Chapter 3

In the next few days, Wilhelmina followed the routine and never left her room except for giving acupuncture to the old woman.

In order to avoid meeting Leon and Tessa, she waited for them to finish eating before going to the kitchen to make some food herself.

But even though if she tried to avoid them, she still couldn't avoid those scenes of pampering and love.

Tessa wanted to eat Croissant Truffle from the west of the city, so Leon drove to buy them himself.

When she was flipping through a magazine, her fingertips lingered on a limited edition bag for three seconds. The next morning, the servant found the same bag at her door.

When she lost her appetite, Leon invited all the chefs in the city to cook for her.

Even when she wanted to have meditation, Leon immediately ordered people clean and tidy up the entire third floor.

Wilhelmina stood silently at the stairs on the third floor, watching the servants move her old bookshelf into the storage room.

She had a lot of medical books she had collected over the years and now she had to make room for Tessa's meditation.

She sighed and turned away and when she went downstairs, she ran into Leon, who had just gone to the auction to buy an ancient european abstract painting with Tessa.

Tessa was holding Leon's arm and was showing off the ancient european abstract painting she had just photographed with a coquettish smile.

Leon's gaze passed over her and fell straight on Wilhelmina.

"Wilhelmina."

He suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist with such force that she frowned.

"Have you been avoiding me all this time?"

Wilhelmina struggled a bit but failed to break free and said calmly, "No".

"You said no, but you haven't been seen for a few days and you haven't even come down to eat. Is it because Tessa is back that you're deliberately giving her a hard time?"

"No, I'm glad to hear she's back. I just figured it out, she's back. I shouldn't be pestering you anymore. You're right, you'll never love me. It was my wishful thinking before," Wilhelmina quickly explained.

But these words sounded extremely harsh to his ears and he should have been happy.

"Wishful thinking?" He leaned close to her ear and lowered his voice. "Are you trying to get my attention this way?"

The girl who had been pestering him for three years suddenly said that she didn't like him anymore? He found it ridiculous.

Wilhelmina looked up, a hint of disbelief flashing in her eyes.

Looking at the sudden change in the expression of the girl in front of him, he became more certain of his guess.

For a moment, he felt somewhat smug. See, Wilhelmina still loves me.

"Don't try to get my attention with these tricks. No matter what you do or what method you use, I will never love you. You'd better give up this idea as soon as possible."

She looked at the man she had loved for three years and for a moment she didn't know how to defend herself.

After all, it was hard to believe that she would really give up on loving him for what she did before.

She no longer tried to give him an explanation. Perhaps only when she truly left him would he believe it.

She stopped arguing and turned away.

But her silent attitude made Leon even angrier.

Leon grabbed her wrist with such force that she stumbled over.

"Since you are so knowledgeable about medical skills ...."

He firmly pressed Wilhelmina's hand on Tessa's wrist and said, "Show her!"

Wilhelmina lowered her gaze to check her pulse and suddenly frowned.

She looked up and met Tessa's smug gaze.

"Well ...." He knocked on the table impatiently and asked her, "What's wrong with her?"

Wilhelmina replied, "She's not sick."

Tessa pulled back her hand and threw herself into the man's arms. "I told you it's okay, it's her who's making a fuss ...."

He hugged Tessa, but his eyes were fixed on Wilhelmina. "Since she's not sick, why did you frown just now?"

Chapter 4

Wilhelmina took a deep breath and slowly said, "She's pregnant."

The air froze instantly.

Leon's expression changed from shock to ecstasy, but it was a little complicated when he looked at Wilhelmina.

Tessa was taken aback for a moment, then she covered her belly, tears welling up in her eyes as she said, "Leon, we are having a baby!"

"Wilhelmina." She grabbed her hand, her nails almost digging into Wilhelmina's wrist. "I'll have to trouble you to help me with my pregnancy in the future."

She turned to Leon and said coquettishly, "Leon, I want to eat mango yogurt you bought last time~"

"Starting tomorrow ...." He ordered. "Wilhelmina, you'll be responsible for Tessa's diet and acupuncture."

Wilhelmina stood there blankly without giving him any response. She had been with Leon for three years.

He also had sex with her as a way to vent his emotions, but for three years, every time he finished having sex with her, he would watch her drink the abortion pills he prepared.

"Wilhelmina, a vicious girl like you is not worthy of giving birth to the heir of our family."

Wilhelmina smiled bitterly. Am I vicious? Is Tessa the only one worthy of giving birth to your child?

The man's eyes moved around her face, his Adam's apple rolled, but he finally turned his face away. "Tessa has a poor appetite recently, go and make something suitable for pregnant women."

Tessa smiled sweetly at her and said coqquetishly, "Please, Wilhelmina~ I want something sour and spicy."

Wilhelmina gently placed the prepared medicinal supplement in front of her and a faint medicinal smell wafted from the bottle.

"Your skills are really good~" Tessa scooped a spoonful and suddenly frowned. "It's just a little bitter."

Leon said without even raising his head. "It's okay, good medicine tastes bitter."

He put down his cutlery and said, "Tomorrow night, we will have family dinner party. Please prepare for it."

Wilhelmina's fingertips paused and she asked, "Can I skip it?"

His voice was cold. "No, you're still my fiancée in name."

Tessa's spoon suddenly slipped. "Leon, my stomach hurts so much ...."

Leon frowned and stared at Wilhelmina. "What did you add to the soup?"

He quickly walked to the bedroom with his sweetheart in his arms and when he passed by Wilhelmina, he kicked her hard.

"Why are you still standing there? Hurry up and follow up to see what's wrong with her?"

His voice and gazed were as cold as ice, no warmth was left.

"If anything happens to the baby, I'll make you pay."

Wilhelmina staggered, her fingers tightly grasping the hem of her clothes, her knuckles turning white.

She had clearly decided not to love him anymore, but why did her heart still hurt like it was being stabbed by a knife?

She silently followed behind him, watching him carefully place Tessa on the bed, his movements as gentle as if he were treating a fragile treasure.

Tessa covered her belly, her face pale, but she didn't forget to give Wilhelmina a smug look.

"Leon ... my stomach hurts so much ...."

She weakly grabbed the man's hand, her voice tinged with sobs.

"Did something happen to our baby?"

He immediately turned his head and sternlu rebuked Wilhelmina. "Why are you still standing there? Check on her now!"

With a quick movement, she walked over and placed her fingertips on Tessa's pulse.

The pulse was stable and there was no abnormality at all.

She raised her head and met Tessa's provocative gaze. Then, Tessa moved her lips and said in a tone that only the two of them could hear,

"Looks quite similar, right? He believed it."

Wilhelmina withdrew her hand and said calmly, "She's fine, just need to rest for a while."

Leon frowned to hear her words. "Are you sure? Her face looks so bad."

The cunning girl immediately acted up with a groan. "It hurts...."

His face instantly darkened as he grabbed Wilhelmina's wrist and said, "Did you not even check her seriously?"

His strength was so great that Wilhelmina felt a sharp pain in her wrist bones, but she just stared at him, her eyes calm and quiet.

Back then, when she had a high fever, he also stayed by her bed in a worry and anxious, using a wet towel to cool her down again and again.

But now, all his worry and anxious were given to another given.

"Since you are so reluctant ...."

He sneered and pulled Wilhemina's hand on Tessa's belly.

"Then check on her well and feel the baby you will never be able to carry!"

These words were like a poisoned knife, stabbing deeply into her heart.

She jerked her hand away and staggered back two steps.

Tessa pretended to panic. "Leon, is she angry with me?"

Leon didn't even glance at his fiancee and gently comforted his first love. "You don't need to worry about her, just have a good rest."

Chapter 5

From that day on, Leon no longer urged Wilhelmina to help Tessa take care of her pregnancy.

Wilhelmina knelt on the cushion, gently twisting the silver needle between her fingertips and accurately piercing the knee acupoint of Sophie.

"Grandma, I still have three times left to give you treatment before I leave."

The old woman looked down at her, tears welling up in her gloomy eyes.

"Wilhelm, really ... can't you try it again?"

Wilhelmina's fingertips slightly paused, then she steadily withdrew the needle.

"Grandma, you know, sometimes we can't force our own will."

Sophie let out a long sigh and with trembling skinny hands, she took off a star-shaped diamond necklace from her neck and stuffed it into Wilhelmina's palm.

"Then our family owes you."

The diamond necklace was so beautiful and shining. It was a wedding gifts she had worn for decades.

Wilhelmina shook her head, trying to refuse, but Sophie held her hand tightly.

"Here's for you."

Sophie's voice choked up.

"I have seen everything you have done for the Pietersons over the years."

"Leon, that bastard, was so blinded by that cunning girl that he even admitted his savior was wrong!"

Sophie was so disappointed and angry that she trembled all over as she mentioned the cunning girl whom seduced her grandson.

"She pretended to go to Grenada to recuperating and studying medicine, but ended up indulging in debauchery in Mysthaven."

"And she still has the face to say she saved Leon? Huh!"

"Grandma, Tessa is pregnant."

The tea cup in the old woman's hand slammed onto the table and the hot water splashed onto her sleeves, but she was completely unaware.

"What!"

Wilhelmina lowered her eyes and repeated her words to her more clearly.

Sophie immediately stood up and hit the ground with her crutch. "I don't know where her wild seed came from, but she dared to come to the Pietersons~"

Before she could finish her words, the courtyard door was suddenly pushed open.

Leon came, holding his sweetheart in his arms. Her face turned pale and she staggered back, holding her belly.

With his eyes were as cold as ice, he grabbed Wilhelmina's wrist with such force that he almost crushed her bones.

"No wonder it's been so quiet these days ...." He sneered, his voice was very low, but every word was as sharp as a knife. "So you were waiting here?"

Wilhelmina gave him a deathly silence glance.

She should have known that in his eyes, she would always be that "vicious" girl.

Seeing his grandson's rude attitude, Sophie got angry and hit the ground with his crutch heavily. "Leon! Watch your attitude!"

Tessa took the opportunity to throw herself into the man's arms and cried even more miserably. "I really didn't lie to you, Leon ... The child is really yours ...."

Wilhelmina smirked as soon as she heard her words.

She said slowly, "Leon, you believe her, but not me?"

Leon frowned even more tightly and spoke coldly, "Wilhelmina, when did you become so mean?"

Mean?

Her fingertips trembled slightly.

Is she mean?

What about Tessa deliberately showing off the gift he gave her in front of her?

What about Tessa secretly tearing up her prescription and throwing away her medicinal materials?

What did it matter if Tessa kept provoking and pretending to be pitiful to gain sympathy?

The old woman couldn't hold back her emotions any longer. She hit her grandson with her crutch and shouted. "Get out! Get out with your wild seed!"

The crutch hit his shoulder several times before falling to the floor.

Tessa shrank in fear, but Leon suddenly pulled Wilhelmina in front of him, his voice very low, but his words were like knives. "Now are you satisfied?"

Wilhelmina looked up at him, her eyes full of desolation.

What was she satisfied with?

Satisfied that he spoke ill of her for Tessa?

Satisfied that he assumed she was sowing discord without even checking?

Satisfied with him ... never trusting her once from beginning to end?
