did it. His expression suggested that something was off and the fact that he had his hands behind him made it worse.

"Where are you going?" I asked him. It should be none of my business as I just got back from a walk to exercise my heavily pregnant body — being eight months in was no joke at all — but I needed to quench my suspicion.

"The Alpha sent me on an errand," the omega responded while avoiding eye contact with me and it only grew my suspicion.

"To do what?" I pressed further.

"To deliver a package."

"What package?"

"The alpha said not to mention."

I smiled, my eyes darting toward my own omega that was waiting for me ahead right after I had signalled to her. When I noticed she had her gaze completely away from where I stood, I focused back on the man in front of me.

"What's that you have behind you?" I queried the omega whose hands were still behind him. "Is that the package?"

For the first time since I got in front of him, the omega looked up at me. But it was only for a brief second before his eyes went down to the ground again.

"It is, my Luna," he responded.

"Alright then. Hand it over to me let me take a look."

I could sense the omega's skepticism to hand over the package but he wouldn't dare go against me. I could have his head right there as I stood and it wouldn't cost me anything.

It took a bit longer than expected but the omega eventually gave me the item he had with him. His hands were shaking as he did so and it gave me an idea of how much threat he must have received from my husband.

The package was something wrapped in a brown paper. It had on it the inscription 'To My Love' and this made me more confused than curious.

"Are you sure it was my husband that gave you this package to give out?" I had to ask the omega so I could attain clarity. I was in a state of incomprehension and that was the only way I could make this make sense.

"Yes, Luna," the omega said.

I nodded. And to get into the depth of this matter, I tore open the package forcefully which actually affected my protruded belly in some way. It made me a bit dizzy but I stood my ground.

My action generated a reaction from the omega who gasped in surprise but I ignored him. It was right at that time that something fell out of the torn brown paper and I looked down to see that it was a white piece of paper.

"Pick that up now," I instructed the omega before I decided to take a good look at the parcel I had with me after tearing the brown paper used to wrap it.

The parcel was a box of jewelry. And it wasn't just any jewelery. I didn't need someone else's eyes to realize that it was a gold jewelry with a diamond piece which screamed just how expensive the jewelry was.

This couldn't be for me, could it? My husband knows I don't fancy gold jewelries. Instead, I preferred sapphires. Who then could he be trying to gift a jewelery as expensive as this?

I had my hand stretched toward the omega who immediately put the piece of paper that had dropped earlier. I had a bad feeling about the content of the paper which actually made me feel tense. However, I knew I had to see what was in it if I needed to get my head out of this dilemma.

'Enjoy your birthday gift, love. I cannot wait for us to welcome our child into this world together.'

That was what the content of the paper read which was written boldly in my husband's handwriting. Yes, I'm pregnant with my husband's child but if he wanted to give me a gift, he didn't need to send an omega. He could easily gift me himself since we stay inside the same building.

I began to think it was some sort of mistake from the omega and wanted to question him about it until I decided to take another look at the content of the piece of paper.

'Dear Chloe' was what was right atop the piece of paper. How had I missed it in the first place?

This doesn't sound right. My name isn't Chloe. I'm Natalia and my husband knows that.

All of a sudden, it began to click. It was making so much sense in my head now. The omega's skepticism, the expensive gold jewelry that had a diamond piece in it and wasn't exactly my taste, an unfamiliar name that definitely didn't match mine...

My husband was cheating on me!

Chapter 2

NATALIA:

I wasn't exactly sure how to feel after the realization dawned on me. I only remember dropping the parcel before walking off back to the packhouse absentmindedly.

I went straight to my chamber just to cool my head and also process the new information. It just wasn't making any sense in my head. I didn't see this happening ever in my eight years of marriage to Ezekiel.

I guess my being pregnant for him wasn't enough. This was my third time of trying to have a child for him after two previous miscarriages. And now that it's looking like a success, this was what I got from him.

My train of thought was interrupted when the door to my chamber was pushed open.

I looked up to see Ezekiel walk into the room looking really exhausted. The whole excuse would be that he had a lot of duties to tend to but with what I found out today, I don't think I can trust him anymore.

"Hey. How's our baby doing?" He asked as soon as he approached the bed which I was lying on.

Before today, I would happily answer him with a huge smile on my face while I pondered on the type of loving husband I had. But now, I wasn't sure anymore. I don't even know who he is and what else he must have done before today.

Reluctantly, I responded, "Fine."

I don't think he noticed my cold response to him because he didn't react to it. Surprised me to the core because I would have expected him to question my ill attitude toward him.

He got himself busy by taking off his top while I saw how jacked he was. It was an usual sight but I didn't find it appealing this time around.

"Where have you been all day?" I asked. It was a question I would never ask him before today but I needed to know something.

Ezekiel suddenly turned around to face me with his brows raised. I could tell that he was confused about my question.

"Out of the pack," he responded without hiding his skepticism. "I'll be in the bathroom."

He still had the confusion plastered on his face when he decided to step out of the room.

From where I sat, I noticed that he had dropped his phone on the cabinet and that actually intrigued me. I knew I could find any information I wanted from it but then I was never one to go through his phone.

I was presently fighting a battle to take his device or not that I had to get down from the bed before I completely lost my mind. It was a lot of distress for me... A battle I didn't know I had to fight.

Eventually, I gave into the urge to take his phone and thus picked it up from the cabinet. I knew I had limited time to go through it because he would be back from the bathroom soon.

The first thing I did when I got hold of his phone was to open it. And to my surprise, he had a picture of a woman that wasn't me as his screensaver.

I almost lost my mind at that point because I never expected to see such as a shock. I knew that I had to look for more in his phone.

I didn't even need to do much when a notification lit up his device. It was from a contact saved as 'My heartbeat'. My curiosity took the better of me and I instantly clicked on the message to read the content.

'I miss you so much. When are you coming back to my place?'

That was the content of the message and it signalled just how serious the relationship between my husband and whoever the woman was.

It was going to be the same woman he sent the gift to. Chloe, or whatever her name was.

My curiosity led me to scroll all the way up so I could find the other messages between the two of them and the things I could see immediately gave me an idea of what was indeed going on between them.

The woman was pregnant for him. And from the messages, my husband was more than ready to father the child.

I heard footsteps getting close to the room and it was my signal to know that my time was up. I swiftly closed the messages and shut the device close, carefully placing it back on the cabinet before I sat back down on the bed.

I was right on time because as soon as I did that, Ezekiel got inside the room. That was a close call.

When he noticed that I was still up, the first thing he asked me was: "Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I'm not feeling sleepy actually..." That was what I told him in return. My heart was beating fast because I was scared that he was going to find out that I went through his phone. My tone didn't even hide how uneasy I was.

He shrugged and went to the closet to get a change of wear.

"You should be sleeping early. You know the stage you're in."

As he said that, my mind wasn't even with him. I was busy looking at his phone. I just knew I needed to get that woman's number one way or another.
