Chapter 1

The new neighbor, Mrs. Richter, was glamorous and attractive, and her husband was said to be abroad for a long time.

After getting acquainted, Grace Lawrence got close to her and disappeared from time to time, becoming strange.

"Mrs. Richter is so beautiful, isn't she? Are you attracted, Milo?"

One night, she even showed me Mrs. Richter's private photos.

At first, I thought she was jealous of Mrs. Richter's fair skin, beauty, and long legs, and was testing me.

Later, I found out that she really wanted us to get together.

I thought Grace might be joking and didn't take it seriously until one day, Grace invited Mrs. Richter to our house for dinner.

After I drank too much...

——

Maybe I had been working overtime too often recently and I was a bit tired.

I usually was good at drinking, but today I started feeling dizzy after just two glasses.

In a daze, I heard someone giggling and whispering in my ear.

But I couldn't recall the words at all.

I woke up feeling refreshed, as if I had a beautiful dream.

"Milo, you tossed me around last night. You were completely drunk. It took me and Mrs. Richter a lot of effort to get you to the guest room."

Grace complained as she walked into the room.

Suddenly, I remembered what happened last night and nervously asked Grace where she slept.

"Of course, I slept in the upstairs bedroom. Where else could I go?" Grace answered as a matter of course.

But I clearly remembered there was someone next to me last night. Could it have been a dream?

Just as I was thinking, the doorbell rang.

Mrs. Richter came in with a lunch box, saying she had made pastries for us to thank us for last night's hospitality.

Grace happily took the lunch box and went to the kitchen to plate the food.

Mrs. Richter had fair skin, a beautiful face, and long legs.

I felt embarrassed staring at her and was about to turn around.

Unexpectedly, Mrs. Richter suddenly stopped me and blinked at me, saying, "Darling, are you satisfied with my performance?"

I suddenly felt nervous and quickly looked towards the kitchen.

Grace was still in the kitchen and hadn't come out yet.

I asked Mrs. Richter not to joke around.

She pouted, "You treated me like that last night, and now you're pretending it didn't happen?"

Last night? What happened last night?

I was suddenly dumbfounded and an incredible thought came to mind. Could the person from last night be...?!

Mrs. Richter looked at me and laughed even more happily, "You're not so drunk that you can't remember who you were intimate with last night, are you?"

Just as I was about to ask further, Grace came out with a plate in her hand.

Seeing us still standing at the door, she asked in confusion, "Milo, what are you still doing there? Why don't you invite Mrs. Richter in to sit?"

I had to swallow my question back.

In the living room, Mrs. Richter was chatting and laughing with Grace as usual, but I was on pins and needles.

After finishing the pastries, I said I had something to deal with at the company and left in a hurry.

"Wait! Your tie!" Grace stopped me and complained, "Why are you still so absent-minded?"

Suddenly, Grace stared strangely at my chin, "Honey, why is it so red here?"

Mrs. Richter interjected at the right time, "It's probably mosquito bites. I've been bitten many times too."

I blushed and quickly made an excuse to escape from home.

Chapter 2

When I arrived at the office, my heart was still pounding, and my mind was filled with the mess from last night.

What happened last night? I seemed to have some impressions, but when I tried to think carefully, I couldn't remember anything.

My mobile phone dinged, scaring me so much that I almost jumped out of my chair.

A WhatsApp message from 'Sweetie' came, [Darling, remember to come to the Night Cat Cafe on Spring Road after work. Let's have a chat."

It also included a selfie of Mrs. Richter, looking charming and alluring.

My heart skipped a beat and I almost dropped my phone.

Mrs. Richter? When did she add me on WhatsApp? Was it last night? But I had no impression at all.

I quickly placed my phone on the table and looked around cautiously, afraid that my colleagues would notice something was wrong with me.

I had been on edge all day. I felt as if there was a time bomb in my phone that I dared not touch.

For the first time, I wanted to slow down time and not leave work so soon.

But unfortunately, overtime also passed quickly.

I couldn't always avoid her, so I forced myself into the cafe.

Mrs. Richter was already sitting there, leisurely drinking coffee in a good mood.

"What's wrong with you? Didn't we have a good conversation last night?" I was a little confused by her words.

"I really don't remember what happened last night..."

"Do you want to go back on your word?" Mrs. Richter rolled her eyes. "You can't change your mind after finishing something."

Mrs. Richter said that I promised last night to maintain a long-term underground relationship with her as her husband.

"Don't worry. I have such a good relationship with Grace and she won't mind."

I was going crazy. What kind of ridiculous plot was this?

The dim yellow light in the cafe created an indescribable ambiguous atmosphere.

I was in a daze, as if being pulled by some force, and failed to reject.

As soon as I got home, Grace crawled on top of me and sniffed, "What's that smell on you?"

I felt nervous and casually made up a lie, "Oh, we had a dinner gathering after the meeting today. Maybe I got other's perfume then."

I dared not look into her eyes. I hurriedly took off my coat and threw it into the washing machine, then rushed into the bathroom as if escaping.

After taking a shower, I was torn and unsure whether I should confess to Grace, "That Mrs. Richter..."

Grace spoke first, "What's wrong with Mrs. Richter? Are you interested in her? Do you need me to play matchmaker for you?"

Listening to her random jokes, I suddenly felt very guilty and didn't know how to speak up.

"Okay, I won't tease you. I'm going out now and there's some late-night snack in the fridge if you want."

After saying that, she left the room.

That night, Grace came back very late and looked radiant.

I smelled a familiar scent of perfume on her.

Chapter 3

Ever since that time when I plucked up the courage but failed to confess, I had been in a dilemma.

Mrs. Richter sent me WhatsApp messages every now and then, inviting me to have a coffee at a cafe.

If I refused, she threatened me to tell Grace about our relationship.

I had no choice but to satisfy her.

Fortunately, Mrs. Richter didn't really ask me to do anything outrageous. She just chatted, complained, and occasionally made the occasional off-colour joke.

In this way, I carefully maintained a delicate balance between Grace and Mrs. Richter, feeling anxious every day as if I were walking a tightrope.

One day on the way home from work, I was "intercepted" by Mrs. Richter again.

In the coffee shop, she suddenly leaned over and blew in my ear, "Darling, are you free tomorrow night? Would you like to come to my house?"

When I heard this, I almost jumped out of my chair.

Seeing my shy demeanour, she laughed at me and said, "What's wrong? We haven't been together for so long. Don't you miss me? Don't worry about Grace. I'll find a way to get her out tomorrow night."

In the evening, Grace happily told me that Mrs. Richter had given her a concert ticket and asked me to eat by myself tomorrow.

The next day after work, Grace was indeed not at home.

I hesitated at Mrs. Richter's door.

"What are you waiting for? Come in!"

As soon as I entered the door, Mrs. Richter pounced on me, pushing me against the door and embracing me.

"Darling, do you miss me?"

Hearing this title, I shivered violently.

"Don't, don't call me like that. It's not good for your husband to hear. By the way, is your husband not at home?"

"He's always abroad. Otherwise, how could I be so lonely?"

Having said that, she was about to kiss me on the lips.

Just as we were about to touch, the doorbell suddenly rang.

The person who appeared on the screen was Grace!

I immediately panicked, and what made me even more panicked was that Mrs. Richter opened the door directly!

Grace and I stared at each other.

Grace looked puzzled and asked, "Honey, what are you doing here?"

"Well, I, I..." I was awkwardly trying to think of an excuse as Mrs. Richter spoke first, "I happened to see Mr. Lancelot getting off work, so I called him over first."

"Oh, I know." Grace suddenly realized, smiling, "Mrs. Richter invited us to dinner today. I was just about to call you but you came by yourself."

Sweat came down on my forehead and I asked Grace if she hadn't gone to the concert.

Grace smiled and said, "Mrs. Richter got the time wrong. The ticket is for tomorrow."

I secretly glanced at Mrs. Richter, and she winked at me with a mischievous look in her eyes.

I finally understood. She did it on purpose! She was so audacious!

But why did she do this? It was really confusing.

While Grace went to the kitchen to help, Mrs. Richter quietly tugged at my sleeve and said, "Darling, don't be mad at me. Just kidding."
