Chapter 1

After pursuing Samantha for ten years, I was tired.

In the past decade, I was available at any time and willing to take on any task without complaint.

Even a stray dog passing by would laugh at me, "Fool!"

I got angry when she kissed another man in front of me again.

I opened a couple's suite for them.

Just when everyone was mocking me and saying that I had nothing left, news broke out that I got engaged to the daughter of the richest person.

Now, it was Samantha's turn to go crazy for love.

——

I looked at the two people in front of me helplessly.

Samantha was drunk and leaned softly in the arms of a young man.

He stared at me with disdain.

"Hey, why are you standing there?

"Are you afraid to drive because you've never seen such a good car before? Don't worry. I have high insurance for this car. I won't ask you to compensate!"

I looked at the car key in my hand, feeling a bit embarrassed.

"Buddy, to be honest, your car is too cheap. I've never driven such a car before. How about you guys ride in my car?"

He sneered.

"You call a car that costs over 400 thousand dollars cheap? Have you seen the world? Don't tell me you don't recognize this brand?

"Your car? What car? E-bike?"

I turned my head, and invited them into my Maybach.

The man held Samantha's waist and looked somewhat nervous.

"I'm sorry. I was too loud just now."

Samantha opened her hazy drunken eyes, glanced at me, and sneered.

"What brother? He's just a simp!"

After saying that, regardless of my embarrassment, she kissed the man's lips.

I was indeed a simp.

In the past ten years, I have seen the streets at 3 am, 4 am and 5 am.

I drove for three hours in the middle of the night just to buy her a Paella that she loved, even in 23℉ weather. I carefully passed her the takeout box from my arms, but she slapped it to the ground.

Today was my last day of being a simp.

I was tired and didn't want to pursue her anymore.

So I parked the car at the entrance of the hotel, checked in, and sent them into the room.

Chapter 2

I slept until noon.

My phone kept vibrating and it annoyed me.

The person who made the call seemed very persistent and wouldn't stop.

I grabbed it irritably and it was Samantha.

I was too tired last night and forgot to block her number.

I might explain it to her now.

"Anson, it's raining outside."

She had already gotten used to me picking her up and dropping her off. Even in bad weathers, as long as she made a phone call, I was more punctual than an Uber.

But today I didn't feel like going out.

"Hmm, so what?"

"So you should pick me up!"

She was angry and anxious, and she raised her voice.

Before, when she got angry, I would immediately apologize and coax her.

But now...

"Why should I come to pick you up? Where was the man yesterday? Let him send you home. I want to sleep. Don't bother me if there's nothing important!"

She chuckled, probably thinking that I was just jealous.

"Anson, I got drunk yesterday and didn't know anything. Don't mind it.

"As long as you come to pick me up now, I can still give you a chance to accompany me, otherwise..."

Before she finished speaking, I hung up the phone.

I rubbed my ears. I had beard these words for ten years, and I was tired.

Samantha kept sending me voice messages and video calls, which were annoying.

After blocking and deleting all her contact information, finally I could have peace.

I buried my face in the pillow and fell asleep again.

Chapter 3

In the dream, I went back to the past.

At that time, I was fat, and I didn't talk a lot.

I was the type of person who was easily looked down upon.

They randomly threw garbage at me, and tore my notebook to pieces.

The lunch I brought would be poured out, and I was beaten up often.

One day, I was dragged by my hair to the mountain behind the school, and happened to encounter Samantha who was hiding there smoking.

She threw away the cigarette end and rushed over to drive away the bad students who were bullying me.

She was so cool that she has completely captivated me.

But I forgot that girls who hid and smoked were not good girls.

So, she taught me a lesson in ten years.

Since that day, I had been pursuing her like a fool.

I didn't eat breakfast every day to save money to buy her snacks.

Although those snacks end up in the trash, I was still happy to do it.

She got annoyed with me and asked me to meet her in the back mountain.

With a cigarette in her mouth, she looked at me sideways.

"Anson, do you like me?"

I lowered my head and shyly nodded.

She sneered, holding a cigarette butt in her hand.

"Come here and be my ashtray, and I'll let you kiss me."

Excitedly, my face turned red, and I reached out without hesitation.

The skin on my palm was burned black by the cigarette butt, making a sizzling sound.

But I was not afraid, and with anticipation, I leaned in with my mouth.

Unexpectedly, I received a solid slap.

"Anson, look at yourself. You look like a fat pig! If I let you kiss me, I'll have to wash my face off!"

Laughter erupted around me.

People started coming out from everywhere. Some of them were holding camcorders.

Mocking voices echoed from all directions.

"Anson, you're just a loser, do you even deserve to like Samantha?"

"How ridiculous!"

I blushed and wished I could be invisible.

I stood there in a daze until everyone had left.

I had already decided to give up.

But when I walked back to school, I saw Samantha squatting under a tree, waiting for me.

"Anson, I'm sorry. I just wanted to play a joke on you. I didn't expect them to go so far!

"Are you really angry? It's okay. You are brave. I don't mind if you pursue me!"

I willingly forgive her because of the guilt on her face.

For ten years, she has always followed the principle of "carrot after stick", keeping me firmly in her grasp.

Looking back on the absurdity of all these years, I really wanted to slap myself.

Damn it!
