Chapter 3
I thought this incident was something minor until a couple suddenly came to me while I was in a business discussion.
That woman walked in on high heels and swept her gaze around.
Suddenly, I was splashed in the face with water.
"So, you're the jerk who changed your mind and refused to marry my daughter, right?" she asked.
I could see Chelsea in that woman's face.
"Never let some psycho in. If this happens again, you should get out of here," I warned.
My secretary, Jenny Zeller, kept apologizing as she glared at Chelsea's parents, who were stirring up trouble.
The two of them said they were my parents-in-law and were aggressive, so Jenny made sure to attend to them properly.
Sensing Jenny's condemning gaze on her, Lily Moore threw a slap across her face. Jenny was stunned by her sudden act.
"You bitch, how dare you give me that annoyed look? Once I take over the company, I'll fire you right away!" Lily snarled.
Chelsea's dad, Peter Wood, flashed his yellowed teeth and rested his legs on the desk arrogantly.
He yelled at my business partner, "Why would you work with someone like him? You're just a bunch of corrupted beings."
My business partner's face turned livid. They slammed the documents on the desk furiously and left.
Peter kept staring at my business partner and flashed a hostile look.
I sized them up and took out my checkbook nonchalantly. "Just tell me how much you want?"
Their eyes shone with greed when they saw my checkbook.
Lily and Peter exchanged looks and mumbled to each other.
Grinning, Lily sat down and admired her bright red nails with a smug look. "I heard you asked my daughter to repay you with herself. We don't mean to break you guys up. But the wedding gift should be at least 50 million dollars."
I was startled to hear her request. Chelsea had shamelessly asked me to marry her, but now I had become the one who forced her to do so.
Lily couldn't stop telling me her plans for the wedding.
Every guest on the bride's side would receive 10,000 dollars. Chelsea's cousin would host the wedding ceremony and be paid one million dollars.
After the wedding ceremony, I had to pay for their relatives' expenses to stay here for a month.
Then, she showed me a photo. "I happened to see this ring a few days ago. This can be the wedding ring."
I glanced at the photo. They did know how to pick the right one. The ring was the newly launched "Ocean Heart", and it was priceless.
As they made their unreasonable demands, I could feel my blood running cold. "How much do you plan to give me then?"
Upon hearing that, Lily and Peter jumped to their feet as if they had been caught red-handed. "How dare you ask for a wedding gift from us? It's an honor that my daughter is willing to marry you."
She was just as condescending as Chelsea.
I signaled for Jenny to make a call. Lily and Peter looked at each other, as if they were certain that I would agree to their requests.
"You're quite sensible. Oh, right. My daughter will have a share in this company after you two get married. Just transfer the shares to me."
Peter agreed with her, but his gaze was fixed on me. It sent chills down my spine.
He kept laughing as he stared at my body. "He looks good. It sure feels great to have fun with him."
He spoke softly, but I still heard everything.
Lily's face contorted as she elbowed him in the stomach, hinting for him to behave himself.
It seemed like Peter had some kind of secret fetish.
The security guards came just in time and pinned them down.
"Take them to the police station. Tell the police they tried to rob me," I instructed.
The two of them struggled to escape, and they couldn't stop cursing.
They threatened, "Try if you dare. If you do that, forget about marrying my daughter."
I waved my hand, and my gaze darkened.
Why would I encounter weirdos like them?
…
I heard a strange sound coming from the office lounge, so I walked in carefully. The document on the desk remained untouched.
Chelsea was lightly dressed, and her low-cut top threatened to reveal her chest whenever she bent over.
Her eyes beamed with glee when she saw me. She was lying happily on the bed. "Darling, it's quite nice here. I can tell that you're really rich. I'm right about you."
She threw her camisole in my face. Her cheeks were rosy as she shot me a coquettish look.
"You've got lucky today. Come here. I'll sleep with you," Chelsea said in a honeyed, alluring voice. She grew more excited as I approached her.
