Chapter 1

On the night of Valentine's Day, my wife, Fiona Dupont and I made an appointment to pray and watch fireworks.

But when the show was about to end, I received the news that she had to work overtime with her lover.

"My dear, I will go back to accompany you after I finish helping Pierre."

Ever since Fiona's friend suddenly became her leader, Fiona had either been working overtime with him until late at night or had to go on business trips for ten days or half a month.

This time, I didn't know what she would do with him.

I was disheartened and about to leave when a broken wishing balloon hit me on the head.

It said: [I want to make up for the lost past with Pierre, and I hope we will never be separated again.]

Looking at my messages with Fiona, I smiled.

——

Just as I was about to leave, I heard someone shouting.

"Everyone, look! It's Fiona's husband!"

"Fiona is right. He is really annoying. I didn't expect he would chase her here!"

I remember that this person was Fiona's colleague Elodie, who had a very good relationship with Fiona.

It was then that I realized that someone in front of me was confessing his love.

What did Elodie say?

I pushed through the crowd and saw Fiona, kissing someone.

She said she would work overtime with Pierre McRae.

Why was she here?

Before I could think about it, everyone who heard Elodie's words looked at me.

They were disdain or sympathy.

Fiona also saw me. Her face showed a trace of surprise.

But she was only slightly alarmed.

Then she kissed the man again.

On the side, Elodie continued to taunt.

"See? They are a perfect match. You are just an intruder!"

I also heard someone say that I destroyed their relationships.

It thought it ridiculous.

I, her legitimate husband, turned out to be her lover.

At this time, the two people who were still unsatisfied finally separated. The man looked in my direction and smiled provocatively, "Fiona, is that your husband you told me about?

"He looks so low."

Fiona smiled indifferently. "It's true that he is petty."

Pierre asked, "Will he be jealous if we do this?"

Fiona said, "I'll coax him. He'll understand."

I was humiliated.

Everyone was waiting to see me embarrassed, but I walked to the center of the field without making any noise.

In full view of everyone, I grabbed the hands of the two and put them together.

With a smile, I said, "I wish you a long and happy marriage."

The two were stunned. And the people around them were even more confused.

In the past, faced with such a situation, I would have thrown a tantrum.

But this time, it was obviously beyond Fiona's expectations.

Perhaps she was not used to me being like this, Fiona wanted to say something.

But in front of everyone, she didn't say a word.

Seeing this, I felt a chill.

I turned around and faced everyone, saying, "They are indeed a perfect match. I should make them a couple.

"After all, garbage is the perfect match, right?"

After saying that, I didn't want to stay here and prepared to leave.

At this moment, Fiona finally became a little flustered and hurried over to stand in front of me.

"Liam, listen to me, this is just an impromptu program arranged for a company dinner. Please don't misunderstand.

"We didn't tell everyone about this in advance, just to make them feel more realistic.

"I'll explain the situation to everyone all right now."

Just as Fiona was about to speak, I gently covered her lips.

"No, everyone likes the current script more."

At this time, Pierre came over and said playfully, "You must be Fiona's husband, right? We are doing this just as arranged by the company. Don't let your imagination run wild."

Then, he patted my shoulder and said softly, "Men should be more broad-minded."

I sneered in my heart and slapped his hand away. "You are broad-minded. I want you to be like me one day."

Pierre was annoyed. "What?"

Seeing this, Fiona quickly stood in the middle and looked at me pleadingly, "Liam, go home first. I will explain it to you when I get back."

I shook my head. "No need."

"I just said that you two are a perfect match. Please continue. I will not accompany you any more."

After saying that, I pushed away the disdainful crowd and left resolutely.

In the rearview mirror, I saw them embracing again.

Chapter 2

Fiona came from a wealthy family and was a spoiled young lady. Since we got married, I had always been the first to apologize whenever there had been a conflict.

Even so, it took a long time to calm her anger.

For the sake of this family, I endured it, thinking that it would bring happiness.

But everything changed after Pierre returned and became Fiona's leader a month ago.

she worked overtime every day, and her excuse was to help Pierre finish his work.

I asked angrily, "Can't he finish the work by himself?"

But Fiona accused me of being petty.

"Pierre is new here and is unfamiliar with the environment. I should help him.

"You are too petty. You are destined to achieve nothing."

After we had a fight, she slammed the door and left, with her eyes full of contempt.

That night, she did not return home, and her phone was turned off.

When I went to find her, I saw Pierre's car in the hotel opposite their company.

The next day, I saw Pierre's post. It was a photo of the two of them face to face.

He said: [The person who cares about you will always be by your side.]

Many people liked and left comments.

[Fiona has finally figured it out. Pierre is the best for you.]

[It looks like she is getting divorced. Congratulations.]

In the past, I would definitely question Fiona, but at that moment, I no longer had that impulse.

I just felt that this marriage was tiring.

The event ended at nine o'clock, but Fiona didn't come back until eleven o'clock. During those two hours, I had no idea what she was doing.

Perhaps she felt guilty, so as soon as she saw me, she put her arms around my waist.

"Liam, I'm sorry. Today..."

I interrupted her and said calmly, "I know. It's required for work."

"Yeah, the company arranged an impromptu show and chose the actors. Pierre and I happened to be selected."

I sneered in my heart.

The draw happened to pick them both.

Besides, I didn't believe any company would let a married woman perform such a show.

I took a few steps back and gently pushed her away.

"I'm glad you're happy. I am a little tired and going to sleep."

After a busy day, I really didn't have the energy to talk to her anymore.

Finally, my indifference caused a hint of impatience to flash across Fiona's face.

Fiona stopped me and said, "I told you, we are just doing our job. Why are you so picky?

"Can you be more manly and generous?"

In the past, she always did this, using tactics to make me tolerate all the unreasonable things she did.

This time, no less.

But she didn't know that when emotions accumulate to a certain point, they would completely change a person.

Besides, I had given up hope on this marriage.

I didn't care it anymore.

I sneered, "You kiss a man and spend every day with him, but you want me to be generous?

"Are you kidding me?"

She said, "The company has made arrangements. If I don't go, I will be fired. What do you think I should do?"

I stared at Fiona and said coldly, "I remember your boss was Pierre, right? Do you mean that you were coerced by him?"

Hearing this, Fiona stood there in a daze.

But then, she angrily said to me, "Liam, don't be so arrogant. I have been very nice to you. Don't make me upset!"

I didn't respond and said nonchalantly, "I'm going to sleep now. Please do as you please."

After saying that, I walked around her and went into the bedroom.

Chapter 3

A moment of peace.

Fiona walked in.

She changed into lace underwear and stockings, bit her red lips lightly, and straddled my waist.

She bent down. I felt a warm breath hovering around my ears.

Her hair was slightly damp, probably because she had taken a shower before coming back.

"Don't be angry. Pierre and I are just friends now. There's really nothing going on between us.

"I'm sorry today. But isn't tomorrow the anniversary of your mother's death? I'll go with you."

When I was difficult to coax, she would agree to do something that I usually wanted to do but she refused to do in order to make me give in.

But at this moment, I couldn't muster any interest in her body that had been touched by others.

I just felt a little sad.

Because this was the first time Fiona offered to accompany me to see my mother.

I remembered I begged her before we got married, but she refused me because she thought it was unlucky.

But after three years of marriage, she had never accompanied me there once.

Now, no matter what the future held, it was time for us to go and see my mother.

I nodded. "Okay, let's go together."

Hearing this, Fiona smiled and kissed me.

I turned my head away and pushed her away.

"I'm tired. Let me rest. I have to see my mother tomorrow."

Fiona was stunned and watched me walk towards the second bedroom.

The next day after get off work, when I went to Fiona's company to pick her up, I happened to see her walking out of the company with Pierre.

Seeing my car, Fiona said goodbye to Pierre, then trotted over.

Pierre looked at me provocatively. His mouth slightly open. I didn't know what he said.

But today was my mother's death anniversary, I didn't want to think about anything else, and brought Fiona to the cemetery.

But before she could get off the car, Fiona received a call from Pierre.

She hurriedly got off the car and then answered the call.

Then, she came over.

I looked at her. "Are you working overtime again?"

Fiona looked anxious. "Pierre said there is a project to be connected, and the information is all on my computer. He can't find it."

I looked at her calmly. "But today is my mother's death anniversary. And this is your first time here."

Fiona looked apologetic. "But Pierre...

"Don't worry. I'll be back as soon as I finish the work."

I opened my mouth slightly, but she had already run away.

From a distance, I watched her get into a luxury car.

I knew it was Pierre's car at that time.

In the end, I went to see my mother alone again.

After standing there for two hours, Fiona still didn't come back.

It was raining heavily when I left.

It was just like my feelings at this moment. It was cold.

Later she told me that she couldn't find the information, so she compiled a new one overnight.

Did she believe it herself?

I didn't believe it anyway.

But I was no longer interested in exposing her excuses.

After a fight, we fell into a cold war.

After that, I was assigned to go on a business trip by the company.

After thinking about it, I decided to tell Fiona.

Before leaving, she helped me with my luggage.

No matter whether it was daily food or clothes, anything she thought I could use was stuffed into my suitcase.

"Business trips are very tiring. You must pay attention on the road."

She wiped the sweat from her forehead and said to me with a smile.

After looking at each other for a few seconds, I calmly said, "Okay".

In the following days, Fiona would video call me every night.

This reminded me of when we first got married. At that time, she did the same thing to me.

At that time, our days were sweet.

She was...

Did she want to make up with me?

However...

It seemed impossible.

I stared at the report sheet that Fiona left angrily when we had a quarrel a few days ago, and was in a daze for a long time.

The day before my return trip, Fiona suddenly called me crying.

"Liam, my mother is sick and is in the hospital. How long will it take for you to come back? I'm scared..."

I remembered that my mother-in-law, Regina, had chronic heart disease.

Even though she wasn't nice to me, I was her son-in-law after all.

After asking for leave from my leader, I boarded the train overnight.

It was already early morning when I arrived at the hospital with a tired face.

Fiona was waiting for me. She was standing at the entrance of the hospital with obvious traces of tears on her face.

When she saw me, she rushed into my arms.

I wiped away the tears from her eyes and said calmly, "Go in first. Regina is still waiting."

Fiona said, "Yeah, if she knew you came back early for her, she would be very happy."

I said calmly, "Maybe."

I was afraid of unexpected situations, so I quickened my pace.

But when I opened the door to the ward, my mood, which had been calmed down, suddenly changed.

In front of the bed, Pierre was concentrating on peeling an apple.

I should have known it earlier. Fiona would have contacted him after something like this.

Seeing me, Pierre smiled gently, walked up to me and stretched out his hand. "Hi, this is not the first time we have met. Fiona always talks about you to me. Please don't mind what happened last time."

I had always maintained an indifferent attitude before, and he thought he can control me.

But he was wrong. There were some things I just didn't care about anymore.

"Of course, I don't mind. But don't you know that Fiona is pregnant?"

Pierre was stunned. "What did you say!?"
