Chapter 1

"Let's have a baby."

My wife's best friend asked her to go drinking in the middle of the night.

But she ignored me who had a perforated stomach.

I was coughing up blood and needed emergency treatment, while she was busy drinking wine with a group of strangers.

"Isn't it just pharyngitis? We have medicine at home. Can you stop being so pretentious?"

Then, she gently said to the man in the bar, "Sweetheart, don't drink if you can't. If something happens to you, I will be sad."

Later, she begged me in the same tone, "Honey, I'm sorry. Please don't leave me!"

But I was not a man in the bar who would come back after just a few words of coaxing.

Considering that we were husband and wife, I would naturally help her and her man live a happy life!

My throat was burning with pain. And as soon as I made a sound, I couldn't stop coughing out blood!

I called Megan with difficulty, hoping she could take me to the hospital.

She came in. And I was relieved.

But I never expected that she came in just to take the car keys and turned around to leave.

"Heather asked me to go for a drink, and I couldn't refuse."

Heather was her best friend and asked her to drink every now and then.

I held back the pain and pleaded with anger and helplessness. "I'm coughing like this, shouldn't you take me to the hospital first?"

She turned around and glared at me with eyes full of disgust.

"It's just a cough that causes bleeding. It's normal for you to have pharyngitis. Just take some medicine. Why go to the hospital?"

I wanted to say that this was not pharyngitis, but I was in pain right now!

My strength was almost exhausted, and I used up the last bit of my strength to ask her, "Take me to the hospital."

She smiled coldly, not disguising her contempt at all.

"It's about to start over there. I don't have time."

As soon as the door slammed, she left in a hurry.

Since half a year ago, she went out with her friend and got drunk every two days.

I didn't stop her from socializing. Every time she got drunk, I would go to each bar to pick her up and take her home.

But I never thought that in her heart, drinking was more important than my life.

Megan didn't come to my rescue, so I could only put my hope on my friend, Ethan.

The call came in the middle of the night, and he picked up quickly.

I didn't have the strength to make a sound, but when he heard the noise from my end, he knew something was wrong with me.

He came as fast as he could and took me to the hospital.

I went through a series of tests. The test results were not what I expected. It was a perforated stomach!

The doctor frowned and asked Ethan why he didn't send me here earlier?

If this situation had been delayed by half an hour, my life would have been in danger!

Ethan was busy paying bills and getting medicine and had no time to deal with the doctor.

Only after he pushed me into the ward did he answer the doctor's question and asked me, "Where's your wife? Where is she when you're so sick? Fortunately, my sleep quality is poor, or the consequences are unimaginable!"

I weakly took out my phone.

I wanted to see if my wife, Megan, had sent me any message.

Unfortunately, no. But there were a few posts she just posted on Ins.

[Today's bars are full of young people. I'm so happy.]

[Women should be nicer to themselves and enjoy themselves when they can!]

There was a picture of a man hugging her.

I was heartbroken.

Megan knew that I hated her having physical contact with other men the most. Not only was she hugged by someone, but she did it openly!

Ethan naturally saw Megan's Ins. He was stunned for a moment, and then reminded me meaningfully, "I should not say this, but in this situation, I advise you to divorce."

Ethan stayed with me until four in the morning. He was a lawyer and had to go to another city for a court session at dawn.

He left, but I couldn't be without someone to accompany me.

I had no choice but to contact Megan, hoping that she would have some conscience and come to accompany me.

The phone rang for a long time before it was answered. Just as I was about to speak, a man's voice sounded.

"You are annoying. I just went to sleep."

Chapter 2

Megan's phone was answered by a man, and the man said he had just gone to bed!

My stomach was much better, but I still had the urge to vomit blood!

Didn't this mean that my wife was sleeping with him?

Fortunately, before I could say anything, there was a rustling sound, as if the phone had been snatched away.

Megan started to complain, "What's going on? I'm having my second round of drinking!"

I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard this.

It turned out that I was overthinking it. They were still in the bar. And my phone call just now woke up the man's sweet dream.

Megan sounded sober and not drunk yet, so I quickly said to her, "I'm in the hospital and need someone to accompany me. Come and stay with me."

When she heard that I was in the hospital and asked her to come and accompany me, Megan became very impatient.

"You really went to the hospital. It's just strep throat! We have medicine at home. Why are you being so pretentious?"

I endured it.

"It's not pharyngitis. It's gastric perforation."

She paused. Her tone slightly better.

"Well, then you hire a nurse. I'm busy! Hey, hey, hey! Darling, if you can't drink it, don't. If something happens to you, I will be sad."

Perhaps suddenly realizing that the phone was still on, Megan coughed.

"If you want to hire a nurse, then hire one. If you don't want to, then wait. There's no point in leaving a party halfway through. When I finish drinking, I'll come to you if I have the energy."

The phone was hung up immediately, and I stared at the ceiling blankly, unable to come back to my senses for a long time.

In the past, when she cut her hand at work and sent me a message asking for comfort, I would rather be scolded by my leader than not rush to give her a hug.

However, now she asked me to wait until she had had enough fun and then come over to accompany me.

I was really not that important to her.

Chapter 3

Actually, Megan and I met in a bar.

She was very innocent at that time. And I was worried that she would be cheated, so I intentionally approached her to protect her.

Under my care, she gradually became dependent on me. In addition to drinking parties, she would also come to me when she had difficulties.

I remembered one day, she asked me why I was so nice to her, and I told her the truth that I simply didn't want her to be cheated by a bad man.

She was very touched and asked me if I was willing to protect her for the rest of my life.

We had been together since that day, loved each other for two years, and finally got married.

She was doing fine for two years after marriage, until half a year ago, when her best friend suddenly asked her to go drinking. Everything changed from then on.

She really loved drinking and could drink quite a lot.

But she shouldn't have indulged as much when she was married as when she was single.

I had a good discussion with her about the drinking issue. I said she could drink, but not too often, and she had to report to me which bar she went to and who she drank with.

She agreed, but except for the first time, she never did it.

Over time, she started drinking without restraint, and I went to every bar to pick her up and take her home.

I thought she regarded me as her supporter, and no matter where she got drunk, she could wake up in her bed at home the next day.

Now it seemed that was not the case, she just simply didn't want to be disturbed by me.

I stayed in the hospital for half a month, during which time Ethan would come to see me whenever he had time.

As for Megan, without my supervision, she seemed to have opened the door to a new world.

She went out drinking every night, and called me the next day to say that she was tired and wouldn't come.

Anyway, I had persevered on my own, so it didn't matter whether she came or not.

For the past half month, I watched her post on Ins every night.

Different men put their arms around her shoulders, and occasionally a few touched her breasts.

My heart slowly grew colder along with these photos.

I had also carefully considered Ethan's reminder at that time. I wanted to give up.

I would let her go and move on.

I wanted an amicable divorce, but what I didn't expect was that she came to the hospital to find me on the eve of my discharge.
